0:21 the reason for that is there used to be

0:23 an actual wave machine on that island

0:28 actually cost in 1971 to put the wave

0:33 $400,000 and that's in 1971 money that's

0:37 a lot of dinero some say there are

0:39 remnants some say it is underneath the

0:42 water but I think we need to go out

2:04 been gone a very long time but I wanted

2:07 to rent this boat and drive as close to

2:09 there as we can and see if there's

2:19 left we've changed places now mic is

2:19 driving cuz I wanted to actually get up

2:21 here on the front of the boat and

2:23 actually try to get up close and

2:24 actually get some good shots so we've

2:25 actually switched seats but you can see

2:29 as we get a little bit closer you can

2:30 see some remnants you see a little bit

2:33 of remnants right over there let's get a

2:34 little bit closer now some say that the

2:37 wave machine parts of the wave machine

2:39 that used to actually come out into the

2:41 water are actually sunken underneath

2:44 underneath the actual water here but you

2:47 can see look at those rocks there you

2:49 can see the facade the decor of where

2:53 the wave machine used to be you can

2:55 actually see all these rocks along the

2:57 edge there and that's all part of where

2:59 the wave machine was and the wave

3:01 machine actually came out just a little

3:03 bit you could see the Polynesian right

3:06 over

3:11 there so basically how it's all still

3:11 now the waves were all crashing up onto

3:14 that

3:15 Shoreline and of course that did not

3:17 work out because it was starting to

3:18 really do a lot of damage to the

3:20 Shoreline of the poly it seemed like a

3:22 great idea they were going to have

3:23 surfing contest they were going to have

3:24 all kind of activities involving the

3:27 waves and they realized soon after

3:31 operating it that it just was not going

3:33 to be feasible because it ended up

3:35 destroying the shoreline so if you look

3:37 closely you can see that chunk of rock

3:41 right there that is where it started and

3:44 it has like this mesh over it and the

3:46 mesh is put there to keep the rocks from

3:48 also dropping into the water it's

3:51 interesting too because when you're on

3:52 the ferry boat going from the

3:53 Transportation Ticket Center you pass

3:56 some of these islands and sometimes you

3:57 will see things on the islands and you

3:59 wonder what are are those items on the

4:01 islands they all have a little bit of

4:03 History they all have a lot of reasoning

4:05 on why they're here some memories on all

4:08 these little Islands here in the S Seas

6:14 maintenance cabins and things on there

6:18 shoreline and we're not going to get off

6:20 the boat and go snooping around but I

6:21 wanted to give you guys like and as

6:24 close to the Shore View as

6:26 possible of where the wave machine used

6:31 be isn't it wild to think that directly

6:33 over your shoulder is Cinderella's

6:36 castle

6:46 dud these guys are making their own
