http://www.AdamTheWoo.com - PLEASE SUBSCRIBE - In 1973 President Nixon delivered the line " I am not a crook" at none other than Walt Disney World in one of the meeting rooms at the Contemporary Resort. 0:02 welcome everyone I'm at Walt Disney
0:02 World at the Contemporary Resort a
0:05 resort that if you take the Montreal and
0:07 you go through this Resort you end up at
0:09 the Magic Kingdom you can see Space
0:11 Mountain off in the distance
0:12 Cinderella's castle and of course the
0:14 train station and some people take this
0:17 hotel for granted or they take it just
0:19 as a fantastic piece of Walt Disney
0:22 World History whether to stay at or to
0:25 eat at to dine at or just to wander the
0:27 premises on your way over to the Magic
0:30 Kingdom but there is more to this Resort
0:32 this hotel than meets the eye on
0:34 November 17th 1973 president Richard
0:38 Nixon answered a question in front of
0:41 400 guests and a televised special for
0:44 the Associated Press where he actually
0:47 said I am not a crook and that actually
0:50 happened in one of the ballrooms inside
0:53 this Walt Disney World hotel you want to
0:56 check it out please gather your watch
0:59 your head and step join me shall
1:28 you it's very interesting that over time
1:28 Comedians and television shows talk show
1:30 hosts they kind of misconstrued or ovx
1:33 exaggerate what Nixon actually said it
1:35 has become a basically a staple of Pop
1:37 Culture I am not a crooked he always
1:40 does the peace sign but inside one of
1:43 these ballrooms that we are about to
1:45 check out we are going to see the actual
1:46 spot where the podium was the door he
1:48 walked through and he answered one of
1:50 the associated press's question and
1:53 actually gave that famous
1:59 line as you walk in the convention
1:59 center you'll see these awesome floor
2:01 mats some of my favorite floor mats
2:03 we're actually going to go up to the
2:04 second floor we you're on the bottom
2:05 level so if you ever come here go up to
2:07 the second floor and that is where the
2:09 ballroom will be
2:31 located
2:31 as you can see on both sides there are a
2:33 lot of different meeting rooms and
2:34 ballrooms none of these are the ones
2:36 Nixon was in the one we are looking for
2:38 is the ballroom of americaas which lies
2:41 straight
2:52 ahead right through here is where it all
2:52 happened basically through these doors
2:55 is where Nixon walked in there were 400
2:57 people seated in their seats he walked
2:59 up to the podium he answered some
3:01 questions and he delivered that famous
3:03 line right through here and look there's
3:06 a piano it's some pretty comfortable
3:09 couches H the cool thing about the
3:12 Contemporary is you're actually allowed
3:13 to walk around and you can actually go
3:15 in the meeting rooms in fact the doors
3:17 are completely open and unlocked so
3:19 let's actually go inside and see where
3:21 it actually happened come
3:28 on of course the carpet has changed over
3:28 the years the kitchen back there the
3:31 private restroom is back there but Nixon
3:33 would have walked right through those
3:35 doors the podium would have been
3:38 standing right there and he would have
3:40 stood behind the
3:42 podium answered some questions all the
3:45 Associated Press and public all seated
3:49 right in here on their seats people
3:51 lined up against this
3:54 wall but there you go there's the
3:56 shot right
3:58 there
4:01 I have never obstructed
4:09 Justice pretty crazy to
4:09 think that President Nixon was standing
4:13 right
4:15 there amazing here's the actual doors
4:18 that he walked through of course the
4:19 doors have been repurposed and
4:21 resurfaced since then they were
4:22 different doors but this was the actual
4:25 walkway where Nixon walked through and
4:28 walked up to the podium
4:31 so just imagine the podium basically
4:34 right there next to where this chair is
4:35 the podium would have been there
4:37 speaking out to the
4:41 crowd people have got to know whether or
4:43 not they're president a c well I'm not a
4:46 crook I've burned everything I've
4:53 got so there you have it a little bit of
4:54 presidential and Walt Disney World
4:56 History combined hopefully you learn
4:58 something new today feel free to leave
4:59 some comments about the subject down
5:01 below and remember if you show up out
5:02 here you allowed to walk the halls and
5:05 enter the ballrooms as long as nothing
5:06 is actually happening if there is no
5:08 convention actually taking place inside
5:11 one of the rooms I'd also like to give a
5:12 shout out to my friend at Smith film
5:14 Productions who actually told me about
5:16 this me and him did a video for his
5:17 channel a few years ago I will post a
5:20 link to his stuff down below thanks for
5:22 watching check out my other channel
5:23 called The Daily woo and I'll see you in
5:24 the next video
5:30 goodbye
5:30 on another note look at these crazy
5:32 lights that are in here look at the
5:35 ceiling and the way the lighting is set
5:37 up very futuristic and
