0:02 Today's adventure begins as the
0:02 recording of this Monday, June 30th,
0:06 2025, also known as the last day of June
0:10 2025. Tomorrow starts a new month and
0:14 for me heading over into a new country
0:18 that I've never been to before. But
0:20 today is a travel day from here in Bath
0:23 back to London preparing for tomorrow's
0:26 international travel. I stayed here at
0:28 the Double Tree in Bath. It's been a
0:31 very nice couple of days here in this
0:34 very Gothicky type of city.
0:39 You classify as a city, but more of a
0:40 small town type of vibe. Everything I
0:44 did was within a few block radius. A lot
0:46 of great cathedrals.
0:55 Walking over to the train station. It's
0:55 about half mile.
0:58 Nice little nice little walk heading
1:00 that direction.
1:03 Yeah, really love this. Really love this
1:05 place.
1:07 Very quaint.
1:09 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo here even
1:12 though I am leaving this fantastic place
1:15 of Bath England wearing an appropriate
1:19 bath t-shirt. Interesting. The hotel
1:22 room only had a shower. Did not have a
1:24 tub.
1:26 bathtub. I got my backpack on. I got my
1:30 rolling bag right down there. About an
1:32 hour and a half, hour and 45 minute
1:34 commute via train back over to London.
1:38 But before going over to my hotel, which
1:40 is near King's Cross again, and then
1:42 tomorrow I'll be heading out of that
1:44 general vicinity.
1:46 Going to stop off at the Paddington
1:48 station and say hello to a bear and then
1:51 just see where the rest of the day
1:52 leads. I'm inviting you to join me as I
1:54 say goodbye to Bath and hello again to
1:56 London
1:59 for one day, shall you? My patronis
2:03 Stitch. A little mashup of Potter and
2:07 Stitch there. Got some hats over here.
2:10 Rubber duckies over here. And these
2:12 things are just out of control popular
2:14 right now. These laboos right there.
2:17 These things are like the Furbies of
2:20 2025. Kind
2:29 of a cute little station here. Just got
2:31 the green walk signal. I'm going to head
2:34 across. About 15 minutes until my train
2:36 arrives.
2:41 How cute is this little station? All
2:41 right, it's 11:28 a.m. right now.
2:44 England time at 11:43 platform 2,
2:49 London, Paddington. My two favorite
2:52 words when traveling on time. Something
2:55 happened to Westberry though. That train
2:58 isn't happening. Show this. These are
3:00 the pay phones here. These are the
3:01 telephones.
3:14 Leaving Basa and heading the platform to
3:14 London in the south.
3:23 All right. And evidently this train is
3:23 delayed which is going to push back all
3:24 the trains by a few minutes. Thankfully
3:27 right behind me is a coffee shop.
3:34 Show the mug. I'm not going to be
3:34 purchasing an England mug. It's a rabbit
3:38 hole.
3:43 I I've gone down that pretty deep rabbit
3:43 hole, but I'm not going to buy an
3:44 England mug. They are kind of neat
3:47 looking.
3:49 I'm going to grab a latte. Never.
3:50 Something I've never seen at US
3:52 Starbucks. The gingerbread cookie.
3:54 Speaking of bears, that's not the
3:55 Paddington Bear, but that's a Starbucks.
3:57 Look, there's a Starbucks
3:59 coffee shop there. Never seen that
4:01 before.
4:13 So 89,
4:23 the train went for about 10 minutes and
4:23 now we're stopped on the tracks.
4:26 Beautiful countryside out here.
4:44 come on the sun side for the seats.
5:16 like to
5:16 service
5:23 a oneway
5:26 That's always
5:55 I just did a speed test on my phone.
5:56 Look at this. 122 miles an hour. This
6:00 thing is booking it. The train I did a
6:04 few days ago was only like 89
6:08 90 mph.
6:15 Like 123. That's uh
6:15 this thing is hauling. You know what?
6:19 All right, I switched sides. There's a
6:21 seat on this other side that was not as
6:24 It's hot in the sun. So this security,
6:27 please be aware of location of your
6:29 location and if you see anything at all
6:31 suspicious.
6:38 Moving right along. Moving quickly
6:38 on the way to Paddington.
6:52 Arrived at Paddington Station back in
6:52 London.
6:54 First time I've ever been into this
6:56 station before.
7:42 There he is, the one and only Paddington
7:42 Bear. The sculpture there.
7:45 Got his luggage there. Please look after
7:48 this bear. Thank you. Just like in the
7:50 film and in the stories. Paddington
7:53 bear.
8:02 And there's even a Paddington store here
8:02 which has all kind of Paddington the
8:05 Bear merchandise. Paddington the Bear
8:08 always likes to have marmalade
8:10 sandwiches. Guess you can get the
8:12 luggage tag right here. Phone case.
8:16 Little plushy there.
8:21 That's a big plushy.
8:29 Paddington came from Peru and he ended
8:29 up in London
8:41 and his own little pop figure there as
8:41 well. Here he is in one of the red
8:44 telephone boxes right here. Please look
8:47 after this bear. Thank you. You can even
8:50 buy some orange marmalade thick cut
8:52 right there. This is the lost and found
8:54 area because
8:56 it was lost
8:59 pen right over here.
9:03 Very cute. That is the original book. 65
9:06 years of Paddington the bear. Here he is
9:09 eating one of his sandwiches. Marmala
9:11 sandwiches.
9:14 There on the bench. Old Paddington. He's
9:17 very content here in London.
9:20 His bags all packed up.
9:23 really gearing it towards the Paddington
9:25 and Peru.
9:34 He's tipping his hat.
9:34 So cute. Looking for a small plushy. And
9:38 all they had, they only had two of these
9:39 left. It's like a little Beanie Baby
9:40 brand. Tai Beanie Baby of Paddington.
9:43 So, I think I'm going to I think I'll
9:45 get this just to bring them home with
9:46 me. And I can remember stopping off here
9:48 at the Paddington station. Yeah. You
9:50 want to go home with me? Mhm.
10:05 Heat. Heat.
10:44 The subway station dumps off while the
10:44 tube
10:46 dumps off here at the Westfield where
10:48 evidently just a few days ago or less
10:50 than a week ago. A new Disney UK store
10:52 opened in here. So, I'm going to just
10:53 pop in real quick.
10:58 We're heading to my hotel for the
10:58 evening and then go out later and do
11:00 other things. Really is quite the
11:02 impressive mall. I like the roof line.
11:05 You got part of it's covered, part of
11:07 it's uncovered, so you get some shade
11:09 through, you get some sun through. This
11:12 is just one portion. This place is
11:14 really is massive.
11:16 Never been in here before and most
11:18 likely probably never will again, but
11:20 yeah, I'm in here now. Check this out.
11:22 There is a Tesla store over here. And
11:25 there's a little teeny tiny Look at this
11:28 little thing right here. What the heck
11:29 is that? Interesting. That's like a
11:32 little teeny tiny uh I don't know what
11:34 that would be. Go-kart version. I found
11:36 it. It looks like the grand opening
11:37 ceremony was just a couple of days ago.
11:40 Look at this. It's open now. It was on
11:42 Saturday, so it was just uh two two days
11:45 ago. But they have the Disney Store
11:47 grand opening here in London. Historic
11:51 moment here at this mall, the Disney
11:54 Store. And they had the cast members
11:56 with the cast member shirts on and
11:58 everything. To be completely honest,
12:00 they didn't really have a whole heck of
12:01 a lot that I thought they would have. I
12:04 knew they were going to have some stuff,
12:05 but mostly what I was looking for was a
12:08 a version of a UK shirt that had Mickey
12:12 or Minnie and it said London or UK on
12:14 it, but they didn't really have
12:15 anything. But the cast member in there
12:17 said there is another spot called Oxford
12:18 which is like three times larger and
12:20 they have like little plushes of Mickey
12:22 as a beef eater. So, I might head over
12:24 there and get that. But now I'm walking
12:26 over and noticing over this little candy
12:28 store. You got some of the characters
12:30 here. You got the four of them. And
12:32 they're doing like a little on top of
12:34 each other's shoulders. And I I have
12:36 like a I love like gummy things, but one
12:39 thing I really like when it comes to
12:40 like gummy items are these eggs right
12:43 here. This is like something I just I
12:45 really love like the egg gummy items.
12:48 So, I might get a few of these and just
12:50 save them for later here on the wall cuz
12:52 I like when they're mixed, but the thing
12:54 I always am drawn to are the little
12:56 eggs. The little like uh the little
12:58 sunny side up eggs. So, I'm going to get
13:00 some of those just to take with me. Why
13:02 not? Oh, here's Paddington again. Oh, he
13:04 stepped outside out here in the in the
13:06 sun. He's eating a sandwich one more
13:08 time. Just he's got a nice hat for the
13:10 sun because it is a little little bright
13:12 out here.
13:14 Grab a grab another tube of the
13:17 underground and head over to another
13:19 spot. Eventually going to get to my
13:20 hotel for the night. Oh, there's my
13:22 store right there. Yeah, right there. I
13:25 think it's a hair cutting place, but
13:27 yeah, this place is named named after
13:28 me.
13:58 up on ground level now. They got the
13:58 flags here, the Union Jacks there. And
14:01 you have the rather large, this is
14:02 definitely larger than the new one that
14:04 just opened. Disney store right over
14:06 here. You got mini right there. They're
14:07 promoting the Disney cruise line. I
14:10 think maybe next year 26. Maybe I'll
14:13 start doing some cruises. But for now,
14:16 going to pop in the summer shop right
14:19 here. See what they got inside here.
14:22 Maybe they have something that has
14:23 Disney UK on it. Disney London, Disney
14:26 England. It would be kind of neat to
14:27 have a little souvenir from here. They
14:28 did indeed have a bigger selection. It
14:30 was two floors, two complete floors of
14:32 Disney store. And they had quite a few
14:35 items that were based just on UK stuff
14:37 like England and
14:40 the UK and Mickey and the rest of the
14:42 Disney gang that were basically based on
14:45 the the area. I was hoping they also had
14:48 uh Disney 70th merch, which I was kind
14:50 of surprised they had Disney 70th merch,
14:52 which is at Disneyland out in Anaheim.
14:54 July 17th will be the 70th official 70th
14:57 anniversary of Disneyland even though it
14:58 kicked off a couple months ago. That's
15:00 the actual date. And they had some merch
15:02 here. I'm not sure if some of this they
15:04 they don't have out in Anaheim, but I
15:06 would imagine I imagine they do. I was
15:09 looking for a specific London Disney
15:12 pin. They said they normally carry it
15:14 carry them, but they were sold out. So,
15:16 no luck on that. Didn't purchase
15:18 anything from here, but it was kind of
15:19 neat to just kind of get a little little
15:23 window shopping. Looking over here at
15:25 the at the Disney Store.
15:35 All right. Either going to take the
15:35 train the underground back or maybe grab
15:38 a taxi to my hotel over near King's
15:41 Cross. This area kind of it's like an
15:43 outdoor mall type vibe.
15:45 From
15:55 here, Hullborn two stops to King's
15:55 Cross.
15:57 Taking a lot of trains today.
16:15 Made back over to King's Cross. place
16:15 I'm kind of familiar with. I've stayed
16:17 over in this section a few times and I'm
16:20 staying here again this evening before
16:23 heading out of the country tomorrow.
16:38 We didn't mention anything.
16:38 Weather passengers are advised to carry
16:42 to avoid dehydration. All
16:58 right, this is Point A Hotel. It's in an
16:58 old bank building. All right, all
17:01 checked in now. We're here in the room.
17:03 Got my bags all put away. Got an okay
17:06 view out the window here. Not too far
17:09 from King's Cross and St. Pancress.
17:12 Right over there, there's the Lucas
17:14 Arms. This is the first hotel I've ever
17:16 stayed at where they ask your name and
17:19 everything. And then as they're ready to
17:20 check in, they go, "Oh, here's the
17:21 self-service check-in." And you do it
17:24 all yourself.
17:26 And then you put the key, how many keys
17:28 you need, all that. Which is
17:31 interesting.
17:32 It's kind of a little slower pace than I
17:34 was used to because usually they usually
17:36 pre-book and then I just show up and
17:38 they ask the name and all that and
17:39 everything's good to go. But
17:43 all right, I'm going to rest here for a
17:45 little bit. Then I'm going to go see
17:46 some stuff around London this evening
17:48 cuz it's hot. There's a heat wave
17:50 rolling through the UK right now. I
17:52 think I should probably show the
17:54 facilities. Also got a little shower
17:56 right there. Nice
18:09 There's me. All right. going out a
18:09 little bit later.
18:15 Metropolitan Railway opened King's Cross
18:15 Station in 1863 as an original stop of
18:18 the world's first subsurface
18:21 metro system.
18:30 Back over at the the tube subway,
18:30 there's a photo of it in 1910. Look at
18:32 that.
18:33 Amazing.
18:46 Made it up out of the underground, out
18:46 of the tube,
18:48 the subway.
18:50 Over here, Tower of London.
18:54 An amazing place.
18:57 Should be getting dark in a couple
18:59 hours. Figure it's a good time to kind
19:01 of wander around,
19:03 see some of the sites.
19:14 There's a sund dial right here. And
19:14 right near that,
19:16 there's this little placard on the
19:18 ground that says site part of the the
19:22 site formed part of the Tower of
19:24 Liberty. And there's some little little
19:26 numbers to match things up. But one
19:29 thing that's really peculiar, well, not
19:30 peculiar but interesting is William
19:32 Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, was
19:34 born in the Liberty in 19 in 1644.
19:38 He's where the name Pennsylvania came
19:39 from. William Penn. He was born here in
20:22 The City of London Tower Bridge.
20:22 The other placard said that this opened
20:24 in 1894.
20:27 Looks like it's like a drawbridge of
20:28 sorts, too, because the traffic is
20:30 stopped up here. There's possibly a boat
20:33 going underneath or going through. All
20:35 right. I can't tell if the Oh, yeah. The
20:37 draw bridge is going up. Look at this.
20:39 That's neat.
20:41 That's cool.
23:03 It's going to be interesting when they
23:03 open this up and all these
23:09 Delivery drivers on bikes are trying to
23:09 get their deliveries where they got to
23:10 go.
23:20 Stop by Bruce Road gates. All vehicles
23:20 are requested to wait through a green
23:21 light. Wait for a green light before
23:23 moving on.
25:11 Get back on the tube here in a minute.
25:11 Head back over towards Piccadilly Circus
25:14 area, maybe Luster Square. But this
25:17 statue is believed to be of the Roman
25:19 Emperor Trajan. T R A J A N AD 98 to 17
25:32 over 2,000 years ago.
25:32 Wow.
25:48 arrived over now
25:48 at the Westminster station.
25:51 Going to check out Westminster Abbey,
25:54 Big Ben, Parliament.
26:00 Perfect time to walk around London late
26:00 in the well pre- dust. District service
26:04 heading to Boston
26:08 due to bus within the next minute.
26:12 I love her voice. Yes, I knew this
26:14 looked familiar because this is used in
26:17 Order of the Phoenix when they walk
26:19 backwards through the subway. It's the
26:21 Westminster station and they walk
26:23 through this area here when they're
26:25 going through backwards through the
26:27 subway in Order of the Phoenix. That's
26:29 what I I don't It's hard to pick a
26:30 favorite Harry Potter film, but that
26:32 that one's up there. Exiting out of the
26:33 underground where there's a little bit
26:34 of a overhang here, but look at that.
26:55 What a nice view. Just walking
26:55 immediately
26:56 out of the underground.
27:06 This is what one of those moments that
27:06 when I call this Big Ben, onethird of
27:10 people will correct me. That Big Ben is
27:13 not a tower.
27:15 It's the clock. Fair enough. Fair
27:18 enough. But I'm going to call it Big
27:20 Ben.
27:27 I think it's actually called Elizabeth
27:27 Tower.
27:37 There it is. The London Eye. It's very
27:37 interesting that I've been on the
27:39 Orlando Eye, now called Icon Park, and
27:42 I've been on other similar type of rides
27:44 that are, you know, reminiscent of the
27:47 London Eye. And now I've seen the London
27:50 Eye two times this year. And I had never
27:53 been to the London Eye. And now I've
27:55 seen it with my own eye. One time I went
27:57 up in at the end of January. And now I'm
27:59 back looking at this magnificent eye
28:03 when I went on and I got stuck up there
28:04 for like 20 minutes. Wasn't too long.
28:06 Not enough to go into like a full panic,
28:08 but I did get stuck up there.
28:12 And also Shrek's Adventure is over
28:14 there. And the London Dungeon, which was
28:17 really awesome. Look at this tugboat is
28:19 really It is really teetering with the
28:22 wake from the Uber boat that just went
28:24 by.
28:25 Oh, it was just ringing.
28:28 It's on the half hour.
28:30 Now, this bridge, I believe this bridge
28:31 was used in 28 Days Later where they
28:34 closed the whole bridge down.
28:42 I believe this one of the sequels to 28
28:42 Days Later just came out. This person's
28:44 walking right across the road.
28:51 I've heard mixed reviews about the the
28:51 new 28 Days film.
29:08 But I need to see it though. I did like
29:08 28 Days Later. I didn't love it, but I
29:11 did like it a lot. There's an event
29:14 going on over by the river at
29:16 Parliament. Bunch of people down there
29:19 doing some stuff. I noticed all these.
29:21 Last time I was here in January, I
29:24 didn't see all these flags.
29:26 We're all out here in this courtyard.
29:34 These were definitely not here when I
29:34 was here before. Got the sun glistening
29:37 there on the tower.
29:39 Sun will be setting soon, but kind of
29:41 got the golden hour.
29:48 10 minutes to 9. 10 minutes to 9:00 p.m.
29:48 And the sun still has not set.
30:43 and they're setting over here at the
30:43 setting up over here at the square for
30:46 an event called Live London 25.
31:13 stroll over to this area. So you go
31:13 through Luster Square and then start
31:15 heading through Piccadilly Circus and
31:18 then from here head back via the tube
31:22 back to my hotel room. Call it a night.
31:24 Prepare for international travel
31:27 tomorrow.
31:45 I got some dinner to take back to the
31:45 hotel.
31:48 I've also decided I've rented
31:50 Paddington.
31:52 Never seen the movie. I mean, I know the
31:54 story of the Bear.
31:57 2015 Paddington. I'm going to watch it.
32:06 One last thing before heading back to my
32:06 room. This time of night, there's no
32:08 arriving trains over here in this
32:10 section. I believe it's King's Cross
32:12 section 4 and five, but this in Harry
32:17 Potter
32:19 was 9 and 3/4. In fact, there are people
32:22 over here getting some photos. Well,
32:25 maybe not. But somewhere over in here
32:29 was the spot from the the film,
32:34 the platform 9 and 3/4
32:37 right over in here. And then later in
32:40 another film later on in the franchise
32:42 is when Voldemort appears.
32:45 But this is the actual nine and 3/4ers,
32:47 the real spots.
33:08 If you take a look at this, you see
33:08 Harry walking by right here. Kind of see
33:11 those bricks. They've redone the
33:17 bridge over there.
33:29 Kind of neat. So, this time of night,
33:29 because there's no trains arriving,
33:30 anybody can just walk in here cuz there
33:33 are trains. Well, there's trains
33:34 arriving, but no trains are departing.
33:36 So, you can just walk in over there
33:38 without having to go anywhere. And
33:40 during the day, you can just, you know,
33:43 scan in like you're going somewhere and
33:44 walk over here.
33:58 This is where Hagrid and Harry are first
33:58 walking to. I don't know. So cool. Such
34:02 great movies. Such great movies. And
34:04 that's going to do it for today. Thanks
