1:02 in the back quite possibly one of the
1:02 coolest
1:04 mailboxes in existence and when a stiff
1:07 wind comes through you really get quite
1:10 the musical interlude with them clanging
1:14 around like that it's interesting this
1:16 little section all of these are rusted
1:19 out because these are not beer cans
1:22 these are probably like blackeyed pea
1:25 cans green bean cans homon did you ever
1:29 try Hony John the Creator passed away in
1:32 1988 and his wife in
1:35 2002 but his vision lives
1:39 on right here in Houston with that view
1:43 of
1:44 downtown right here in this
1:46 neighborhood was a scene from one of the
1:49 quintessential 1990 movies 1994 was a
1:53 very pivotal year for a lot of Pop
1:55 Culture enthusiasts Green Day Offspring
1:59 all those bands brought punk rock into
2:01 the mainstream and it was also the year
2:04 that Ben Stiller directed his very first
2:07 film and he summed up Generation X
2:09 pretty well right here on the corner of
2:11 clay and Taff Street this was the road
2:14 where Steve's on Ethan Hawk Janine Garo
2:17 and wona Ryder lived this was their
2:20 apartment in a little movie called
2:23 Reality Bites it's pretty neat to think
2:25 about all four of them being roomies
2:28 right in there and out of all of them
2:30 which one do you think would have owned
2:33 the
2:34 cat one of the final scenes of the movie
2:37 Ethan Hawk is standing right here wona
2:39 Ryder is up on that porch and the
2:41 skyline of Houston in the background
2:44 this bush has grown
2:46 considerably over the last couple of
2:48 decades but this is where they confessed
2:52 their love to each
2:55 other right there in a way that only the
2:59 mid99s
3:01 could present wona Ryder would have
3:03 leapt over that railing ran down and
3:06 gave him a
3:07 kiss why didn't she kiss me oh yeah
3:10 because I wasn't here but honestly who
3:13 didn't have a crush on that
3:15 woman oh man the interesting thing is a
3:18 location manager would not choose that
3:21 spot in current day because these big
3:24 buildings and this new construction are
3:27 blocking the cityscape which made that s
3:30 so memorable it's always an adventure in
3:32 a big city to try to find a parking spot
3:36 for the RV but I found one I don't know
3:39 how but I found one there's a mural on
3:41 the back side of this barber shop I love
3:44 Houston it's quite a few of those around
3:46 town that state that as well finding a
3:49 spot for Large Marge
3:52 definitely slightly difficult in this
3:54 area but check this out the bethl
3:57 Baptist Church it's no longer a
3:59 congregation in fact years ago it burned
4:02 on January
4:04 24th 2005 it is kind of neat that it's
4:06 just wedged in this little road right
4:09 next to these
4:39 this is definitely really cool
4:39 established
4:41 1891 The Fountains are still running and
4:45 it's now a public
4:56 park down the back
4:58 alleys
5:00 I hit a major traffic jam and I took a
5:03 turn down this way to avoid
5:06 it I'm wedged in between this soiled
5:10 mattress and some razor bar wire fencing
5:13 on the
5:20 right Smither
5:20 Park this place looks awesome behind
5:23 this fence is a metal dragon it's almost
5:26 like a parade float before hopping on
5:28 board though you might might want to get
5:30 your tet in a shot cuz if that guy bites
5:32 you it's bad news at first glance the
5:35 structure looks like a huge eyeball but
5:38 I think maybe it's a
5:39 fish I'm not really sure what that is
5:42 this is the inside of it you can see my
5:44 reflection there in the broken
5:47 artistic glass work and as you back out
5:51 you'll notice this is kind of like a
5:53 mouth with teeth up there this thing
5:56 scared the crap out of so many people
5:59 there's a port of potty there just in
6:01 case you could stare at this wall for
6:02 hours and still not see everything that
6:05 monkey this throne with alligators at
6:08 the bottom this longhorn steer you hang
6:11 out here
6:13 often what's your
6:15 name it's like talking to a
6:31 wall the people who watch over the park
6:31 also take care of the beer can house and
6:34 the orange show a former postal worker
6:37 spent 25 years building this homage to
6:42 his favorite Citrus food now we can't go
6:45 inside because there is a lock on the
6:48 gate and according to their website this
6:51 is under renovation for about the next
6:54 month or so and there is a guard dog up
6:57 there many years ago I did an unedited
6:59 vlog log wandering around the inside of
7:01 that gosh that seems like only yesterday
7:03 but it's been a few
7:12 years I'm not 100% sure on what this is
7:12 it could be a taco
7:14 man or maybe a piece of toast the more I
7:17 think about it it could have been a
7:20 foot let's answer some
7:23 questions let's try that
7:27 again let's answer some questions
7:30 that's
7:37 better do you believe in the Loch Ness
7:37 monster I think it'd be amazing if the
7:39 loch nest monster was real as well as
7:41 the Jersey Devil and Moth Man and
7:44 Sasquatches I think part of the Mystique
7:47 though is not really knowing you always
7:50 are left wondering do you ever plan on
7:52 marrying or settling down having kids of
7:54 course I'm not opposed to that first I
7:56 have to find someone who can deal with
7:58 my traveling lifestyle
8:00 in my insane mind hey Adam what's your
8:02 favorite baseball team honestly I don't
8:04 really have a favorite I like a lot of
8:05 different teams I like a lot of
8:06 different players especially back when I
8:08 really followed baseball in the 80s and
8:09 90s I am more of a fan of the game I
8:12 wanted to be a professional baseball
8:14 player when I was younger and there was
8:15 a small portion of my life probably 5 or
8:18 10 years ago I actually considered going
8:20 to school for
8:22 umpiring there's something you probably
8:24 didn't know how are you finding your
8:26 little areas that you're going to are
8:28 you Googling them before you get there
8:31 or are you using a GPS on your phone
8:34 when it comes to the route I'm going
8:35 it's kind of just on a whim there's
8:36 really no Rhyme or Reason to it when it
8:38 comes to researching spots or what I'm
8:40 going to do in that certain area it's
8:42 kind of done a day or two before with
8:44 exception sometimes there will be things
8:45 I want to specifically go to but
8:47 normally it's Word of Mouth things left
8:50 in comments or something I've had in the
8:52 back of my mind for a long time or maybe
8:54 even something the internet provides
8:56 just a bunch of different things that
8:58 conglomerate into one
9:09 factor do I still leave stickers in
9:09 locations that I have visited I don't
9:11 really do that anymore I did that when I
9:13 first started doing videos and people
9:14 would go find them but I find out now
9:16 that after one person gets all the
9:18 stickers a lot more people go out of
9:20 their way to go to that location to get
9:22 them and the stickers are gone and I
9:24 feel bad that people are traveling to a
9:26 spot to get stickers that no longer
9:29 exist that's why I don't put stickers
9:31 and hide them around at the former Vlog
9:33 spots anymore hi Adam Theo will you tell
9:37 us how you came up with your Hitchcock
9:38 phrase and have you ever thought about
9:40 going to the filming location of the
9:41 birds because we think Hitchcock would
9:45 be proud it just kind of happened like a
9:47 lot of catchphrases I see something and
9:49 I just make a comment then I make it
9:51 another day I make it another day and
9:52 then it just kind of becomes the thing
9:54 that sticks in my mind and sticks in the
9:56 viewer's mind that's how I came up with
9:58 it and yes definitely Northern
9:59 California trip to Bodega Bay to visit
10:03 the location of the birds and Hitchcock
10:05 he will be proud if you were to win the
10:09 lottery on one of your trips what kind
10:12 of car would you purchase with that
10:14 money I don't think I'd have my mind on
10:15 any particular car like a sports car or
10:17 a classic car or anything like that
10:19 maybe I'd get a bigger RV a larger
10:23 Marge if you will what YouTubers do you
10:26 follow other than my friends and those
10:28 who appear in my videos really don't
10:29 watch a whole lot of videos on YouTube
10:33 unless I'm researching something or
10:35 something of that nature I'm usually so
10:37 focused on doing my own thing that I'm
10:39 not spending a lot of time searching and
10:41 browsing YouTube and following a lot of
10:44 other YouTubers I know it sounds bizarre
10:46 but it's kind of the nature of my life
10:48 and how hectic everything is sometimes
10:50 when are you going to come to the UK I
10:52 know you've already answered this
10:53 question recently um but if I were to
10:56 start a petition how many names would it
10:58 take for uh you to come to the UK
11:01 because I will do it I've been wanting
11:03 to get over there for quite a while it's
11:04 not really in the cards right now I'm
11:06 not sure if petition would really help
11:08 but it would be fun to see how many
11:10 people would sign it that's for sure
11:12 this is an example of theming done
11:14 correctly your call Firehouse Saloon put
11:17 a fir truck in front of your
11:20 place that's the way it's done a very
11:22 long Stones Throw from downtown but I
11:25 still had trouble finding parking I had
11:28 to wedge Ed the RV in that parking lot
11:32 Corner way over
11:34 there but I made it happen under the
11:36 bridge near
11:38 downtown there's a colony of bats and if
11:42 you think I'm kidding take a gander at
11:45 these signs never handle grounded bats
11:50 in the crevices of the undercarriage of
11:52 this road are thousands and thousands
11:55 and thousands and thousands and
11:58 thousands of actual bats if you listen
12:02 closely you can hear them
12:11 chirping right along these little lines
12:11 these parallel lines they barricade
12:14 themselves up in there they're up in
12:17 there specifically they are Mexican
12:19 freetail bats this is what they look
12:22 like up
12:23 close look like a little mouse with
12:25 wings there's the skeleton of one of
12:27 those little creatures
12:31 kind of looks like the sorny Weaver
12:33 chasing alien if you look all along the
12:36 railing here this is not dirt this is
12:39 not mud this
12:42 is bat hoop it's hard to hear them with
12:45 the traffic up above but listen very
13:22 there got to love these Houston roads
13:22 certain times of the year there are way
13:23 more bats in that area than there were
13:26 tonight I'm not really sure I think the
13:28 weather comes into play a little bit on
13:30 this but there really weren't a whole
13:32 lot I can hear them up there but they
13:34 weren't making it visible they weren't
13:36 coming out to
13:37 play usually they take flight from under
13:40 the bridge they go off into the Houston
13:44 sky but not
13:47 tonight is it the time of
13:50 year maybe it's the time of year maybe I
13:54 came here at the wrong time to see the
13:56 bats I wanted to see some bats
