0:04 welcome everyone Adam the woo here happy
0:04 Sunday hopefully you guys are having a
0:05 great weekend thus far I am in Hannibal
0:09 Missouri at the birthplace childhood
0:11 home the home the beginning of a
0:14 fantastic historical figure that you can
0:17 probably figure out who that historical
0:20 figure is but it's not the one you're
0:22 thinking of it's someone else and just
0:26 like Hannibal in The A Team always says
0:30 I love it when a plan comes together
0:32 well I love it when a vlog comes
0:36 together that didn't really make any
0:37 sense it's my second channel daily blog
0:39 channel it's the daily stomping grounds
0:42 the daily woo stomping grounds of Mark
0:45 Twain but this Vlog is not about Mark
0:48 Twain because I have been here a number
0:49 of times this is my third third not two
0:52 my third visit to Hannibal Missouri and
0:56 I have done a lot of pictures some
0:57 videos some other Vlogs from Hannibal as
1:00 well as the area and my good friend
1:02 Justice C from live fast iport is a
1:04 self-proclaimed afficionado of Mark
1:07 Twain and I'm going to leave the Mark
1:09 Twain isms in the form of Vlogs and Main
1:12 Channel videos to him but there is one
1:14 other fantastic historical figure who
1:17 was born here and lived here for almost
1:20 two now we can actually use the two two
1:23 decades you ever see the movie Titanic
1:25 did you ever hear about the tragedy of
1:27 the Titanic well there was somewhat on
1:30 the Titanic who was born right here in
1:33 Hannibal Missouri I am talking about
1:36 shun the Titanics Molly Brown The
1:42 Unsinkable Molly Brown maybe you've
1:44 heard of her well her birthplace and the
1:48 museum is right there just follow the
1:51 captain's long arm not the long arm of
1:55 the law but the long arm of the captain
1:58 and sh
2:01 right up there is where she was born and
2:04 where she lived at the top of this steep
2:07 little incline right here on dinkler
2:11 alley d e n k l e r alley and Highway 36
2:17 you can go on Google satellite street
2:19 view or what other area
2:22 satellite technology online you like to
2:25 use and actually see exactly where we
2:27 are standing at this moment on the
2:28 corner of dinkler alley and Highway 36
2:31 and there is a sign here that says Molly
2:34 Brown parking now this is actually is
2:37 not specifically for Molly Brown because
2:40 Molly Brown actually has passed away she
2:42 was born a very long time ago and has
2:45 since passed on but her memory and her
2:47 Legacy live on not only internationally
2:51 but also right here in Hannibal Missouri
2:55 Molly Brown parking and the thing is
2:59 when you climb
4:05 imagine having to drive up and down this
4:05 every day of course when Molly Brown was
4:07 around they probably did not have
4:09 vehicles of this nature so they would
4:11 have had to have a horse carriage maybe
4:13 come up here a lot of walking so she was
4:15 probably in very good shape her thighs
4:18 and her legs are probably very strong
4:19 from walking up this hill what was the
4:22 name of Molly Brown was her original
4:25 maiden name if you will do you remember
4:27 yeah uh Margaret toin Margaret Tobin
4:30 lived here at this exact residence in
4:34 this home for 18 years and then she
4:37 moved to another state out of Missouri
4:39 she married a gentleman with the last
4:41 name of brown affectionately became
4:44 Molly Brown and of course we all know
4:47 her from the
4:50 Titanic and this is where it all started
4:52 let's see if we can actually go inside
4:53 have you looked inside the windows yet
4:55 all right let's go inside and look in
4:57 the windows you see some of the original
4:59 brick
5:00 here this is what I was saying you see
5:02 the plants obviously have seen better
5:05 days because this is a seasonal
5:07 business and they are not open currently
5:10 in fact you can see they don't even have
5:12 their hours up here or an open sign but
5:14 let's look inside the
5:20 windows not really much in there other
5:20 than a desk but I think in this window
5:23 we might actually see some artifacts and
5:24 some
5:43 you can see an old oven in there and you
5:43 can see a Stairway that leads to the
5:45 second floor you got to wonder if anyone
5:47 knows out there definitely leave some
5:49 comments about which room do you think
5:51 was Molly's room as a child which one of
5:55 these rooms was probably on the top
5:56 floor where the bedrooms were in here
5:59 was the kitchen
6:10 right on the side of this little
6:10 Hill go up these
6:26 stairs and as you can see when she lived
6:26 here they did not have central heat and
6:27 air but now that is actually is a museum
6:29 and they're actually saving the
6:31 artifacts inside they want to keep the
6:33 people the tourists that are coming here
6:35 in the on season they want to keep them
6:37 comfortable inside the building so that
6:39 is what that is for that has been
6:41 obviously added since Molly
6:44 Brown so here's something interesting
6:47 she actually did not get the name the
6:49 nickname Unsinkable Molly Brown until
6:51 after she actually passed away and of
6:54 course Molly Brown was one of the when I
6:56 think she was in Lifeboat 6 from the
6:58 Titan it was Lifeboat six right Lifeboat
7:01 6 from the Titanic when they were going
7:03 away it was not loaded heavily enough
7:05 and as in the movie they actually
7:07 portrayed that to some extent I don't
7:08 know if that was completely correct
7:10 historically correct but they basically
7:12 loaded the lifeboats down not enough and
7:15 she tried to rile up the person who was
7:17 actually rowing the boat she was
7:18 actually helping row herself they were
7:20 trying to go back to the Titanic to pick
7:22 up more people and there is a lot of
7:24 controversy whether or not she succeeded
7:26 in getting that Lifeboat 6 to go back
7:29 the Titanic to pick up more people so
7:31 there is a lot of discrepancy whether or
7:33 not that actually really did happen what
7:37 are your thoughts on that and what are
7:40 your thoughts on that did she go back
7:41 and save people or did she not save
7:43 people I think she did she did yeah so
7:46 for the sake of this Vlog and for the
7:48 sake of your historical memory she did
7:51 she was a lifesaver and then after the
7:55 fact she actually did after she survived
7:57 the Titanic she was one of the very few
8:00 survivors and I think one of the very
8:02 few female survivors in fact there was a
8:05 whole court case and a whole
8:07 investigation into why the Titanic sunk
8:09 and she was actually not allowed to
8:11 testify do you know why she was not
8:12 allowed to testify she was a woman
8:15 because exactly because she was a woman
8:17 because back in those days things were a
8:19 little bit different very bizarre how
8:21 they did things back in the olden days
8:22 so she was not allowed to actually
8:24 testify on the behalf of what really
8:26 happened which is very very interesting
8:30 but this is the
8:38 porch of Molly
8:38 Brown and I'm guessing back in her day
8:41 there was not an exit sign here she
8:43 probably knew where to exit her own home
8:45 this is actually kind of a cool house
8:47 living here on the side of this inclin
8:57 hill there's the dinner
8:57 table and a stove
9:00 to keep the house warm in the cold
9:01 winter months here in
9:08 Missouri so you have two fantastic
9:08 historical figures here in
9:11 Hannibal of course Mark Twain being the
9:14 first and the most notable and highly
9:16 promoted in all the touristy stuff
9:18 that's around here but there's also
9:20 Molly Brown who was right inside this
9:24 door which is super cool I'm guessing
9:26 this is structurally sound enough to
9:28 walk on
9:35 very cool any other facts or figures you
9:35 would like to add about The Unsinkable
9:37 Molly Brown no I think you covered it I
9:40 think you didn't even know what I said
9:41 at the beginning so how do you know I
9:42 covered everything I know all right I
9:44 covered everything at least you know her
9:47 real knew her real name I did not
9:49 actually know what her maiden her real
9:51 name originally was so very interesting
9:55 all right I have a moment of quietness
9:56 now I'm going to show you the house from
9:58 a distance so you can get kind of a cool
10:01 view of actually where she lived let's
10:03 check that out from down here and I'll
10:05 see you guys later we're continuing a
10:07 road trip back towards the West Coast
10:11 I'm actually going to Marceline Missouri
10:12 today which is where Walt Disney grew up
10:14 to childhood home I will not be filming
10:16 a vlog but I will be there later today I
10:19 will post a bunch of pictures on
10:20 Instagram as well as a bunch of pictures
10:22 from here currently either before or
10:25 after I upload this video from here in
10:28 Hannibal so go to my Instagram Adam the
10:30 woo on Instagram and you can check all
10:32 that out all right moment of quietness
10:34 starts right
11:18 hate to interrupt you but this was
11:18 probably the original staircase look at
11:20 these concrete stairs leading to the
11:22 front door that was probably the front
11:24 door which is very interesting those
11:26 stairs which are now grown over with sod
11:29 and mud and G that was probably one of
11:32 the original staircases that she would
11:34 have walked up to go in her house as a
11:36 teenage girl little did she know that
11:39 she was going to be such a historical
11:41 figure and be one of the survivors from
11:43 the Titanic
11:46 itself so pretty cool check down below
11:49 for my t-shirts AB the woo.
11:50 spreadshirt.com there is a daily woo
11:52 t-shirt the daily woo t-shirt over on
11:54 there that you can get I am closely
11:56 honing in on a thousand days a lot of
11:58 people have asked why have the last
12:00 couple videos been a little shorter when
12:02 I say shorter 5 6 7 8 9 10 15 minute
12:05 long Vlogs as opposed to 30 minute Vlogs
12:08 and the reason is you will notice the
12:10 quality of these is not in HD because
12:12 since I am traveling the countryside
12:14 finding Wi-Fi to upload in HD is very
12:17 difficult and even uploading in 360 or
12:20 480 is very very difficult as well so
12:23 the shorter when I say short right now
12:25 we're at 12 1/2 minutes so this will be
12:27 a 13-minute vlog when I say short these
12:29 are not that short but they are shorter
12:31 than the ones I have been doing because
12:33 when I'm back in California at home I
12:35 actually have decent Wi-Fi so I'm able
12:38 to upload longer videos so that is the
12:40 reason why the Vlogs on the road are a
12:42 little bit shorter and a little bit less
12:45 HD inness if you will all right going to
12:48 see you later look somebody else has
12:50 appeared up there to stop off and see
12:54 the Molly Brown House we started a trend
12:57 everyone congratulations there's another
12:59 person we me and you together
13:01 vicariously have started a trend of
13:04 goodness when it comes to Molly Brown
13:07 historical accuracy even though nothing
13:10 I say really is ever accurate in fact
13:12 never take anything I say as factual
13:14 always do your own research I am just
13:16 here to show you awesome things I'll see
13:18 you guys later goodbye
