1:10 serious a serious topic that I've been

1:12 considering for a while as you know I've

1:15 been doing videos for five plus years

1:27 years coming up in November will be four

1:30 years when I actually quit my job

1:33 departed actually August 9th will be

1:35 four years from when I quit my job and

1:38 then I went on tour with a couple bands

1:41 after touring for a month around October

1:44 of 2011 November of 2011 I decided to

1:47 hit the road sold all my stuff started

1:50 sleeping in my van traveling across the

1:53 country did road trips to and fro north

1:55 south east west Mexico Canada 46 of the

2:01 48 continental United States I have been

2:03 to in the last few

2:05 years multiple times it's very

2:07 interesting how my life has changed over

2:10 the last few years and it's also very

2:11 interesting how that garbage truck keeps

2:15 making a lot of noise I thought it

2:17 originally had dumped the garbage but I

2:19 was incorrect the garbage had not been

2:21 dumped but I think they are now

2:23 completed so now it's time to get

2:25 serious it is time to get heart tohe

2:28 heart I want to ask you guys

2:30 your opinion on something I value what

2:34 your opinion is and what you leave in

2:36 the comments down below as far as what

2:38 you leave on social media through emails

2:41 Twitter Instagram Facebook and these

2:46 been considering this for a while now

2:48 and part of me really wants to rebuke it

3:22 sourcing hold on one second

3:32 look it's the never ending trash can

3:35 and over that's about the third time

3:38 it's been dumped there must be something

3:40 inside

3:41 there that is very very sticky to the

3:45 bottom of the trash can so let's talk a

3:47 little bit about crowd sourcing

3:50 crowdfunding I'm sure you guys have

3:52 heard of Kickstarter and other different

3:55 types of crowdfunding sources that a lot

3:57 of creators whether it be podast casters

4:00 whether it be YouTubers whether it be

4:02 people with websites whether it be

4:04 directors and producers anyone that

4:06 creates anything artists writers use

4:10 crowd sourcing which are basically

4:12 people who have a 100% commitment and a

4:17 passion on what that other person is

4:19 doing and that person will set up a

4:22 basically an extended tip jar if you

4:25 will basically if they have an idea that

4:28 they want to put out let's say someone

4:29 wanted to write a book or they wanted to

4:31 draw and make the biggest mural ever on

4:33 the side of this wall right here if they

4:36 own the building and they wanted to do

4:37 that and they did not have the accurate

4:39 amount of funds they would put that into

4:41 the world and through the circle of

4:44 goodness people through crowd sourcing

4:46 would actually come up with the money

4:47 for those people to either write the

4:49 book paint a mural on a wall make a

4:52 movie or any other

4:55 114 million and a half gazillion

4:58 thousand things that crowd sourcing is

5:01 used for now like I was

5:04 saying in my life I've always felt that

5:07 that was a negative thing a bad thing

5:10 and I don't know why I've had that

5:11 mentality I think a lot of it is because

5:14 I've always been very stubborn I've

5:15 always wanted to do everything myself

5:17 and I did not want any handouts any

5:19 charity anything like that

5:21 especially coming up in a punk rock band

5:23 doing everything DIY do it yourself do

5:25 it yourself do it yourself I don't need

5:27 help from anyone else do it yourself do

5:28 it yourself do it yourself that was my

5:31 mentality and through the beauty of

5:33 YouTube I've discovered that there are a

5:35 lot of people who are on my side that

5:37 are very passionate about what I'm doing

5:39 not only with giving me suggestions on

5:42 where people want me to go but also

5:45 helping out by buying t-shirts on

5:47 adamthe woo. spreadshirt.com I did a

5:50 vlog about a week or two ago called it

5:52 the future of the Adam the woo Channel

5:54 and all these movie locations that I

5:56 will be going to across the country as

5:59 well as was going back to Florida to

6:01 Atlanta to Gatlinburg lots of video

6:04 ideas but then I got to thinking based

6:07 on comments that people were sending me

6:09 on social media Twitter Instagram

6:11 Facebook and on that YouTube video

6:13 people were saying start a patreon

6:16 account now I am not really super

6:18 familiar with how patreon works so I've

6:19 done some research in the last couple

6:21 days and I posted something on my

6:23 Facebook Facebook Adam the woo facebook/

6:26 thedaily woo you can look at that I

6:28 posted a post yesterday morning asking

6:31 what everyone's opinion on this

6:34 crowdfunding was and 90% of the positive

6:38 people not everyone was positive 90% of

6:42 those who were positive were all

6:44 suggesting patreon so I did a little

6:45 research on patreon and I guess the way

6:47 patreon works is it's a monthly system

6:50 where if someone was to fund Adventures

6:55 me going out basically paying for a

6:57 rental car paying for a hotel room

6:59 paying for a flight to go somewhere in

7:02 the country somewhere out of the country

7:04 somewhere overseas all these ideas that

7:06 I have written down in a book this

7:08 massive book full of ideas and ideas

7:11 that I have not even discovered yet that

7:13 you have not even told me yet that I

7:15 really want to get to my whole purpose

7:19 is to continue traveling seeing things

7:22 doing things moving to Southern

7:25 California I love Southern California

7:27 but in a lot of ways it is kind of

7:29 changed things a little bit because I do

7:31 have to pay rent on my house and it's

7:33 kind of difficult to get in the van and

7:35 travel for months at a time when I have

7:38 obligations at the house with paying

7:40 rent and stuff like that so my new

7:42 motive will basically be anywhere in

7:46 California that I can drive to let's say

7:48 Las Vegas let's say San Francisco San

7:51 Diego all those places I can easily

7:54 attain through driving in my van getting

7:56 a hotel for a couple of nights cuz it is

7:59 is kind of warm it is summertime so

8:01 sleeping in the van during the

8:02 summertime would be kind of rough but

8:05 I've also got other ideas that I want to

8:07 go fly and go to this has nothing to do

8:11 with my already pre-planned plans of

8:14 going to Dragon Con a month from now one

8:16 month from now I will be in Atlanta at

8:18 Dragon Con I've already booked my flight

8:20 and my hotel room and I also still have

8:23 not booked it but I am going to

8:24 Gatlinburg first week of November and

8:26 then I'm going back to Central Florida

8:28 for two weeks at the end of December

8:31 this whole conversation has nothing to

8:33 do with those plans these are for future

8:36 plans as the year progresses and most

8:39 likely into early next year I really

8:42 want to start doing a lot of traveling a

8:45 lot of flying places a lot of filming

8:48 the biggest thing are the movie filming

8:50 locations now I've s I've said this

8:52 before the way I pretty much make any

8:55 sort of income is off adamthe woo.

9:17 things I'm losing my train of thought by

9:20 the way trying some new ice coffee

9:22 usually I'm a hot coffee

9:24 guy going with the iced coffee today

9:28 because it is a little warm and a L

9:29 people from California say how warm it

9:30 is and how hot it is it is not hot here

9:33 it is a little warm there's a tiny bit

9:35 of humidity but compared to Florida it

9:37 is heaven here it is very nice and the

9:41 atmosphere definitely not as humid as it

9:44 is here what was I saying I lost my

9:46 train of thought talking about

9:48 crowdfunding talking about me traveling

9:50 other ideas oh yeah the movie filming

9:53 locations the way I make money is off of

9:55 a few ads on some of the videos you know

9:57 when you watch a YouTuber's videos there

10:00 will be a little ad beforehand well a

10:02 YouTuber gets a small percentage of that

10:04 Pennies on the dollar but over thousands

10:08 and thousands of views those YouTubers

10:11 could make a small percentage and a

10:13 little bitty small tiny bit of income

10:17 most of my incomes comes off of the

10:19 t-shirts which in a way is its own

10:21 crowdfunding but a lot of people have

10:23 said I want to actually contribute more

10:25 to your ideas than just buying a t-shirt

10:28 maybe they have already already got the

10:30 t-shirts maybe you sir ma'am children

10:33 already own all of the Adam the woo

10:35 shirts that you can possibly wear and

10:37 you want to contribute to a patreon

10:39 account so this is my question oh yeah

10:44 locations speaking of the ads all of my

10:47 filming locations I have done 50 plus

10:50 filming locations so think about it the

10:52 earnest ghost to Camp the Back to the

10:54 Future the pe's big adventure going to

10:57 Ohio and filming Shaw Shank ion Florida

11:00 the my girl filming locations the Flight

11:02 of the Navigator filming locations go

11:04 over to my Adam the woo Channel look up

11:06 playlist and look up to filming

11:07 locations I have done a ton of filming

11:10 locations that holds a very special

11:12 place in my heart and I have hundreds of

11:14 other filming location ideas the problem

11:17 is because I use Clips so when people

11:21 watch the videos I think a lot of people

11:23 really want to see what is actually

11:25 happening in the clip like if I showed

11:27 this brick wall and said oh this was the

11:29 brick wall from this movie can't you

11:32 picture this actor standing right here

11:34 if you do not have a frame of reference

11:37 of the actor standing there then you

11:39 would not understand what I'm trying to

11:41 explain that's why I put the movie clips

11:42 in that's why I put some of the music in

11:44 and that is why I do not put any ads I

11:46 do not monetize any of the videos for

11:50 the filming location video so that is

11:52 all a labor of love I don't make any

11:54 money on that so people have suggested

11:57 start a patreon account and the way

11:59 patreon kind of works the way I can I

12:03 can kind of figure it out help me out

12:56 more than 20% will dislike like this

13:05 crowdfunding idea and a crowdsourcing

13:11 totally agree with you to a degree

13:14 because that is the way my mentality

13:24 account now there are a couple different

13:25 ways from what I have discovered in the

13:27 last two days of researching other

13:30 creators patreon accounts there's a

13:32 couple different ways you can do it you

13:36 per video where I will release a video a

13:39 week early let's say a patreon will

13:42 actually pledge a dollar a month and

13:44 they will get a video a week early and

13:46 there's other ways which I think the

13:48 other way is better where basically I

13:49 set plateaus like if I get this certain

13:52 amount per month I will actually promise

13:54 to go do something every month at this

13:56 level and if it's a diff if it's a level

13:59 this I will make other promises to do

14:01 things even on a more extreme level

14:04 based on those funds and up and up and

14:06 up and I'm thinking that might be the

14:08 best way but this is not all about my

14:10 opinions in fact I am very dumbfounded

14:14 when it comes to this whole patreon

14:18 experience so I would like your opinions

14:20 either about patreon which Avenue I

14:22 should go with or should I just say get

14:24 out of here just only do the t-shirts

14:27 just rely on the t-shirts just rely on
