0:19 I should purchase the Hat it's actually

0:21 a fitted hat I probably won't wear this

0:23 every day but in honor of my Gatlinburg

0:26 trip I was in Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge

0:29 area with the exception of me going to

0:31 Cherokee for a few days I was in that

0:33 area for about 2 and 1 half 3 weeks I

0:37 have fallen in love with Gatlinburg in

0:39 particular I do love Pigeon Forge

0:41 Dollywood is there there's a lot of

0:42 wonderful wacky roadside attractions

0:45 however Gatlinberg man it's definitely

0:47 becoming one of my favorite places

0:51 anywhere that I've been and I've been to

0:52 a lot of places it's not the number one

0:55 but it's definitely in the top 10

0:58 locations in the US that I love to stop

1:00 at relax chill if you will and speaking

1:05 of chilling it is 35° out here I should

1:08 probably be wearing gloves there is no

1:10 snow on the ground however it is chilly

1:16 icicles that are dangling not dangling

2:02 and a half from Gatlinburg go through

2:06 Knoxville you go a little bit north it's

2:08 called Rocky Top now but a lot of places

2:11 still refer to it as Lake City Tennessee

2:14 in fact if you Google it Google Lake

2:16 City it will automatically redirect you

2:19 to a Google image map of Rocky Top

2:23 Tennessee and the town has actually gone

2:25 through a few incarnations of names

2:29 based on ISM because they keep trying to

2:31 change the name to get more tourists to

2:33 stop off here to make the market Thrive

2:36 and actually give more money into the

2:38 industry of the town so the town

2:41 actually is in between two names Lake

2:43 City and Rocky Top most of the signs say

2:46 Lake City but all the police officers

2:48 the fire department when they're driving

2:50 around they all say Rocky Top Tennessee

2:53 and what does Rocky Top have that most

2:56 places don't have a movie rental place

3:00 look at that movie rentals which of

3:03 course like a lot of places have gone

3:06 out of business but they still have the

3:07 sign right up there remember the old VHS

3:10 cassette tapes which if you remember my

3:12 other trucker hat that I still have it's

3:14 in the van which is parked right over

3:17 there actually has a monster holding a

3:20 VHS tape and remember captain from the

3:23 other day the little boy that I did the

3:25 Vlog with he was a actually asking what

3:27 is on your hat and it was hard to

3:30 explain because to a young child they

3:33 don't know what a VHS cassette tape is

3:36 unless they go garage saling or to

3:38 thrift stores which very few children do

3:40 that unless the parents actually teach

3:43 them the the joy of thrifting they

3:46 probably do not know what a VHS tape is

3:49 it's interesting you know in my era and

3:51 probably a lot of people watching these

3:53 Vlogs VHS tapes to us are still kind of

3:55 relevant in some way shape or form to a

3:57 child they don't even know what that is

3:59 even Blu-rays are slowly but surely

4:02 going to become a thing of the past with

4:05 not Blu-rays DVDs because Blu-rays have

4:07 taken over and eventually Blu-rays will

4:09 probably be gone everything will be

4:10 digital or downloaded it's so insane to

4:13 think that movie

4:16 rentals have basically became a thing of

4:19 the past there is red box but who knows

4:20 how long red box is even going to last

4:23 anymore with Netflix taking over so the

4:26 subject of today's Vlog is the movies

4:31 and these awesome mountains in the

4:33 background here and speaking of the VHS

4:36 generation speaking of video cassettes

4:40 the mid 80 80s 1980s it's very cold my

4:44 mouth is actually numbing up in this

4:47 35 degree weather but I'm trying to say

4:50 I'm trying to put two and two together

4:52 the 1980s were full of joy and magic and

4:56 awesome movies and it all festooned into

4:59 a vicarious piece of goodness known as

5:02 the video cassette generation the mid

5:05 80s especially and in 1986 a movie came

5:09 out and was released on VHS and in the

5:11 movie theaters that was actually filmed

7:38 the beginning of King Kong Lives we find

7:40 out he's actually alive Linda Hamilton

7:43 isn't that her name Sakana I'm looking

7:45 for Sakana she was flying right over

7:48 there she was responsible for taking

7:50 care of King Kong the giant ape which

7:54 when you watch the movie it's basically

7:56 just a guy in a monkey suit and there

10:39 the facts and figures of the 1986 sequel

10:46 Lives which I've read that a lot of

10:49 people who actually are big fans of King

10:51 Kong in general actually do like the

10:54 sequel however the sequel cost $15

10:58 million to make and it only made between

11:01 4 and $5 million back at the box office

11:05 30 to 40% of what it cost to make that

11:09 movie actually was made back at the box

11:12 office and that my friends is called a

11:15 box office failure which in Hollywood

11:19 terms is definitely not something that

11:21 you really want to

11:23 achieve okay so let me show you this

12:46 parks also last night was a chili cook

12:48 off I ate so much chili they closed off

12:51 the roads in Gatlinburg oh my gosh I ate

12:55 so much chili it was not a pleasant even

12:59 evening after the fact heartburn but I

13:02 had probably three gallons total of

13:05 chili 25 to 30 sample cups oh my gosh

13:10 absolutely amazing so here is this match

17:48 down to Chattanooga who knows after that

17:50 probably heading back to Florida for

17:53 about a month hopefully be chilling in

17:54 Florida because after that I'm planning

17:57 a full us trip cross country to the west

18:00 coast up and over all next year so I do

18:02 need to get a little bit of rest through

18:05 the holidays and I do miss my mom and

18:07 dad want to see them for the December

18:10 holidays so I will keep you posted
