1:13 massive this fossil cave bear appears to
1:18 have as I don't think his eyeball is
1:23 historically correct and if you get too

1:30 or dismembered your hand this was a
1:31 giant fossil fish known as a Porteous
1:35 molasses look at that there's so much so
1:41 much bizarre items in here the magnetic
1:44 is the only rock found in nature
1:49 that's magnetic look at that it almost
1:53 looks like it has hair on it I've never
1:56 seen anything like that before for
1:58 $1,800 you could get the cast of an
2:02 Allosaurus has left foot that's not only
2:05 his foot that's his whole freaking leg
2:07 there's a photo of lent auditor and one
2:11 of the original vehicles he used to take
2:12 on the tours back from 1964 and here's
2:15 another item that he ended up finding in
2:19 1971 something called a malachite man is
2:24 that for my sheep is that from a human

2:28 state can be seen behind this little
2:30 crystal ball don't try to touch it dower
2:33 Cal Kong well yeah like three different
2:36 tracks here by the exit door including
2:39 one that belonged to a lattice or some
2:42 fascinating stuff in there I think we
2:44 found something that might actually
2:46 outlast
2:47 dinosaur bones aluminum cans their
2:50 mascots wavin doll the passer buying
2:53 traffic the theming out front is pretty
2:56 cool too they have all these old mine
2:58 carts that one tipped over heading
3:01 southbound on us 191
3:05 this is the view out the right window
3:18 I'm bad at all that there it is the hole
3:18 and the rock displayed very prominently
3:23 the advertisement painted across the
3:26 side of the ginormous Boulder parked out
3:29 front is this Jeep with a very
3:31 interesting exterior see it's made
3:33 completely out of license plates the
3:37 wheels and even the seats are made out
3:41 of wrenches and metal there's some some
3:45 tools and they're probably not very
3:46 comfortable you look hungry here get a
3:49 carrot take that carry here grab it grab

4:26 it in there noticing in the feed bucket
4:28 there's also some cereal in there you
4:31 want some cereal you want some cereal
4:50 feel free to stop at any time
4:50 it's gonna keep going you done okay gosh
4:57 I don't think you're ever gonna stop
4:58 this Tiki has a spring on his neck I
5:00 don't know if I've ever seen a Tiki with
5:03 a dislodged head and a neck of a spring
5:05 before that's that's different
5:06 around the back looks to be like there's
5:08 some old neon from some of the local
5:10 motels Silver Spur and back there the
5:15 lodge old prospector trying to pull
5:17 along his donkey he's being very
5:20 stubborn he doesn't does it really want
5:22 to move this whole property was once
5:24 owned by husband and wife who originally
5:27 blasted holes in the side of the
5:29 mountain and lived here had a homestead
5:31 and when they passed away they were laid
5:34 to rest right up here in this cavern the
5:38 Kristen since Albert died in 1957 but
5:41 his wife kept the place running
5:44 opened a trading post and she eventually
5:47 passed away in 1974 according to this
5:50 sign Bigfoot is down here in the shrub
5:53 areas down in the shrub sets oh I get it
5:57 it's just a it's just a Bigfoot don't
5:59 quite understand this however US Army
6:03 property no trespassing but if I peek
6:07 over the fence line there's some sort of
6:10 weird chair something that you put on
6:13 your head and this mechanism is States
6:19 experimental hairdo machine oh it's just
6:23 for it's for doing hair you know the
6:25 more I stare at mater
6:27 I think it's an imposter eita valerie
6:30 has not visited the dentist's in a while
6:32 he's only got one and large tooth I
6:37 don't think this is mater there's a
6:39 gentleman up there and a bucket being
6:41 hoisted to the top of a mountain
6:44 he's a miner I said been tough being a
6:47 miner whenever you use the facilities
6:51 you'd always have the mind boss above
6:54 you also using the restroom you know
6:58 what they say you're done goes downhill
7:02 yeah cross this place has a little bit
7:05 of everything including an outdoor jail
7:08 tiny concrete Buffalo and even a knight
7:12 see him over there hiding in the shadows
7:20 he's got a weapon it's just barely out
7:20 of the open elements are these two
7:23 vintage arcade games round up and miss
7:27 pac-man sadly neither one of them are
7:30 working almost like a miniature Mount
7:32 Rushmore
7:32 there's FDR carved on the side just
7:37 staring out just there now you can see
7:39 where they place the rooms inside where
7:42 they blasted out the holes I think you
7:44 can go inside there 5,000 square-foot
7:47 home yep a 12-minute tour is available
7:52 however this doesn't look good wham wham
7:54 wham where decided to go ahead and do
7:56 the tour anyway after paying the
7:58 admission price and entering into the
8:00 former diner that is now a gift shop you
8:02 see behind me they took me into a big
8:04 open area that was the homestead and
8:06 inside that huge room there are three
8:09 rock pillars that act not only as
8:12 structural support but also for room
8:15 dividers
8:15 when you first enter was the former
8:18 seating area where the guests would eat
8:20 their meals you have to walk through
8:21 there to get to the kitchen and then
8:23 into all the rooms where the family
8:27 resided where I'm now walking used to be
8:29 a very large hole all the rocks that
8:33 were inside they took out placed here to
8:35 elevate this added pavement and
8:39 you got a parking lot not really sure
8:41 why they don't allow filming but at
8:43 least I can always say I've been inside
8:44 the hole in the rock just down the ways
8:48 a bit is this archway natural formation
8:53 check that out Wow sipping right along
8:57 we should be getting pretty close to one
8:59 of my favorite places Monument Valley
9:01 right up there is one of the iconic
9:03 pieces of this area's landscape referred
9:06 to and known as the Mexican Hat Rock if
9:10 all goes well about two miles down this
9:12 dirt road should be a remnant of movie
9:15 history from 1968 I'm really curious to
9:20 see if it still exists out here in the
9:23 desert
9:23 holy crap it's still here the archway
9:28 from once upon a time in the Old West
9:30 starring Henry Fonda and Charles Bronson
9:33 or at least a portion of the arch Wow
9:37 look at that
9:37 of course in the film it went all the
9:39 way across completing the arch and this
9:45 is where the famous scene with the
9:47 harmonica and the hanging took place
9:51 there was a dolly shot that pullback
9:54 wide and went kind of high from what I
10:00 can tell this
10:02 there's also sections of concrete they
10:05 laid down to do that dolly shot on
10:10 amazing that's the screenshot Monument
10:14 Valley in the back and there's there's
10:17 the arch that image was also used in
10:20 even one of the movie posters check that
10:23 out pieces of wood there in the middle
10:25 angled upward where it would have gone
10:28 across and you can see how they built it
10:31 by looking down inside it's pretty much
10:34 hollow down in there whatever whatever
10:40 happened to the rest of it what happened
10:43 to the top section pretty crazy to think
10:45 that this is half a century old 50 years
10:48 old these have just been out here
10:51 braving the elements in the middle of
10:54 the desert I love stuff like this this
11:00 is good stuff heck yeah
11:09 more pieces of the wood here at the base
11:09 they built a frame completely out of
11:12 lumber and then put the brick around it
11:16 to complete the task I'll put the link
11:18 from the clip from the movie in the
11:20 description box if you want to watch it
11:22 and get a better perspective of what
11:25 you're currently looking at you can
11:26 definitely see why they chose that spot
11:28 way up on the hill looking down upon
11:29 that view for a Western does it get much
11:33 better of a backdrop and that's gonna do
11:36 it for today if you're new here please
