0:07 2024 just got dropped off my friend Jim
0:09 here in Denver at the Denver
0:12 International Airport I got my bag here
0:16 I got my suitcase
0:18 here and I will be boarding a flight
0:21 back to Orlando which
0:24 coincidentally will be taking
0:27 place during the eclipse
0:30 and I am hoping so basically where the
0:34 path of totality is happening I'm going
0:36 to be going over Arkansas
0:39 is halfway through my flight I have a
0:42 4-Hour flight when I am departing if
0:44 everything goes correctly I will be give
0:47 or take a half hour in the path of
0:49 totality most likely high enough above
0:53 any clouds or inclement weather and I
0:56 have a window
0:58 seat see what happens I'm going home
1:01 only for a few days I get back to
1:03 Orlando I'm there for 3 4 5 days give or
1:06 take a day and then I'm off again to
1:08 other spots but this might work out
1:10 really well I'm inviting you to join me
1:12 for Eclipse day
1:14 2024 I went you the eclipse back of 2017
1:18 I believe it was I was in the path of
1:20 totality in Idaho Falls Idaho this time
1:24 I'll be in the sky join me I got to get
1:26 to my gate shall you flying United
1:30 flew here on United flying back on
1:33 United heading over into the West
1:37 Section I got about an hour till boards
1:40 till boarding now the last 2 days there
1:42 were hundreds multiple hundreds of
1:45 flights that did not happen either
1:47 canceled or postponed and I thought
1:49 maybe there'd be a little busier people
1:51 showing up to try to catch uh connecting
1:54 flights reschedule flights things like
1:56 that but honestly this does not look too
1:59 terribly bad at the moment and I believe
2:02 there are two I'm going to the gates to
2:04 the a Gates so I believe I can either go
2:06 through this way or I can walk over to a
2:08 bridge to the other one so I'm going to
2:10 ask one of the employees and see if this
2:12 is where I need to go or if I can go
2:13 over the bridge but this usually I've
2:15 been here once or twice before is
2:17 usually insanely backed up this doesn't
2:19 look too terribly bad okay I just asked
2:21 a very helpful worker here she was
2:24 saying yes go this way all the way to
2:27 the end and I will avoid that checkpoint
2:29 and then I will end up finding another
2:31 one at the end of this little gate this
2:32 little section here this little thare
2:34 okay recommended for a Gates 5:00 a.m.
2:37 to 5:30 no TSA pre-check which I don't
2:39 have but that's where I'm going and it
2:42 is between those hours someone else
2:44 walking down there too so maybe a little
2:47 hidden
2:53 hallway construction
2:53 update kind of excited if again crossing
2:56 my fingers that this works out with the
2:59 eclip I don't know how much I'll be able
3:02 to see but I do have a window seat and
3:04 I'll probably be able to
3:06 see
3:16 something walking at an extremely fast
3:16 rate of speed
3:18 because I'm not only walking but I'm
3:21 also on a moving platform passing all
3:24 these different exhibits that new
3:25 exhibit is loading soon some little
3:28 artistic pieces here creative Endeavors
3:32 in these
3:33 exhibits oh yeah look over there I can
3:37 see all the United
3:45 planes don't have to take a shuttle or
3:45 anything at least to the a Gates holy
3:48 cow there is no one up here look at this
3:51 there is no
3:53 one up here this is going to be a
3:56 complete
3:58 walk-on no way whatsoever there's just
4:00 one lady in front of
4:03 me man I looked
4:05 out there's no one there's only one lady
4:07 in front of me on this one all right
4:09 that was the quickest I've gone through
4:10 a checkpoint at an airport in probably
4:14 ever one person in front of me like even

4:19 Airport in you know Orange County
4:21 California he doesn't have weight that
4:23 short the bridge walking across the
4:26 bridge for the win now I got plenty of
4:28 time just to walk walk over there to
4:30 where all those United planes one of
4:32 those could possibly be mine if not one
4:35 will pull out and pull into the same
4:36 little parking spot but one of those are
4:38 mine yeah I think from now on if I fly
4:41 in and out of Denver I'm going to choose
4:42 this Airline for these Gates because you
4:45 bypass and it could be because they're
4:46 doing a lot of that construction maybe
4:48 people don't know you can go this way
4:49 but
4:56 wow
4:56 a27 is what I'm looking for

5:06 Airport oh look at that there's snow

5:48 not even there's a couple people walking
5:49 by there's an employee walking by and
5:51 those are all the departures and
5:54 arrivals this where the train is over
5:56 here to getting off the aate but I
5:59 didn't have to take a train I just
6:00 walked all right got to look over the
6:01 entire board here got arrivals over
6:04 there which I'm not arriving I am
6:06 departing and mine this is a very
6:09 interesting coincidence I remember how I
6:11 just mentioned how John Wayne Orange
6:13 County has uh you know hardly any weight
6:16 or anything when you're trying to like
6:17 get dropped off to to go board a flight
6:19 it's directly above Orange County is
6:23 directly above where I'm going to or
6:25 that's just a weird coincidence my
6:26 flight is right here departs at 10 10 12
6:31 a27 flight number
6:34 1451 so coinciding 2 hours from this the
6:38 time zone I will be
6:40 in should be around the time 2 hour
6:44 halfway through the flight is when the
6:45 eclipse should be reaching totality over
6:48 that Arkansas Oklahoma border
6:51 threshold hopefully looking for
6:55 a27 like it's going to be right over
6:58 here there's a26 it's 32 kind of right
7:01 here at the little cusp there the little
7:04 turning point you can either go that
7:05 direction to 40 to 66 or under 40s over
7:11 here all right now that I've got over to
7:13 where the train dropped off a little
7:16 more people over in this area but I'm
7:17 not far from my gate this is 835 right
7:20 up here so I only have about nine gates
7:22 to go for a moment I thought I was an
7:24 826 but actually I'm an a27 this is a31
7:28 same airline United right there got the
7:30 control tower off in the
7:33 distance this guy's carrying a
7:35 ladder all right this guy appears to be
7:38 fueling
7:39 up right over here at
8:13 ah that is a thing of beauty right there
8:13 on time after two straight days of
8:17 flights being pushed back removed not
8:21 happening delayed on time on Monday
8:26 April 8th as I'm filming this it's 9:05
8:29 right now now boarding time it's at 9:32
8:32 activated departure
8:39 10:15 one ticket for path the totality
8:40 please of course I've already already
8:42 purchased a ticket so I don't know why
8:43 I'm saying that but yeah all right
8:45 there's a 27A and a 27b BBE I'm on a
8:49 this one's pulling it over to
8:51 25A seeing it pulling in with the
8:55 luggage cart going by and I did ask the
8:57 guy just confirm my ticket at the front
9:00 desk at the little gang way walk-off
9:03 area and he was saying that it's looking
9:06 like about the point halfway point of
9:09 the flight it will be around give or
9:11 take a half hour the path of
9:17 totality had good luck so far today so I
9:17 was going to knock on wood but I don't
9:19 want to knock on this glass these
9:21 eclipse glasses were from
9:23 2017 my buddy Jim who I stayed with the
9:25 last few days he had a pair he goes you
9:27 can use these I don't know if I'm going
9:29 to need them on the plane looking
9:31 through the window if I do get to look
9:33 in the Sun by the time it starts to
9:35 diminish you know once it starts to the
9:37 eclipse starts to happen probably won't
9:40 need them looking out the window cuz
9:42 I've but when I was in Idaho Falls the
9:44 time before also I guess this was the
9:47 date when I was in uh when the last
9:51 totality one
9:53 happened I'm just guessing based on the
9:55 glasses I used to have a pair of these
9:56 but didn't bring any with me I don't
9:58 think I even still have them but got the
10:01 3D glasses here not 3D what am I saying
10:04 they look like 3D glasses but they are
10:06 eclipse
10:07 glasses I'm going to be having on
10:14 the I could use on the flight or I could
10:14 just have them as a momento to remember
10:16 this occasion as well this would be my
10:17 second
10:18 eclipse and see what happens with
10:22 the out the window seat and it really
10:25 was kind of unplanned I knew I had this
10:27 a lot of time frame I knew the e clipse
10:29 is going to happen today but did not
10:31 strategically plan out the totality
10:34 pathway but man if it works out it is
10:37 it's going to be awesome to experience
10:38 it above any clouds that might be over
10:41 Arkansas Oklahoma in that in that
10:43 pathway these are kind of neat right
10:46 you're supposed to like put them on so
10:47 you can look at the Sun that way you
10:50 don't you know you don't have any major
10:53 issues I don't know how well they would
10:54 work though from the perspective I'm
10:56 trying to
10:57 show anyway you get you get the idea
11:00 they just they help they help they help
11:01 block out this up all right my seat is
11:05 2f 2f is my seat I did confirm it is a
11:10 window seat oh yeah
11:41 a little bit of an older model plane
11:41 with the ashtray still 3 hours and 3
11:44 minutes to Orlando today we should be
11:47 pushing back momentarily uh sched pars
11:49 tomorrow after and we'll Havey on the
11:51 way little bit under block leing update
11:53 once we get airb go
12:17 reat to be seated also we know that
12:17 there's going to be an eclipse by if you
12:19 see anything we'll let you guys know if
12:21 you see anything it should be on the
13:16 all right take it
13:16 off into the
13:25 eclipse well not really into it but you
13:25 know what I mean
14:03 little bit of turbulence a lot of
14:03 turbulence coming out of going out of
14:10 Denver one of the good things about
14:11 being this elevated up is if it gets
14:13 thick cloud cover which they're
14:15 predicting over the Texas Arkansas Area
14:19 will be above that in the
14:21 plane watching some new stuff at the
14:24 airport right we were taking off and
14:26 they were saying in Texas there might be
14:27 a thick layer of cloud
14:29 so if you're on the ground you might
14:30 have a TR trouble seeing it not too many
14:33 clouds here but once they get over Texas
14:35 and
14:36 Arkansas be above the clouds
15:13 and for lunch I have opted for the cob
15:13 salad kind of glad they had a salad
15:16 option I got the little chicken on the
15:18 side there that comes with a dessert but
15:20 I'm trying not to eat dessert so we not
15:22 be eating the slice
15:23 of cake over there or pie yeah check out
15:28 the C salad there's no Brown Derby cob
15:31 salad by any means at Hollywood Studios
15:33 but get the
15:48 idea it's very bright outside too and
15:48 that should be diminishing very soon
15:49 probably about another hour till the
15:52 path of totality area again not going to
15:55 be precisely down to the minute but
15:58 should be able to see some
16:00 visual noticeability if you will
16:31 all right cloud cover is definitely
16:32 rolling in
16:37 now yeah right through the Midwest a lot
16:37 of clouds
17:09 all right there's a little condensation
17:09 on the window and I have to get really
17:12 low down almost like below my knees and
17:15 angle it up so my I have my camera down
17:20 here and angling it up looking through
17:23 the windows to get the sun cuz the sun
17:25 is way up here
18:32 I get into that very cloudy area again I
18:32 have to angle up upward from the bottom
18:35 of the window looking
18:37 up almost above where the window is to
18:40 get the view of the Sun and as I was
18:43 checking watching a news report on the
18:46 plane looks like it's about a quarter of
18:49 the eclipse at the moment over the area
18:51 I'm in so it should start engulfing the
18:55 the sun soon
19:03 still pretty bright out there at the
19:03 moment at the moment
19:07 anyway got both windows open got to get
19:09 a good view if it
19:11 happens kind of we're angling
19:20 now and I might not see the complete
19:20 Eclipse but I'll probably going to see
19:23 more than anyone that's on the ground
19:24 below those clouds
20:27 now flying through the cloud so little
20:27 turbulence
21:02 all right this is the first indication
21:02 that I've noticed with my own eyes that
21:04 it's not as bright out there as it has
21:07 been the last couple
21:09 hours I think it'll be pretty soon
21:11 happening I think I may be a little out
21:13 of the path of totality but not too far
21:16 I'm not directly in it but I'm pretty
21:17 dang close where I'm going to be able to
21:19 see the I'm going to be able to see the
21:21 the
21:22 darkness all right watching a news
21:24 report on the plane the totality is now
21:27 at this exact moment hitting
21:29 Fredericksburg
21:30 Texas which I believe we have passed by
21:33 about a half hour so I don't know if
21:35 I'll be on the path of totality the
21:38 plane would have departed about a half
21:39 hour late I think it would have been
21:41 exactly at the moment
21:43 but doesn't look like we're going to get
21:45 totality just just a little little
21:48 dusess yeah looking at the map here
21:52 already pass the
21:54 totality I'm guessing probably by about
21:56 a half hour 45 minutes
22:08 though the totality is just up there on
22:08 the Texas Arkansas
22:11 border kind of passing by just a little
22:14 bit pretty close though
22:55 now yeah that was a little snippet from
22:55 the photo from the news that's over
22:58 Dallas at this very moment you can see
23:01 what a difference it is an hour back
23:03 plane
23:04 ride than it is right here
23:08 total immersion of the sun totality in
23:12 Dallas happening right now back behind
23:15 us a flight attendant came through and
23:18 alerted everyone that we miss it by just
23:20 a little bit when you're going at this
23:23 speed it's really hard to time it and
23:26 she was a little disappointed too I
23:27 think the flight attend also wanted to
23:29 be able to witness it out the windows
23:32 got a little bit of a lull in the
23:34 sunlight but didn't go through totality
23:37 missed it by just a little bit again
23:40 when you're speeding along at hundreds
23:41 and hundreds of miles an hour you only
23:43 have a very limited window
24:06 one thing's for sure though it
24:06 definitely is not as bright and sunny
24:09 outside as it normally would be at this
24:11 moment of the day what physics man so
24:14 there is a little bit of a partial
24:17 eclipse just part a
24:22 partial then again I do not know the
24:24 exact partiality that is over Central
24:28 Florida
24:33 50% I don't know I'm just throwing
24:33 numbers out
24:51 there yeah there's the I4 eyesore right
24:51 there I4 I
26:38 you definitely is not as bright out as
26:38 it usually is and I think it's
26:40 already already way past the time for
26:43 the eclipse so it should be start
26:44 brightening up a little more
26:53 too I have arrived back in Orlando
26:53 Florida for a few days three or four or
26:56 five days give or take a day can't
26:58 recall the exact amount but not here for
27:00 too long but I am going to head back
27:09 home arrived at MCO Orlando
27:09 International just on the cus very very
27:12 close to being right in the path of to
27:15 totality man that was close rolled the
27:18 dice took a chance just a little off
27:21 again think everyone on the plane was a
27:24 little bummed flight attendant was a
27:28 little saddened by the fact that it
27:29 didn't happen either but man it was
27:31 close I think if the flight would have
27:33 been delayed about 45 minutes or if they
27:35 would have flown a little slower it
27:37 would have
27:42 happened the sky was a little darker
27:42 than normal though that that is for
27:43 certain and outside I can tell outside
27:46 it's not quite as
27:52 bright all right that's going to do it
