0:02 today's adventure begins as a recording
0:02 of the Sunday October night 2022 across
0:07 the street is that grocery store
0:09 that used to be a bank
0:11 it's a trust company but now it's a
0:12 grocery store but that
0:14 is not one I want to focus on I want to
0:16 focus on this weighted Double L right
0:19 here that the wind is blowing around
0:23 look at this
0:25 Triple L there's an L here
0:27 there's an L here and there's an L here
0:30 and it's very Gusty very windy so this
0:33 thing
0:34 his turn
0:37 look at it it's shifting welcome
0:39 everyone out of the woo here
0:42 exploring Ryan
0:44 also in the house outside the house
0:46 outside of the hotel
0:48 I think today is going to be the most
0:50 Pleasant of our three days this is our
0:52 third day here
1:00 full day here
1:00 today we're going to go to the Rock and
1:02 Roll Hall of Fame we're gonna go to a
1:04 couple cemeteries
1:06 and we're just going to wander around
1:07 downtown we did not rent a car so we
1:09 might have to take an Uber I don't know
1:11 what we're gonna do you have any ideas
1:13 we're gonna see some koi oh
1:19 there's a there's one there how many's
1:21 in there there's two there there are
1:23 three uh Urban Plates oh okay I like the
1:26 koi that are in the water here
1:29 are those petunias
1:31 I haven't done that I haven't done I
1:33 haven't done that bit explain the ding
1:35 thing that is the inside joke belt when
1:37 I was on radio it's a Cleveland thing
1:38 when somebody uh mentions their
1:40 catchphrase or an inside joke we'd hit
1:43 the the ding real quick all right yeah
1:45 what would your catchphrase be on your
1:47 channel uh either uh uh do just a little
1:51 exploring ding or uh that's probably
1:55 just a little score oh hello ladies and
1:59 gentlemen it is I your uncle's floor
2:00 there it is there we go I'm inviting you
2:02 to join me
2:05 Charlie now at this intersection is the
2:07 Saint John the Baptist Cathedral quite
2:10 an impressive and beautiful
2:12 looking sculpture
2:15 well not a sculpture a building and this
2:18 is a beacon of goodness right here a
2:20 little a little donkey a little D and D
2:23 I don't think I don't think coffee has
2:26 ever been referred to as the the board
2:28 game but yeah a little
2:30 we need a piping hot caffeinated
2:31 beverage we both went with hot coffees I
2:34 went with the large you went with the
2:36 medium and take a look up here at this
2:38 owl who is focusing in intently on this
2:42 skeleton little doorway here on the exit
2:46 to Duncans okay my head is a little cold
2:48 so for twenty dollars I picked up one of
2:50 these little caps here it says Cleveland
2:52 on it I think it's a Browns cap but my
2:53 head's just cold so thanks man
2:58 doesn't say Brown's on it says Cleveland
2:58 so I got myself pick myself up a a
3:01 little souvenir
3:07 cause this brisk out here
3:07 now just to clarify I am not a I don't I
3:11 don't really go to football games I'm
3:12 not going to a football game but there's
3:14 a lot of people behind me that are right
3:16 now
3:17 what is this called
3:19 it's a second City Strange Brew
3:23 reference I was like with Rick Moranis
3:25 what was the other guy's name
3:27 not to be confused with the guy that
3:29 created Wendy yeah I don't know
3:32 all right you guys you guys ready
3:39 are you in the pound today yes nice
3:39 there you go have fun
3:41 and once again not going in there just
3:44 passing by you but take a look at the
3:46 little train station there that's pretty
3:47 cool and it almost looks like a little
3:49 Dome over there as well in the distance
3:51 it's the science center now I have been
3:53 inside this building before it's
3:54 probably been I don't know four five six
3:56 years ago give or take
3:58 and there is a mar I'm gonna go back in
4:00 as well not gonna be a full tour but I
4:02 definitely want to stop it I always like
4:03 seeing these cbgb's awning it's a big
4:06 you know punk rock CBS
4:08 fan and some other stuff see if
4:09 anything's changes but this says
4:11 birthplace of rock and roll Cleveland
4:13 Ohio when radio station
4:15 wjw disc jockey Allen free to pass away
4:18 in 65 use the term rock and roll to
4:20 describe the Up Tempo black rhythm and
4:21 blues record he played at the beginning
4:22 of 1951. he named it genre a popular
4:25 music to appeal the audiences of both
4:27 sides
4:28 in the 1950s
4:31 the birthplace of rock and roll
4:34 marker and this is kind of a win in row
4:37 moment because I stated I did pop in
4:39 here before but I got to thinking when
4:41 is the next time I'll probably ever be
4:43 back in Cleveland so I figured I might
4:45 as well stop in honestly when was the
4:48 next time we'll be back in Cleveland we
4:49 did the Wild Card series my team lost
5:05 yeah they're not quite open yet still a
5:05 few more minutes before the doors open
5:07 but take a look at this this is from the
5:09 house of cash in Hendersonville
5:11 Tennessee this is Johnny Cash's tour bus
5:15 right here this is awesome
5:17 it's a motor coach Cruiser mc9
5:21 and Johnny Cash himself
5:23 was in there touring
5:26 says J cash one on the front
5:28 also says closed
5:30 on the front over there
5:32 love Johnny Cash
5:34 this is right here
5:40 off in the distance downtown Cleveland
5:40 Skyline and that is kind of peeking in
5:42 the front window there kind of looking
5:44 at the the seats the little pull out
5:46 beds all those kind of things and a
5:50 staple here in Cleveland are these
5:52 insects which sport and Ryan told me
5:55 they have no mouths and they only
5:56 survive about two days and these are
5:59 everywhere and anywhere around the
6:03 Greater Cleveland area
6:06 all over now I'm seeing an assortment of
6:08 ducks over there swimming in the lake
6:10 but also this rather large ship called
6:13 the Cleveland Cliffs
6:16 and I believe there's also a submarine
6:19 somewhere in this General neighborhood
6:20 also see if I can find it as I'm walking
6:22 over to find the submarine so you got a
6:25 generator here a lot of people doing a
6:27 little tailgating before the game just
6:29 passing through but look at number 46
6:31 this is called the lambulance you know
6:34 because Cleve land we got the city
6:37 skyline there and then it says the land
6:40 viewlets
6:41 and here's another bus right here Hall
6:44 painted brown and everything everyone's
6:46 just partying down and now walking past
6:49 the submarine I always kind of neat to
6:51 see a submarine right here on the
6:52 shoreline it looks like somebody's over
6:53 there doing a little work on it passing
6:56 by the sub and now it appears as if the
6:59 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should be
7:01 open and gonna pop in real quick and
7:03 just see we can see
7:05 long live rock and I have procured a
7:10 little bench over here a little picnic
7:12 table along with I'll show this after I
7:14 kind of describe what I saw inside the
7:15 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a little
7:18 merch
7:20 a little merch pickup that I purchased
7:21 inside there but when you first walk in
7:23 you go inside and you go down an
7:25 escalator and one of the main things I
7:27 wanted to see was the CBGB awning back
7:31 from it was we were placed here back in
7:34 1987. the awning hung above the cbgb's
7:37 and served as a club signage from the
7:39 late 80s until it closed in 2006 the
7:42 original one
7:43 ended up being stolen so the original
7:46 one no longer exists anymore
7:49 I just want to show some of the other
7:50 stuff that I really kind of enjoy like
7:51 Hank Williams suit which was designed by
7:53 nudity Taylor rodeos in North Hollywood
7:55 I believe it is so you got Hank Williams
7:57 suit and some other Hank Williams
7:59 paraphernalia that is scattered through
8:01 the hall
8:02 and a lot of Elvis stuff so Elvis
8:04 Presley's custom motorcycle
8:06 sits here
8:07 1975 super trike which is made by super
8:10 trikes of Memphis Tennessee and of
8:12 course I love Elvis quite a bit
8:14 including one of Elvis's guitar in the
8:16 60s Gibson guitars offered a double neck
8:19 guitar in any configuration and Elvis
8:21 ended up playing one and was used during
8:24 spin out so this was actually screen
8:27 used during spin out and Elvis Presley's
8:29 suit as well which was designed by Bill
8:32 Ballou which was used I Believe In The
8:34 Comeback Special or one of the specials
8:37 yeah the 1968 Comeback Special according
8:40 to the the signage that's there now as
8:42 far as drum kits go this was used in a
8:44 lot of different things this was used by
8:45 drumu w s Holland who was who played
8:49 with Johnny Cash and this exact drum kit
8:51 was used in Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire
8:53 so you know I love Johnny Cash and it's
8:56 hard to imagine that the recording of
8:57 that this drum kit was actually used
9:01 use for that and Roy Orbison is another
9:03 one I'm just kind of like kind of giving
9:04 a brief brief amount of of items that I
9:07 kind of really thought were kind of
9:09 caught my eye some Roy Orbison stuff
9:10 here including jacket and sunglasses
9:13 Johnny Cash's suit a couple of different
9:15 Johnny Cash items as well used for cry
9:19 cry cry by Johnny Cash
9:21 uh the suit he wore in 1955 some Janice
9:24 Joplin stuff I love Janice Joplin uh her
9:28 some stuff she is she wore her
9:29 eyeglasses necklaces a chord chart
9:32 things like that and then you kind of go
9:34 into some punk rock stuff quite a bit of
9:36 punk rock history not only cbgbs but
9:38 just like the New York doll stuff and
9:40 things like that including a guitar that
9:43 was played by The Ramones steedie
9:45 Ramone's bass guitar and also a t-shirt
9:47 that said vicious wore from The Sex
9:49 Pistols so that's pretty awesome you
9:51 know I just definitely love punk rock
9:52 stuff Iggy Pop his jacket from 1980 1988
9:55 also in here so you got that and then
9:58 Sid Vicious The Sex Pistols chord chart
10:00 for my way which was released in 1978 so
10:03 you got Sid Vicious the chord chart so
10:05 this was this was handwritten by The Sex
10:07 Pistols here Angus Young from AC DC his
10:10 uh you know his uniform that he would
10:12 wear looking like a school kid and all
10:15 that kind of gives a little info on the
10:17 AC DC outfit and of course the grunge
10:19 scene got some Allison chain stuff some
10:21 Nirvana stuff things like that and then
10:24 continuing on he got a pinball machine
10:26 that was used by the Rolling Stones
10:28 Keith Richards kept and played this
10:30 exact machine and is dated 1980 but this
10:33 was at his home and and all that and of
10:35 course the Beatles Love The Beatles
10:36 Beatles one of my all-time favorite
10:38 bands a lot of John Lennon stuff
10:39 including John Lennon's passport Paul
10:41 McCartney's suit a John Lennon jacket
10:43 all that type of stuff and handwritten
10:46 Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds hand
10:49 written
10:51 by John Lennon and Paul McCartney on
10:53 this sheet of paper which is amazing to
10:55 even really think about Alice Cooper
10:56 there's some Alice Cooper stuff as well
10:58 I love Alice Cooper I've always been a
11:00 big fan of Green Day obviously I have a
11:02 plant girl on my on my arm tattooed but
11:05 you know I always remember the 1994
11:07 Woodstock what they called Mud stock
11:09 Mike dirt's Bass that he played and he
11:12 ended up getting I think he got his nose
11:13 broken or his face busted in that show
11:15 this is the bass he was playing and then
11:17 Billy Joe he was you know his shirt that
11:19 he was wearing that was completely
11:20 covered in mud that is here behind the
11:22 case too there's some Hendrick stuff
11:24 some of his guitars
11:26 Etc that's kind of scattered through
11:27 here and then Tom Petty the Tom Petty
11:30 outfit that he wore for the 1995 issue
11:32 of Rolling Stone is also here an outfit
11:36 for the MTV Music Awards and we talk
11:38 about the White Stripes of course Jack
11:40 White and Meg white Meg whites shirt
11:42 that she wore for Icky Thump on the
11:44 cover of that the 2007 album is in here
11:47 as well I'm going to go up the escalator
11:49 you kind of go up to a Pink Floyd The
11:50 Wall exhibit at the very top which is
11:53 kind of interesting and from there you
11:54 go into an area where they have even
11:56 more
11:57 very detailed stuff like Michael
11:59 Jackson's jacket from Thriller you think
12:01 of Michael Jackson you think of Thriller
12:02 and you think a lot of other things but
12:03 Thriller is so iconic and this is the
12:05 actual jacket that he wore in in that
12:08 music video and then moving on to more
12:09 Nirvana stuff Kurt Cobain actually saw
12:11 Kurt Cobain and Nirvana on the in utero
12:13 tour and the one on the guitar on the
12:15 left is when he was playing at the show
12:16 I saw in Lakeland Florida the one on the
12:18 right is the one the famous one where he
12:19 took the drill he had the guitar he
12:21 busted the guitar on stage and all that
12:22 and that you know pretty pretty wild to
12:24 even think about that this was the this
12:26 was the guitar that that Kurt Cobain
12:28 just busted during the in utero tour Joe
12:31 Strummer of course on a big Clash fan
12:33 Joe shrimmer's guitar is in here as well
12:36 so pretty pretty awesome that's just
12:37 kind of a roundabout items of some of
12:39 the things I saw some of the few things
12:41 that I just wanted to Showcase and with
12:43 the Rock Hall off in the distance yeah
12:45 the streets all closed off for everyone
12:46 heading into the Cleveland Browns game
12:48 all ConEd off and everything as well
12:52 you kind of see the pyramid off in the
12:56 distance and ended up picking up this
12:59 you are here shirt which is a shirt John
13:00 Lennon kind of made famous but I kind of
13:02 got it as well because you know I go to
13:04 a lot of places where I wonder where I
13:05 am and you see the little signs like the
13:07 the images and the guide Maps where it
13:09 says you are here so this kind of has a
13:10 dove reference because I love John
13:11 Lennon's solo stuff but also that you
13:14 are here so I picked this up from the
13:15 rock a little cut myself a little
13:17 souvenir and I think I could probably
13:19 not have this cap on anymore the weather
13:21 has kind of well now we're going in the
13:24 shade so maybe that was not the best
13:25 call but it's kind of warmed up just a
13:27 little bit it's a bit better yeah what
13:28 did you think of the Rock and Roll Hall
13:29 of Fame you know what I haven't been in
13:31 there since let's call it like maybe 95
13:32 it has definitely grown quite a bit uh
13:35 or or maybe I'm just old enough to have
13:37 better appreciation yeah yeah I I was
13:40 definitely impressed it seems like
13:42 they've added stuff since I was there
13:43 even five years ago yeah what was your
13:45 favorite thing if you had to pick one
13:46 thing that you really liked who agreed
13:48 well I'm a little head so seeing the
13:50 lyrics the hand written lyrics for Holy
13:52 Diver from Ronnie James Diaz yeah but in
13:54 terms of the most uh mind-blowing piece
13:56 I'm gonna go with from Michael
14:00 Jackson right selling his album of all
14:02 time I'm gonna coin that term sellingest
14:05 the sellingest album of all time and you
14:08 know I'm not a metal head like you are
14:09 but I've been to a lot of metal shows I
14:11 saw Sepultura back in the day and they
14:13 had they had Mac was it Max caballera
14:16 yeah
14:18 they had some they had some of his stuff
14:20 in there too so they absolutely did it
14:22 was the whole thing was just pretty
14:24 awesome yeah and look how many people
14:26 are out here heading over to the game
14:31 all right what are we gonna do next all
14:33 right we have decided to grab a bite to
14:35 eat at this barbecue place called
14:37 Mabel's call right
14:40 one of the locals as I was as I was
14:43 doing my little Spiel talking about the
14:45 restaurant he did a little making fun of
14:48 my accent just a little bit as they were
14:49 kind of walking by this place looks
14:51 pretty good and really because the
14:52 football game's going on there wasn't a
14:53 whole heck of a lot of people in here I
14:55 ended up going with the Polish Girl
14:57 sausage classic Cleveland barbecue sauce
15:00 coleslaw pulled pork and a hoagie roll
15:03 and for a side I end up killing two
15:05 different sides I got the potato salad
15:06 which is Dill celery and sour cream I
15:09 also got the loaded fried potatoes
15:10 chopped brisket Cedar sauce scallions
15:12 and chives and Ryan got sausage awesome
15:16 but he ended up getting a pecans
15:19 a pecan pie of some sort as well and I
15:21 in fact did have to get it to go Mabel's
15:23 barbecue so I have a little bit
15:25 something for a little bit later so I
15:27 didn't really I didn't really even dive
15:29 too far into the the blue to potatoes
15:33 potato salad and all that and I'll
15:36 potato salad with a little potatoes over
15:37 here on the corner of Prospect Street is
15:39 a very interesting this is a Bank of
15:41 America but look how skinny it is kind
15:43 of starts off at like a v-shape and then
15:45 goes along here so it's kind of skinny
15:47 building goes up City year but I'm also
15:50 looking over here at the caxton building
15:52 which looks to be kind of like another
15:53 arcade style
15:55 type of deal but this is like a famous
15:57 this is a famous spot here in Cleveland
15:58 right it is yeah do you see what else is
16:01 right here what's up there is that the
16:02 building oh yeah that's the ATT building
16:05 that was said to be the inspiration for
16:07 Superman's Daily Planet building right
16:11 there because Superman this is the
16:12 birthplace of Superman the comics and
16:15 this right here would have been the
16:16 inspiration so they say there's also
16:18 some steam coming out of the bottom over
16:21 there is that what they refer to as a
16:22 Cleveland steamer uh no that would be
16:24 behind you and down a little
16:27 that's where the guy was oh yeah
16:29 yesterday Yeah we actually witnessed one
16:32 in real time which was
16:34 can put that on film and we're just
16:35 noticing there's a sports bar over here
16:37 where yesterday there were a lot of
16:39 people for the the Cleveland Indians
16:41 Cleveland caving Guardians playoff game
16:43 but also today for the Cleveland Browns
16:45 but this kind of looks like the
16:47 Ghostbusters Firehouse right here
16:48 doesn't it the caxton building I don't
16:52 know if you can go in here this might
16:53 just be Apartments now but I just love
16:55 this chandelier light oh look at this up
16:58 here there's like a I don't know if
17:00 that's a skull or what that is
17:03 wow
17:05 up at the top there yeah
17:19 see the steam just emulating
17:19 out of that sewer grate right there
17:22 when you think of Cleveland are you
17:24 wearing these glasses at the game the
17:26 other day the Charlie Sheen from major
17:28 league right here
17:34 oh in A Christmas Story nice and Bowie
17:34 the bullet comes down you had these
17:36 glasses on yesterday glasses I
17:38 absolutely uh had them yesterday I've
17:40 got them right here is sort of a cross
17:42 between Ralphie from the Christmas story
17:44 and settling Jesse Raphael right there
17:47 between the buildings he got the got the
17:50 grocery store over there that used to be
17:52 at a bank it's the Goodyear blimp
17:55 right up there Goodyear blip going by
17:58 it's getting ready to just go out of
18:00 frame
18:08 the historic Goodyear blimp
18:08 and there
18:10 it goes
18:36 this Gothic
18:36 Archway
18:43 leading into this property here with the
18:43 trees
18:46 across the dirt road
18:48 this is located right across from the
18:51 stadium
19:01 like this little building here
19:01 and there's a plaque over here let's see
19:02 what this says back in 1826 when the
19:04 other first
19:07 closed trustees paid letterk senior one
19:10 dollar for eight acres of land and
19:13 dedicated it one dollar for this
19:16 property
19:18 this entire property was bought for a
19:21 buck
19:23 back in 1826.
19:29 getting that view
19:29 really good view now the ATT building
19:33 inspiration for the Daily Planet
19:35 you notice there's a little water tower
19:37 next to it says caxton building
19:40 very small next to the side of it
19:58 evidently was
19:58 some sculptures in front of this at one
20:01 point
20:02 it's no telling how long this lock has
20:05 been on here
20:06 you see all the bugs flying around
20:51 so you have the
20:51 wrought iron
20:52 door here but then it's also been
20:55 completely shuttered in
20:58 with the concrete there so you couldn't
20:59 even get in there if you wanted to
21:01 sealed off
21:03 forever
21:13 and walk it back on the street level or
21:13 someone with a tandem bike or so riding
21:17 the writing alone
21:18 on a tandem bike
21:21 take a look at these old buildings over
21:23 here very unique
21:25 got a little ghost sign up top here I
21:27 can't really read but that's uh
21:32 love these old retro buildings
21:32 approaching this dancing couple here
21:40 we're walking into the playhouse
21:40 District which is the Theater District
21:42 they're going to see a lot of classic
21:44 neon signs out in this area hopefully
21:47 for example the exact example example
21:50 Hannah the Great Lakes theater right
21:52 here
21:59 on there Playhouse theater
21:59 and State Theater there with this
22:02 blinking neon with Les Miserables play
22:03 it and just to give some perspective
22:05 right now there when I was here the
22:07 first day a few days ago
22:13 really large chandelier that's down in
22:13 the middle of the street
22:14 is right down there
22:16 in the middle of the Theater District
22:30 look at that thing
22:30 are reading this little information
22:31 placard
22:33 States here
22:34 the four 1920 theaters originally built
22:37 as houses for film Vaudeville and
22:39 theater fell into this array but were
22:41 saved moments away from the Wrecking
22:42 Ball by a group of citizens
22:44 the largest theater restoration project
22:46 ever to happen in the world yeah look at
22:48 this awning here it almost looks kind of
22:50 like a UFO a wrought iron UFO
22:54 Ryan was also telling me this used to be
22:56 one of the big department stores here in
22:58 town called the Hannah building
23:00 right over here in the Theater District
23:01 you can even see the Hannah building
23:04 a little logo and icon right up there
23:06 kind of etched to the side
23:08 yeah Halley's was down here with the mid
23:10 company and higbee's like the the big
23:13 well-known buildings that do all your
23:17 comments in Cleveland yeah
23:20 can you read roman numerals you know
23:22 what that says mcmxx
23:29 correct now if this thing was in LA it
23:29 would probably not it probably wouldn't
23:31 be there
23:33 with the earthquakes oh yeah don't know
23:35 if a big chandelier dangling over the
23:37 center of an intersection would work but
23:40 maybe
23:42 what kind of bad weather do they have
23:44 here just snow storms oh blizzards is
23:46 probably the worst of it we do get
23:48 earthquakes here and there you get
23:49 earthquakes here believe it or not
23:51 this is kind of interesting right next
23:53 to the big chandelier now they have this
23:55 they talk about this at the Rock and
23:57 Roll Hall of Fame but this is the real
23:59 Spot Cleveland disc jockey Allen free
24:01 broadcast from the studios at wjw
24:03 located on this site
24:05 right here populate popularizing the
24:08 phrase rock and roll
24:10 so was it right here where the idea
24:12 Center is now it was back in there this
24:16 this facade is fairly new
24:18 wow that is really cool
24:21 right here was the spot rock and roll A
24:24 very wise man once sang a song shared
24:26 the news if you will at the heart of
24:29 rock and roll it's still beating
24:31 you know in Cleveland and it's true
24:38 Detroit
24:38 Cleveland
24:42 he gave them this he did yeah and he was
24:45 part of the news
24:46 once a new Duck
24:48 what's what he wants a nude duck like or
24:52 something else
25:24 and since I have not walked over this
25:24 bridge
25:25 I just decided to go ahead and do it now
25:27 since I've been here on this little
25:29 few day journey into Cleveland
25:46 once again with the Goodyear blip
25:46 hovering over there
25:53 relying very impressive architecture
25:57 the river going by
26:12 full of coal or something on the back
26:18 it's gonna do it for today from downtown
26:20 Cleveland strolling back towards my
26:23 hotel this is my last full day here in
26:26 before heading out
26:29 tomorrow
26:38 the Vlog
26:38 is it is it in fact I was going to end
26:41 it right here well then that means the
26:43 Vlog is open
26:49 did I nail it
26:49 now that
26:51 would this be giving it a big thumbs up
26:55 make sure you do give it give it a big
26:58 thumbs up but you're right though over
27:00 at House of Blues the Toadies are still
27:03 around
27:05 I mean that's not until the 13th Awesome
27:07 Kingdom I've seen the Toadies probably
27:09 five times back in the 90s I haven't
27:11 seen them since the 90s
27:13 give it a big thumbs up
27:17 I haven't said that in a long time no
27:19 you still have your wristband from the
27:21 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yes I do all
27:23 right one last thing there are some old
27:25 neon bowling alley bowling pins and a
27:27 bowling ball there the bowling alley is
27:29 gone but the bowling pins still exist
