0:03 this might be one of my new
0:03 favorite downtown old school vintage
0:06 style storefronts look at this and they
0:10 even have their Christmas lights up
0:12 still on that pole welcome everyone Adam
0:15 the woo here starting off this morning
0:17 in the small Community of Hope Arkansas
0:21 it's my second channel daily Vlog
0:23 channel it's the daily wo definitely
0:26 something to be said for these quaint
0:29 little towns Taekwondo you don't hear
0:31 much about that anymore with MMA kind of
0:34 taking over my dad used to take
0:37 Taekwondo when I was young classic
0:39 vehicles
0:41 old neon actually that's not that old of
0:44 a neon sign I think it's like a remade
0:46 neon sign but either way nice right
0:49 along the railway is this metal tin
0:53 aluminum train embedded on the fence and
0:57 the
0:58 conductor Bill Clinton oh great A black
1:03 cat just crossed my path they say that's
1:05 very bad luck wait a second on Second
1:08 Glance is that a cat or is it a dog or
1:11 is it some other sort of mythical
1:13 creature it's glowing it's glowing this
1:16 is interesting however this old small
1:19 teeny tiny railroad car made for two and
1:24 it just moves on down the track never
1:27 seen nothing like that before in 1909
1:29 the merchants of Hope paid to have their
1:31 names of their business imprinted into
1:34 the sidewalk cigars for 5 cents sleep
1:38 comfortably on cold metal Springs
1:43 guaranteed chew wriggley Juicy Fruit the
1:47 gum with fruit flavor I wonder if that
1:50 was his gum of choice on the side of
1:54 Wilson's Saloon are some old murals and
1:57 check out the Coca-Cola one at the top
2:00 relieves
2:02 fatigue it's a pretty good advertising
2:04 campaign you'll notice the entryway to
2:06 the businesses do not match up with what
2:09 they are current day and I think that's
2:12 fascinating a little bit of the past
2:14 will always remain I always get a smile
2:17 on my face when I see a old school
2:19 barber shop with a barber shop pole oh
2:22 man remember when he was on the Areno
2:25 Hall Show playing the
2:28 saxophone he was a saxophone player just
2:30 about a mile from the downtown area it's
2:34 a place called Brazzle oakrest funeral
2:37 home but there wasn't always a funeral
2:39 home here in fact there used to be a
2:41 hospital here and that is where the 42nd
2:44 President of the United States was born
2:48 on August 19th 1946 it's an interesting
2:51 thought but it just popped in my head
2:54 what if he returned here after his
2:57 passing and they had the funeral here
2:59 here so he was born here and had the
3:02 funeral in the same
3:05 location pretty interesting now I
3:07 seriously doubt that will happen but if
3:08 it did that would be quite the footnote
3:11 in presidential history and did you know
3:13 this fun fact about United States inner
3:16 states that if you're going north to
3:18 south it's odd numbers if you're going
3:20 east to west it's even numbers but what
3:24 if you're going
3:26 diagonally Northeast
3:32 that's very confusing for a few dollars
3:32 if you stop off at a Love's truck stop
3:36 you can dump the black and gray
3:54 water want to make sure this thing is on
3:54 there very secure don't want it popping
3:58 off looks good let's Let Her
4:03 Fly oh
4:05 yeah there it
4:11 goes first thing you want to
4:11 do according to what I have been
4:21 taught is let out the nasty water first
4:21 so this is basically the number one and
4:23 number two
4:24 water before clean the hose
4:28 out with the somewhat clean water which
4:32 is the second little pulley
4:40 there now for nozzle number
4:40 two oh yeah oh yeah you can hear it
4:43 sloshing through well it's coming out
4:45 pretty good pretty fast cleaning out all
4:50 that all that
4:59 nastiness a lot of water in there hav it
4:59 empty this in a
5:27 while I know I should have worn gloves
5:27 but I didn't get any on me next time I
5:31 wear the gloves wasn't
5:39 thinking all in all a success it's good
5:39 to have a little hand sanitizer as well
5:43 you don't want follicles from this
5:45 guy coming back to haunt you passing
5:47 through Prescott now some advertisements
5:50 from the past on the side of these
5:52 buildings
5:54 cocacola and another one saying are you
5:56 a woman take some sort of Medicine
6:00 what is that
6:01 cardill Cargill car carbal I'm not sure
6:05 what that is I've noticed the style of
6:07 these old towns are set up in a couple
6:10 different fashion there is the type
6:13 where there's a Town Square like Back to
6:15 the Future style Hill Valley but then
6:17 there's the type where there's a
6:19 railroad over to the right and then the
6:22 downtown area is immediately to the left
6:24 and I must say I love both styles
6:30 it's another barber pole that one's like
6:32 a concrete one just slammed in the
6:34 ground you don't see many of these much
6:36 anymore but back in the day there was a
6:37 trend of video stores combined with
6:41 tanning beds I really love this sign
6:44 check out the cardboard cutouts in the
6:46 window and The Lion King prominently
6:49 displayed it appears to be a thrift
6:51 store now but from what I can tell they
6:54 have DVDs back there this place might
6:57 still be open for business occasionally
7:00 not at the moment however it's padlocked
7:02 this guy hate to say it not looking too
7:05 incredible at the wait look he's charred
7:09 I wonder what if we spent a little too
7:11 much time in that tanning bath do you
7:13 see them do you see
7:17 them what is
7:20 happening what is Hitchcock would be
7:24 foroud
7:32 right down
7:33 here is the little Missouri
7:36 River over this ledge I don't want to
7:40 drive too close cuz I don't want to go
7:41 in the water but there it is this is
7:43 pretty nice down here with the exception
7:45 of an occasional vehicle going over the
7:49 bridge it's very quiet and
7:51 Serene and
7:54 peaceful beautiful not sure how that
7:57 tree ended up in that
8:00 position that's that's a mystery I've
8:02 never been very good at Rock skipping I
8:04 think I need to be closer to the ground
8:06 I'm kind of up on this embankment but
8:08 I'll give it a shot here it
8:11 goes wh wh wh
8:14 wh fail okay I'm a little bit closer to
8:17 the water I have the perfect Flat Rock
8:21 no excuses Adam no
8:25 excuses well I got got got two skips man
8:29 I stink at
8:39 bridges I think I might be the only one
8:39 on the stretcher Road currently not
8:42 complaining just just stating a fact
8:44 ladies and gentlemen I present to you
8:47 the most insane
8:51 mailbox I have ever witnessed in my life
8:56 chainsaws all around it
8:59 what the heck look at that this is
9:03 beyond
9:05 words utterly amazing you win sir or
9:10 ma'am whoever owns that
9:14 you win oh my gosh I'm in girded now gur
9:19 d n and they have a thing here that
9:21 started in
9:22 1892 called the order of the hooo
9:27 normally I would be overly excited about
9:28 a cleaner named Majestic but I think in
9:32 this time and place the hooo takes
9:34 precedence the banners down the main
9:36 drag state health happiness and long
9:40 life but I want to know what the heck is
9:44 the order of the who who right here next
9:46 to the former railroad station is a
9:50 monument erected in
9:53 1909 about the
9:56 organization there are two cats on top
9:59 guarding it what does it
10:03 mean what does it mean this is a very
10:07 peculiar Place indeed oh check out the
10:10 old First National Bank it's used for
10:12 storage now but that's the old bank
10:14 vault there in the corner and adding a
10:16 little more weirdness to this place have
10:20 you seen the Gir light is it gir Geren
10:23 or Gordon or how do you pronounce this
10:26 town in 1931 rail worker Louis McBride
10:29 attacked Foreman will mlan on a section
10:31 of track 4 miles north of town as mlan
10:34 fled McBride beat him repeatedly on the
10:37 head with a spike Maul until mlan fell
10:41 dead still clutching the handle of his
10:43 Lantern what in the name of the heck is
10:46 going on in this place and why wait his
10:49 head's gone was it beaten completely off
10:52 his torso I'm confused but I must get to
10:55 the bottom of this what is this wacky
10:59 International order I keep hearing about
11:03 and why is it funded out of Bard County
11:05 Florida near my old stomping grounds now
11:09 that's that's even stranger there is an
11:11 etching of a cat on the front door see
11:14 if it's
11:20 open work for trade magazines one was a
11:20 railroad man one was a newspaper man but
11:24 while they were strained they met at
11:26 this hotel Hall and that's when they
11:28 came up the to have a fun organization
11:32 where they could talk about the forest
11:33 industry to mean anything strange or
11:35 unusual so who who means something
11:38 strange or unusual as were they coined
11:40 at that time he had been reading lisis
11:42 Carroll who wrote Alison Wonderland he
11:45 had been reading some poems called
11:46 hunting of snark Lis Carl had written so
11:49 our president is not known as a
11:51 president he is known as snark of the
11:53 universe the president is snark of the
11:56 universe so they bored from the Egyptian
11:59 and that's why you'll see the black cat
12:02 we know the Egyptians worship the black
12:04 cat so our mascot is a black cat whose
12:07 tail always makes the number nine if you
12:09 want to know it's for sure oh the number
12:11 nine is his tail his tail I see this
12:14 says Los Angeles is there in order in La
12:16 there's it's in a right now so where all
12:18 the little pinpoints are were or still
12:20 are orders of the if they were orange if
12:22 they were Orange in 1992 they they've
12:25 all been who there's been whoo clubs
12:27 established that never stayed at West
12:29 Virginia and Delaware how many are still
12:31 active currently we only have about we
12:34 have
12:35 probably I'd say 20 samod in North
12:40 America there's one in Detroit here oh
12:42 yeah and then there's one in Tampa they
12:44 were all
12:45 over the hunting of the snark and what's
12:47 on the CD this this is March of the this
12:50 the dance of the hooo and you can go
12:52 dance of the hooo and you can go on
12:54 YouTube and listen to it and it's really
12:56 it's a it's written for the piano and it
12:58 it's really a real Lively rag time typee
13:01 music now what is this outfit here is
13:03 that what they would wear now remember
13:05 we're we're fraternity we do not use the
13:07 robes anymore we uh we've changed that
13:11 up we don't use and so we've decided to
13:13 meet here at least once a year so they
13:16 can see the facilities and see what all
13:18 we have and what is the casket for and
13:19 that was what was leading our parade
13:21 down uh and they were taking that casket
13:24 down the street it was in a hor Dr
13:26 Carriage being carried down the street
13:28 what was the purpose purp of of the
13:30 theing of the SN we got to do away
13:32 before he can come go into the house of
13:34 ancients and become a Ramis and are
13:36 these stickers can I have a couple of
13:37 these stickers yeah let let me give some
13:39 they're not already count let me get you
13:41 okay now that was incredibly interesting
13:43 it was started by a group of guys in the
13:45 lumber industry just want to have a good
13:47 time you have to be invited into the
13:49 group which I will never be a member but
13:51 next best thing free stickers
14:27 you guys chowing
14:27 down getting a little grub getting your
14:29 grub on I can't blame you it looks
14:34 tasty well don't want to disturb you I'm
14:37 going to keep moving on I'll let you be
14:40 just wanted to say just wanted to say hi
14:43 one thing you see a lot of off the
14:44 beaten path are these now closed
14:59 motels the lampshade still has has its
14:59 cover on
15:07 it creepy hallway with the paint peeling
15:07 off the
15:08 walls I love this
15:11 door really like that
15:31 this place has been out of business for
15:31 a
15:51 while my gosh that bird adding the
15:51 perfect Aura of ambiance the shrieking
15:54 noise it was making reminded me a lot of
15:57 the shower scene music go back and
15:59 listen to it I'm not kidding from
16:07 psycho seems to be some very heavy cloud
16:07 formations developing off in the
16:10 distance check this place out Gum
16:13 Springs population 120 so small in fact
16:17 there wasn't any sort of downtown or
16:21 stores nothing but straight ahead is a
16:23 little bit of civilization Arad Delphia
16:27 Arkansas's version of of Philadelphia
16:30 perhaps I'm noticing the size of the
16:32 flags here in Arkansas considerably
16:34 smaller than the size of the Flags in
16:36 Texas Vegas Monument award goes to this
16:40 this cannon is thought to have been made
16:42 in the Ordinance Works located on Six
16:44 and Main Streets it may have been used
16:48 in the defense of Arkadelphia this one's
16:51 doubling down on the barber shop poles
16:54 I'm seeing a lot more of these around
16:56 these parts where they station them in
17:01 ground if your car was to hit that you
17:04 would definitely have a momento in your
17:06 hood very
17:08 patriotic police
17:10 car Arkadelphia I still can't get over
17:12 that name the bank in downtown on the
17:15 side of the wall has an elk
17:19 head made out of concrete just wedged up
17:23 there wonder if anyone even notices it
17:25 when they walk down here to shop the
17:27 landscape is starting to change a little
17:29 bit a lot more trees very beautiful part
17:32 of the
17:35 country that's for sure
