0:23 the hands of fate
0:31 which as a story goes a
0:31 manure salesman a fertilizer
0:34 entrepreneur
0:36 no pun intended
0:38 place to bet at a local bar that he
0:40 could make a film a movie
0:43 and it worked
0:45 highly regarded by many
0:47 as the worst movie ever made there are
0:49 quite a few worst movies ever made but
0:51 this is definitely in the top five or
0:54 ten
0:55 but there is something about it i really
0:56 enjoy
0:58 there's there's some redeemable
1:00 qualities and it is certainly
1:02 entertaining
1:04 i've been wanting to cover these spots
1:06 for a pretty good while and i'm finally
1:09 going to do it i'm inviting you to join
1:12 me
1:13 as i have researched the spots and i'm
1:16 gonna find them join me
1:18 shall you
1:19 as the recording of this it is wednesday
1:21 november 17
1:23 2021 a very beautiful day and start off
1:27 by going up scenic drive park
1:30 and get a view over el paso
1:32 and then down across the
1:34 mexico border
1:35 as well where the opening sequence took
1:37 place also that salesman who placed the
1:40 bet that he could make the movie
1:41 probably had no idea that it was going
1:43 to live on this long in infamy and be
1:45 studied
1:46 in great detail
1:48 by many a folk
1:51 including me
1:52 i think he got his point across and he
1:54 won
1:55 the bat he was also the director not
1:56 only was he the director but he was the
1:58 main star
1:59 gotta say it's a pretty good view from
2:01 up here
2:02 very beautiful and expansive
2:05 you don't really see this direction so
2:07 much
2:09 in that scene
2:11 the family pulls up here they are lost
2:14 and they're talking amongst themselves
2:18 where exactly they should be heading
2:21 and going
2:22 they ended up turning around
2:33 just to the side of me but yeah this is
2:33 this is quite a view
2:35 right here at the scenic scenic overlook
2:45 here's a look at one of the screen grabs
2:45 of their vehicle
2:46 pulling past those rocks
2:48 and then father stuck his arm out
2:52 to let the car behind him know which way
2:54 he was going
3:00 and that would have been right around so
3:00 that's those the very rocks
3:02 right over there turned into this spot
3:05 where i'm standing
3:07 right there
3:09 as he pulled in
3:12 would have been right about here
3:14 give or take the interesting thing is
3:16 didn't really pull in
3:18 at a normal straight forward position it
3:21 was more at an angle
3:23 kind of like that
3:24 as shown here and the little
3:27 concrete lift there
3:29 that the viewfinders are on and the
3:30 little traffic stopping
3:32 stanchions
3:34 still here as well
3:36 granted
3:39 these might be newer ones but those are
3:41 from 66 or not
3:44 but these are some classic looking
3:46 viewfinders
3:47 certainly noticeable
3:49 is that information
3:52 a little placard
3:54 off to the side
4:00 that's the one with the good view there
4:00 of the cityscape this is kind of nice
4:03 it's a you are here moment
4:06 scenic point
4:07 and this gives an overview
4:09 of everything that you can see
4:12 from this section now there is a moment
4:15 when the camera kind of pans like this
4:18 and you can see this little walkout
4:19 which i didn't realize
4:21 was as
4:22 as lengthy
4:24 as it really is but you can see the kind
4:26 of walk out the sidewalk
4:28 in that moment as well one of the many
4:30 interesting things
4:32 is the fact that they didn't really use
4:33 any real audio
4:35 had a pretty good soundtrack too when
4:36 the car pulls in here
4:38 but all the actors and actresses were
4:40 voiced over at a later time including
4:43 the little girl the daughter
4:45 so as they were parked here well kind of
4:48 more
4:49 about in this area
4:51 i'm getting cold mother and hungry
4:55 it was an adult woman doing the voice
5:04 it was weird and the mom you know they
5:04 don't have any snacks give her any food
5:06 in fact they don't really get any food
5:08 anywhere in the near future anywhere in
5:10 the time frame after her daughter said
5:11 she was hungry and cold and the father
5:14 said i could put the top up
5:15 but the mother said no she could just
5:16 sit up here with us
5:18 wouldn't it be the same temperature
5:20 in any part of the car whether it's the
5:22 backseat
5:23 why do they just put the top up for her
5:25 i've watched it many times even with the
5:28 commentary
5:29 and one of the commentators was tom
5:31 naman who played the master and he was
5:34 saying from this when he's when he was
5:36 watching it back
5:37 kind of giving his thoughts on it
5:39 he was saying that his house was down
5:41 there you know somewhere down there so
5:43 this whole area he was a local
5:45 to this to this area his daughter was in
5:48 it he was in it
5:49 and a cast of local players from the the
5:53 theater
5:54 all were kind of hired
5:56 to to do the rolls kind of does work out
5:59 in reality as well when they pull in
6:01 from that angle and then park
6:04 right over here but when they exit out
6:07 it's that angle the car pulls around
6:10 those set of rocks there and you can see
6:12 that second lip up there of the rocks
6:15 around the corner that still looks the
6:17 same
6:18 also i don't even know 100 if it's
6:20 pronounced monos
6:22 or manos
6:24 monos or manos
6:26 and monos or manos
6:29 is translated hands
6:31 so the movie really could be called
6:33 hands the hands of fate
6:36 it's said by a lot of people i didn't
6:38 just i didn't think of that all by
6:39 myself that's kind of one of the main
6:40 statements about the name of the movie
6:43 filmed here in el paso
6:50 there's also one other moment
6:50 that is intercut with this overlook
6:52 scene
6:53 i'm gonna try to find it i think it's
6:55 around the corner over that way
6:56 but they make you think it was up for
6:58 you on this overlook which it's not okay
7:00 the other angle is about a quarter of a
7:02 mile
7:03 on the decent down from scenic drive
7:07 just about like that
7:09 you see the little rock hill
7:12 that's there in the skyline
7:15 in the distance in the mountain range
7:17 which would have been
7:19 this here
7:20 so there's a little
7:22 rock part the little rock hill
7:25 and the walkway across
7:27 that rock hill
7:29 as well
7:33 that's it and it's intercut with up
7:33 there on the scenic overlook just
7:35 realized i gotta go about 19 miles back
7:38 east
7:39 on the outskirts of town to the next
7:40 spot
7:45 i messed that up but i'm gonna backtrack
7:45 just a bit to get to the other two spots
7:47 and down the hill while i was in this
7:49 area went ahead and went by el paso
7:51 street 107 south el paso street to be
7:54 more technical which is where the capri
7:57 theater used to stand right here next to
7:59 this hotel which is still there and this
8:02 is a photo retro photo from back in the
8:03 day and you can see the hotel is there
8:06 and the capri
8:08 was right beside it
8:10 now inside there was where the movie
8:12 premiere took place
8:14 and all of the cast
8:16 was on hand as well as a lot of
8:18 prominent
8:19 folks in el paso and they started
8:22 laughing
8:23 very shortly into as the movie started
8:26 and it said that some of the cast well
8:29 quite a bit of the cast
8:30 ended up kind of sneaking out the back
8:33 and leaving because they did not want to
8:34 be there
8:36 you know to witness to witness all that
8:38 but witness the laughter here's a photo
8:41 of tom over here he played the master
8:43 there is his daughter who played the
8:45 daughter
8:46 i'm cold mother and hungry
8:50 i guess this is before the movie started
8:53 before some of the cast snuck out here
8:55 is a side angle
8:57 of that building as well from another
8:59 photograph from back when the capri was
9:01 still standing so this entire block
9:04 has been bulldozed to el paso and henry
9:07 trost is the corner
9:14 and the capri was basically
9:14 more or less in front of where i'm
9:16 standing right here so it would have
9:18 been right about there there was another
9:20 storefront between the capri and the
9:22 hotel that still exists i wish someone
9:24 could go back in time and tell
9:26 all those that left the movie premiere
9:27 because they were too embarrassed that
9:29 the movie would go on to live
9:31 a very long life a lot of the best ones
9:33 like that were forgotten about for many
9:35 years and then rediscovered and you know
9:38 thanks to the internet
9:40 things kind of get legs again and
9:43 reappear that's what happened with this
9:45 one
9:46 it's not going away it's shocking
9:49 it's beyond your imagination and here is
9:51 the flyer for the world premiere that
9:53 happened right across the road it was at
9:55 8 pm light stars and excitement
9:58 produced and photographed in and around
10:00 el paso with a local
10:02 cast of stars
10:04 there it is right now it says capri
10:07 right down there starts tomorrow man
10:09 it's the hands
10:11 of fate no matinee today the doors open
10:13 at 7 15
10:15 p.m 45 minutes prior
10:22 to this
10:22 movie officially
10:24 rearing its head upon el paso
10:27 and then eventually
10:29 decades later the world made it to the
10:32 outskirts of town
10:37 this road that runs parallel to the
10:37 property here
10:38 is designated nuevo
10:41 who echo
10:42 tanks road i'm probably not pronouncing
10:44 that right
10:46 but that's the designation
10:48 and right here
10:49 it has been bulldozed and torn down
10:52 but it appears to be some remnants of
10:54 where the house was
11:01 over towards valley lodge i was confused
11:01 if this was valley lodge or just in the
11:03 valley lodge area when they first see
11:06 the sign
11:07 at the beginning
11:09 nonetheless this is the home where torgo
11:11 was
11:12 master was and you can see there are
11:14 some remnants over here
11:16 and over towards that tree line is where
11:18 the car
11:20 first pulled in
11:22 there are
11:24 quite a bit of debris i don't want to
11:25 step on any snakes
11:27 could be i don't know if your scorpion's
11:28 out here or not
11:30 definitely some ants
11:32 i'm gonna traverse over there
11:39 whoa there's a lot of birds up there
11:39 didn't notice those so i got a little
11:40 bit closer now the best i can figure
11:44 running long ways along here is where
11:47 the stairs
11:49 leading into the house was where torgo
11:55 met the car pulling in they would have
11:55 pulled in from that direction
11:57 over there
11:58 i'm going to kind of
11:59 scour around this debris and see if i
12:01 can find anything
12:03 that kind of matches up at all the
12:05 satellite view from 2010 shows
12:08 kind of the layout of where the
12:10 buildings were there were two buildings
12:13 kind of a utility shed
12:15 or a barn or something back there and
12:17 then all the interiors and the filming
12:19 of the exteriors were in this one
12:21 right here and all those birds are in
12:24 these trees
12:25 right over there so i'm kind of standing
12:27 about where it was
12:29 more or less i think it's kind of up on
12:31 the
12:32 a little elevated hill just off to the
12:34 side of where i'm standing where they
12:36 pulled in was this direction
12:38 you know obviously since 1966 none of
12:40 this looks the same but the mountain
12:43 ranges are over there in the distance
12:45 and the far distance that foliage is
12:47 kind of obscuring them but the car
12:50 pulled in here
12:51 kind of circled around
12:53 pulled up right along here there was a
12:55 fence
12:56 they looked over at confusion at torgo
12:58 standing where i am
13:00 and there's also some mountains over
13:02 in the distance over there this used to
13:04 be all farmland right over this berm
13:06 where this dirt is
13:08 was farmland at one point and then this
13:10 was a homestead that was used
13:12 for the movie what i'm looking out but
13:14 they went right along in this section
13:16 turn the corner they'll have farmland
13:18 which is no longer green
13:21 was right there
13:24 and parked
13:29 kind of in this general vicinity not a
13:29 lot to match up
13:35 but i'm definitely getting some some
13:35 hands of fate vibes right now
13:38 and
13:40 close distance i didn't realize how
13:41 close it was but the pillars hoping
13:44 they're still there
13:45 are way over there the whole all the
13:48 pillar saints
13:50 when torgo lost his hand it was burnt
13:53 general vicinity of this angle as well
13:56 the very confused family
13:58 there's a lot of speculation also on if
14:01 torgo was human
14:03 or if he was
14:04 some sort of creature
14:06 with the legs you know what are those
14:08 what are those mystic creatures that
14:10 have the
14:11 the unusual legs
14:13 and the way he walked
14:14 i don't know if there's any any truth to
14:16 that speculation but that's what some
14:19 say there's a lot of
14:20 a lot of that when it comes to this film
14:22 it's been studied you know so so much by
14:25 those who love
14:27 really badly made movies but that would
14:28 have been right here from this angle i'd
14:30 also hope that possibly even though it
14:33 was bulldozed there'd be one of these
14:35 bricks
14:36 these red bricks around
14:38 there are no more red bricks they have
14:40 really
14:41 really uprooted this place every
14:44 sense of the term
14:46 unrecognizable
14:49 and most likely in the very near future
14:51 the reason it was torn down
14:53 probably condos or businesses or
14:56 apartments through here
14:58 and those that live here will probably
15:00 have no idea
15:01 of the unusual
15:03 film history that they're
15:05 standing upon
15:07 and just one more example when she's
15:10 kind of standing here also hoping this
15:12 stair this these two two stairs would be
15:14 here
15:15 they're not even the
15:18 even the base of the house
15:21 it's long gone but that would have been
15:22 about that angle then follow it around
15:26 it was like the corner section where
15:28 the daughter finds the doberman pincher
15:30 he's pretty dang thank cool to be
15:32 standing in this spot however right here
15:36 where torgo would have been torgo
15:38 he took care of the place while the
15:40 master
15:41 was away and the master
15:44 that way over
15:46 i don't know
15:47 a mile or so down that direction
15:50 really hoping those pillars are still
15:52 there let me go check it out
15:54 let's head over there looking again on
15:56 this
15:58 2010 the satellite view you'll notice
16:01 next to the house
16:02 a few feet away is kind of an
16:04 indentation
16:06 i don't want to say it's a pool but it's
16:07 a concreted
16:09 hole
16:11 in the ground
16:12 there's some rubble here
16:14 there is a possibility that
16:16 the house
16:18 from hands of fate was
16:20 all piled up over here
16:23 with this rubble as well
16:25 as you can see it's right next to those
16:26 trees
16:28 and if there's any oh there's a red
16:30 brick
16:32 look at that
16:33 there's some red bricks right there holy
16:35 cow
16:37 okay yeah it's all been piled here those
16:40 are the bricks
16:42 from the walk when torgo does his very
16:44 unique walk to the theme music to
16:46 torgo's theme music
16:48 those are the bricks right there
16:51 oh my gosh can i even i don't know if i
16:52 should climb up here
16:54 i guess i could climb up there i'm gonna
16:56 zoom in
17:06 nice
17:06 yeah so it's all been cast over here
17:09 into this pile
17:23 and there's the example again
17:23 there's the stairs
17:25 and there's those red bricks
17:27 seen many many times where they
17:30 torgo went to get the luggage
17:32 for the gas he didn't even want him
17:33 staying there he tried to warn him but
17:34 they didn't listen
17:36 they didn't listen at all but
17:37 trotted across those those red bricks
17:39 many times
17:45 more of the foundation piled up here
17:45 i was looking to see if i could see the
17:46 stairs
17:48 the two stairs that led into the front
17:50 doorway
17:51 there's really no way of
17:52 of telling it probably buried underneath
17:55 all the debris on top here
17:57 and something you do not see on camera
18:05 was this
18:05 this i don't know what this is a
18:06 concreted hole here like a
18:09 to hold water obviously it's not a pool
18:12 but this was right next to the home and
18:14 this is still here
18:17 not shown not shown in the movie at all
18:20 so they just they tore it down from over
18:22 there
18:23 moved everything
18:25 to this section and piled it up all
18:28 right i'm gonna state i stand corrected
18:32 i was saying the house was over there
18:33 about probably 20 20 yards farther than
18:36 where i am
18:37 by looking at that satellite view again
18:41 and just kind of seeing the the layout
18:43 based on that concrete hole that i
18:45 thought was a pool
18:47 the house really is adjacent to where
18:49 that concrete hole in the ground starts
18:52 which means
18:54 that i was incorrect
18:56 it was not precisely over there
18:59 where i had stated
19:00 but in fact
19:02 more about here
19:04 they pretty much put the rubble on top
19:06 of where it was so those stairs
19:09 could still be down there but buried
19:11 because by you know judging by that old
19:13 satellite view the house was right here
19:17 next to next to this
19:20 or if not if not in this precise spot
19:23 at least somewhere over in this section
19:25 difficult to pinpoint exactly but just
19:27 wanted to clarify that that i really do
19:30 think it was here
19:31 and not over there you know
19:34 six of one half dozen of another but
19:36 just statement just getting one last
19:38 look at the house
19:45 so if i ever return here
19:45 this will probably be gone
19:53 or if anyone else ever shows up out here
19:53 there's a possibility this would be
19:54 removed
19:56 a new development will take over
20:05 and this was the second kind of shed
20:05 second home that was on the back side of
20:07 the property that was
20:08 not used either in the filming i do wish
20:11 there was more to match up i wish the
20:12 building was still standing
20:14 or at least
20:15 you know the foundation very prominently
20:17 or
20:18 the sides of the walls but
20:21 you get what you get
20:22 1966 was a heck of a long time ago i'm
20:25 surprised
20:26 anything is left out here at all
20:28 and now gonna just drive down the hill a
20:30 bit
20:32 about a mile or so see if the other spot
20:34 still remains
20:48 and while i just pulled away from that
20:48 one spot wanted to show that this was in
20:50 the interiors of the house
20:52 he had quite the outfit there
20:55 with the hands
20:57 on them
20:58 that was right over past that tree line
20:59 down that road
21:00 and right up this dirt path should be
21:03 the pillars oh
21:06 i can kind of see them peeking out over
21:07 there they're there this is really
21:10 exciting
21:11 the fact that these
21:13 appear to be precisely how they were
21:17 in 1966
21:19 what the heck
21:22 yes they're still here
21:24 i love it
21:28 or is it manas this makes me happy i'm
21:31 already starting to see some
21:32 blemishes and things that are noticeable
21:35 there's also an inscription here which
21:37 you really can't see
21:38 it says toward
21:40 the mourn
21:41 and the rising
21:43 sun
21:45 and there's a how new housing
21:47 development being built
21:49 off in the distance
21:51 right over there
21:52 yeah it's moving in so just to give a
21:54 perspective the house
21:56 was right over there
21:58 near those crossroads
22:00 and this was right up here so
22:02 could have technically walked
22:04 from there to here now all the scenes
22:07 in this area took place at night pretty
22:09 much the whole movie
22:10 took place at night oh and this is a
22:12 compass
22:13 now i recognize this
22:15 this little inscription here i didn't
22:17 realize it was a compass that is
22:19 pointing pointing
22:21 northbound there he is resting
22:23 comfortably on that concrete slab
22:26 and two of his wives there
22:28 up against the pillars
22:31 now one thing that's really
22:33 interesting
22:34 which is kind of what i like about a lot
22:35 of spots is kind of noticing
22:38 a few different things so as he's laying
22:41 you could see over here is this
22:43 kind of hole in the concrete a blemish a
22:46 little bit of a nuance there that's very
22:50 very distinct
22:52 i point that out because you can see it
22:55 right over here you see that distinct
22:57 little hole
22:58 see the dog there
23:01 kind of like looking at the actress
23:02 there and you got him laying across
23:05 this slab with that kind of blemish
23:09 which is always kind of neat to point
23:10 that out
23:12 wow
23:18 that's this is awesome where the fire
23:18 was burning was in the middle of that
23:20 compass area you can see the little two
23:22 markings there the two etchings like
23:23 v-shaped and then the other ones that
23:25 are not v-shaped
23:27 the fire
23:28 was in that spot there you can see the
23:30 little v-shaped markings
23:32 along the ground right there see the
23:35 the v shape
23:37 i'm referring to
23:38 so it would have had the kind of the
23:40 flame going up
23:41 right there in the middle and once all
23:42 the wives wake up they started arguing
23:45 and he's kind of just sitting there
23:46 listening thinking
23:48 wow they're really
23:49 they're kind of really having an
23:50 argument here in front of me and another
23:52 thing i'm noticing is this little hole
23:54 right here in this pillar notice that
23:57 hole that little etching there
23:58 just past where they're all
24:00 kind of sitting around and i point that
24:02 out because over there this is the angle
24:05 as he's sitting that hole
24:08 is still there
24:09 walk over here and give a little closer
24:11 view
24:12 so there's that hole which was seen many
24:15 many times back in 1966 when
24:19 he was kind of like he was actually
24:21 slapping her but she was against this
24:23 pole and he wasn't the only one doing
24:25 the slapping it was a whole slap fest
24:27 going on
24:28 but there's that hole
24:30 this pillar was used
24:34 a lot of slapping
24:36 going on up here these pillars an even
24:38 better perspective another better angle
24:41 of that hole over there
24:42 in the side of the concrete a little
24:45 embankment here
24:46 that they were laying across
24:48 and once again there's that
24:51 there's that hole right there in the
24:53 concrete and just off to the side in
24:54 this little sand area is where all the
24:57 women had their fight they were really
24:58 kind of going at it right over here
25:06 as shown here you see all the sand
25:06 it's really the only spot where they
25:08 have that possibility
25:10 of doing that
25:11 because all the other areas are kind of
25:13 down
25:14 embankments
25:15 and full of other you know a lot more
25:18 hilly than this angle which looks to be
25:20 like the same the same angle and any
25:22 time he had the ability to outstretch
25:24 his arms to present the hands on his
25:26 wardrobe he would do so he's right there
25:29 in front of that
25:30 slab where
25:32 him and others were laying down i placed
25:34 my blu-ray
25:35 over here on the corner
25:37 this is where his feet
25:40 would have been
25:41 it was also that pole that she was up
25:43 against there when he put the fire down
25:46 towards her feet
25:48 right over there as well
25:50 that's a very popular
25:51 pillar here's another angle when he's
25:53 walking in with his dog the doberman
25:56 coming up from
25:57 from that angle that's also where torgo
26:00 who had his hand caught on fire and torn
26:02 off right down here because the
26:05 you know the fire was right there at the
26:06 base of that compass
26:08 torgo ran off that way you can't really
26:10 see any background stuff because
26:12 it was night it was under nightfall oh
26:14 here's another one when he's telling the
26:15 woman to to stop
26:17 arms stretched out with those hands
26:19 on the wardrobe
26:21 also on that same side over there in the
26:24 sand
26:26 just very close correlation
26:29 you know to the
26:30 to these even though torgo lost his hand
26:34 it's caught on fire
26:36 he did he did get away
26:39 he did get away even though he was
26:41 laying there
26:42 and then his hand was burned
26:46 at that little like flame there by the
26:47 where the compass was
26:49 yeah
26:51 i think torgo made it but not before
26:53 having the women
26:54 you know going after him as he was
26:56 laying
26:58 with the camera angle kind of up like
27:00 that
27:01 and they were above him kind of clawing
27:03 at him and then eventually he rolled off
27:06 right along the ground
27:09 with that same indentation
27:11 over on the end that i mentioned as he's
27:13 laying there you can see the props he
27:14 put in his legs near his knees
27:16 again there's that kind of hole in the
27:18 side
27:21 torga a great character here he is
27:23 getting his hand ripped off he's on fire
27:26 being held up there in the air well
27:29 he kind of scurries off
27:31 that direction
27:34 really happy this place
27:36 still exists
27:38 and when they were filming it they
27:39 probably had no idea that there was
27:41 going to be a high definition version
27:43 you know you watch the original kind of
27:44 grainy stuff you miss a lot of stuff but
27:46 it's been restored which you know pretty
27:49 awesome
27:50 trying to get it all
27:51 kind of in the same frame there
27:56 one more spot
27:56 i have one more spot that i discovered
27:58 that i'm happy to to reveal
28:01 heading over there now because this one
28:02 wasn't too difficult to find obviously
28:05 you had to figure out exactly where it
28:06 was but there were some mentions
28:12 online about where this was just happy
28:12 it still remains
28:13 the next one however
28:15 i've seen no indication
28:18 that anyone's discovered where that was
28:20 so
28:21 i'm just gonna put it out there
28:27 this one was kind of an easy one
28:27 this section
28:28 although there was not really a super
28:30 duper update
28:32 you never know things changed so quickly
28:34 year to year
28:36 things could be removed so i'm glad this
28:38 is still here
28:43 and yes i did contemplate recreating
28:43 laying down on there but i don't know
28:45 what that mess is
28:46 i don't want to put my head down there
28:49 so let's just say i did
29:02 this is awesome for real
29:02 there used to be a sidewalk right there
29:05 but there still is a sidewalk it's just
29:07 kind of hidden over with the dirt
29:08 leading to that building back there
29:12 all right moving on

30:20 is memory drive
30:22 and it's unusual
30:24 because memory drive kind of slants off

30:28 and goes
30:29 around a
30:31 rather new roundabout up there
30:33 but now that i'm here looking at it
30:36 you'll notice
30:37 the old memory drive
30:39 still exists next to this property
30:42 of this rock fence wall so memory drive
30:45 there's just like an unusual makeshift
30:47 parking lot here
30:49 from where the old memory drive was
30:52 before the roundabout
30:54 was built
30:55 and they've kind of coincided it
30:57 into
30:59 the driveway leading into this property
31:02 so i think memory drive used to go
31:05 through where this rock wall
31:08 now sits
31:10 based on i'm showing i'm showing all
31:11 this and explaining it so i get up to
31:13 the roundabout it'll make a little more
31:15 sense there's never been a definitive
31:17 answer to where
31:18 manos the hands of fate

31:23 the car was driving from and then turned

31:28 the makeshift sign that was painted that

32:33 memory drive there is this fire hydrant
32:37 could be a new fire hydrant that may
32:38 have rerouted it a few
32:40 feet but i am under the assumption that
32:44 that fire hydrant
32:46 is this fire hydrant

32:52 now it could have been moved
32:54 but i do believe it's in the same spot
32:57 based on the other road that's behind me
32:59 i'm about to show you so i'm thinking

33:06 this brick wall was not here memory

33:13 and that sign
33:15 that valley lodge sign would have been
33:18 right about there now it could be off a
33:20 few feet and they might have put a
33:22 different fire extinguisher

33:26 but there is a good possibility
33:29 that that
33:30 fire extinguisher is the same one
33:33 a good possibility or at least
33:35 you know the same
33:36 the same water system underneath it
33:38 because if you look from this angle
33:40 you will notice fire expire
33:43 hydrant there not extinguisher fire

33:46 but up here and you couldn't see this in
33:48 the the old school grainy version but in
33:51 the crystal clear blu-ray version you
33:54 can faintly make out
33:57 el paso country club
34:00 and look at the distance between the
34:01 roads
34:02 you got that road there
34:05 and then you got the other el paso
34:07 country club road
34:08 which is over
34:10 on the distance so you've got the fire
34:12 hydrant here
34:14 and el paso el paso country club road is
34:17 right up there same distance look at
34:19 that and at the very end of the movie
34:21 when the two ladies are driving down
34:23 this road the camera is facing the other
34:26 direction and you can see over the top
34:30 of their car
34:31 there is one very unique looking
34:34 building
34:36 off on the horizon there and that
34:39 building is still back there even though
34:41 there's kind of a rock wall in front of
34:43 it that building is still there which
34:46 would be the perspective
34:48 facing
34:50 that way now i'm going to zoom in and
34:51 show that building this is a very
34:52 business road was not that busy
34:55 back in 1966 been repainted but that is
34:58 the very building
35:02 very unique architecture so very very
35:04 distinct that's the building behind them
35:06 as they're driving down the road
35:08 towards what you would think would be
35:10 towards valley lodge
35:12 oh
35:13 i wasn't even standing the road that
35:14 person hocked i'm on the sidewalk
35:15 started now looking at this again
35:18 over at the el paso country club signage
35:21 here it goes over
35:23 like a little bit of a
35:25 i don't know what you'd call it a ravine
35:26 of sorts a ditch and it has a little
35:29 railing there because there is a bridge
35:31 you would assume
35:32 there is a bridge and there is a little
35:34 bit of a ditch here now where that sign
35:39 was right over here
35:41 let me walk by
35:44 and show where that el paso country club
35:47 signage was
35:49 it was here
35:56 so there would have been a metal railing
35:56 right along here this is very
35:58 long-winded to explain this but it's
36:00 been a source of a lot of conversations
36:01 when i'm looking things up online
36:03 this is one of the elusive spots so this
36:05 is my thoughts on it i'm pretty
36:07 confident metal railing was right there
36:10 and that el paso country club sign
36:15 and then they would have turned
36:20 and gone down that road which puts where
36:20 they got pulled over
36:22 right here along the ditch
36:25 would have been right in this area
36:27 and as i stated the houses were not
36:30 built till 77
36:31 so all the houses would not have been
36:33 there and there was a guy on a tractor
36:36 doing a little bit of work and that
36:38 tractor and the fields could be seen
36:41 as they were pulled over
36:42 in this very spot
36:45 right there so that spot
36:48 is
36:53 that spot now keep in mind the street
36:53 sign memory club drive and country club
36:56 drive would have been about 30 yards
36:57 farther that way where everyone's
36:59 turning
37:01 by the fire hydrant almost that
37:03 extinguisher again
37:06 that's where they would have turned it
37:07 would have gone down
37:09 well not this new memory drive but the
37:11 one farther over there
37:13 right along the edge of that rock wall
37:16 and one more one more point
37:19 to prove this at the end the two ladies
37:21 are driving they turn past the stop sign
37:24 down onto memory
37:26 and when they do that
37:27 you'll notice there's like a little
37:29 indicator sign a little
37:31 warning sign that you can't go any
37:32 farther because you go into that ditch
37:35 the ditch that's over there
37:37 boy this is such a busy road
37:39 no one's going down memory though
37:40 they're all going down
37:41 country club i'm going to walk across
37:47 but where the street sign which is now
37:47 there on the new memory drive would have
37:50 been
37:52 there is a glimmer an indication for one
37:55 millisecond
37:57 of what road this is
37:59 and that is another hint on how i
38:00 figured this out right before they made
38:02 this turn and right during this moment
38:06 above the stop sign
38:09 if it is paused for just a brief moment
38:12 depending on what version you have you
38:15 have to look at the older version
38:16 because on the blu-ray they kind of
38:18 cropped it out a little bit if you look
