0:20 welcome everyone Adam though whoo here
0:23 it's my second channel daily walk now
0:25 that bus was very close to me it's the
0:27 daily whoo Oh Chicago you're beautiful
0:42 good morning Birds they're taking over
0:42 Hitchcock would be proud
1:02 doesn't even seem real does it looks
1:02 like a back lot like a movie studio
1:04 which is interesting because Chicago has
1:06 been used in a lot of feature films as
1:09 well as TV show when I look around is
1:11 hard for me not to think of balki
1:13 bartokomous and cuss and Larry I'm
1:15 talking about perfect stranger and
1:17 amazing yet very underrated show based
1:20 on these very streets in fact the intro
1:24 was filmed at locations all around town
1:27 let's start with this one it's pretty
1:30 cool there's a newspaper stand here
1:32 because this building is where Mark
1:34 linn-baker stood right over there and
1:36 read his newspaper team uh ch looks the
1:39 same down to the stairs and the pillars
1:42 in the background you look at the
1:43 screenshot from the intro you will
1:45 notice that there was a green sign and
1:47 there is still some remnants see the
1:50 little rusted out area and those metal
1:52 screws that's what held a sign in place
1:55 and in tall on the wings of my dream I
2:00 never saw I could sing my apologies but
2:02 this should make up for it look at that
2:05 view
2:15 ah yes the historic Chicago ciated right
2:15 across the street the cousins came out
2:17 of the subway for that triumphant shot
2:21 those are the exact stairs they would
2:24 have jogged up in their Sunday best
2:27 adjusting their bow ties the camera
2:30 hands up showing the Chicago theater and
2:34 the skyline
2:36 my life my dreams nothing's gonna stop
2:41 me now this is the river where the boat
2:44 went under the bridge for the opening
2:48 titles right there the skyline looks a
2:51 little bit different but you can see a
2:53 few of the buildings match up and the
2:55 bridge has been repainted but Balki and
2:58 Larry on the boat going right under that
3:01 bridge I always liked how Balki grabbed
3:03 the American flag off the back of the
3:05 boat and waved it around as he went
3:08 right underneath there
3:10 check this out the El train runs all
3:13 through downtown but this
3:17 is the exact spot from the intro there
3:22 it goes look at that
3:31 I feel like I'm in the show itself right
3:31 now this is amazing
3:55 the Chicago Tribune is right across the
3:55 waterway there but in the show there was
3:57 a fictional paper right along this windy
4:00 corridor and it was called the Chicago
4:03 Chronicle this building was prominently
4:06 displayed in a lot of episodes including
4:10 the now famous shot of the wind blowing
4:14 them around knocking Balki on the ground
4:17 as Larry is pushing forward through the
4:21 stiff breeze a very comical scene filmed
4:25 right there mind blown
4:29 and correct me if I am wrong but I think
4:31 this corner bakery cafe in the show it
4:34 was a Burger King
4:44 I don't know what that car is roadworthy
4:44 Casey Neistat yesterday I tried a hot
4:48 dog today it's Pizza time this place is
4:52 crazy they invite people to write their
4:54 names on the booths and the walls
4:57 looks like Dennis Rodman is eating here
4:58 chowing down hi
5:00 even Lady Gaga's been here that's pretty
5:02 cool and here we go
5:04 look at this Chicago pizza just big
5:06 enough for me and maybe I could share a
5:08 little bit with James Dean and you know
5:09 what James get your own this is all my
5:11 this is the old water tower and it sits
5:14 right between these skyscrapers the
5:18 architecture is off right around this
5:20 area here is where Balki headed the
5:23 horse and back behind it still looks the
5:26 same it's crazy to think they had a
5:30 horse carriage parked right here on the
5:33 side of this busy road and they still do
5:34 have the horse-drawn carriages out here
5:37 but they haven't parked on the other
5:38 side Eve was shot right there
5:41 where that bus is turning Brooks from
5:45 Shawshank would be very disappointed
5:48 with this park oh man this church is
5:52 awesome and I've ordered an uber going
5:55 to the next stop this tunnel goes
5:58 underneath the road and leads over to a
6:02 beach walk your bike this guy is a rebel
6:07 does not follow water so Oh Adam the
6:12 Woo's wild kill look this goose has like
6:19 a number on its neck
6:21 he's been marked what's that for
6:26 exactly there's a skyline shot where
6:32 they are running right down this grassy
6:35 area with Chicago in the background this
6:39 is amazing
6:40 I'm like in a time machine going back to
6:44 TGIF days Friday nights on ABC so wild
6:50 to be standing right here this is an
6:52 insane amount of foul surrounding me
7:03 they could attack at any moment
7:03 never going
7:12 oh my gosh there it is the apartment
7:12 building from season three until the end
7:15 of the series it looks very similar of
7:17 course they've gotten rid of the fire
7:19 escapes and repainted it but they still
7:21 have those castle s toppers man so coool
7:28 the apartment home in season 1 and 2 was
7:30 in los angeles
7:32 use your Columbo like research skills
7:33 you can see the vlog I did there as well
7:36 season 6 it is mentioned that the
7:37 address is 7-eleven Coldwell Street well
7:41 that is not true it is actually on the
7:44 corner of Clark and Dickens avid
7:47 Hollywood trickery right where they're
7:53 doing all this road construction is
7:55 where they ran across the road and their
7:57 cubs attire they got to this corner and
8:00 then you can see the famous historic
8:04 sign and Stadium and they ran into the
8:07 game this might honestly be the world's
8:09 oldest ATM in existence look at this it
8:12 looks like something from the caveman
8:13 days run across from Wrigley Field
8:16 cavemen had debit cards right I've
8:19 always wanted to go to a game at Wrigley
8:20 Field I guess the next best thing would
8:23 be get one of the seats that are up on
8:26 top of that roof I wouldn't complain
8:28 about that at all
