0:03 Welcome everyone. Adam Doo here as the
0:03 recording of the Sunday, June 22nd,
0:06 2025. I'm here in Amsterdam, but I'm
0:09 going to be heading south about 60 miles
0:11 to another area of the Netherlands.
0:14 Very windy and overcast today. I really
0:17 like it. It's not as hot as it was the
0:18 last couple days. I think yesterday
0:20 there was a heat wave going through. But
0:23 today going to take the train about two
0:25 two and a half hour commute train wise
0:28 down to where I'm going. I'm inviting
0:30 you to join me.
0:35 Very windy. It's good to have you here.
0:38 Oh, also I'm just equipped with my my
0:40 backpack. The hotel I'm staying at here
0:42 in Amsterdam I still have for a couple
0:44 days, but I have another hotel 60 mi
0:47 south of here that I booked for the
0:49 evening cuz where I'm going
0:52 It's like really bright.
0:53 Going to get an early start in the
0:54 morning. So, don't want to don't want to
0:56 have to take three-hour commute down
0:58 there. So, went ahead and just change of
1:00 plans. I'm headed down there. Join me,
1:02 shall you? Taking the Amsterdam Central.
1:05 Taking the train down to a place, I hope
1:07 I pronounced this correctly, called
1:10 Catuvel.
1:12 Cat Shuvel.
1:17 All right. I purchased a one-way ticket
1:17 to Herren Bosque.
1:20 And the next one is going to be at 3:11.
1:24 Not demand.
1:26 So I got time to get hyping hot
1:28 caffeinated beverage prepared for my
1:30 trip. It was like $34. $34
1:34 to go one way there.
1:38 Still so tempted on these mugs. There's
1:40 an Amsterdam mug and there's also a
1:42 Netherlands mug. Just you don't want to
1:44 go down the crazy deep rabbit hole
1:46 buying these mugs. Plus traveling.
1:49 Traveling with them if you go to a few
1:51 places and bringing them back is always
1:53 something. And how many coffee mugs do I
1:55 really need? I mean, I've already got
1:56 like 330 of them. There's one leaving
1:59 now.
2:02 Mine doesn't arrive for a few minutes.
2:05 But the reality is if I was at home, I
2:08 didn't have to commute with those heavy
2:10 mugs.
2:11 I'd probably buy buy them cuz I got
2:13 plenty of room at the house. Uh yeah,
2:15 just traveling with mugs.
2:18 They're pretty heavy. You start weighing
2:19 down luggage. Looks like it's on time
2:22 and I'm at the right station 4B.
2:25 15001 hours 311. And the reason I'm
2:28 choosing to do one way and not to go to
2:30 my final destination by trains or buses.
2:33 So I might grab a Uber from where this
2:35 drops off and get over to my hotel for
2:37 the evening. And then coming back, I
2:40 might have a different game plan getting
2:42 back up here to Amsterdam.
2:46 Just kind of winging it. That's why
2:47 that's why I'm choosing one way because
2:48 there's there's other there's other ways
2:50 to get back and forth. So, this is the
2:52 way I'm choosing today.
3:10 Oh, it's a double decker. I
3:10 think that's supposed to be a smiley
3:11 face
3:43 Yeah, to switch sides. That other side
3:43 was very warm in the sun.
3:46 Actually, a lot of people got off at the
3:48 last stop, too. It's really quiet on
3:49 here now.
4:32 middle bridges at a very fast rapid
4:32 pace.
4:43 And now prepare yourself for another
4:44 train at a very fast, rapid pace. Going
4:47 the other way.
4:50 That was quick.
5:00 Her talking bos.
5:00 That's an interesting looking bridge
5:02 over there.
5:04 This is where I exit. Man, that was
5:06 fast. It's like 50 minutes.
5:08 Thought it was going to be a little
5:09 longer than that, but got to love this.
5:12 Got to love the speed train.
5:24 running parallel to another moving train
5:24 right there.
5:33 Yeah, once you get out of Amsterdam
5:33 southbound, a few stops kind of starts
5:35 to clear up and there's like a lot more
5:36 room on here.
5:47 I wish the US had travel like this that
5:47 was this simple. I mean, you can get
5:48 around pretty easily in the US, but not
5:50 this easily.
6:04 Grab my bag and get moving. 4:07 p.m.
6:04 here in the Netherlands.
6:07 See, 400 p.m. here would mean it's 10:00
6:10 a.m. at Home in Celebration, Florida.
6:13 For those over on the West Coast, cuz I
6:15 am in LA a lot. So, my correlation with
6:17 time is Florida and California. Be 10:00
6:21 a.m. in Florida, 7:00 a.m. in SoCal.
6:30 All right, let's see what I can find in
6:30 this town.
6:32 There's another train that I can get
6:34 over to where my hotel is for the eve,
6:40 but I think I might just take an Uber
6:40 over there. I think it'll be a little
6:41 quicker. But I'm going to see what they
6:42 have in this town and just see how the
6:45 see where the day leads. See where the
6:46 early evening leads, I should say. See
6:48 what they have in the vending machine
6:49 here at the Automont.
6:56 Got some gummy gummy bears there. Some
6:56 drop toppers. Oh, look up here. These
6:59 are some different flavored Lays.
7:02 Look at this paprika flavored Lays. How
7:05 about some Thai sweet chili sensation
7:08 Lays. This is some of the candy bars.
7:11 Bounty,
7:13 Sport Life gum, Kit Kat chunky.
7:17 You see a lot of waffles over here in
7:20 this area.
7:22 Dutch stroop waffle.
7:35 Yeah, it is. This is a mellow train
7:35 station. Look at this. Very mellow.
7:45 You know, I kind of like this only
7:45 having a backpack
7:47 commuting around. Wonder if I'll ever
7:49 get to the point where I don't even have
7:50 a suitcase. I travel pretty light. I
7:53 could travel super light.
7:56 Granted, I did leave back at the other
7:59 hotel in Amsterdam. I did leave my
8:01 actual rolling suitcase in there, but
8:05 there's just something freeing about not
8:07 rolling
8:09 the suitcase around. Just having the
8:11 thing on my back. There's something very
8:14 nice about it.
8:24 I just unlock something in my brain for
8:24 future travels.
8:26 It's going to be a backpack guy. I don't
8:28 know. That might be tough. I already
8:30 might be the most light traveler ever.
8:37 We'll see how it goes. I'm on an
8:38 escalator now. Got my Crocs on again
8:40 today. I've been crocking it up. In all
8:42 truthfulness, well, 100% truthfulness, I
8:45 have no idea where I am right now. None.
8:50 I just got off the train. know at some
8:53 point I got to get over to my hotel
8:54 which is like 25 minutes from here via
8:58 ride share vehicle.
9:00 I'm just walking around.
9:03 I'm just walking.
9:05 There is a fountain here with dragons on
9:08 it.
9:09 Look at that.
9:11 People riding by on their bikes spitting
9:14 dragons
9:16 and a dragon up at the top.
9:20 This is reality right now. This is
9:22 awesome.
9:24 Soaking it in.
9:28 Soaking in the dragon at the top and the
9:30 spitting dragons at the bottom. These
9:32 carvings up here on this bridge.
9:48 this pillar at the base of the bridge
9:48 here over this river.
10:22 Yeah, quaint little place.
10:22 Well, cute. I don't know. Quaint's the
10:24 word, but
10:26 yeah, I guess you could use quaint. Very
10:29 cozy. Lots of bikes. A little less
10:31 hectic than Amsterdam.
10:46 I
10:46 mean, they just ate crap from the bike.
10:50 They seem to be all right there. They
10:51 got up awkwardly and rode off. Oh, he
10:54 lost his tire.
10:57 He lost his tire. His tire fell off.
11:00 He's right over here. All right. Seems
11:02 to be some steeples down that direction
11:06 or like a church or cathedral or
11:08 something.
11:10 And you got this big tree in the center
11:12 of the road. There is a fork in the
11:14 road. You go either direction. And to
11:17 follow any advice Yogi Barra give anyone
11:20 when you arrive at a fork in the road,
11:23 take it.
11:33 Some pigeons over here. Actually,
11:33 there's a crow right there. Not just a
11:35 pigeon. We got a lonely solo crow.
11:40 Hello.
11:43 Lady's feeding the birds.
11:46 Toughens a bag.
11:53 It's like you got one crow there. Well,
11:53 the crow flew off.
11:55 Yeah.
11:57 Usually you don't see the crows mingling
11:59 with the pigeons.
12:06 Crow flew off though. Once I got once I
12:06 got the crow on camera, it's like I'm
12:08 high tailing. I don't want to be seen
12:10 Have a good day.
12:13 Australia,
12:14 huh?
12:15 Australia.
12:16 No. No. From Florida.
12:20 Have a good one.
12:23 I get confused a lot for an Australian.
12:27 In other countries, people think I'm
12:28 from Australia.
12:40 Yeah, no plan. I have no idea what I'm
12:40 doing. I'm just walking.
13:26 No cars allowed through this area. They
13:26 got the little stansion barricades up.
13:29 It shows right here. If you try to go
13:31 across them, that will happen to your
13:33 vehicle. It'll be elevated on the front
13:35 end. Big warning
13:38 sign there. The exclamation point.
13:47 This is the Staint Jan
13:47 Cathedral. Saw a sign.
13:51 Got the stained glass there. Really
13:54 incredible building.
13:57 the steeple over that way.
14:00 All the decor carved into the walls.
14:21 Really is always impressive to see these
14:21 church buildings and just how much time,
14:24 effort, and money went into all of this.
15:25 And even on the ground, look at the
15:25 carving work on the ground here.
16:05 I do love stained glass. Very beautiful
16:05 when the sun goes through it.
16:15 Okay, I have ordered an Uber from here
16:15 to Kachchville.
16:21 I'll check into my hotel and then I bag
16:21 away, recharge for a bit, and then see
16:24 what's around the area that I'm staying
16:26 in.
16:31 I'll be here a couple minutes, four
16:31 minutes.
16:54 It's just so peaceful through here. So
16:54 peaceful and beautiful.
17:20 right here at this ery.
17:20 Yeah, that's definitely a big boy. Every
17:21 time I see a big boy, I'm reminded of
17:23 Mos Big Boy in Burbank. [music]
17:25 Whenever I'm in SoCal and I'm in the LA
17:28 area near Hollywood and Burbank, I
17:30 always try to eat at Bob's Big Boy. I've
17:32 eaten there probably a hundred times.
17:34 There are Fish's Big Boy also. There's
17:36 Big Boys all over the US, but I think
17:38 this might be my first international Big
17:39 Boy that I've seen
17:42 here in the Netherlands. He's holding
17:45 It's like an apple core or something,
17:47 but I think it might be something
17:48 different than that.
17:50 Oh, you know what that is? That was a
17:53 like a milkshake or something with a
17:55 straw coming out of it, but it has since
17:57 been
17:58 like it's not in the best shape anymore.
18:01 And this is the flag for the
18:03 Netherlands.
18:05 A little bit of a a breeze, but it's
18:07 having a hard time.
18:10 Come on, flag.
18:12 There we go. You notice how it's red,
18:14 white, and blue. Similar
18:17 to the US flag, also red, white, and
18:20 blue.
18:22 looked it up real quick and it said
18:29 it is one of the oldestricolor flags
18:30 used
18:31 current day.
18:34 Red, white, and blue in that order.
18:42 Netherlands flag
18:42 pole. There's a backpack up there.
18:44 Wonder whose backpack that is. There's a
18:46 skate park right here. No one's using
18:47 it. Well, at the moment, no one's using
19:09 I hear an owl.
19:09 I was looking at these very interesting
19:13 little bulbs on the foliage here. I hear
19:16 an owl even at this time of the day.
19:29 Well, 6:30 p.m., but still it's not dark
19:29 yet.
19:38 Just strolling around, enjoying the
19:38 shade.
20:07 You got this, pigeon. Come on.
20:07 Do the owl noise.
20:18 Okay, turn towards me. project
20:18 from a diaphragm.
21:10 Look like this neighborhood's making
21:10 good use of solar powered
21:13 roofs.
21:15 All of these buildings here, these very
21:17 unique looking buildings have solar
21:18 power panels. Solar panels
21:27 on top of the roofs.
21:27 See right there?
21:45 And up here as well.
21:45 I have stated since my visit here to the
21:48 Netherlands that the sun is really warm
21:50 and permeating. So why not utilize it,
21:53 right? Little solar goodness.
22:04 I like this little stretch of road right
22:04 here.
22:06 Looks like houses. Could be businesses.
22:08 Most likely houses. just like the look
22:11 of it. Especially this one here.
22:23 They're all similar, but also
22:23 different in their own way. Example,
22:26 this one all made out of brick.
22:44 That is such a cool looking building.
22:44 Juliana Strat.
22:46 There's the corner of it. Corner of the
22:48 road. It's on.
22:50 Cring Loop Winkle.
22:53 Name of the store. Looks like a thrift
22:55 store of some sorts.
23:02 Currently closed, but
23:15 Some artwork in the windows. Yeah, looks
23:15 like a little little vintage shop.
23:19 No dogs allowed.
23:39 This is like a really cute little
23:39 downtown area right over here.
23:58 a sculpture of a shoe maker.
23:58 Yes, a shoe maker
24:02 looking at his handiwork.
24:05 He is uh gazing into that shoe,
24:10 holding it up to the sun, making sure
24:12 it's to his specifications.
24:27 got his
24:27 piece of machinery here. He's even
24:29 wearing some of his own work.
24:58 It's an old photograph of this area
24:58 at Ada Raduse.
25:16 Surprise,
25:16 surprise. And
25:33 Here's a squishy fruit with bean.
25:33 Surprise mix. All these
25:40 vending machines here.
25:40 Another amazing looking church or
25:42 cathedral
26:22 There is a historical significance on
26:22 this as well. The post canour
26:28 could that possibly mean that that was a
26:30 post office or a police station right
26:33 there. Now, there is the dialect. Jouble
26:42 reading that, but looks like there's
26:42 some officers right there standing at
26:44 the the window in the door front, which
26:47 would
26:49 I guess be right over there.
26:51 Building still looks the same from that
26:53 1915 photograph,
26:56 which is kind of cool. Over here, if I
26:58 was going to have a salon,
27:00 I guess this could be my salon.
27:11 Capson Adam.
27:11 Notice how both of these two buildings
27:13 are kind of set inward from the other
27:16 buildings. These two all these made out
27:18 of brick. These are very sturdy sturdy
27:21 buildings. But I like that. Kind of
27:22 reminds me of aville
27:24 horror house.
27:27 Yeah, this little town a much more
27:30 low-key vibe.
27:33 That Amsterdam
27:35 just a train ride away. Another
27:40 quiet, peaceful,
27:43 plenty of elbow room.
27:55 Oh, here's some Winnie the Pooh stained
27:55 glass.
28:19 Oh, I like this.
28:19 Look at that. Classic
28:22 classic bug style vest. That's a
28:24 Volkswagen. That's awesome. Bicycle is
28:27 an old Dutch bicycle, but it reminds me
28:31 of the bike that the Wicked Witch would
28:33 have ridden on even with the little
28:35 basket and everything there. That's what
28:36 that's kind of reminded me of. This is
28:38 the brand name here. They haven't really
28:40 showed too many of the brand names of
28:41 some of the bikes here around the
28:44 country. I don't know. That's got a
28:46 couple flat tires. I think that might
28:48 just be for decoration.
28:50 Thing I notic is kind of interesting.
28:52 So, you have bike lanes. The bike lanes
28:54 is this reddish maroon color and a bike
28:57 lane over there. Then you got the
28:59 driving lane here in the middle. So, you
29:01 got a bike lane going that way. Bike
29:03 lane going this way. have a bike lane
29:05 going this way, bike lane going that
29:07 way, but all the cars, there's only one
29:09 lane for the cars, which means the cars
29:11 have to drive halfway over into the bike
29:14 lane
29:16 on either side. And this is not a
29:18 one-way street. So, you got into the
29:21 bike lane and then down this way, you'll
29:23 see there's another car coming. So,
29:25 sometimes the cars have to merge into
29:27 the bike lane. Like, example, that one
29:29 just went right into the bike lane when
29:31 this other car is coming through. Now,
29:32 that one's turning, but it could go
29:34 straight because this is not a onelane
29:35 road. It is a two-lane road. But you
29:38 also have the bike lanes. I was noticing
29:39 that in my Uber. He was driving me over
29:42 this direction. I thought, "Wow, he's
29:44 he's kind of just weaving all over the
29:46 road." But the reality is he had to get
29:47 to the other side with another car
29:49 coming this way cuz this is only enough
29:51 width for like one and a half cars. So,
29:53 you have to get over into the bike lane.
29:56 There's just no choice in the matter. I
29:58 thought, "Oh, he's just kind of he's
30:00 kind of weaving all over the road." But
30:01 the reality is he didn't have a choice.
30:03 You got to take
30:05 you got to take out part of the bike
30:06 lane sometime.
30:23 All right. Nice relaxing day. A little
30:23 train day. A little commuting day. Hey,
30:25 little
30:31 travel day into some small towns in the
30:31 Netherlands. Getting out of the hustle
30:32 and bustle of Amsterdam for a little
30:34 bit. Thanks for watching. I'll see you
30:36 in the next video, the vlog. Oh, what
30:38 are you doing up there? What are you
30:38 doing? A bird. That bird's going over
30:39 there. Is that the same bird that was
30:40 like howling at me earlier? Probably
30:42 not. There's a There's a lot more birds
30:44 than just that one. Thanks for watching.
30:46 I'll see you in the next video. The
30:47 flock is
