0:03 welcome everyone Adam the whoo here
0:03 today's adventure brings us all around
0:05 the Greater Los Angeles area to traverse
0:08 the filming locations the spots in the
0:12 1984 horror film classic from Wes Craven
0:17 a Nightmare on Elm Street there's a lot
0:21 to cover I'm inviting you to join me
0:24 shalyah
0:26 watch out Deacon there's a dog barking
0:29 I'm on the corner there a deacon is
0:35 tagging along he's gonna help me do a
0:36 little filming mash up some of the spots
0:39 also a big fan of the genre and how
0:43 appropriate is there's cobwebs all here
0:47 along this hedge watch out you're gonna
0:50 be attacked by cobs now there is quite a
0:52 bit of construction as you can see by
0:54 this fence on the left but should still
0:58 be able to match up this particular
1:00 location nothing really sets the tone of
1:04 creepiness than a jump roping rhyme that
1:10 took place right on the side of this
1:11 hill the little girls were I guess in
1:16 their own way kind of giving a word of
1:18 warning notice the concrete and brick
1:23 pillar still there
1:27 the child holding the dodge ball just
1:30 next to it there on the left and then
1:33 pulling up here Johnny Depp was driving
1:35 his automobile there are other cars
1:37 parked here but he would have stopped
1:38 right about here
1:39 Oh grrrrrr 805 right about there I often
1:45 wonder the gentlemen on the motorcycle
1:48 was he part of the cast or was he just a
1:52 random person driving by that makes way
1:57 in the shot because kind of does this
1:58 like unusual u-turn in the middle of the
2:01 street and they just left it in there
2:03 now this angle they use it a little bit
2:04 different lens zoomed in but notice the
2:07 pole there between the five trees it
2:10 looks like four but the second third one
2:12 are kind of meshed together that would
2:15 be the five trees there and there's that
2:17 pole so all the high schooler's kind of
2:21 standing right about in this section
2:23 before glen goes in the school him and
2:26 his friends were congregated here and
2:28 what I like to call the black dahlia
2:30 steps looks the same all these years
2:34 later you know - the green fence line
2:44 I also like to look at reverse angles
2:44 when the camera was facing this
2:46 direction the backdrop once i zoom in
2:49 it's pretty much the same the archways
2:51 entrances to that home identical it
2:56 really is too bad this is completely
2:58 covered it really is an impressive
3:00 structure also later on in the film
3:03 Nancy comes running out and she stands
3:06 right about over here right after she
3:09 burns her arm during the dream sequence
3:13 she had to wake herself up and it worked
3:15 but it left a mark hey you want to keep
3:21 moving on yep this ass bestest ridden
3:29 abandoned former jail is where the
3:33 boiler room scenes took place
3:36 Freddy's lair all locked up very ominous
3:42 looking even from the outside imagine
3:45 being in there in the damp darkness of
3:48 it lots of razor and barbed wire still
3:54 up and the old guard station
4:06 judging by the graffiti it is evident
4:06 plenty of people have been in here in
4:08 the past but as of now no access
5:14 from one skyline view to another a
5:14 cityscape there in the distance
5:16 established in the late 1800s this is
5:20 Evergreen Cemetery
5:23 the chapel here on the right certainly
5:26 has quite an aura of ambiance about it
5:56 to pinpoint the precise spot of the
5:56 burial location notice the headstones
5:59 here in the foreground one with the
6:01 cross above the marker and then also
6:06 this particular angle notice on top of
6:09 that is a very unique kind of like a a
6:15 broken sculpture you use that to match
6:20 this up now you are looking at where it
6:23 took place
6:31 framed up the side there's that cross
6:31 right there and it was a sliding shot
6:36 and here is that very unique item on the
6:41 headstone
6:51 all the actors were here cast and crew
6:51 all around I always found that
6:53 interesting that they featured rods
6:56 funeral and everyone here mourning his
7:00 passing when you know half of those on
7:03 site considered him to be the murderer
7:06 and how come we never see Tina's funeral
7:10 who suffered a very horrific fate just
7:14 past that clearing is where I just was
7:17 this was a tough one to find quite a bit
7:20 of wandering took place the chapel the
7:22 back side of the chapel straight ahead
7:25 so if you decide to pay a visit and
7:27 cannot hunt it down just to use this as
7:32 your coordinates trekking back across
7:34 the property where Nancy was sitting on
7:36 these very steps at the chapel while her
7:40 father was approaching from this
7:42 direction that monument could be seen as
7:47 he walked towards where I'm standing
7:48 currently she then sat in the passenger
7:51 seat of her mother's vehicle which was
7:55 parked here on the side of the cult or
7:59 McReynolds monument and then drove off
8:06 that direction
8:15 just to give a little frame of reference
8:15 with these screenshots here's the one
8:19 the other and the third name the IV
8:26 Chapel I was noticing even back in 1984
8:29 some water damage was starting to rear
8:32 its head and current day it has really
8:35 taken a foothold and chipped away there
8:39 at the bottom two steps she was sitting
8:43 on the third
8:51 we're going to get out of here let's do
8:51 it gotta keep moving on
9:02 in reality the police station is a
9:02 public library and she walks up the hill
9:06 in the dream sequence between the pole
9:09 on the right and the pillar next to the
9:11 stairs on that incline is where she went
9:14 up to look into the jail cell heading
9:16 that direction but first to walk up
9:19 these very stairs we're on a number of
9:21 occasions different characters stepped
9:24 up camera facing the opposite way
9:28 naturally this would be a different
9:31 perspective
9:32 heading into what was the police station
9:38 unmistakable architecture including
9:40 these items on the side of the wall
9:44 which can be seen very prominently
9:47 example Aysen point
9:51 taking the same footsteps
9:55 the pathway
10:10 this is the window the second to the
10:10 right
10:11 she would have peeked down in there
10:15 that's awesome
10:17 notice on the right that little
10:19 indentation carving in the rockwork
10:23 moved back the leaves there's that
10:26 little indentation I was just referring
10:29 to there's the window I am very happy to
10:34 report this one makes me truly excited a
10:37 classic moment where she's calling out
10:39 for her boyfriend still exists
10:45 I did not realize that was the case but
10:49 all the markings on the side of the
10:51 building just to the right of where
10:55 those windows are
11:01 just imagine this fence line here that
11:01 has been placed being removed back in
11:04 the early 80s and the camera would have
11:07 been tilted standing here in the foliage
11:10 and Freddy Krueger was behind a bush
11:25 Wow cramming my body through this
11:25 section I believe I can get nearly the
11:29 correct angle
12:01 you wouldn't know it at first but one of
12:01 the most iconic structures and all of
12:05 scary movies is right off Sunset
12:08 Boulevard in Hollywood down this road
12:13 it's incredible to think just how much
12:16 took place not only in the yard itself
12:20 of this home but also on the porch
12:24 through the door and up in the windows
12:30 up to the right just above the archway
12:33 the second floor the first wind up from
12:37 the middle on the right was Nancy's room
12:41 another scene was she's running from
12:43 Freddie she peeks her head out and yells
12:46 across the street there's a first window
12:49 to the gap they are on the left and then
12:55 right down here Krueger pops up and they
12:58 have a little wrestling moment right in
13:01 there that very portion of the grass
13:04 between these two trees where Glynn pops
13:06 out what she's trying to alert him
13:09 wondering if he's still awake watching
13:12 her during the dream sequence just here
13:14 on the right he kind of pops in and lets
13:16 her know he's still around
13:18 and speaking of directly hattie corner
13:20 is where Johnny Depp's character would
13:24 have resided very top left-hand side
13:27 that door that's also a window that's
13:30 where he was on the phone looking across
13:32 the street that his girlfriend
13:34 screenshot of his window there the
13:37 lights are on and who honestly could
13:39 forget when the mom gets yank through
13:42 the top of the door opening
13:45 I'd definitely had to hurt
13:53 more rhyming and jump-roping in the yard
13:53 notice the two trees with feet the
13:56 branch is kind of working upward both of
13:58 them to the right these are the two I am
14:01 referring to the one here on the left
14:05 has had one of the branches removed just
14:10 kind of pan around the girls would have
14:13 been right here in this patch of grass
14:15 that's where they were doing their
14:17 skipping and singing very distinct
14:20 looking one there across the way it's
14:22 like eight trunks emerging upward which
14:26 obviously means Glen's car is right here
14:32 in this spot there's that tree with all
14:36 the trunks
14:44 Thank You boys for mommy
14:46 arrive now on Glendon Avenue in Venice
14:52 see where this plywood has been placed
14:56 this is where Nancy was meandering down
14:59 this sidewalk and she witnessed the
15:02 arrest taking place at the end of the
15:07 road she walks past this very door 16:22
15:14 and you'll notice right over that wall
15:18 there is an archway see it a little bit
15:22 clearer perspective back in the 80s
15:24 before the partition was built
15:34 right there just to the left behind it
15:34 as she continues to meander she notices
15:37 very interesting character watching from
15:43 this corner okay you're doing a good job
15:48 you're playing the part I don't remember
15:49 him having any lines he just kind of
15:52 just like looks he just kind of just
15:53 stares
15:54 so just stare your motivation is to just
15:57 stare they got their man took him down
16:00 right in the center of the street I
16:09 believe that directional arrow is the
16:09 same one from way back then most likely
16:13 at least three and a half decades later
16:17 35 years plus that signage has been
16:21 there and noticed the webbing it has
16:24 been created glistening in the wind it's
16:28 a nice touch just a couple miles over
16:32 Millwood Avenue and electric court a
16:36 place that needs no introduction
16:38 Oh once you see it
16:40 I bet since then it's been difficult to
16:43 get a good night's lumber inside that
16:46 home
16:48 Tina's home
16:59 and as incredible as the front of the
16:59 building is it's what's around back that
17:05 really has me enamoured
17:27 this is it just to put this in
17:27 perspective the shadow being cast there
17:30 with his hat against that wooden frame
17:34 door behind the trash cans look at the
17:38 wood slats of the door precisely the
17:41 same ones there are two sets the one the
17:46 shadow was cast upon is this one as I
17:50 take a couple steps back you can see
17:54 where she turned this corner as concrete
17:58 stairs are the same she was walking this
18:03 direction how unusual
18:06 are the ornaments upon this building
18:10 here which was also on site during
18:14 filming
19:10 that's me whistling that's not it's not
19:10 the baby Fred not
19:29 a little bit of the architecture has
19:29 changed just a bit that house this looks
19:33 slightly different than it did back then
19:35 but that's where Johnny Depp ate his non
19:38 biodegradable container filled fast-food
19:42 meal she however was a little more
19:44 enamored with the book she was reading
19:47 one thing I was noticing when they did
19:50 the close-up angles it was not up here
19:53 on this area of the bridge because
19:55 notice the little screw markings into
19:59 the steel and the wood topping so when
20:01 she places the cover of the book here it
20:06 was either on a soundstage or somewhere
20:08 else
20:08 totally not on this angled style bridge
20:12 support also painted a totally different
20:15 color a bluish hue as opposed to to this
20:18 white version pretty interesting and
20:21 screwless in the in the close-up angles
20:26 interesting the things that you can
20:27 notice especially like I'm noticing this
20:30 is not wanting to focus okay there goes
20:38 deikun do your best Johnny Depp
20:38 impression that's good
20:46 yeah chow down did you pull that out of
20:51 a non biodegradable container you just
20:58 had an imaginary one isn't that enough
21:06 one of the last spots of the day I
21:06 should say evening
21:07 now the nightfall has reared its head as
21:09 the interiors of this school were used
21:13 for the hallway saints and a few others
21:16 obviously the school is closed and doors
21:20 are locked but still wanted to swing by
21:22 and even though during hours you
21:25 probably would not have been able to
21:26 wander around inside there however it
21:29 appears as if and get a little peek in
21:32 doors by looking through this glass door
21:37 frame oh yes this looks very familiar
21:53 looks eerily familiar no running in the
21:53 halls
22:07 that's gonna do it for today if you're
22:07 new here please subscribe by doing
22:10 something you know
22:24 make sure you check out deacons channel
22:24 I will put a link in the description box
22:27 to his videos go tell them I said hello
22:30 and give them a
22:47 nothing to see here just a slightly
22:47 overweight man dress the heat spreader
23:20 Indiana drug that okay let me do one
23:20 more just so I'd get the whole house
24:07 oh please God yeah he will yeah see
24:07 Emily yep yep
24:43 I fell asleep
24:43 I'm glad out of them right
24:46 I got old
24:49 what the heck
