welcome everyone Adam the whoo here
0:07
coming to you from Simmi Valley
0:09
California
0:10
the first time I had ever been to the
0:13
Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum and
0:16
Library at the top of this peak not only
0:20
sits Air Force One inside its doors but
0:23
also a temporary exhibit soon to be
0:26
ending of some of the artifacts from
0:30
Titanic and some of the screen-used
0:33
items from the James Cameron feature
0:36
film on the subject this should be fun
0:40
this is the very Bible that at his
0:43
inauguration he placed his left hand on
0:45
and swore to uphold the Constitution
0:48
behind this glass case it's that very
0:52
Bible it belonged to his mother a while
0:54
back I visited his childhood home in
0:56
Dixon Illinois and I stood at that
1:00
fireplace that he used to hide coins
1:03
under that piece of wood it's
1:07
interesting to be in California and see
1:09
the piece of wood from a place all the
1:12
way over in Illinois getting a start in
1:14
radio he eventually transitioned to
1:18
Hollywood the star of the silver screen
1:21
if you ever wonder what you would have
1:23
gotten if you were on his Christmas list
1:26
of smokes
1:37
yeah George you and I'll talk about you
1:37
the life of our two boys to grow up and
1:40
they just like you Sunday my mom is
1:51
creating a scene that you're a Hollywood
1:54
CA there you are yes
2:03
Oh rocks are rare when that thing nailed
2:03
heavy new thoughts this podium shows how
2:06
the teleprompter works the letters of
2:09
the speech roll on the television set at
2:12
the bottom and almost like a mirror on
2:14
the opposite side is where you do the
2:18
reading so you should be able to see oh
2:21
yeah right there
2:22
in this photo of Nancy at the
2:25
inauguration the outfit she's wearing it
2:28
is also located here there's the cap and
2:32
her dress it is a tempt of assassination
2:36
in 1981 in DC this is the jacket he was
2:41
wearing and you can see where the bullet
2:43
holes where they have them marked 1b 1c
2:48
to have this on display here as well
2:51
even though nearly everything in this
2:53
Oval Office is a recreation there are a
2:57
few things that are authentic to the era
3:00
all the items on the desk
3:03
he used the first lady was a big
3:06
advocate of not doing drugs and she took
3:10
her campaign all across the US and the
3:13
world
3:14
check this out a boardgame adjusts a no
3:18
board game and baseball bat just over
3:22
this railing is Air Force One
3:28
and all its glory look at this thing an
3:32
entire airplane
3:35
inside the museum hangar if that's not
3:40
impressive enough
3:43
it's got a pretty good view you'll
3:45
notice the number on the tail wing is
3:48
27,000 that is the specific number for
3:52
the Boeing 707 this was used by US
3:55
presidents Nixon Ford Carter Reagan HW
3:59
Bush Clinton and W Bush it's almost as
4:02
if that's ready to take off through that
4:04
window and last over the mountains it
4:08
also states very specifically no
4:11
photography allowed inside the plane but
4:15
they do take a professional photo that
4:17
they sell you on the front steps we take
4:20
pictures you can take pictures there's
4:22
no flash oh no flash okay get some video
4:26
as long as I don't use flash
4:39
it's not everyday you get to see the
4:39
cockpit of an Air Force one that is
4:49
there he is right there this was
4:49
stateroom one that's where he would have
4:53
sat nice relaxing couch and a map of the
4:59
back there that's probably the restroom
5:01
this little area was where Nancy used as
5:04
her office you can see a little jacket
5:08
there and a photo of her against the
5:13
window that's Gorbachev sitting on the
5:15
couch except I don't think that further
5:17
was taken inside the plane itself it
5:20
wasn't in this room but there's a lot of
5:23
different areas there we use through
5:25
here and that fruit over there that's
5:27
that's not real it's plastic from this
5:29
area was reserved for the Secret Service
5:32
it was like there's about ten seats
5:34
total and up here there's some of them
5:38
conversing with the president this is
5:41
just a bigger galley the president would
5:43
also carry with him chocolate cakes
5:46
he believed in personal diplomacy he
5:49
believed that he could get things done
5:51
on a face-to-face basis of many traveled
5:54
a lot originally on the pamphlet that
5:56
said no recording but inside the the
6:00
worker said that I could what you think
6:02
about the plane I loved it it was pretty
6:04
weird to think of that cake you think
6:06
that cake is edible that Reagan would
6:10
not fly between Christmas and New Year's
6:13
but if they did have to fly other times
6:15
of the year he would do research on some
6:17
of the faculty and if it was their
6:19
birthday he would feed them cake not
6:21
probably not from his spoon to theirs
6:24
but the line to get in has grown
6:32
considerably at a wait a while you want
6:35
to walk through there
6:37
why not in 1984 when this Cadillac
6:40
limousine was built it was
6:42
state-of-the-art at the time and it was
6:45
first used to take him home to Dixon
6:48
Illinois a homecoming of sorts
6:51
the motorcade has been recreated
6:53
somewhat starting with the police
6:55
vehicles the limo in the middle and
6:58
another vehicle in the back by today's
7:01
standards that would be considered very
7:03
miniscule when it comes to protecting
7:05
the President of the United States is
7:08
much more elaborate and in-depth today
7:11
than it was back then directly
7:13
underneath the plane and the line to get
7:17
in is a pub bearing his name if you want
7:21
to whet your whistle why not try a linen
7:25
aid
7:31
but there he is enjoying a pint in
7:31
Ireland where they transported this
7:35
wooden bar from and he would often joke
7:40
some of the other presidents like John F
7:42
Kennedy got an airport Lyndon Johnson
7:43
got a Space Center but he he got himself
7:46
a putter
7:47
at first glance you would assume this is
7:49
a painting but in reality it's made out
7:52
of 10,000 jellybeans it's pretty
7:56
artistic inside this room is a
7:58
recreation of the Berlin Wall equipped
8:02
with some escape tunnels
8:06
the children are darting in and out look
8:10
up top quite a bit of barbed wire and
8:14
this guard tower you have to wonder what
8:17
some of the words that were spoken to
8:19
those who private meetings with
8:21
Gorbachev and yes they have even
8:25
recreated lead the birthmark on
8:28
Gorbachev said I'm riding a horse no
8:33
really I'm on the horse even though it's
8:37
it's a fake horse but this scale model
8:42
of the whole complex parked over here
8:46
walked in the front entrance there
8:48
through the courtyard past that fountain
8:50
and into here and the and during our way
8:54
around here's the hangar where the plane
8:58
is and marine one and off to the right
9:02
there with the the mountain range you
9:04
could just see the vastness and
9:06
magnitude
9:07
of this place this American flag was
9:10
draped on his casket during his funeral
9:14
and the bugle was the same one used to
9:18
play taps the riding boots were placed
9:21
on a horse over the saddle backwards as
9:26
it made its way during the funeral
9:30
procession very somber artifacts here
9:35
now making our way into the national
9:37
treasure gallery for the Titanic now the
9:43
James Cameron film was not the only
9:45
movie to depict the tragedy in fact this
9:50
dress was worn by Debbie Reynolds in the
9:53
movie the unsinkable this shows what the
9:57
debris field was like thousands of items
10:01
from the ship were cast along the ocean
10:05
floor plates chairs even a child's doll
10:11
head was found they've done a very good
10:13
job recreating what the sea would be
10:15
like the light effects shimmering down
10:18
and I don't think these are actual
10:21
pieces from the Titanic just recreations
10:26
nonetheless
10:28
pretty incredible there it is at least
10:31
scale model version
10:41
this wooden replica was made in 1970 the
10:41
submergible that you see along the deck
10:43
there they nicknamed it Alvin
10:45
but look at all the build up the ocean
10:48
build up all on the sides of the ship
10:51
the titanium pressure sphere from inside
10:54
Alvin is down here and the top part as
11:00
you see in this photo that's right here
11:05
the top of the submergible an even
11:09
larger model replica pretty incredible
11:20
this full-size prop was seen in the
11:23
control room between every member from
11:26
later in the movie when the captain who
11:28
was going down with the ship the water
11:30
rushed in those front window but they
11:33
also had smaller versions so they could
11:36
film them on a much smaller scale and by
11:39
blowing up the screen would make it look
11:41
very realistic he would never know the
11:43
difference between a full-size ship and
11:45
a miniature look at the size of that
11:49
chair it's tiny sending out an SOS
11:52
signal on the Telegraph
11:56
is way before text messaging and phone
11:58
calls you had to send out a call for a
12:02
distress by typing on that little
12:04
contraption there some signage screen
12:11
used as well as the violin artwork and
12:16
handcuffs that ROS used this axe to
12:23
break Leonardo DiCaprio 3 it was a close
12:27
call she only had that one last swing
12:28
but they move the set here you might
12:32
look familiar to you this is the area
12:35
where Jack drew Rose wearing the
12:39
necklace wearing the heart of the ocean
12:41
right over there Kathy Bates were these
12:43
shoes and dress playing the role of the
12:47
Unsinkable Molly Brown I'm just noticing
12:51
above the people's heads that are
12:53
watching a short video clip are these
12:56
guys on the lookout tower with the Bell
13:00
be careful of icebergs fellas I heard
13:04
they're out there and a lot of getting
13:06
away from the movie prophecy and into
13:09
the real relics this is a piece of one
13:13
of the original life vests right there
13:16
as well as this deck chair there are
13:18
only seven of these left in existence
13:20
thrown off the side of the ship into the
13:23
water in hopes of using them later as a
13:26
floatation device
13:28
Wallace Hartley was the music and
13:31
bandleader onboard and this sheet music
13:34
as well as music pouch was found
13:38
strapped to his side once the news of
13:40
the wreck got out there were a lot of
13:41
organizations taking donations for the
13:45
family members of those that were lost
13:48
this is one of the banners used by one
13:50
of those companies the bracket on the
13:52
left and the wooden pieces are from the
13:56
grand staircase
14:01
pretty incredible
14:08
Wow
14:08
now I must confess I had no idea till
14:11
now that him and the First Lady were
14:15
buried here on property learn something
14:18
new every day
14:24
President Reagan and Nancy laid to rest
14:24
on the museum ground that's gonna do it
14:27
for today I ended up buying an annual
14:29
pass not only to this location but to a
14:33
dozen other presidential museum slash
14:37
libraries across the country especially
14:40
considering as much as I travel and a
14:43
lot of the special events because the
14:45
locations have any of these states and
14:48
cities I can gain access to so that will
14:50
come in handy in the future I do a wide
14:53
variety of content on the platform of
14:55
YouTube two channels this one but I also
14:57
have a main channel YouTube / Adam the
15:01
whoo where you can find more ambitious
15:03
arduous tasks that take a while to
15:06
produce film at it travel
15:09
I will save all those for that channel
15:12
this channel which used to be an
15:14
everyday vlog for over five years I'm
15:17
not doing daily anymore but I have
15:19
decided to start throwing content back
15:21
up on this particular channel and if you
15:24
enjoy that please subscribe no H of this
15:27
one but the other one hope you enjoy
15:29
this if you did give it a thumbs up just
15:31
push the thumbs up icon and that will
15:35
let me know if you appreciate what I am
15:38
doing
15:38
