0:06 Today's adventure brings us to a very
0:06 windy Daytona Beach, Florida. Going to
0:10 roam around and see what there is to
0:12 see. Welcome everyone, Adam the
0:16 Woo here. It has been a heck of a long
0:18 time since I've been in this neck of the
0:20 woods and tagging along the king of the
0:24 bubbly water- fil mountain,
0:27 world of Micah. Hi. It's my first time
0:30 here. I'm so excited. I've never been to
0:32 Daytona.
0:33 You never been here?
0:34 No.
0:34 Let's go look around.
0:35 Yeah. I'm inviting you, all of you, to
0:38 join me and Micah.
0:40 Shall you? Wonder if all those times
0:43 this fella made fun of Jaws in this
0:45 position. If he's regretting that now.
0:48 Who has the last laugh now? Marlin.
0:53 That was Jaws saying that, not me. This
0:56 is known as the diving girl. She's gone
0:58 through some changes since the 1920s
0:59 when she was first drawn. They've
1:02 erected this statue to her here. And of
1:05 course, can't show up in this neck of
1:07 the woods without seeing the Daytona
1:10 500. That big Speedway.
1:13 Looks as if someone's been doing a
1:15 little little sliding here. Tire marks
1:18 all on the pavement. Wow. There he is.
1:22 Dale Narnhard
1:24 standing on his number three. That's his
1:27 platform there. And someone has laid
1:29 some flowers out of respect. That place
1:31 is huge
1:33 to say the least. Look at the size of
1:35 that thing.
1:49 on the property of Embry Riddle
1:49 Aeronautical University, they have a
1:51 replica of the Wright brothers first
1:54 flight plane. You can see the more
1:58 daring of the two has perched itself
2:00 there on the inner wing using the
2:03 contraption to to guide it on the front
2:06 of the plane. See him up there hanging
2:08 around while the brother
2:12 watches from afar. What are you doing
2:14 over there? What are you afraid of?
2:16 Heights or something? Yeah, I don't
2:18 blame him. I like my feet on the ground.
2:25 Before you take the bridge over the
2:25 causeway to the beach, there's an
2:28 interesting man-made
2:30 river section in this park next to the
2:34 downtown area.
2:41 It's rather stagnant at the moment. The
2:41 water's not flowing, but appears as if
2:44 back in the day there was a waterfall of
2:47 sorts that came out of this rock
2:50 formation here. If you look closely, you
2:54 can see the hole and
2:56 where the pipe where the water speted up
3:00 and then downward and then into this now
3:04 dried up section.
3:12 right there.
3:12 Donor of the casino and the esplanade,
3:15 Burggoyne,
3:17 dated 1916.
3:19 His bust
3:21 is placed here in honor of this
3:24 gentleman
3:26 looking very prim and proper with his
3:29 stash and tie. And then down here,
3:34 his name is etched just below the bust.
3:37 Also celebrated is Brownie, the town dog
3:41 who roamed these parts for 15
3:45 years.
3:47 He was owned by no one, but loved by
3:49 all.
3:52 You will now live on in everyone's
3:54 hearts forever, Brownie.
3:57 Good to see you. They must be ready for
4:00 some ghost defecations.
4:02 There's a doggy pot
4:05 just waiting here. Also on site is his
4:08 final resting place, 1939 to 1954.
4:13 A good dog.
4:44 Not to be confused with the town dog.
4:44 This brownie was a postal dog
4:50 located adjacent to the post office here
4:53 in the downtown area. Born in 1955,
4:58 passed away in 1970. He used to sleep on
5:01 the mailbags and help the carriers with
5:05 their routes. He's tucked away here on
5:08 the side of the building next to this
5:10 tree between that and the ramp.
5:26 Across the way is Boot Hill Saloon.
5:26 Talked to one of the locals inside. Said
5:28 it opened in the 1970s and still going
5:31 strong. There are bras all across the
5:34 top of the bar and paraphernelia and
5:37 photos and memorabilia all along the
5:41 walls. Even Eene Warnos frequented here
5:45 and one of her articles of clothing is
5:48 stapled right here
5:51 as well. Just a short stones throw past
5:54 those palm trees is the water.
5:58 What do you know? Gifts and souvenirs.
6:01 It mascot is a big shark.
6:05 Look at those teeth.
6:07 I had contemplated mounting this
6:09 manatee, thinking they placed him here
6:12 for photo
6:14 opportunities, but after after touching
6:18 him, not structurally sound, made of
6:21 plastic, he would he would definitely
6:23 break considerably if I was to perch on
6:25 top. Not going to do it.
6:27 I love sea life.
6:29 You really do, don't you?
6:30 Yeah.
6:33 Facial hair on point.
6:37 Oh yes,
6:39 nailed it.
6:47 Appropriate sunear, shades, and a sweet
6:47 hat.
7:06 A rather impressive monumental figure in
7:06 front of the Sun Viking Lodge,
7:09 his trusty shield and ship by his side.
7:19 Quite the beard he is brandishing. And
7:19 that's not the only thing. This weapon
7:21 right here can do some serious damage to
7:23 his foes. His image is just prominently
7:26 displayed there on the mast on the wind
7:28 mechanism.
7:31 Is that what that's called? a mast,
7:35 whatever the wind blows into the to give
7:37 the ship its propelling force.
7:41 Could be using that term incorrectly.
7:43 He's very accommodating.
7:46 Look how happy he is. Even some
7:49 beautiful flowers down below. Are those
7:51 Are those patunias?
8:15 This is Carl.
8:15 The Vikings name is Carl. Says right
8:17 there on the on the sign.
8:20 Pretty nice. Pretty nice fell.
8:30 Carl,
8:30 you look weird when you sit
8:33 cross-legged. Hey, don't make fun of me.
8:35 Don't make fun of me, Carl. A rather
8:36 large tiki head
8:39 here at this Best Western.
8:41 Got to love some tiki.
8:57 This entire strip along the water is
8:57 full of interesting motel just kind of
9:00 wedged in amongst the new condos.
9:04 Example being the Grand Prix version.
9:08 And if this is not amazing enough, then
9:11 I give you I present you this.
9:15 It's like an old go-kart vehicle
9:19 being squirted and illuminated with H2O.
9:26 Something you don't see every day. It's
9:28 just It's just kind of like squirting up
9:32 into the seat there.
9:35 I don't know if I've ever stumbled on
9:38 anything quite like this before in my
9:41 travels.
9:43 The open road.
10:06 Not your ordinary ferry boat. This one
10:06 is not seaorthy,
10:09 but nonetheless awesome.
10:13 Heat
11:06 You'll notice here on the left of the
11:06 screen is a roller coaster.
11:09 It was operational until a few years ago
11:11 and they closed it down and now just
11:13 some remnants and remains of its former
11:16 existence, active existence,
11:19 sits along the shoreline.
11:28 And that's not the only attraction
11:28 fallen by the wayside. This go-kart
11:30 track is now closed. As well as in front
11:34 of the coaster used to be a ferris
11:36 wheel. It used to be planted in the
11:38 ground right there. To be perfectly
11:40 honest, on the way over, we were talking
11:42 about boarding one of the pods of the
11:44 ferris wheel, not knowing that history
11:47 has deemed it
11:50 forgotten.
11:52 No longer exists.
11:55 W.
11:57 Getting a pretty good sun glare for
12:00 effect
12:02 underneath the rails. See the drop? This
12:06 would have been a lot of fun back in the
12:08 day,
12:11 but not currently. Sitting adjacent is
12:14 some sort of simulator that you would
12:18 make your way inside that door, and it's
12:21 just right next to
12:24 this decaying item.
12:27 They're both
12:29 decaying. Looking at the name on the
12:31 side, it was deemed the Venturer.
12:34 It's like a space
12:37 space vehicle.
12:40 Going to peek inside
12:43 just to see. Oh, the seats.
12:46 The seats are still prevalent.
12:49 Some other Looks like there's some cup
12:52 of soup
12:55 in there. Also
12:58 quite a bit of trash.
13:01 The ocean breeze giving a little bit of
13:04 ambiance.
13:20 That's going to do it for today. If
13:20 you're new here, please subscribe. By
13:22 doing so, helps keep you in the loop and
13:23 up to date on future uploads here on
13:26 this channel. Take it a step further.
13:28 Ring that notification bell. And if you
13:30 enjoyed this particular episode, give it
13:32 a big thumbs up. It lets me know you
13:36 care. And I'll put a link in the
13:38 description box to Micah's video and he
13:41 covered a few other things that I did
13:43 not touch upon. So check it out.
13:46 The vlog
13:49 is over.
13:51 And speaking of this track, you can see
13:54 the checkerboard painted here on the
13:56 ground and also faintly against the side
14:00 of this concrete wall. Look at that.
14:04 NASCAR
14:07 fading away.
