0:13 welcome everyone I'm here today with
0:13 count stankus and we are in full motion
0:16 and a hike if you will to actually get
0:19 to the pra dam is that what it's called
0:21 the pra PR Dam prao dam here in Southern
0:24 California and as you can see we have a
0:26 little bit of a walk past this Barb Wire
0:29 along the rain tracks over that Hill
0:32 we're trying to actually get to a mural
0:34 that was actually created in 1976 for
0:37 the
0:38 bicentennial celebration and there is a
0:41 little bit of holoo a little controversy
0:43 on whether they should remove the mural
0:46 so before this mural is removed we
0:48 figured we would get a up close view of
0:51 History before it is completely
0:53 extinguished from the Southern
0:55 California freeway View and it's
0:57 actually right at the crossroads of two
0:59 freeways
1:00 as you're driving along through kind of
1:02 the deser regions of Southern California
1:05 you see this fantastic mural that was
1:07 created by school kids for the
1:09 bicentennial so let's go check it out if
1:11 we can make the hike join us shall you
1:52 definitely don't want to fall down this
1:52 little embankment slide off there that
1:54 would not be good look at all this
1:56 Rubble this is a perfect place for
1:58 rattlesnakes to hang out oh yes you go
2:01 first you go first count
2:03 stank see any snakes not
2:27 yet as you can see this is some sort of
2:27 water drain off area spill well from the
2:30 dam now we are not actually going up to
2:32 the dam that area is off limits but this
2:34 area right past the railroad tracks this
2:36 little pathway it's pretty much wide
2:39 open from the freeway and you can hear
2:42 me echoing through here here that's
2:47 crazy hello hello anyone in there anyone
2:50 in there hello hello it's talking back
2:55 usually people talk back to me but now
2:57 I'm talking back to myself my no no yes
3:03 yes that's kind of that's kind of
3:14 japeta tumble
3:14 weeds lots of tumble weeds that are not
3:16 tumbling currently at this particular
3:19 moment
3:33 so as you can see behind me there's
3:33 actually a big no trespassing sign and
3:35 not only is there no trespassing it's
3:37 also a government property and it says
3:40 Construction in progress the last thing
3:42 you want to do is trespass on government
3:45 property actually after it's well posted
3:48 as well as a construction area because
3:50 trespassing fines are way more and the
3:52 penalties are way more when it's a
3:55 construction and a government zone so
3:57 this is as far as we are going to go but
3:59 as you can see the main thoroughfare
4:01 freeways right there pass right by the
4:03 front of the mural so maybe we can climb
4:06 up here and get some shots but this is
4:08 as far as count stankus and I are
4:10 actually going to go today w w WP WP sad
4:15 Trum bone
4:42 looks like this area actually uses as a
4:42 helicopter pad those x's on the ground
4:45 the dam way off in the distance but this
4:47 is a major spill well where the water I
4:50 guess if it floods too much or if the
4:51 dam overfills the water would actually
4:54 go down the side of that embankment and
4:57 that's where the mural is you can see
4:58 the mural is still there there a lot of
5:01 controversy now on whether the mural
5:02 should actually be removed but that's it
5:05 a bird's eye view kind of 1976 marked
5:09 200 years of of our Bicentennial B 200
5:11 years of freedom in in the United States
5:13 and that year
5:14 1976 the uh students of Corona High
5:17 School came out and did this mural and
5:19 right now this is the largest mural in
5:21 the United States they had some help
5:23 from their school and also from parents
5:25 that got them to be able to do this it
5:27 says 200 years of freedom on the left
5:29 side and then there's supposed to be a
5:31 bell and then uh 1776 to 1976 but since
5:34 then taggers have come and really
5:36 screwed it up now what we're trying to
5:38 do well a lot of people not me but
5:40 people online that the creators of this
5:42 is to get it repainted again but
5:44 unfortunately this is a government area
5:46 over here owned by the Army and they
5:49 don't want people messing with it
5:50 because of all the tagging and also
5:51 because the paint they used originally
5:53 was lead paint
6:04 so that's about it here from the
6:04 bicentennial
6:10 mural you want to know what you think
6:10 leave some comments down below if you
6:11 think the mural should be saved or if it
6:14 should be removed if you're one of the
6:17 people who think it should be saved I'll
6:19 put the link down below onto a petition
6:21 that's going around to keep this
6:23 historical mural on the side of the dam
6:26 the spillway Dam or if you're one of the
6:29 people that think the mural should be
6:30 removed that's okay too leave your
6:32 comments down below and we'll make sure
