0:30 and this lane is paved in two separate
0:34 sections arrived at the cross streets of
0:37 the 200 East block of 94th Street and
0:42 LaBrea Ave in Inglewood
0:48 very close to LAX you see that plane
0:52 flying over fosters old-fashioned fries
0:57 a nice milk product that has tacos
1:03 hamburgers banana splits this is the
1:08 original location the one that started
1:10 it all started by a gentleman by the
1:13 name of George Foster back in 1946 and
1:17 since then has expanded to over 70
1:22 locations even some in this general
1:25 vicinity just down the road and go all
1:28 around Los Angeles that region but it
1:33 all started here and underneath the
1:35 flight path you can hear the laughter
1:37 you can see the plane going by right
1:39 there originally heard about this place
1:41 a few years ago from my friend Roscoe's
1:43 Soul Train who was really into the
1:46 nostalgia of the signage and the taste
1:49 of the soft-serve and through the course
1:52 of this one month series that I have
1:55 been doing so far it's still continuing
1:56 it took me till now
1:58 to arrive at one I thought out of all of
2:01 them why not check out the number one I
2:05 don't know if it's ever been completely
2:07 100% confirmed but there is a hard rumor
2:10 that the Beach Boys wrote the song
2:13 fun-fun-fun at one of these
2:16 establishments not this particular one
2:24 it seems like it it's a hamburger stand
2:24 down with the hamburger stand this is it
2:27 didn't always serve hamburgers not in
2:29 the beginning but they do serve
2:30 hamburgers now so that's what I'm gonna
2:31 go for I'm gonna go for a hamburger
2:33 maybe a side and then finish off with a
2:37 little soft surf it definitely has an
2:40 old-school vibe these are the kind of
2:44 buildings I really love really gives
2:47 gives back the ambience of the past just
2:52 take a gander at that beautiful item

3:02 the arm expanded the handout saying this

3:12 old fashions in quotes I guess it's

3:16 hear people refer to it as the
3:17 old-fashioned
3:29 quite an array of items here lining the
3:29 the window you know I'm going to go with
3:33 a number 2 quarter pound old-fashioned
3:36 says here that I could get the combo and
3:38 I can make it a shake a little bit of an
3:40 upgrade I think I'm gonna save the shake
3:45 and go with the cone after the fact
3:48 might not have to head over to a park
3:50 today I got to picnic tables here on the
3:53 side and two in the front which doesn't
3:56 really look to be too occupied so just
4:00 going to sit here total cost of the
4:03 first order about seven dollars and
4:05 seventy cents give or take a penny I
4:08 can't recall precisely but around seven
4:10 dollars almost eight us between seven
4:12 and eight dollars god they said there's
4:15 a secret sauce so I said yes put the
4:16 secret sauce on the old-fashioned combo
4:20 the number two I opted out of a soda to
4:23 get a water and upgraded it was an extra
4:27 dollar more from the combo price to get
4:29 onion rings instead of just regular
4:31 french fries so that's what I'm gonna be
4:34 consuming instead of Pig about five five
4:36 minutes give or take
4:55 okay there it is the bag has the logo
4:55 right there on the side stating since
4:57 1946 at the purified water and down in
5:02 there this is what we're dealing with I
5:05 guess I really don't need this on
5:08 anymore at the moment
5:11 that's a Hina wrap all of us wrapped up
5:14 so we've got the onion rings here I can
5:17 tell from the heat accusing from the bag
5:20 and South almost like a little almost
5:23 like a little mouse I get some of this
5:26 fried goodness and there is about eight
5:29 to ten eight to ten maybe even closer to
5:32 a dozen down in there I'm just gonna go
5:34 right in I should have waited just a
5:52 little bit all that give me a handful of
5:54 napkins we got some ketchup packets
5:59 there's no give my soap shoes for the
6:01 onion ring I get quite a feat ketchup
6:05 packets a total of four and burger right
6:09 down in there this is pretty hefty
6:14 burger yeah look at this wrapped up
6:27 see that goodness kind of oh that noise
6:43 kind of windy out here so I have to all
6:43 right check this thing we got I asked
6:47 they asked if I wanted cheese I said yes
6:48 so I got cheese on there the
6:50 aforementioned secret sauce oh wow this
6:54 is a very fresh I haven't been into it
6:56 yet but it appears to be a very fresh
6:58 ingredients we got the good slice of
7:01 tomato we got the meat patty on there we
7:05 got quite an assortment of lettuce a
7:08 good a good amount bounce wise of
7:11 lettuce and see some pickles out in
7:14 there I do like pickles
7:24 taking it foster's freeze yeah I'm gonna
7:24 call foster freeze but it's Foster's
7:26 because the gentleman's last name was
7:28 Foster
7:29 so it's is freeze and also people if
7:33 he's somehow an affiliation with Dairy
7:35 Queen on the west coast what's happening
7:58 that's a hamburger got no bones about it
7:58 that is I that is a roof of the jet
8:01 hamburger
8:20 very close to home eight when you take
8:20 the grill out the backyard
8:22 make it up maybe not the Paradiso much
8:26 but because of the ingredients because
8:29 of all that lettuce and the pickles good
8:33 size pickles and that secret sauce of
8:35 course
8:42 I didn't know what to expect before I
8:42 arrived I did not know
8:45 what the burger was going to be I know
8:46 the ice cream was probably going to be
8:48 pretty pretty fantastic buddy
8:51 it's kind of iffy on the burger I am not
8:54 disappointed at all
9:22 kind of wish there was one point County
9:22 far as I know there's not if there was
9:25 one in my neighborhood this would be a
9:27 frequented establishment

9:55 the ingredients 100% the ingredients

10:06 it's everything else

10:35 the onion rings are pretty much the
10:35 standard I would say they're like
10:38 anything above or below what you would
10:41 expect but they are a nice nice addition
10:45 which was above my expectations
10:50 I had a friend once when I worked my
10:57 last job I ever had was in a feed store
10:59 I worked there for quite some time I
11:02 worked retail for over 20 years the last
11:04 five years of that 10 year doing
11:06 customer service in retail I worked in a
11:08 feed store where through hey Harry
11:12 two or three 50-pound bags of feed on my
11:14 shoulder out to customers trucks is it a
11:17 little bit better shape then I don't
11:19 know if I could throw 350 pound bags on
11:21 my shoulder and not not take a couple
11:23 days huh after it now I had a friend
11:26 that worked there we were pretty close
11:28 and we would all talk about all kind of
11:29 random things and he had this philosophy
11:31 that if you drink a soda a coffee or a
11:34 tea a juice a shake anything if you
11:38 followed it up immediately after with
11:41 the same ounces of water that it would
11:44 flush it out and there's no there's no
11:48 mathematical evidence of this there is
11:49 nothing to say that that computes
11:51 completely and it's 100% true nothing
11:54 written in the in the books on I'm not a
11:57 doctor or a nurse or anything like that
12:00 or anything has to do with any of the
12:03 health magazines that I'd probably say
12:04 that I would spend it fascinating and I
12:07 like drinking water it makes me feel
12:10 good I do drink a lot of the other stuff
12:12 but I do drink a check
12:24 one went right over there earlier one
12:24 went right over this way so the flight
12:26 path must like not be exact there must
12:28 be a couple of different runways
12:29 together there's one over that way a few
12:32 hundred yards I was standing over there
12:35 getting though the wide shot of the
12:36 whole exterior one went right over

12:49 because she could kind of make a little
12:52 mountains of fried onion ring starting
12:55 with the like a puzzle
12:59 starting with the different sizes look

13:03 and then the little piece on top there
13:07 because like a snake it's like a snake
13:09 all wrapped up this is the snaky tail
13:11 I'm gonna bite the snaky tail
13:17 I've been taught since I was young not
13:17 to play with my food all bets are off
13:20 right now because when you're younger
13:24 you usually play with your food because
13:27 you're not hungry and I'm still hungry
13:29 so I'm going to I created an art
13:32 installation here that I'm gonna eat I'm
13:35 gonna take him one by one
13:57 that one was not don't think imma be

14:39 time to top it off with a delicious cone

14:48 sizes I'll do a medium medium vanilla
14:51 cone even along the bottom there they
14:54 have their logo paper wrapping that is a
14:57 good size amount of vanilla ice cream
15:02 don't mind if I do it's towering it's
15:06 not too humid today that this thing
15:07 probably will melt quickly
15:20 that's good saucer I'm gonna get a brain
15:21 freeze
15:30 I need a couple more napkins she asked
15:30 if I needed any more napkins and I said
15:31 said I was okay but I think I regret
15:34 that decision
15:34 you got somewhere
15:55 oh yeah a big point coming in up there
15:55 to hear it for the rumbling other

16:19 I see cold milk goodness no I eat some
16:30 sweets occasionally I'll eat a doughnut
16:31 every once a while usually I've
16:33 doughnuts like that's a month I don't
16:35 have the feet barks obvious I'll try new
16:39 treats and whatnot but my go-to is
16:41 normally ice cream or a shake I don't
16:44 even do that all the time it's not a
16:46 daily occurrence that I get this thing
16:49 is dripping in Florida they would this
16:51 thing we've already been nothing but
16:52 liquid this is like three four fifths
16:55 non-liquid
17:00 whose is dripping
17:11 standing on the road here at Inglewood
17:11 pasture buyers and onlookers on that
17:14 corner over there and back over there
17:35 that's gonna do it for today another
