welcome everyone it's time for a look
0:21
around Universal Studio Hollywood
0:23
backlot
0:24
join me shall you
0:34
this video has basically thrown together
0:34
with the purpose of showing you what I
0:37
was able to get a first-hand account of
0:40
by doing a walking tour of the entire
0:43
back lot the Universal Studios Hollywood
0:46
which is awesome because all these areas
0:48
and all these facades were used in a
0:51
multitude of movies television shows and
0:54
of course music videos that I've seen
0:57
from childhood through my adult life a
1:00
lot of very fantastic places if you
1:02
recognize any of these spots feel free
1:04
to leave some comments down below and
1:06
the minute and second point of what
1:08
you're witnessing and we can have an
1:10
interactive area of goodness Chicago no
1:14
it's not Chicago that's the beauty of a
1:17
back lot remember in Dirty Harry when
1:21
Clint Eastwood said do you feel lucky
1:23
punk well I'm gonna show you where it
1:25
happened right there at the bottom of
1:27
this building below the stairs right
1:30
there whoa what
1:35
you
1:37
just look at all these awesome buildings
1:39
these are not real buildings though this
1:42
is just a painting or a mural or some
1:44
kind of a weird thing made to look like
1:47
a building one of the areas that really
1:53
blew my mind was right down here using
1:55
countless movies but I know it from Back
1:58
to the Future oh my goodness look at
2:03
this the amazing thing about this front
2:12
facade is that it's actually covering
2:14
the original clock tower I thought about
2:16
walking up here and getting a view maybe
2:19
up two stairs where the clock tower
2:21
originally once was then I decided maybe
2:24
I should just mosey or walk around the
2:27
back and check it out so here's what the
2:30
back of the clock tower looks like from
2:33
Back to the Future this is the part you
2:35
don't see in any of the films pretty
2:38
awesome that I was able to go back here
2:40
and now I'm showing you sir babe
2:44
shopping cart this house was actually
2:48
used in the best little whorehouse in
2:49
Texas as well as the Beethoven sequels
2:52
with that big hairy dog and then I
2:56
decided to go down this way down this
2:58
road full of historic movie homes
3:01
this was the cul-de-sac from the burbs
3:03
and also from a bunch of other
3:06
television shows and movies and
3:08
commercials maybe you recognize a few of
3:11
these houses this was actually the
3:13
animal house house right there
3:15
Animal House and then over this way
3:18
that's the Munsters house the crazy
3:20
Munsters house remember them 1313
3:24
Mockingbird Lane that's what it looks
3:26
like now this is what it looked like in
3:29
the TV show awesome yes this whole area
3:36
is very cool because of all the old
3:37
homes including this one to Leave It to
3:40
Beaver house did you see it rewind it if
3:43
you didn't and let me know if you think
3:45
I'm correct
3:46
was that the Leave It to Beaver house I
3:48
think so
3:49
moving on
3:50
going to this area use and pirates the
3:53
Caribbean yes this area here in pirates
3:56
and jaws its dries speaking of horror do
4:01
you recognize this house
4:03
the original psycho house well I got to
4:06
actually walk up that's me
4:09
adjusting my hand pointing it towards
4:12
the window and speaking of the window
4:14
who was that up there in the window
4:17
did you see mother mother mother whoa
4:25
what was really cool too is I actually
4:28
got to go up close and personal with the
4:31
psycho house and actually touch the
4:33
facade and look inside I'm not no
4:36
looking there though but I am gonna
4:37
touch this fake brick and then I went
4:40
around the back side and I took my
4:42
camera and I actually viewed the
4:45
interior nether-regions of Norman
4:49
Bates's mother's house and here's the
4:53
back side of the hotel down there and
4:56
look at this crumbling structure of the
4:59
rock wall that led downward and who's
5:02
over there to the left is that Norman
5:04
Bates
5:04
no it's Whoville now that's strange
5:09
Whoville right there dr. Seuss's
5:12
Whoville is right next door to the
5:15
psycho house the Bates Motel very
5:18
interesting and very neighborly whoo
5:23
Norman Bates that's who
5:26
I was then able to walk around this
5:29
plane crash catastrophe site using
5:32
countless commercials as well as a very
5:36
well-known Tom Cruise movie look at this
5:39
airliner that they brought in and
5:41
destroyed specifically for the film and
5:44
they've just left it here as part as the
5:47
backlot tram tour normally you can't get
5:50
off the tram but I was lucky enough to
5:53
get up close and personal with this
5:56
wreckage awesome
6:08
I'm not sure if any one of the
6:08
passengers realizes or not but they left
6:11
their duffel bag right there their
6:13
duffel bag was left it looks like a
6:19
tornado or a hurricane or another
6:22
national disaster has actually wiped
6:25
this area out but it's all part of movie
6:28
magic created for filming so that you
6:31
and I can be brought into a fantasy
6:33
world an imaginary creation by directors
6:37
producers and other people who have
6:40
actually brought the magic and the
6:42
wonder of movies to life is this the car
6:46
from that one film hmm
6:49
also there's a lawnmower there which
6:52
gives a little bit of realism in a
6:54
toilet did you see that toilet
7:05
looks like they're doing a little bit of
7:05
maintenance in this area maybe preparing
7:08
for a new movie this was the area from
7:11
city slickers where they had the Running
7:12
of the Bulls where we're going to move
7:14
on into the area where they film quite a
7:17
few westerns a lot of older westerns
7:21
Universal Studios westerns were filmed
7:24
in this area down these exact roads in
7:27
these saloons and general stores there's
7:30
a bridge that has nothing to do with
7:31
westerns that had nothing to do with
7:33
westerns and neither does this but this
7:36
is the site of the Universal Monsters
7:38
Hunchback of Notre Dame Frankenstein and
7:41
a plethora of other epic monsters right
7:45
here in the court of miracles there used
7:48
to be a fountain there and Frankenstein
7:49
walks through there and the Hunchback
7:51
yes
7:53
might not look it to you but this lagoon
7:56
area was the spot the car was hidden and
7:58
brought up by Norman Bates at the end of
8:01
psycho and also this was an Angela
8:04
Lansbury's TV show
8:06
Murder She Wrote not that car that's the
8:09
magnum p.i car in the backs of future
8:11
two cars I'm talking about Murder She
8:13
Wrote
8:14
so rewind it and you can see the Murder
8:16
She Wrote village moving on now remember
8:20
the show coach well the same guy from
8:22
coaches and Parenthood and this is the
8:25
house used in parenthood I got an
8:29
exclusive walkthrough there's my room on
8:32
the first floor this is what the
8:35
interiors of televisions show homes look
8:40
like that's outside the window forced
8:43
perspective and up the stairs there are
8:46
no rooms just lights and cameras and no
8:50
action other than me roaming around
8:53
because they were not filming this day
8:55
or else I would have not have been able
8:57
to show you there's Craig T Nelson from
9:00
coach and Parenthood he was in both of
9:03
them on the same soundstage this is kind
9:07
of a neat exclusive look around this
9:10
exact filming locations there's a peace
9:14
sign Matt looking outside let's actually
9:17
see what the backyard looks like not
9:20
like any backyard you or I would know
9:21
just full of lights tables and chairs
9:26
lighting rigs very bizarre very bizarre
9:31
indeed but this is what makes television
9:34
happen and Who am I to argue with the
9:37
way television is made and now I'm gonna
9:40
scurry out the front door with you we're
9:43
looking around the front yard and a
9:45
trophy and another trophy lots of
9:48
trophies here a lot of talk about
9:50
trophies that I love trophies and I love
9:53
the fact that this Universal Studios box
9:56
was able to be shown back up the stairs
9:59
again not really sure why oh that's why
10:02
cuz I wanted to show you that and the
10:04
couch and outside of
10:07
the window here's some props from the
10:09
show have you ever seen the movie
10:11
Parenthood well it actually created the
10:14
idea for the television show have you
10:17
seen the television show what do you
10:19
think about the television show and by
10:21
watching this video is it going to
10:23
prompt you to watch the television show
10:26
these are all questions you don't have
10:28
to answer unless you desire to answer
10:31
them in any fashion then do so now I'm
10:35
just rambling and coherently because
10:37
there's really not a whole lot else to
10:38
say other than Parenthood film I should
10:43
have looked in that toilet but a toilet
10:44
was not opened that's one thing I'm
10:47
gonna regret oh yeah now we're in the
10:49
prop warehouse lots of fantastic props
10:53
tables chairs wardrobe all kind of weird
10:57
things that most people don't realize
10:59
that you see in television shows are all
11:03
stored right in here for rip does a
11:06
beverly hills sign and here's some
11:08
pianos any kind of propped et phone home
11:11
and Buddha all of these props can be
11:15
found here's a close-up of Buddha's face
11:17
and a gong not sure why I showed the
11:20
gong or this chair or why I'm going to
11:23
pick up this paperclip safety pin thing
11:27
here's some flags all kind of props and
11:31
wonderful things are in the prop
11:34
warehouse that the general public
11:36
normally can't get into I was lucky
11:39
enough to see this though this sound
11:41
switchboard how amazing is this but even
11:44
more amazing is this relic
11:47
who knows what movie this was used in
11:51
and this if you recognize any of these
11:55
old ancient movie iconic legendary
11:58
things make sure you leave some comments
12:01
down below so that I can read them and
12:03
others can read them and check this out
12:05
it's made of rubber not metal fooled you
