0:03 welcome everyone adam the woo here as a
0:04 recording of this sunday january 23rd
0:07 today's adventure
0:08 i will be
0:10 meandering around what is known as
0:13 paulie's
0:15 island the community
0:17 of paulie's island the oldest seaside
0:20 resort
0:21 in america
0:22 according to the sign
0:24 the hammock
0:26 is their mascot now it's not raining
0:28 the trees
0:30 are providing the precipitation because
0:32 the ice is melting is currently 34
0:34 degrees
0:35 and i am thankful is going to get up to
0:37 into the low 40s around 40 degrees today
0:40 which in comparison to how it's been the
0:42 last couple of days is quite warm now
0:45 take a peek behind this sign there is an
0:47 abandoned homestead or store
0:50 structure
0:51 back here in the woods now i don't want
0:53 to go too close because this ice is
0:55 falling from the limbs
0:57 of the tree
0:58 when i mentioned i was in this area
1:01 quite a cumulative amount of people said
1:04 you need to go over to paulie's island
1:06 and talk about and show and witness with
1:08 your own eyes
1:10 the urban legends
1:12 of south of myrtle beach
1:14 south carolina it's probably about a
1:16 half hour south
1:17 give or take
1:23 give it give or take a mile we flip this
1:23 around
1:24 i'm inviting you
1:27 so i'm excited about this something new
1:29 learn something new every day
1:31 urban legends
1:32 i don't do much of those but today i am
1:34 join me i'm just also going to kind of
1:36 go around the island
1:37 join me
1:39 shall you it is
1:41 that ice is melting good
1:44 melted real good
1:47 a very tiny piping hot caffeinated
1:49 beverage they were out of cream
1:52 a little bit of sugar but not no cream
1:53 in there
1:54 this is the oldest hardware store
1:58 in town known as paulie's island supply
2:01 and that's where i got
2:03 the coffee
2:04 i'm going down the north causeway
2:06 boulevard or north causeway road
2:09 to the first spot
2:10 this is only probably i don't know eight
2:12 ounces
2:13 it's a good start just crossed the
2:15 linwood altman causeway
2:18 now there's a sign before you go over
2:20 the bridge that i started the intro at
2:22 and there's also this one that says it's
2:24 the town limit
2:26 also the little cup of coffee i got
2:28 there was no charge they just gave it to
2:29 me complimentary because it is a
2:31 hardware store even though they have
2:32 fuel
2:34 and sell hardware they do have a coffee
2:36 machine
2:38 but i think it's just for i think it's
2:39 just for customers but i went and said
2:41 you got coffee that said here you go
2:42 here's a little cup of coffee
2:45 thanks to the hardware store here in
2:46 paulie's island notice how long these
2:49 docks are they go way out
2:51 like a couple hundred yards out there
2:59 into the water this is not the ocean
2:59 side the ocean side is on the opposite
3:01 i'm looking out the
3:03 passenger side window without the
3:05 driver's side window or homes and each
3:07 one of the homes
3:08 has one of these hundred yard docks it's
3:11 like the size of a football field
3:13 stretching way out there into the marsh
3:16 and even though it is a sunday
3:18 as i'm recording this
3:20 the paulie's island house of worship
3:23 must not be utilized by a congregation
3:25 anymore this is a fantastic structure
3:28 right here
3:30 on the water is elevated by the wood
3:32 planks that hold it up
3:34 in 1946 the georgetown ministerial
3:38 association resolved to erect a place
3:41 for worship for summer residents
3:43 so obviously there's some snow birds
3:45 from up north that live down here in the
3:47 summer well that wouldn't make any sense
3:49 the snow bird would be up here in the
3:50 winter scratch what i said
3:52 partnering with the local evangelistic
3:55 club to secure a building
3:57 and it was built and incorporated in
3:59 1947
4:02 and that is what
4:03 this is and it does say continued on the
4:05 other side
4:06 so just kind of browsing the other side
4:10 it has survived there's not a lot on
4:11 this island a lot of the houses have
4:14 been destroyed in a couple of major
4:16 hurricanes but this one has
4:19 survived
4:21 hazel which was in 1954 and then hugo
4:25 which packed quite a punch back in 89
4:28 to this area
4:31 but this managed
4:33 to still stand after both of those
4:36 storms this is not right on the water
4:39 this is on the road that runs
4:41 between the beach
4:43 behind the houses that are right on the
4:44 beach so it's just directly behind
4:47 behind those houses so the beach would
4:49 be as i just turned around to look at
4:50 these homes those are the beach houses
4:53 you can kind of even hear the roar of
4:55 the waves so
4:56 right on the other side of that berm of
4:58 those homes is the wall is the ocean
4:59 drove about a block down the way in fact
5:02 you can see
5:03 that structure along the water that was
5:04 just out down there about a block or so
5:07 away but under this tree also i should
5:09 point out this tree looks like something
5:11 you'd see in a tim burton film
5:14 very unique looking tree that is raining
5:16 down ice
5:18 melted ice from its branches
5:20 just standing underneath there you get
5:22 plunked on the noggin
5:24 by some ice cold
5:27 water in the form of ice
5:29 austin causeway was named after robert
5:32 francis withers alston
5:36 it's an unusual it's a lengthy name and
5:38 with it i don't think i've ever met any
5:39 name named withers
5:41 but also there was a bank
5:43 on the corner of the mainland
5:46 that alston owned
5:48 and continued around the other side
5:50 possibly
5:52 nope still says the same thing on the
5:54 other side the causeway
5:56 and continuous
5:58 con
5:59 the causeway and
6:01 contiguous property i'm never i'm not
6:04 familiar with that word remained in the
6:06 austin family until 1901
6:15 continuous the causeway and continuous
6:16 property i keep wanting to say
6:17 continuous another very iconic
6:19 historical structure that still stands
6:22 un damaged by the hurricanes is the
6:25 pelican inn
6:26 a source of many urban legends and a
6:29 couple of ghost
6:30 stories
6:32 if you will
6:33 anyone from this area in the myrtle
6:35 beach area especially down here on
6:36 pawley's island
6:37 will tell you the tale of the gray man
6:41 now there's a lot of different opinions
6:43 and stories and hearsay and rumors
6:46 about who the gray man is
6:50 that wanders the beach warning its
6:52 residents
6:53 here on pawley's island
6:55 that there is a storm rolling through
6:57 but one of those said
6:59 legends
7:01 was someone here at the pelican inn
7:04 a couple different stories
7:06 but one of the main ones
7:08 stated it was at the pelican inn
7:11 the gray man
7:12 been a lot of newscasts on it over the
7:14 years
7:15 hugo i think was the big one
7:17 where there was an elderly couple who
7:19 was warned by the grey man as the story
7:21 goes
7:23 and
7:25 their home was saved
7:27 and there's another story of other
7:28 residents that was told to leave i'm
7:30 gonna go over there and read this site
7:31 in a minute
7:32 they were told to leave and they did
7:34 and it saved their life thanks to the
7:36 great man and some say the gray man
7:38 still wanders along the beach to this
7:40 day
7:42 some say he started from here
7:45 his roots go back to the pelican and
7:47 some say he is a pirate
7:49 his face has never been seen just the
7:50 shadow
8:03 the pcj westinghouse westin house the
8:05 the land was obtained back here in 1844
8:07 and in 1858
8:10 the beach house residence was built
8:13 property was sold in 1864
8:15 to the atlantic
8:17 coastal lumber company
8:19 after an ownership change years later
8:21 the pelican the house was named the
8:26 it's like a pirate house
8:29 you just picture pirates back in the day
8:31 staying here
8:34 are
8:35 you imagining
8:37 the pirates that were here there's
8:38 another unique tree over there
8:41 it's also another story of
8:43 a couple of phantom dogs
8:46 that can still to this day be seen
8:48 wandering around the beaches that used
8:50 to live here
8:52 with a lady that lived here at the
8:53 pelican and
8:55 hearsay of course as the story goes
8:59 the dogs were wandering along the
9:00 shoreline
9:02 and there was a youth out walking around
9:04 went out into the water
9:07 fell on some hard time started to drown
9:09 the dog one of the dogs went into the
9:11 water
9:12 saved
9:17 the youth pulled to the shore
9:17 but the dog
9:19 unfortunately got a lot of water
9:21 inside its lungs
9:24 passed away
9:25 it is said that the dogs can still be
9:27 seen
9:29 these are all interesting stories who
9:30 knows if there's any truth behind it
9:32 these are just legends
9:34 that evolve over years that are told by
9:36 one person to the next and they just
9:37 become folklore
9:40 but those dogs resided here with their
9:42 owner
9:44 and can still be seen wondering they're
9:46 not the gray man's dogs
9:48 totally different story
9:51 but those are the two stories from the
9:52 pelican end
9:53 i'm gonna go show the beach
9:56 and then i'm gonna go to another spot
9:57 that's really really fascinating story
9:59 as well i was just doing a little more
10:01 research before pulling away here
10:04 i did not realize that paulie's island
10:07 was where the rope hammock was invented
10:09 and created
10:11 that's why their logo is the hammock
10:16 going away from the pelican i didn't see
10:17 any pelicans at the pelicans in but some
10:19 fascinating stories
10:21 for sure fascinating stories one of the
10:23 other stories about who the gray man
10:25 could be back in 1822 was a gentleman
10:29 traveling along with his fiancee
10:32 in this area and got stuck in a
10:34 quicksand-like
10:36 substance
10:44 it was soon after that that the gray man
10:44 first appeared here along the beach
10:47 warning
10:49 of storms
10:54 and that continued on up until
10:54 hurricane hugo
10:56 and then after hurricane hugo
10:59 he was saying the last time he was seen
11:00 was in
11:02 2018 hurricane florence
11:06 the gray man could be seen through here
11:09 and reading a little more on i never
11:11 heard of the gray man until this week
11:12 when i was in the area
11:14 and a few
11:15 people mentioned
11:17 the legend so i kind of been looking it
11:19 up
11:20 learning something new
11:23 and some see him he has this he has no
11:25 legs so no one's seen his face and no
11:28 one's seen his leg now there is
11:30 there's someone walking along the beach
11:34 i do not think that is an apparition
11:36 that is a real person
11:38 that is not the gray man but there are
11:40 some birds going by
12:00 so just picture seeing
12:00 a ghostly like
12:02 creature walking down
12:04 the beach that is that is a human that
12:06 is not the gray man
12:12 there's a storm a brewing get off the
12:12 beach
12:16 and then you leave
12:16 your life is spared thanks to the great
12:18 man that's that's the legend
12:20 it is beautiful out here feels really
12:22 good it doesn't even feel like it's low
12:24 40s feels way warmer than that probably
12:26 because the last couple of days it's
12:28 been in the mid-20s and the wind chill
12:30 it's not a lot of wind i'm standing
12:32 right here on the beach
12:33 very pleasant i could probably take this
12:35 off and it'd still be bearable for a few
12:37 moments not going to but it feels good
12:39 out here
12:41 no sign of the grey mat
12:57 means there's no storms
12:57 the storm has passed
13:02 okay this is interesting
13:02 one thing i like about the little
13:03 historical district here
13:05 is there's plenty of information
13:08 so the austin house
13:11 over here
13:13 now according to this and 1989 was
13:16 raised up on higher wooden beams
13:19 after hurricane hugo
13:22 struck south carolina
13:23 but the house remained in the family
13:25 until 1901
13:34 it was built in 1846 granted the marsh
13:34 behind it to him in 1847
13:37 so this would be the marsh
13:40 looks like there's been quite a few
13:41 renovations to this
13:45 being a house that's a hundred and 150
13:48 50 years old
13:50 but they said it was raised up maybe
13:52 when they raised it up they fixed it up
13:53 a little bit or possibly this is a new
13:55 house
13:56 the sign was placed here in 1998 and a
13:59 lot could change since 98 but
14:01 it is neat they have these all along
14:02 this stretch of road now this structure
14:04 definitely looks like it's seen some
14:06 years and survived some storms a lot of
14:08 new homes
14:10 but this one
14:11 yeah
14:14 that looks like one of the originals
14:22 the newer town hall is right over there
14:22 right before you go back over the
14:23 causeway to the mainland
14:26 but this town hall
14:28 looks to be the original
14:31 called the shack
14:39 got some seats over there
14:39 could look out across the marsh oh there
14:41 is a bird
14:44 out in the marsh
14:46 just ice falling all from the tree still
14:49 there's a bird right there hello bird
14:52 how's it going
15:07 i have found an artistic representation
15:07 of you bird
15:08 or at least someone that is kin to you
15:11 right here along this wall
15:30 this painting is pretty cool
15:30 check out this foul got himself a fish
15:33 right there that fish has a startled
15:35 look on his face like
15:37 oh this is not good for me says the fish
15:41 not good for me
15:51 oh yeah that's some cold water dripping
15:51 off that roof i melted ice not only
15:53 called the shack but also referred to as
15:55 the jack land building
15:59 see right up here
16:01 jack bland building
16:07 it was a real estate office
16:07 and the mayor okay the mayor is the
16:10 namesake
16:11 the original building was a real estate
16:13 office by mayor of mayor jack bland
16:18 and they remodeled the building
16:19 officially a town hall and information
16:21 center the late mayor bland
16:23 affectionately referred to it as
16:26 the shack
16:38 this sign was moved from the old post
16:38 office on highway 17.
16:46 i am not knowledgeable about every
16:46 subject in fact a lot of stuff i just
16:48 learn
16:49 when i arrive so these are very helpful
16:52 so i would have never known it was moved
16:54 from the old postal in fact some of the
16:56 stuff you can't even find when you like
16:57 do a search online so it's good that
17:00 they have some stuff like this
17:01 especially some of these small
17:02 communities this island located a half
17:05 mile east
17:07 was used by plantation householders who
17:10 lived on the shore
17:12 from may
17:13 to november to escape malaria
17:15 interesting
17:17 a number of the houses built in 1850 and
17:19 an academy
17:21 and a rectory
17:22 all saints parish remain a lot of unique
17:26 buildings through here
17:27 like this little one that leads out onto
17:29 like a overlook of a dock corner of
17:32 myrtle ave and 2nd street
17:35 someone going by with a boat
17:38 you kind of need to live in this little
17:39 area peaceful
18:00 a lot of the residents that
18:00 helped build this new new building the
18:02 new
18:03 town center
18:05 are down here on the brick but
18:07 i noticed these bird houses i wanted to
18:09 show
18:11 that was a turtle down here not a real
18:14 turtle obviously but just turtle down
18:16 there
18:19 i saw these as i was driving by i
18:19 thought that's pretty neat
18:21 some little bird houses there's a
18:24 church over here someone walking their
18:26 dog going by it's a church a barn
18:30 another building
18:32 cute little bird houses
18:42 i hear a bird
18:42 i hear some birds that might be living
18:44 in these
19:01 oh this is neat
19:01 paulie's rocks
19:04 take one leave one
19:06 spread some kindness
19:10 so you've heard of the give a penny take
19:12 a penny this is a give a rock take a
19:14 rock
19:15 i don't have a rock to give but i will
19:18 show the rocks
19:19 in fact over here some very decorative
19:22 rocks
19:24 but look at these there's bricks too
19:26 decorative bricks
19:28 there's winnie the pooh right there
19:31 there's a unicorn
19:42 please take only one rock take
19:42 one unpainted one
19:44 and spread the kindness so you can take
19:46 any of these rocks paint it bring it
19:48 back if you want or keep it
19:50 long as you trade off your rock for that
19:54 here's some toad
19:55 toadstools
19:57 the toads on the lily pads there
20:00 there's a shark over that's a very
20:02 creative rock
20:07 that's a neat idea i'm glad i walked
20:07 over here to see this
20:21 once again it is not raining that is
20:21 just
20:22 ice melting from the trees i don't know
20:23 why i keep reiterating that but
20:27 you get underneath these trees
20:29 you will get wet
20:31 i've driven back over the causeway so
20:33 technically back on the mainland now
20:35 still in paulie's island
20:37 the town of pawley's island
20:39 but the first thing i see
20:42 is
20:43 haunted trail
20:45 and i am really curious what is down
20:48 this road why is this caught why is this
20:50 given
20:51 why is this trail given that name what
20:53 is down here
20:55 what in the heck
20:59 i'm gonna drive down there look at this
21:01 all the ice melting it is just
21:03 down pouring down that trail
21:15 it's like a storm
21:15 but there's no clouds out no clouds in
21:17 the sky that's different
21:28 okay i'm going to drive down this trail
21:28 i have to i'm too curious
21:30 feels like we're in a car wash doesn't
21:32 it bigger foot
21:44 it's like hail or sleep
21:44 oh there goes the ice chunk
21:57 there's a rusted out gate right here
21:57 and i see some steam
22:02 is that steam going up from the ground
22:02 over there
22:12 oh what the heck
22:12 that says the hot
22:26 i just heard a crow make a noise that's
22:26 called that says the haunt
22:28 what am i getting myself into
23:03 where's that steam coming from
23:03 see all that steam and that it's like
23:05 off of the ground that's different
23:09 all right i don't know if this this
23:10 might be a private residence back in
23:12 here different see a headstone over here
23:14 too
23:16 and this could have been left over from
23:17 halloween
23:19 but
23:20 that entryway looks permanent
23:25 and this headstone looks like it could
23:25 be a prop but those other ones
23:28 look pretty real
23:29 this is a residential neighborhood
23:31 there's like four or five houses around
23:32 me
23:36 weird
23:36 huh
23:41 all right i'm going to circle around
23:41 this cul-de-sac and head back out just
23:43 out of curiosity i looked up the house
23:45 numbers through here
23:46 and the house numbers do coincide you
23:48 can search the house number on haunted
23:51 trails in south carolina
23:54 and paulie's island
23:56 that is so interesting
24:02 it is a real road not a themed thing
24:02 for halloween or any other time of the
24:04 time of the year this is a
24:07 this is an all-year road
24:21 so unusual
24:21 maybe i'm just kind of
24:23 over blowing it out of proportion but
24:34 keep in mind there are no clouds out
24:34 there is not a cloud in the sky right
24:36 now this is all from the trees
24:39 the haunted trail
24:42 paulie's island
24:45 okay that was an experience
24:47 i am easily entertained in case you
24:49 didn't notice and it's located right
24:50 next to the hammock shops village
24:53 and it says right there
25:02 home of the original pawleys island rope
25:02 hammock established 1938 the hammock
25:06 was invented here
25:11 they also have
25:13 sweater weather styles
25:15 for you at affordable
25:17 at affordables apparel
25:20 sweater weather styles for you
25:21 at affordables
25:23 apparel directly in front of me is the
25:25 original hammock shop
25:27 that's the one the original
25:30 still open to this day if you want to
25:31 buy i'm not i'm not in the market for a
25:33 hammock but there's a couple right there
25:35 on the porch
25:37 there's a sign right there that says the
25:38 original hammock shop home of
25:42 rope hammock
25:44 once again it's not raining it's melting
25:47 ice
25:52 from the trees
25:52 drove about a mile or so mile or two
25:55 away i want to show what sign used to be
25:57 standing
25:58 right where i am it has been removed
26:02 you can see my shadow don't be don't be
26:04 frightened
26:05 just my shadow
26:07 and that sign used to
26:10 sit right here
26:11 and the wooden side has been replaced by
26:13 this metal one but even the riding has
26:15 been
26:16 taken off of there
26:18 this is the all saints parish dating
26:20 back to 1767.
26:27 and there is a new church building just
26:27 across the road from me just off to the
26:29 side there's just
26:31 finished for the day because it is a
26:32 sunday as a recording of this
26:35 created out of prince george
26:39 winion parish in 1767.
26:45 continued on the other side
26:45 i don't know if i'd go through these
26:47 the moss here
26:49 to see
26:51 there it is
26:53 sanctuary was built in 1847
26:55 but burned in 1915 and was replaced in
26:58 1917
27:00 by a church replicated the design of a
27:02 smaller scale
27:03 listed on the national register of
27:05 historic places in 1998
27:07 current sanctuary which is right across
27:09 the road a much bigger building
27:12 a few years after that
27:14 now it does say open 8 a.m till dark and
27:17 it is between those hours so i should be
27:20 able to walk in
27:22 let's just see how this opens
27:25 ah there it is very simple not even a
27:27 latch
27:28 so this is the same riding that used to
27:30 be on that sign right there
27:33 i am looking for the resting place
27:36 well that is that is a subject that
27:39 some agree and some disagree on
27:41 of alice flag
27:45 somewhere in
27:46 here a
27:50 urban legend
27:52 so much in fact
27:53 that i had to come check it and see it
27:54 with my own eyes
28:01 now here's another alice this is the
28:01 middle name
28:03 not the alice i am looking for but this
28:04 is another one
28:06 sacred to the memory of
28:09 bentley
28:10 and alice weston
28:13 so it was a couple
28:22 with the road going by over there not
28:22 far off the property
28:25 just to show exactly where alice
28:28 is something
28:31 i will kind of spin around now the story
28:33 of alice
28:35 is an interesting one
28:37 alice flag fell in love like many do
28:41 but her family did not agree with who
28:43 she was
28:45 who she wanted to be with
28:47 in fact her brother was a doctor now i'm
28:49 just going off of what i have recently
28:51 read and learned
28:58 i'm not a historian by any means
28:58 but i would say as far as this area of
29:00 south carolina goes
29:03 probably one of the the biggest urban
29:05 legends or at least
29:06 stories folklore stories
29:10 that get passed on from generation to
29:11 generation
29:13 alice's brother was a doctor and alice
29:16 fell sick
29:17 and even though
29:18 her brother said
29:20 that her and her fa her whole family but
29:22 her brother especially did not want her
29:25 with the gentleman that she was courting
29:32 and she kept it a secret the ring
29:32 that he gave her the love of her life
29:35 she kept around her neck hidden
29:38 out of sight underneath her clothes
29:41 and when she became sick when her
29:43 brother started taking care of her he
29:45 discovered you know by doing
29:48 medical check-up on her
29:54 that the ring still existed her the ring
29:54 did exist and then she had still kept
29:56 seeing
29:58 who he frowned upon
30:04 so as the story goes he stopped taking
30:04 care of her he did not want to
30:06 continue
30:08 watching after his very ill sister
30:12 and because of that she passed away
30:15 there's a lot more to it obviously
30:18 but that's the cliff notes version if
30:20 you will
30:26 it's also said out of spite
30:26 when she was laid here
30:29 she was disowned by the family
30:32 and the headstone does not even bear her
30:34 last name just alice
30:37 and whatever you believe no matter what
30:39 you believe
30:44 you have to find it interesting
30:44 that a storm has blown down this tree
30:48 upon
30:49 what some say is her resting spot
30:53 coincidence
30:54 could be
30:55 most likely is
30:57 but when i walked over here and
30:58 discovered that this tree
31:00 has fallen completely
31:03 part of the branch has fallen right
31:05 between her
31:07 and her brother
31:08 the doctor
31:11 who you could thank for her demise for
31:13 not
31:14 taking care of her out of jealousy for
31:16 the man she was dating
31:18 it's very interesting that this tree
31:20 branch
31:22 huge tree branch has fallen
31:24 from the side
31:26 split almost as if it was struck by
31:28 lightning it wasn't
31:29 but you could almost picture it being
31:30 struck by lightning
31:37 right down and fallen
31:37 onto her
31:38 brother's grave
31:44 supernatural
31:44 anger all coincidence but i found it
31:48 oddly fascinating based on the story do
31:50 your own research this has been covered
31:53 by quite a few people
31:58 but definitely an interesting legend
31:58 here
32:00 now you'll also notice that there's not
32:02 a lot of grass around the side
32:05 of where alice is
32:06 that's because there is another myth
32:09 that if you run around a dozen times 13
32:12 times something like that i can't
32:13 remember the number but if you run
32:15 around this
32:17 she will appear i don't know if that's
32:19 true i'm not gonna run around this
32:21 it's wet
32:23 and it's not really my thing i'm not
32:24 gonna i'm not gonna run around and hope
32:26 to see alice but
32:32 you can see her last name is not on
32:32 there i've also heard that sometimes
32:34 people will place rings i've seen photos
32:36 online of people leave flowers here and
32:39 they leave rings obviously it's not
32:40 really the best weather inclement
32:42 weather to be doing that but because her
32:44 brother who is laid over here
32:48 when he found out
32:50 and stopped
32:51 taking care of her medically
32:54 took the ring ripped it off of her neck
32:56 and threw the ring out
32:59 either into a river into the the ocean
33:02 into a swampy section and the ring was
33:04 never found again
33:09 so those that want to pay their respects
33:09 to
33:10 the legacy of alice
33:12 will leave the ring
33:15 rings here for her
33:17 right now there's no rings left
33:20 very interesting once again
33:22 plenty of info out there
33:27 if i just wanted to see this i just
33:28 wanted to see this with my own eyes the
33:30 tree did not fall on any other areas
33:32 except right
33:35 where her brother is
33:41 interesting in fact this is the entire
33:46 family plot of flag and you'll see that
33:49 all of them bear a last name
33:51 f-l-a-g-g
33:57 this would be the family plot
33:57 the only one that does not bear
34:00 the last name on the family plot
34:07 is alice
34:09 allard
34:11 bellen flag
34:14 was the doctor her brother here
34:24 and this ice storm has taken down this
34:26 and now
34:34 he has this branch laying across
34:34 so you couldn't even run around that
34:37 a dozen or more times
34:38 if you wanted to do the circle around
34:40 and try that experiment now another
34:43 interesting thing after i was
34:44 researching a little bit more
34:46 it has been debunked if you will
34:49 it has said that it is not true as with
34:51 anything
34:52 that over time
34:54 you know becomes like a legend
34:57 you'll have those that say that's not
34:59 true and they say
35:00 that this is a different family member
35:02 this is not the alice that everyone says
35:05 it is
35:07 so it's up for interpretation on
35:10 what you believe
35:11 on the stories here in south carolina
35:13 just south of myrtle beach south
35:15 carolina
35:38 i don't know what the proper etiquette
35:38 would be
35:42 water's falling on my head it's cold but
35:42 the hoodie up
35:45 should i move the branch or leave the
35:54 it's a pretty big branch i'll probably
35:54 wait for a caretaker to move it plus
35:58 i don't know if it's my decision to move
36:00 this
36:01 especially says it's now laying on the
36:05 with the sister here
36:06 that he wronged
36:12 yeah i'm just going to leave this i'm
36:12 going to leave this big tree branch here
36:14 which is the size of a small tree of its
36:16 own
36:27 i thought about moving it but more i
36:27 think about it
36:28 that's not for me to do
37:04 i'll see the next video
37:04 the vlog
