0:08 i am boarding a plane on united airlines
0:11 with a layover in houston texas i am
0:14 going first class
0:16 window seats on both of them the last
0:19 time i flew from florida to here
0:21 actually technically from atlanta to
0:24 here
0:24 did not do the first class every once in
0:26 a while i do it's because you know i'm
0:27 six foot three i am not thin it's nice
0:29 to have some leg room
0:31 and just
0:32 kind of pamper yourself sometimes so
0:34 that's what i'm doing today this time
0:36 united airlines
0:37 inviting you to join
0:39 shall you the first flight departs at
0:42 1209
0:43 after noon and it's about 10 40 right
0:46 now so i got a little bit of time i
0:47 didn't get here too early but early
0:48 enough and this is this airport's not
0:51 too busy it's not lax's john wayne
0:53 there's a total of four boards two for
0:56 departures two for arrivals in
0:58 comparison to some larger
1:00 airports
1:01 this is pretty moderate and there's not
1:03 a lot of long wait time to go through
1:04 the checkpoints and all that and the one
1:06 i will be boarding is the top one of the
1:08 houston's right there it's like 12 1244
1:13 at 1209 and it's on time
1:15 gate 10.
1:21 now they do have this area where you can
1:21 print out a paper boarding pass i have
1:24 done mine mobley checked in online
1:26 we did it that way so it's just a qr
1:28 code
1:29 that they scan makes it pretty simple
1:31 but you can also use the paper paper
1:33 versions as well if you so choose right
1:34 here should also note there is no direct
1:37 flight
1:39 out of this airport to orlando so there
1:40 always is a layover but the time saved
1:44 not sitting in traffic
1:46 up to the greater los angeles area is
1:48 pretty nice also add in the wait times
1:50 for the checkpoints considerably less
1:53 considerably
1:54 less
2:01 maybe only about 30 people
2:01 from what i'm saying if i had to guess
2:03 and had to say it's you know probably
2:04 about five or ten minutes tops
2:06 wait time i can handle that definitely
2:09 handle that now if i was under 12 or
2:11 over 75 i would still have to remove
2:14 liquids and laptops but i could leave my
2:16 shoes on
2:17 and head wear on but because i'm
2:20 i'm not either of those i have to take
2:21 my hat off and
2:23 my shoes off
2:25 i am not i am not pre-checked yet
2:27 i'll do that one of these days the
2:28 pre-check line is right over there it's
2:30 a few few people shorter
2:32 that was relatively quick
2:34 didn't take too long yeah one of these
2:36 days i'm going to sign up for the
2:37 pre-check it would save me a little bit
2:39 of time especially in the busier
2:40 airports but for now i'm just i just
2:42 take my shoes and belt off
2:44 like everyone else and i put my shoes
2:46 back on
2:47 one at a time
2:49 was that the saying i put my pants on
2:51 pant legs on what it is something like
2:53 that this is gate nine gate 10 is the
2:55 one where my plane will be pulling in to
2:57 the station it has not arrived yet but i
2:59 just wanted to give a look at one of the
3:00 other united airliners that's parked
3:02 adjacent this is kind of like the
3:04 neighboring plane once my arrives i'll
3:06 show that one that's pulling into the
3:08 port as well
3:09 so that's number nine
3:10 number 10
3:12 is right over there so my plane will be
3:13 arriving right there to that little
3:15 little walkway very soon and also
3:18 peeking out this side of the window at
3:19 gate eight is another united flight
3:22 the window's a little a little dirty but
3:24 you can still
3:26 you still see it pretty well now there
3:28 is a ruby diner in
3:31 i'm gonna wait here get a meal on the
3:32 plane i'm hoping they have a meal on the
3:34 plane as well this is a little bit
3:35 better angle so you get gate number
3:37 eight there of course gate number nine
3:39 right over look at that van down there
3:41 that aviation van it's like something
3:43 the a-team
3:44 would drive ea barakas
3:47 might be maybe
3:49 maybe mr t and b.a barakas are have
3:52 i never mind i'm gonna say maybe he's
3:53 working at the airport but
3:55 it's similar kind of looks like my old
3:57 van too
3:58 i guess my old van was similar to the 18
4:00 18 van
4:02 as well i never thought of it that way
4:05 if i still had my van i could get it
4:06 painted like the 18 van
4:08 you know what's one thing that's funny
4:10 though mr t's character b.a barakas
4:12 hated to fly
4:14 so it's kind of a nice tie-in right they
4:16 have this artwork here which makes you
4:18 feel as if you're on the side of a hill
4:20 in the meadows and in reality you're in
4:22 the hustle and bustle of an airport oh
4:25 goodness there's a helicopter landing
4:26 look at that helicopter it just landed
4:29 i almost missed it
4:30 a helicopter just landed here at the
4:32 airport
4:37 this place is a real beehive
4:38 of activity ooh getting a little behind
4:40 the scenes here at gate nine
4:41 gate nine is pulling away from that
4:44 airliner
4:45 and there's another delta airliner about
4:46 to take off on the runway over there
4:49 and then the luggage carts going by
4:52 i find all this stuff fascinating
4:55 just just flying in general
4:58 such a cool experience
5:00 i used to be frightened of it years ago
5:02 when i hadn't flown many times this guy
5:04 down here is dancing
5:06 that's kind of how i feel when i'm about
5:07 to board an airplane
5:08 he feels that way at work it's pretty
5:10 good to see people happy
5:12 he's dancing down there
5:20 hey this other one's about to take off
5:20 all right i'm gonna wait oh and then
5:22 another employees employee's playing the
5:24 drums
5:25 down there on the sticks

5:38 i have too much fun with these flights
5:38 i do believe it is happening gate 10 my
5:41 plane is now pulling up to well off the
5:44 tarmac which is just another word for
5:46 concrete
5:47 pulling into i get it
5:49 for some reason i keep saying that
5:51 the pulling into the station bit
5:53 never gets old in my mind but it
5:54 probably does
5:55 probably does get old

6:11 as the walkway pulls up like an
6:13 accordion
6:14 it's gonna like kind of attach itself to

6:34 plane from rolling around as long as no
6:36 one walks underneath that ladder the
6:38 luck will still be good because it is
6:41 bad luck to walk underneath hope there's
6:42 another united flight landing
6:44 and another teeny tiny personal plan
6:47 going by
6:48 no one walked under that ladder you can
6:50 go around the ladder just don't go
6:52 underneath it i don't need any bad luck
6:54 on this fight
6:56 you can see the passengers who are about
6:57 to deboard
6:59 their exit is now being or not exit
7:01 their luggage is now being pulled off
7:02 don't walk under that ladder sir
7:05 now this gentleman is pulling the hose
7:07 across from
7:09 the fuel station
7:11 okay that's neat
7:12 seeing the fueling up of the plane i'm
7:15 gonna be getting on
7:16 so he's pulling that very heavy hose
7:19 across up he didn't go underneath okay
7:21 oh that's what's happening he's gonna
7:23 climb the ladder
7:24 and stick the hose into the wing peeking
7:27 in the door there
7:29 up and there's another united flight
7:31 backing out
7:33 being taxied out
7:35 getting the opening of the door the food
7:37 door
7:38 as i would refer to it as
7:40 to put the meals on the sky chefs
7:44 are about to take care of business
7:46 looks as if there are 22 gates because
7:50 the size of the airport not too massive
7:52 and i'm just kind of pacing around a
7:54 little bit looking at you know from a
7:55 from another window looking at my
7:57 airplane from gate 10 from the other
7:59 angle and it looks as if they
8:01 were here okay group one that is my
8:03 group and the boarding process has now
8:06 begun my seat is 4a it's a window seat
8:10 i believe that the fourth row back on
8:12 the
8:13 window i can't remember which side
8:14 though
8:15 one both both flights today are on two
8:18 different sides two different wings i
8:20 wanted to get a couple different angles
8:22 all right
8:23 leaving this airport admit

15:03 always chewing gum keeps my ears from

15:05 especially on takeoff and landings but
15:08 just force a habit on the on the entire
15:11 unless i'm drinking a beverage or eating

15:14 might get a few knobs here out of it so
15:16 we're gonna go and turn the seatbelt

21:04 now the boarding time is 6 40.

21:09 probably has something to do with the
21:10 weather the inclement weather

21:19 i can i can i can handle an hour delay
21:22 i miss a long travel day anyway when you
21:23 have layovers
21:26 and what else what else do i have to do
21:29 i have no choice i have to be i have to

21:47 and this is not my plane obviously
21:47 because it hasn't arrived yet

22:17 it says i can pick a different one if i

22:20 however it doesn't really make a lot of
22:21 sense because
22:23 this is the soonest i could get there so
22:25 i'm just gonna just gonna stay with the
22:26 same one
22:27 even though it's just an hour to last
22:28 that's really in all honesty not that
22:30 bad of course that's if it still stays
22:32 at this time frame with the weather
22:34 being like it is
22:39 it could get really exciting and be
22:39 delayed even more
22:41 i'm just going to put it into the i'm
22:43 just going to put it in the universe and
22:44 put it out there that that doesn't
22:45 happen though
22:47 look at all these planes look at all

22:58 if it stays like this it should be a fun

23:19 just look how many vehicles are down

23:36 it's on wheels so i wouldn't call it a

23:38 but it pulls the plane out see how it's
23:42 see how it's taxiing it out so it's the
23:44 taxi it's called a taxi not a barge
23:47 not a land barge
23:48 and there's someone screaming behind me
23:52 very much so yeah i know these layovers
23:54 can really be
23:55 taxing
23:57 no pun intended
23:59 i know how you feel
24:04 especially when those are the lie
24:10 i do know it's cliche
24:10 oh look at that little vehicle i do know
24:12 it's very cliche and almost
24:15 too typical
24:17 to even state this
24:20 but because of this delay for me

24:34 i just had something very interesting
24:36 happen to me for the first time
24:38 in doing these airplane travel type of
24:40 videos
24:42 ended up having a couple of

24:46 plainclothes security walk up to me and
24:48 asked me what i was doing showed me
24:49 their badges pulled me to the side kind
24:51 of pulled me over away from everything
24:54 and questioned me and then after after a
24:56 while
24:58 i started to gain a little bit of
24:59 interest in
25:00 my channel and what i do and doing the
25:02 travel videos and they were pretty
25:03 fascinated and kind of scrolled through
25:06 all the videos so
25:07 if they are watching this want to say

25:12 and gracious and and understanding of
25:14 what i was doing
25:15 and they said that there i was the first
25:17 one they've ever seen kind of pacing

25:19 an airport filming out their windows so

25:25 honestly i'm kind of wondering why more
25:27 airplanes airports don't ask me
25:30 like what i'm doing as i'm walking
25:31 around filming out the windows but they
25:33 were cool with it so

25:42 little nervous at first but then i
25:43 figured it'd all be okay and it was
25:46 all right still waiting for it this
25:47 isn't my plan but just just want to tell
25:49 that story and i did let them know that
25:51 i would not put them in the video so
25:53 just kind of gonna stick by that just no
25:55 reason that no reason to to show them
25:57 but yeah it was pretty pretty
