0:02 Today's adventure
0:03 begins as the recording of this
0:06 Monday, April
0:08 14th, 2025. What the heck is
0:13 this? Welcome everyone out of the Woo
0:16 here. There is I thought that was a
0:18 self-driving Zamboni, but in fact, it's
0:21 not. It's a
0:24 vendor. Got 23 seconds to cross this
0:27 road.
0:33 be going to an underground
0:33 mall and just see what else there is in
0:36 this general vicinity of
0:39 Seoul, South
0:41 Korea. Got my trusty
0:44 umbrella. That is a unique building over
0:46 there. Look at that
0:47 thing. Look at
0:50 that. I'm inviting
0:52 you on a rainy day, rainy, cool, and
0:55 crisp day. Let's get inside.
1:01 and I'm inviting you to join me. It's
1:01 good to have you
1:03 here, shall you? You know, watching Mary
1:06 Poppins so many times throughout my
1:08 youth and in my
1:10 adulthood. Oh, it makes me sad, but
1:12 you're not allowed to fe feed the birds.
1:15 Most cities, you're not you're not
1:16 supposed to feed the birds. Mary Poppins
1:18 would not be not be proud. I am looking
1:20 for the Starfield Coax Mall, which I
1:23 believe is right behind me. Here's a
1:28 Very classic architect, Korean
1:30 architecture here. Love
1:42 it. Before going into that underground
1:42 mall, I'm going to check this
1:44 out. Lombini
2:11 This is
2:20 amazing. Really enjoying my time here so
2:20 far. Really don't have a major game
2:22 plan.
2:25 Each day I kind of just wake up or the
2:27 night
2:28 before come up with an
2:32 idea. But there is no shortage of things
2:34 to see here. That is for certain. This
2:38 reminds me of the
2:39 place yesterday on the tour. Different
2:42 location, but has the beautiful lanterns
2:45 there.
2:51 And as explained yesterday by the guide,
2:51 the lanterns and the festivities
2:53 are for Buddha's
2:56 birthday. I think I remember that
3:15 correctly. Love these these style of
3:15 buildings.
3:16 Big building across the
3:19 way. Believe that is the entrance to the
3:21 underground mall right over there.
3:24 Huge complex it
3:30 appears. In fact, it might not even be
3:30 underground. Maybe it's above ground.
3:31 Either way, it's a huge mall. Check it
3:34 out. Go X Northgate. The layout of the
3:41 land. Quite a few things in here.
3:41 Department store. the Starfield Mall
3:47 15. Okay, you are here. I'm assuming I
3:50 can walk in this building and get over
3:52 into the mall
3:53 area. Also, the Starfield Library, which
3:57 I want to check out. And there's an
3:59 aquarium in here in the first basement
4:02 level. There's also a aquarium in the
4:05 Mall of
4:06 America in Minnesota. Okay, I kind of
4:09 wondered if I was in the right place.
4:11 That answers the question.
4:14 Starfield Coax
4:27 Mall. Going down, down, down. Love the
4:27 vending machines here. Take a look at
4:28 the
4:29 Coca-Cas. They're like long, slender
4:33 bottles of Coca-Cola. Original taste.
4:36 Also known as Coke Classic. This must be
4:39 like a cold coffee there. see a lot of
4:42 vending machines here in
4:45 Korea. And there's the entrance to the
4:47 mall. They are working on building a new
4:50 aquarium
4:52 experience. Evidently owned by the Sea
4:55 Life Corporation. This franchise is
4:58 everywhere. There's Sea Life in Orlando
5:01 also at the Icon
5:09 Park, but they're expanding. capsule
5:09 pang. Just a bunch of vending
5:13 machines. Yeah,
5:15 look. It's just rows of vending
5:19 machines. Pressed butter
5:22 sandwich. Oh, it's a key ring, but it's
5:24 supposed to look like a
5:26 sandwich. See a lot of these as
5:29 well. You get all these little
5:32 figurines.
5:38 Oh, you could even get a little fake
5:38 toad.
5:49 turtle. These are really good size
5:49 little
6:02 characters. It's a pretty expansive
6:02 place, at least on this level. Oh,
6:05 evidently there's multiple floors. 1 F.
6:09 All right, there's 1
6:10 F,
6:12 B1F, and
6:19 B2F. Looks like the most expansive of
6:19 all of them is B1F, which I think is the
6:21 level I'm on. It's 11:36 a.m. right
6:25 now. Here at the Case Gallery is a
6:28 really large Minnie
6:30 Mouse stuffed plush.
6:33 huge Minnie Mouse. I mean, this is a
6:36 cell phone case right there. So, that
6:39 gives us comparison
6:42 here. There's even a little road mark
6:45 down here to know where to walk. Getting
6:47 a fruit smoothie here from Jamba Juice.
6:49 Had one the other day. I feel like
6:50 getting another. Getting a strawberry
6:51 one today. All right. I just took a sip.
6:53 Pretty dang tasty. Real strawberry
6:55 blended here. So nice. Is there anybody
6:59 standing on the the edge here? It's a
7:02 little seating area people are sitting
7:03 at. And then you have a little stage
7:04 down there, little performance stage in
7:06 here. Turns out, not only are these
7:08 little pathways, so nowhere to walk, but
7:11 they're also cushiony. So you have the
7:13 hard floor here, and you got the
7:16 cushioned
7:17 floor
7:19 there. And I guess for mall walkers,
7:21 they have the they have distance
7:27 here. All right. There is a library in
7:27 here. And when I say library, I mean a
7:30 next level freaking library. What the
7:34 heck is this
7:36 reality? I mean, I guess it's a
7:39 bookstore where they call it a library.
7:41 Has a massive Starbucks inside of
7:44 it. Roof is just not open air, but you
7:49 can see up through
7:51 it. Look at all these freaking books up
7:53 here. How do they even reach the top?
8:14 I don't think I've ever seen anything
8:14 quite like this before in all honesty.
8:28 You see, it is in fact a real library.
8:50 Everyone's taking photos. Everyone.
9:05 Definitely cannot never got to run out
9:05 of books in here to read.
9:28 All right. Right across from the library
9:28 is a Panam store. Got to be honest, I
9:31 don't know if I've ever seen a Panama
9:33 store. I've seen some stuff kind of
9:36 floating around online for some of the
9:37 retro panam merch, but they're an actual
9:40 store in the mall that sells all the
9:42 vintage stuff. Panam. I don't even know
9:45 if that's even an airline anymore. I
9:46 don't think it is. The butter shop. I
9:49 see a really large kitty over there.
9:53 Butter general shop. butter
9:56 shop. Supposed to be the mascots there.
9:59 Wow. Milk Cat
10:01 School. Stop in here and see what this
10:03 is all about. The store is absolutely
10:06 super cute. I mean, I just noticed how
10:08 many different mascots and how many
10:10 different, you know, animal figures that
10:13 the all these different companies
10:14 utilize over here. So, like everywhere
10:16 you go, there's like a mascot and this
10:17 place is no exception. Butter family of
10:21 the store butter milk cat school.
10:23 There's just every kind of cute little
10:25 accessory that you could ever think of
10:28 in the form of cats is in here. It's
10:30 like cat cat overload heaven. Stuffed
10:33 cat overload. Plushy cat overload heaven
10:38 here at the Milk Cat School. Butter is
10:40 the name, but I've never heard of the
10:41 company before. I saw one of these on a
10:43 tour the other day. We were driving
10:44 around and I looked out the window and I
10:46 saw saw a store. Maybe when I was
10:48 walking down one of the shopping
10:49 districts. But this is the first time
10:52 I've been in one of these stores to see
10:53 what it really even
10:55 is. Very, very cute. Look at these two
10:58 cats right here holding a number two
10:59 pencil. Milk Cat School for the Butter
11:02 Family. Adorable. All right, back out
11:05 onto Well, not street level yet, but
11:08 trying to open my umbrella up. Here we
11:14 go. Go back outside. Do a little
11:14 exploring out here. My jacket zipped up,
11:18 my beanie on now. Temperature's dropped
11:20 a little
11:38 bit. Interesting design over there for
11:38 the roof of a building.
11:42 Almost looks like one of those like ball
11:45 play areas like an old Mickey D's or
11:48 something. It's almost just the
11:51 roof. Just it's just the art design of
11:54 the the top of the building. Notice over
11:56 here is another one of those smoking
11:58 boxes. There's no one in there at the
12:00 moment, but there's all these little no
12:02 smoking areas. I've also noticed that
12:04 people don't use the no smoking boxes.
12:07 You'll see sometimes in an alley
12:08 somewhere there'll be 5, 10, 12, 15
12:11 people all smoking in an alley, but they
12:13 can't smoke in these areas that are
12:15 designated no smoking areas. And most of
12:18 the places around town in fact are no
12:21 smoking areas. And then they have these
12:22 boxes, but right now no one's utilizing
12:25 the smoking
12:35 box. Kind of a nice vibe walking around
12:35 here on the right. It is not anywhere
12:37 near as cold as it was yesterday.
12:39 Yesterday was wild. Like snow came out
12:42 of
12:43 nowhere. In fact, it's relatively I
12:46 don't want to say warm, but warmer than
12:49 it was yesterday. Okay, this is amazing.
12:54 the hand formation, the hand gesture
12:57 from Gundam Style, the smash hit from
13:00 many years
13:01 ago. And people are lined up. An
13:05 incredible amount of people are lined up
13:07 to do the dance, take the photos in
13:11 front of the gun
13:18 style hand
13:18 pose. Incredible.
13:21 This
13:23 area I guess is where it originated
13:26 where the artist was from perhaps or
13:28 named after this particular area of
13:31 Soul, South Korea.
14:01 Glad every glad moment. Photo
14:01 bling. You go in there, take a You take
14:03 a selfie in there. You take a photo in
14:05 there. It's a photo booth, but it's a VW
14:08 bus right here along the side of the
15:07 there. There's the fire trucks.
15:07 Well, one's a fire
15:09 truck. The other one looks like a bus of
15:11 some sort.
15:44 to see them in
15:48 operation. There's two fields over here.
15:51 Baseball and football or two baseball
15:52 fields. I'm going to walk over there.
15:54 Check it out. Only the LG Twins and the
15:57 Ducson Bears, I'm assuming.
16:11 Wonder where the next game
16:11 is. All right, here's a layout of the
16:14 land. Evidently, these were built for
16:18 the Olympics back in 1988. Right there,
16:21 sold
16:22 1988, this complex. And they're still
16:26 continuing to use it. Baseball stadium
16:28 is one I was just showing, but there's
16:30 also Olympic stadium up
16:32 here. Then you got gymnasium, swimming
16:35 pool, student
16:37 gymnasium, and I even see the five
16:41 circles from the Olympics up here on the
16:42 side of the Olympic Stadium. That's
16:44 pretty
17:03 Feel like the temperature might be
17:03 dropping a little bit. It's known as
17:06 Star
17:08 Street. Does not appear as if there's a
17:10 game. It's interesting how the team bus
17:12 is just sitting over there. It's also
17:14 interesting you can just walk the
17:15 perimeter of the stadium like right up
17:17 to the stadium.
17:25 was actually watching some Korean
17:25 baseball on TV the other
17:27 night and it was pouring rain. No rain
17:31 delays. They don't pull a tarp out over
17:33 the field. No one leaves. Crowd was
17:37 going
17:43 wild. I'd like to go to a game. I don't
17:43 know if it's going to work
17:45 out. Maybe though.
17:48 Maybe. Have a leaf blower.
17:52 This is really a cool walk through
18:16 now. Evidently, I'm a couple miles from
18:16 Olympic Park, so maybe I'll grab a an
18:19 Uber.
18:25 and head over to Olympic Park since I'm
18:25 kind of on doing some Olympic stuff. Go
18:27 over and check that out. Same vicinity,
18:30 but it's a couple miles that way. All
18:32 right, Uber taxi ordered. You can order
18:35 taxis through the Uber
18:41 app. Get out of the elements for a
18:41 little bit because hands are a little
18:42 cold. I feel like the temperature is
18:44 dropping. So, be nice to be in the car
18:46 for a little while.
19:06 All right, he's off the Uber
19:06 taxi and the
19:08 bus. Olympic Park right over there.
19:12 There's another taxi. They're
19:13 everywhere. I've arrived at Olympic
19:16 Park. Soul Olympic Park 1988. You got
19:19 the first, second, third
19:22 place. This tiger got second place. Hold
19:24 up to number
19:26 two. This cute little p is a panda or a
19:30 I don't know what this is. The number
19:32 three. First place would be right there,
19:33 but probably pretty slick if you stood
19:35 up on there. And this very impressive I
19:40 don't want to call it an archway, but
19:42 very impressive piece.
20:20 Nightcape. It's
20:20 fantastic. Wow, it's cloudy out. These
20:25 birds. It just swooped down. This is
20:28 looking the opposite way. Take a look at
20:31 the huge tower there. Just engulfed in
20:34 clouds.
20:39 Is this supposed to be the flame that's
20:39 always
20:54 on? All right, I just translated on this
20:54 app. The door we cut off the
20:58 torch. Gas of pe gas of peace due to
21:02 natural disasters. Please excuse me.
21:06 Okay. So, they had to take they had to
21:08 turn the torch
21:14 off. That was certainly the thing I was
21:14 most excited about seeing is the flame
21:17 that's always burning from the Olympics
21:19 continually. But evidently there was an
21:38 courtyard. All right, looking at it back
21:38 the other way from here now. That is
21:40 awesome. Look at that. That is
22:14 This is also a very unique sculpture
22:14 here.
23:47 An interesting tree there that's split
23:47 down the
23:48 middle being held up by these
24:01 this I wasn't expecting all these
24:01 sculptures through here. There's bunches
24:02 of them.
24:05 See what this
24:07 signifies. This is made in
24:11 85. So that would have been three years
24:13 before the Olympics were
24:19 here. In this sculpture, mother carrying
24:19 child in the back represents South
24:21 America, mysterious and fanciful region
24:23 of the world.
24:53 This one was made in 88. Supposed to
24:53 represent a discus
25:07 thrower. There's benches here. And
25:07 there's a little
25:09 iron covering and there's tree roots or
25:11 trees that have rooted itself from the
25:14 top portion around the iron portion
25:17 there at the
25:20 end. This chain that's mounted to the
25:23 rock, it's called Dog's Own World. The
25:26 artist named it
25:27 that it represents this dog who's in his
25:30 own world, king of the castle, if you
25:33 will, on his steps.
25:50 does not look very happy. So, probably
25:50 created in
25:51 a not in a positive aspect with the
25:57 chain. I mean, obviously, all art is up
26:00 for interpretation. I mentioned it a
26:02 little bit ago that yesterday was a lot
26:04 colder than it is today. I'll take that
26:06 back. The temperature has
26:08 dropped and the fact that I'm the longer
26:11 I'm out in the elements, it's definitely
26:13 starting to sink into the
26:16 bones. There's an interesting piece of
26:18 art, too, as well. It's
26:19 like I don't know what that's supposed
26:21 to be over there. It's big, though.
26:53 Interesting. There's like a wheel of
26:53 some sort. Wheel of
26:59 doors. This is
26:59 created in 88 as well called
27:03 impersonation
27:11 station. Every
27:11 event is I I am to stress whatever I
27:13 think about that
27:15 history has not been true since a
27:17 certain point in time. If not
27:19 recognized, human beings may disappear
27:21 from the
27:32 earth. Oh, it's got a clock on this end.
27:32 Look at that. It's a clock on that
27:35 end, wheel on the other end.
27:37 Interesting. That is a big thumb. That's
27:40 what it's called. It's called the thumb.
27:43 Another very unique looking building
27:45 over here. This looks to be No, that's
27:48 something that was used for the Olympics
27:50 also. It's like a shopping center,
27:57 but it's across the road. All made out
27:57 of glass. Huge glass windows on that
28:01 building. There might be quite a few
28:03 food options over here. We can go get a
28:06 bowl of soup or something similar,
28:09 something warm. Well, assuming
28:11 that something's open over here.
28:15 flower shops
28:24 open. It actually looks like it go you
28:24 go inside. That's why it doesn't look
28:25 like it's going on outside because you
28:28 go in through these doors and you go
28:29 into the indoor section of the glass
28:31 mall. That makes sense. Yeah. See, it's
28:34 all like a little
28:36 indoor indoor mall over here. Pretty
28:39 neat. All right. Didn't see anything
28:40 inside that caught my attention. So, I
28:44 think I'm going to head back over to the
28:46 area that my hotel's in. See what I can
28:47 find
28:49 food-wise. All right, there goes my Uber
28:51 taxi. Just dropped back
28:54 off. Try some find some food over in
28:57 this
28:58 neighborhood. See what this is over
29:01 here since 1982.
29:16 Soup
29:16 stew. Must try. Wonder how that
29:31 is. All right. This looks pretty good.
29:31 Oh, break break time.
29:34 Okay. They're not open. They're taking a
29:36 break. All right. This place, I think,
29:39 is open. I'll check this place
29:46 out. Open. Give it a
29:46 try. So, I didn't really know what to
29:49 order. I was kind of going through,
29:50 browsing through the menu.
29:59 definitely didn't really understand uh
29:59 the type of food it was, but the worker,
30:04 the lady who worked in there was very
30:06 very kind and she said, "Well, what you
30:08 what you're picking out is going to be
30:09 extremely
30:11 spicy." I said, "Let's do
30:13 it." Called the Royal
30:16 Traditional Yagayak Jang. Yagayak Jang.
30:21 Could be pronouncing that wrong.
30:22 Probably am. I must say it was probably
30:26 the spiciest soup I've ever had. I don't
30:29 know if it's spiciest food, but
30:32 thankfully I had some rice. I didn't
30:34 dump the rice in the bowl like I did
30:36 yesterday when I was on the tour. I had
30:38 a different item. I had rice. I just
30:39 kind of dumped it in the soup because
30:41 the rice acted almost as like a chaser
30:44 for the heat. So, I would be get a
30:46 little spiced up with the soup. It was a
30:49 It was like a beef stew of sorts. And
30:52 then I would chase it with the rice. And
30:54 then I provide a little
30:56 tea. So I had I had the
31:10 traditional
31:10 yuck. Yuck.
31:15 Gaj. I would eat there again.
31:18 I thought, you know, when I order this,
31:19 I might only eat like a couple bites and
31:21 just uh not not be into it. But it was
31:24 good. It was
31:26 good. And my sinuses are open. My mouth
31:30 is
31:31 burning. My taste buds are ignited. I
31:35 think I'm going to go over here to the
31:36 nice to see store, get some get
31:39 something to drink.
31:47 Maybe get a snack and then call it call
31:47 call it a an
31:49 evening. It was a full day. Full rainy
31:51 wet cold day. Full rainy wet cold day.
31:55 Yeah. Nice to see you stores. These are
31:57 very very popular around
31:59 here. Nice to see you stores.
32:04 kind of remind me of
32:07 bugles. Kind of bugle-esque. I got some
32:10 of these yesterday. Not the bugles, but
32:12 I got some of these the other day. They
32:13 were pretty good. So, getting us some
32:15 more. They're pretty
32:23 tasty. And that's going to do it for
32:23 today. A full rainy day in Soul, South
32:27 Korea. South Korea. Cold, rainy, wet.
32:31 Really hop in the next day or two or
32:33 more than that warms up just a little
32:36 bit and it stops raining. But it's not
32:38 unbearable, but it would be pleasant if
32:40 it wasn't as chilly and rainy. See you
32:43 in the next video. Vlog is
