0:02 today's adventure begins as a recording
0:03 of this Saturday June 10th 2023 here at
0:06 the hearts coffee shop open 24 hours you
0:09 know you're in Southern California when
0:11 you see palm trees however you Hearts
0:13 coffee shop which looks like an amazing
0:15 structure the pigeon up on top of it is
0:19 opening soon is under construction
0:22 but a very unique looking building I am
0:24 in the valley
0:26 about to get some coffee
0:33 and do some Valley things now right next
0:33 to that coffee shop is another place to
0:34 get a nice piping hot caffeinated
0:36 beverage but think about the valley once
0:39 you're in the valley you kind of know
0:41 you're in the valley also open 24 hours
0:44 Yummy Donuts right here on the corner of
0:47 Balboa
0:50 take a look at this they do have Yummy
0:53 Donuts Galore in here and
0:56 plenty of coffee also a piping hot
0:59 non-caffeinated Bagel yeah
1:03 Daphne is here as well
1:06 and I also got a little caffeine to
1:09 start the day
1:16 a wild car welcome everyone Adam the
1:16 move here again the Daphne show
1:18 also here
1:20 we're in the valley
1:21 like deep in the valley
1:23 we are going to the valley relics Museum
1:26 which I have never been to have you ever
1:27 been there no I'm so excited oh my gosh
1:29 I believe
1:38 the vacation that it moved but I have
1:38 never been to either spot yeah I've
1:40 never been to it
1:42 but I lived in Hollywood I never
1:43 ventured up to check out the museum so
1:45 now it's gonna happen every time I think
1:47 of Hollywood in the valley I think a
1:48 valley girl yeah there were four men and
1:51 Nicholas Cage
1:52 and back then anyone from Hollywood
1:54 didn't want to go to the Valley and the
1:56 valley couldn't associate with the
1:58 hollywoodians is it still like that
2:00 sounds like it's
2:05 us we're gonna do Valley things inviting
2:07 you to join me and the Daphne shop I'll
2:10 tell you
2:12 definitely like just the vibe
2:15 of this area look at this artwork over
2:17 here this retro kind of art race but
2:19 this painting's probably been here for
2:20 decades
2:21 of the Ooze coming out the side of that
2:25 automobile Center car there on the mural
2:27 and the hours for this place
2:30 are only on the weekends they're only
2:32 open on Saturday and Sunday from either
2:34 10 or 11 A.M until three in the
2:37 afternoon so definitely check for the
2:40 hours for making the commute over here
2:42 not open on the weekdays as far as I
2:44 know only on the weekends and
2:47 the museum is right over there next to
2:50 that VW bus
2:51 tucked away in this little area next to
2:54 the
2:54 it's the Van Nuys airport it's a Van
2:57 Nuys airport right yeah I think that
2:59 that's what that stands for there it is
3:01 yeah Van Nuys
3:03 the airport you can even hear the
3:04 airplanes
3:06 next to the museum got a couple of
3:08 classic cars classic car here in the
3:10 front
3:12 I believe this one
3:18 pills on it that's so crazy yeah
3:18 so this belongs to the custom plate here
3:21 so you got nudie who was the guy that
3:25 created a lot of the very interesting
3:26 outfits a lot of the Stars wore back in
3:30 the Valley North Hollywood Burbank
3:32 Hollywood proper back in the day and I
3:35 believe we're going to see a lot of his
3:36 items inside there as well
3:43 you got the cow horns on the front kind
3:43 of like Boss Hog from Dukes of Hazzard
3:45 hat
3:46 and from a distance I thought is this
3:48 the Fast Times fan if this is the actual
3:49 screen use Fast Times van oh blow my
3:52 mind
3:53 yeah it says Fast Times across the back
4:04 they got the Damon and crew there
4:04 there's gonna be a lot of history in
4:05 here
4:06 take a look at this
4:08 is the old Sportsman's Lodge sign
4:11 but I had to go back and take a look at
4:13 this I mean
4:15 this is quite the automobile here
4:18 even the upholstery is very unique even
4:21 design on the steering wheel and
4:23 everything
4:24 okay got a demon signature right there
4:27 could this have been Spicoli Sean pins
4:30 screen use van find out more info when I
4:33 go and talk to the oh you can scan it
4:35 for more information all right scan the
4:37 info it just took me to a VW info site
4:41 I'm just gonna go in and ask
4:43 not sure what this pillar is either but
4:45 everything here has quite the history
4:48 now the actual address is Right Here
4:50 Charlie four the park
4:52 790 Balboa Boulevard
4:55 going in all right have stepped in as
4:58 fifteen dollars per person and in fact I
5:01 asked and that is the screen used van
5:04 from that's Macaulay drove in Fast Times
5:07 at Ridgemont High that is absolutely
5:09 insane to think about they have a lot of
5:12 vintage stuff here's an old 80s vintage
5:15 Walt Disney Mickey Mouse drawstring bag
5:17 up here and here's a Los Angeles Times
5:22 hat original vintage tea and they just
5:25 even have some vintage stuff and I think
5:27 maybe some of these are even Recreations
5:28 of some of the spots around here like
5:30 pop and taco and things like that
5:32 licorice pizza and they definitely have
5:34 Valley Girl represented through here too
5:37 also Valley Vibes that is that is the
5:39 actual door from The Brady Bunch donated
5:43 by actress Eve Plum herself who played
5:46 Jan Brady on the hit series right there
5:48 check it out everything says Eve Plum
5:50 got some Johnny Crawford stuff right
5:51 here who began as a child actor from the
5:55 original Mouseketeers back in 1955 right
5:58 here in fact there's his Mouseketeer hat
6:00 it's so funny because we always quote
6:02 The Brady Bunch movie The Clowns never
6:04 laugh before beanstalks never grew
6:08 oh my gosh this is so cool can I Dream
6:10 of Genie bottle so I guess that is a
6:11 screen use I Dream of Jeannie botter
6:13 right there there's a signed photo of
6:15 Barbara Eden right there too one thing I
6:16 wish I could kind of well obviously I
6:18 went back in time I want to do a lot of
6:19 different things but it'd be cool if I
6:21 if time travel was a real thing to go
6:23 back to some of the classic TV shows and
6:25 watch some of those episodes film in
6:26 front of the live studio audience all
6:28 right this is really awesome Spencer
6:29 Tracy's hat and shoes from it's a bad
6:31 bad bad world not hidden under a Big W
6:33 oh I love peewee's big adventure this is
6:35 James Brolin's suit from Pee-wee's Big
6:37 Adventure as well when he was playing
6:39 Peewee at the end of the you know the
6:41 end of the film when they're watching
6:42 the movie Phil Hartman was there when
6:44 did you become blood brothers that whole
6:46 scene this was on this this was on there
6:48 James Brolin was playing Peewee got a
6:50 few items for some of the movie ranches
6:52 around here we got corriganville over
6:54 here and this is technically Orange
6:56 County but there is a Knott's Berry Farm
6:59 uh Banner here as well and around this
7:01 area a lot of westerns were filmed check
7:03 out James R nesses from Gunsmoke he had
7:06 his they have his actual chair in here
7:08 and some of the outfits of Frankie yeah
7:12 that was from abin Costello meets
7:14 Frankenstein and then over here take a
7:16 look there's a lot of Universal Studios
7:18 monster stuff as well up here this old
7:21 signage here Circa 1960s note the
7:24 generic features on the monsters this
7:26 sign was made during a copyright dispute
7:28 when all images were made so generic to
7:30 not have any sort of infringement that's
7:33 pretty interesting got Dracula right
7:35 there in the middle he just look at a
7:37 lot of the old neon this kind of
7:39 scattered oh there's an old Iverson's
7:41 Movie Ranch slate right there too
7:43 Hollywood stunt man walk or a Hall of
7:46 Fame I've never think I've ever seen
7:49 that map before a bird's eye view that's
7:52 a phrase I use a lot a bird's eye view
7:54 of Universal City interesting too it's
7:57 Universal City Studios
7:59 they kind of like shortened it just a
8:01 little bit it's also interesting to see
8:03 how things have completely moved around
8:06 at Universal back then even the Bates
8:09 Motel psycho house is in a totally
8:10 different spot for example back here on
8:13 this map it was over in let's see Falls
8:16 Lake with seven which is where the house
8:18 is now but back then the house was down
8:21 over in this area number 22 Norman Bates
8:24 and his mother would have lived right
8:26 there there's an image of back when
8:28 Manson was there at spawn ranch or what
8:30 spawn Ranch looked like
8:32 lot of movie history out here including
8:34 here is a Dale Evans outfit the queen of
8:38 the West and this one over here some
8:40 info on corriganville so corrigoville I
8:43 did a video out there years and years
8:44 ago is where creature of the Black
8:46 Lagoon the water scenes were done in the
8:48 outdoor Lake there and looks as if they
8:50 have pieces of the Roy Rogers and Dale
8:52 Evans Museum that used to be in
8:54 Victorville California it might even
8:55 still be for all I know but they've
8:57 removed they've moved some of the stuff
8:58 over here to Valley relics in fact that
9:02 big horse right there you got the the
9:05 bow Neon
9:07 there's a lot of neon in here even
9:09 though it's during the day a lot of it
9:10 is
9:11 completely illuminated this place is a
9:13 lot bigger than I expected
9:20 dollars so worth it did you think it was
9:20 going to be this big
9:23 like that far in yeah we walk like 10
9:25 feet
9:37 wow I missed that okay I'm looking over
9:37 in this area and I'm wondering if that
9:38 is a George Barris custom I think it's
9:40 George Barris I don't see aside from me
9:42 that's a sign obviously but I don't see
9:43 an information placard but I would guess
9:45 it's probably George Barris and this
9:47 right here is from Porter Ranch this is
9:48 one of the big Porter Ranch horses and
9:50 here's speaking of bird's eye this this
9:53 is the size of the valley the valley is
9:56 like massive also if you're playing a
9:57 drinking game every time I say Valley
9:58 it's probably not going to end well for
10:00 you so don't do that so here's Warner
10:02 here Disney Studios Universal so this is
10:05 more of the valley I am familiar with
10:07 the kind of the area I usually stay in
10:09 but it stretches all the way the heck
10:12 all the way
10:14 deep into the valley over here I didn't
10:17 realize
10:18 the Hanson Dam it kind of makes me
10:21 wonder too like people who live in
10:23 Chatsworth like over by Spa like they're
10:25 in Canoga Park or Northridge I wonder if
10:27 they look at the you know people that
10:29 say they're in the valley over in
10:30 Burbank and West Hollywood and Glendale
10:32 thing that's not the valley we're in the
10:35 deep valley maybe I don't know if
10:37 they're I don't know if it's like a
10:38 rivalry or not an old van nice Boulevard
10:40 sign right there again there's oh my
10:43 gosh I'm seeing a room full of neon over
10:45 there those are the kind of motorcycle
10:46 that I remember from chips California
10:48 Highway Patrol I never knew what the eye
10:51 stood for in ships California Highway
10:53 Patrol is where you get the CH and the P
10:56 they never really got the whole eye
10:58 maybe that was like I don't know maybe
10:59 that was just like add it in there but
11:01 Chip's classic television show that's
11:04 what this kind of reminds me I don't see
11:05 a placard saying this is screen used
11:07 from ships but it could possibly be
11:10 how's it going
11:16 oh my God what the heck look at this
11:16 room
11:17 okay there's a Pioneer Chicken sign
11:20 there is one of the big stand-ups for
11:22 the for the uh when they're the road
11:25 control
11:27 this is absolutely wild this room I see
11:31 the top of a muffler man's head over
11:34 there got an A W root beer up here a Bel
11:37 Air a Henry's Tacos Johnny Rockets of
11:40 course Lankershim over here as well or
11:44 uh oh here's one of the rodeo Taylor
11:46 newbie signs right there as well these
11:48 are some of the outfits that he would
11:49 create he had a very distinct style
11:51 there was a place called the Palomino
11:53 they actually had their own jackets it
11:56 was in North Hollywood and these are
11:58 some of the swinging doors from that
12:01 place it was located on Lankershim and I
12:04 have a couple of the doors that were
12:05 from that that spot okay oh yeah so
12:08 we're looking at some of the ashtray
12:09 where's the one from Smokehouse there it
12:11 is we've eaten there a bunch of times
12:13 and then do pars is there any of the
12:15 bars left are they all closed now right
12:17 the only departs left is the one at The
12:19 Grove
12:26 yeah Boogie Nights valley girl we ate we
12:26 got to eat there a couple times before
12:27 it closed which is nice and it closed
12:28 without any warning yeah they just
12:30 closed it it was just like we're now
12:33 closed oh there's shakies over there the
12:35 SoCal legendary SoCal Pizza Joint
12:40 Mojo potato so I'm looking over here it
12:42 looks like this these gloves were Side
12:44 by Evander Holyfield right down there
12:47 that's
12:49 pretty awesome this hat was a gift a
12:51 heavyweight boxer James Jeffries as well
12:54 look at this boxing uh sparring
12:58 helmet so according to this little
12:59 information paper this is the counter at
13:02 the very first licorice pizza the mother
13:05 counter so to speak you can still see
13:08 some of the artwork that is across there
13:10 there's The Fab Four The Beetles on
13:12 there as well here's one of the signs
13:14 also and some of the t-shirts and
13:17 merchandise to be honest I'm not really
13:19 too familiar with licorice pizza but all
13:21 right reading a little more it was a
13:22 music store it was a record store and
13:25 you can see right over there is a photo
13:26 like a blown up version of this photo
13:29 here so it says discount records and
13:31 tapes with one of the the signage there
13:34 too record record Town vinyls and types
13:37 as well back when stereo LPs were 298
13:41 each or if you wanted an eight-track
13:43 cassette tape 4.99 which seems a little
13:45 kind of pricey but yeah 4.99 that's how
13:48 popular they were getting a lot of good
13:50 monster stuff over here though it came
13:52 from outer space tarantula we got the
13:55 creature up top here as well here is a
13:57 foot from Jack Kevon Creature from the
14:01 Black Lagoon Albert Costello Meet
14:02 Frankenstein who's an alien head in the
14:05 movie Tarantula I believe this is one of
14:07 the heads from tarantula Universal would
14:10 reuse different molds and repaint them
14:13 for different monsters oh that's from
14:15 the mole people 1956 a lot of really
14:18 good scream used stuff I can't tell what
14:21 film that is from but this head was used
14:24 in that frame right there possibly this
14:27 monster movie here actual Sirens from
14:30 squad car Adam 12.
14:33 possibly the suit here L.A police and
14:36 there's like a row of TVs that aren't on
14:38 I love that Mary BMX mess down there so
14:41 a lot of BMXing happening around these
14:44 parts
14:45 we still have modern day and back in the
14:46 day it was an old Mongoose The Bicycle
14:48 Built to fly now this car is completely
14:51 cut in half right here so that you can
14:54 see the front part but then around the
14:56 back it is sliced completely in half
15:00 kind of kicking myself I'm pretty bummed
15:02 that it took me so long to actually
15:03 visit this place because this place has
15:05 my name written all over just right up
15:07 my alley so to speak with a lot of the
15:10 items that are in here and I definitely
15:11 will be visiting this place again now it
15:13 does not say what restaurant it's from
15:15 but here are a couple of Marilyn
15:16 Monroe's restaurant tabs signed Marilyn
15:19 Monroe on them Lucille Ball wore these
15:22 gloves right here in the flusher brush
15:24 Fuller brush girl in 1950. there was a
15:28 guy just pointing out so I don't know a
15:29 lot about BMX bikes but he was said that
15:31 he's never seen anything quite like this
15:33 with a rear shock there in the middle
15:36 portion also I'm noticing this bike
15:38 actually has E.T the Extraterrestrial
15:40 there I'm wondering if this is the same
15:42 kind of design that they wrote in E.T
15:44 when they're trying to
15:45 there is us what was it 8430 Sunset
15:49 Strip
15:50 Sunset Strip sign right there
15:52 very interesting but that would be
15:54 considered I guess that would be more
15:55 like West Hollywood
15:57 you got a lot of the local radio
15:58 stations out here
16:00 as well got an old boom box down here as
16:03 well even look at this this is like a an
16:06 eight-track like a multiple eight-track
16:08 player perhaps with the eight tracks on
16:10 top of it
16:11 okay I might be correct with Italia to
16:13 E2 so you got a lot of the BMX stuff
16:15 through here but then you look up top
16:17 and there are some photos of them
16:19 filming the ET bmxc which I believe is
16:22 only a few miles from here where they
16:25 were riding the bikes in E.T and the
16:27 chase scene right there and depending on
16:29 which version you had sometimes they had
16:31 walkie-talkies and sometimes they have
16:33 weapons
16:35 kind of weird how they cgi'd in
16:37 walkie-talkies getting a lot of the old
16:39 metal lunch boxes a lot of stuff was
16:41 filmed out here like Hogan's Heroes fly
16:43 none get smart of course Adam 12
16:47 monsters well got a block there with the
16:50 neon even the Fall Guy right here Lee
16:53 Majors within two hit shows I saw my
16:55 personal favorites the Dukes of Hazard
16:57 Knight Rider one of my favorite lines
16:59 from the fall also Lee Majors sang The
17:01 Fall Guy theme song one of my favorite
17:03 lines is I never spent much time in
17:05 school but I taught ladies plenty you go
17:09 Lee Majors possible radios jukeboxes TVs
17:13 musical listening devices and quite a
17:17 bit of stuff did take place in this area
17:18 one of the most famous locations is the
17:21 Bad News Bears and they have some of the
17:23 Bad News Bears items down here use in
17:26 the film itself it was this kind of this
17:28 rumor that El Jefe from NOFX the guitar
17:30 player was in the Bad News Bears but I
17:32 think they just said that just to kind
17:34 of like just to kind of like troll
17:36 everybody I don't think he was really in
17:37 the movie but that was kind of a rumor
17:39 back in the 90s before the internet
17:41 existed he could fact check stuff but I
17:43 don't think it'll happen from No Effects
17:45 was ever all right stepping into the
17:46 mecca of neon got the coffee shop up top
17:50 there that actually looks really
17:52 familiar I think that was the coffee
17:53 shop from license to drive perhaps or
17:55 maybe a big boy I'm just kind of like
17:58 really uh sensory overload walking in
18:02 here got the Sherman room you got that
18:04 Maryland a neon up top there you got
18:07 Mel's Drive-In and you got Tiffany's you
18:10 got Mustang again you got the Pioneer
18:12 Chicken I think there's only two of
18:13 those Pioneers left in the greater LA
18:15 area even the the museum itself has an
18:18 old neon old bowling side
18:21 Palomino over there they even have some
18:24 arcade games so there we go Bob's Big
18:26 Boy there Family Fun Arcade Valley shoe
18:29 repair Fosters freeze there's not many
18:32 of those left
18:33 either oh wait here's a here's the
18:37 oversized uh what do you what what's the
18:40 word for it but someone who like gets
18:42 rid of the bugs and insects and rodents
18:44 and things and then also this looks very
18:46 familiar too this guy holding the big
18:47 Amber as well as the original mascot pre
18:51 well Ronald McDonald was around the same
18:53 time too but Speedy with the golden
18:56 arches there and above this old sign are
18:58 the Animaniacs Warner Brothers Animaniac
19:01 who live in the water tower again here's
19:03 the head of one of the roadside Giants
19:05 known as the muffler man this is the
19:07 Noggin of the Muffler Man again I highly
19:09 recommend stopping off here if you're
19:12 into this kind of stuff this is just
19:14 this place is really really well done in
19:17 fact I have to be honest better than I
19:19 expected it would be I didn't know what
19:21 I was gonna expect
19:22 just exceeded my expectations oh there's
19:25 someone behind the wheel there with a
19:26 big beard
19:27 I didn't realize there was someone
19:28 driving that vehicle right there oh
19:30 there's the little rodent
19:32 I never knew that that this guy at the
19:35 base of this guy he's pointing he's like
19:37 doing the low like
19:40 okay this is one of the shirts that they
19:42 sell out front the Malibu Grand Prix
19:44 which is a very popular spot family spot
19:47 back in the day it's been closed but
19:49 they sell some of the recreation shirts
19:51 and they have one of the vehicles I mean
19:54 as far as a go-kart goes this is like
19:57 next level this
19:58 better than like a go-kart nowaday that
20:01 you would like you know ride a go-kart
20:03 this is like a full-on race car style
20:05 and all the arcade games are included
20:08 with admission you got Earth Shaker no
20:10 fear scared stiff Family Fun Arcade
20:12 included with the 15
20:15 admission and I think yeah 15 a person
20:18 really not not a bad price to come in
20:20 here and look at all this history right
20:22 over here is a pay phone booth that you
20:24 can go with and there is an old pay
20:27 phone right there let me see isn't there
20:30 another call what does that say isn't
20:32 there another call you should make now I
20:36 don't know is there there's a rather
20:37 large Bell up there do you see the
20:39 Maryland neon over there in the corner
20:41 yeah that is that is pretty I don't
20:44 think I've ever even knew they had a
20:45 Maryland neon like that in existence
20:48 obviously the famous photo in New York
20:50 which is above the the great all right
20:52 did this place this place exceed your
20:55 expectations just oh my gosh it's pretty
20:58 dang awesome I didn't expect it to be
20:59 this this this this massive as far as
21:02 all the history in here yeah no this is
21:04 so cool I'm like well there's so much to
21:06 take it yeah it's amazing and you can
21:08 spend a lot of time in here we kind of
21:09 just went through it a quick Pace we've
21:10 only really been here like maybe even an
21:12 hour I feel like I haven't really like
21:14 studied everything in here
21:16 and I feel like you could probably come
21:18 back I think things were probably
21:19 constantly be added here over talking on
21:23 a new exhibit thing over there we're
21:24 stepping into another room we got a
21:26 Ronald suit here with the clown will
21:29 always have a friend wearing big red
21:31 shoes
21:32 Ronald McDonald the happiest hamburger
21:36 clown what is this pie oh pie it's a
21:39 Pioneer Chicken suit Brittany G has the
21:42 Pioneer Chicken suit on that is awesome
21:45 talking about Pioneer Chicken and of
21:48 course big boy and Burbank I go to boss
21:50 big boy every time I am in L.A or in
21:53 Hollywood or in the valley or even
21:56 Orange County I'll make the commute up
21:57 to Bob's Big Boy oh is this Jack in the
21:59 Box
21:59 Jack in the Box maybe one of the
22:01 creepiest mascots for fast food I think
22:04 that's Jack in the Box
22:06 right there
22:07 and then there's another there's the
22:09 mascot for Pioneer Chicken as well but
22:11 they have corn on the cob
22:13 beef ribs I think that's Jack from Jack
22:16 In The Box
22:18 these are just everywhere
22:21 there we go just a little more detail
22:22 the little man with a hammer is still
22:23 used today to advertise a western
22:25 exterminator company that's that's the
22:27 company I was trying to think oh they
22:29 even have sambos you'll not see sambos
22:32 anymore those are gone
22:35 no more sambos but you could take sambos
22:38 home
22:39 at some point
22:42 wow that is an oversized loaf of bread
22:47 oh Orange Julius ah
22:50 this place is like after my own heart
22:52 Orange Julius you can't even get it
22:54 anymore sometimes Dairy Queen has a have
22:56 a new version kind of like a
22:59 you know not a very good version of
23:01 Orange Julius they don't make it with
23:02 the same concoction they used to have
23:03 but Orange Julius man back the original
23:06 Orange Julius very very tasty but hey
23:09 you can't get the original version
23:10 where's Julius anymore even though
23:12 sometimes spices will sell and say they
23:14 have orange julius but really it doesn't
23:16 lots of big boys down inside oh even
23:19 noggles so a Knuckles just opened uh
23:23 where the Mad Greek was over in Buena
23:25 Park hopefully it's still open I ate
23:27 there a couple years ago did a food
23:28 review there noggles as well so I just
23:31 love like fast food history SoCal
23:33 history this is annoyed right there
23:35 lots of McDonald's stuff as well
23:37 McDonald's started in Southern
23:38 California also a lot of Ronald stock
23:41 Ronald's not used as the mascot anymore
23:43 for McDonald's you hardly ever see him
23:45 in a commercial the Burger King
23:48 over here got the colonel Colonel
23:51 Sanders even a little Theme Park action
23:53 I guess there was a Busch Gardens at one
23:55 time in Los Angeles I feel like if I was
23:58 to ever open a place of business an
24:00 establishment a museum of any sort this
24:02 is the kind of place that I would open
24:04 there are so many things in here that I
24:06 love that I've covered over the years
24:08 this is my five 100 yeah really uh
24:14 really Blown Away
24:16 oh some eating stuff
24:24 there's a second level
24:24 upstairs second level so I believe
24:27 there's an additional fee is that the
24:29 Museum of Modern mythology
24:31 Mission Street ninth no that's something
24:33 different I don't know what this is
24:36 this might not even be active anymore
24:38 this is just like a slate from something
24:39 that used to exist so a lot of the stuff
24:42 I do know and a lot of stuff I don't
24:43 know like my brother's barbecue I know
24:46 where the heck was that there's not very
24:49 many good RC places around I've noticed
24:52 Southern California is not really a
24:53 barbecue Mecca there's like one near me
24:56 that's good yeah no this is you know we
24:58 think of barbecue you do not think of
25:00 SoCal as your next thing out there's
25:03 this glass case take a look at this like
25:05 King Kong right here you put a coin in
25:07 and this metal King Kong this monkey
25:09 will eat your coin okay asked about a
25:12 couple things so the washboard sign was
25:13 from a museum that was in San Francisco
25:15 and there is no second floor here so
25:17 those are signs from the former a former
25:21 San Francisco Museum was not really
25:23 associated with the relics Museum here
25:26 so that was kind of confusing but there
25:28 is no second floor here but the thing
25:29 that probably out of everything the
25:31 whole museum was amazing but this blows
25:33 my mind this was Sean Penn spicoli's van
25:37 so just picture when all the smoke rolls
25:40 out of here from the extracurricular
25:41 activities that whole scene
25:43 this is the van this is the actual
25:46 freaking
25:48 van and while we're in this area gonna
25:50 take a short commute over to the Karate
25:52 Kid apartment just right down the road a
25:55 couple bottles in the museum
25:57 a figure when in this neck of the woods
26:00 might as well swing by the iconic South
26:04 Seas apartments from The Karate Kid
26:08 Daniel Larusso and his mom
26:10 moved in Here No Vacancy on the side
26:14 there the South Seas
26:16 and around the side you know it's
26:18 interesting where the
26:20 Cobra Kai was chasing
26:22 Larusso over that way this has all been
26:24 this used to be an empty field this is
26:27 the last time I was here has been
26:28 completely converted into like condos
26:29 and apartments
26:31 okay it looks totally different
26:53 Ralph Macho of course would have brought
26:53 the bike in here
27:03 there's the apartment off in the
27:03 distance
27:07 I always thought it'd be so cool to live
27:16 I think they actually returned here if I
27:16 remember correctly
27:18 for the series Cobra Kai
27:20 as well
27:22 and since the last time I was here a
27:24 couple years ago there was a fire here
27:25 that was very newsworthy
27:28 thankfully the place didn't burn down
27:30 still here
27:36 one thing is kind of always interesting
27:36 to me about that movie when Miyagi beats
27:38 them all up over here I think why did
27:40 Miyagi not get charged for beating up
27:45 you know high schoolers
27:51 right in here
27:51 it's always interesting thing about
27:52 movies it always kind of kind of amuse
27:54 me but basically the fence was right
27:55 here where that all took place and I
27:58 think
27:59 like miyagi's little area which right
28:01 here his little work shed was like
28:02 somewhere in this area but it looks so
28:03 different since the last time I was here
28:05 that's actually a really cool house
28:07 over there too you ever been by this
28:09 spot before no I've only been to the the
28:12 candle place that was the dude yeah the
28:15 candle place in North Hollywood
28:17 so I am returning to an area here at
28:20 Pierce College where they used to have
28:22 some Old Trapper Lodge statues also in
28:25 the same vicinity that we were in and it
28:28 appears as if they have gotten rid of
28:30 the Old Trapper Lodge items
28:33 you see him in there
28:36 and put up this fence so yeah
28:39 they're still back there
28:47 so they're back there
28:47 oh yeah they're still back there but
28:49 they uh they want nothing to do with
28:51 them and they do not want people going
28:53 back over to take any photos thankfully
28:55 I covered this subject a couple times
28:57 years ago
28:59 before they put this fence up
29:01 they're still back there you just can't
29:03 get to them
29:04 Old Trapper Lodge statues I think from
29:07 late 1800s like 1897 1898 early 1900s
29:12 over 100 year old back there so you get
29:14 a really good view from this angle
29:23 so these remind me a lot of it's not I
29:23 don't think they were Claude Bell but
29:24 Claude Bell who did a lot of the Knott's
29:27 Berry
29:28 uh you know the women sitting on the
29:30 benches at Knott's Berry these that's
29:32 what this kind of reminds me of
29:34 and I feel like if they're going to get
29:36 rid of these maybe they should maybe
29:37 they should get them to the valley
29:38 relics Museum
29:45 they're just hidden here behind this
29:45 fence you get another view there of that
29:48 one of that photo that you showed me of
29:50 like the kind of Indian chief guy yeah
29:53 they're having a little battle up there
29:55 and obviously shaking hands no they're
29:57 not they're actually having a they're
29:59 having a little tussle so if some of the
30:00 stuff is you probably wouldn't consider
30:02 this PC by today's standard is probably
30:03 why the college does not want to
30:05 acknowledge these
30:08 but I feel like they should go somewhere
30:09 they should probably end up these belong
30:11 in a museum
30:12 yeah right up there
30:20 now I had to refresh my memory I kind of
30:20 looked up the back story on it the
30:22 artist was a guy by the name of John Ein
30:25 or Ian e h n and he owned the Old
30:28 Trapper Lodge by the Burbank Airport and
30:31 that's where those sculptures removed
30:33 from here so the the lodge was torn down
30:38 but they salvaged the sculptures and now
30:42 the sculpture is here
30:43 maybe they'll be moved somewhere else
30:45 maybe they're moving back to the Burbank
30:46 Airport and you can see them
30:56 they're still back there all overgrown
30:56 yeah there's a lady up there in the
30:57 shrubs
31:08 we kind of figured since we saw a lot of
31:08 Bob big boys Bob's Big Boy stuff at the
31:10 Museum
31:11 might as well go to a spot you and I
31:14 have probably eaten here a dozen times
31:16 yeah or more yeah maybe more than a
31:19 dozen
31:20 Daphne was also noticing and I kind of
31:23 wanted to also point out there's a mini
31:25 Bob right up there so you got the big
31:27 Bob over here or yeah big boy Bob over
31:30 in the front
31:31 and then you got the mini Bob
31:33 around here little Bob
31:40 just an iconic spot
31:40 just a classic
31:42 I call it a Roadside Diner but I guess
31:45 you call it a Roadside Diner even though
31:47 it is in Burbank
31:49 there's Bob right there you also got
31:52 this very big old neon sign here as well
31:55 this particular restaurant was built in
31:56 1949 by local Scott McDonald and Ward
32:00 Ward Albert has the oldest remaining Bob
32:02 Family Restaurant in America all right
32:05 you know one thing about Bob's though I
32:06 never get the burger I always get this
32:08 we always get the spaghetti I get the
32:10 chili spaghetti what are you gonna get
32:13 no I might I might a burger I might get
32:15 something different you get something
32:16 different I'm gonna get the chili
32:17 spaghetti I'm gonna go with my the
32:19 classic go-to chili spaghetti at Bob's
32:22 Big Boy okay while I'm looking at the
32:25 menu Daphne was just telling me that we
32:27 are sitting next what what Booth are we
32:28 sitting next to the Jack White Weird Al
32:31 please so obviously so there's people
32:33 that are sitting next to us are sitting
32:35 in the booth the Jack White and Weird Al
32:36 Yankovic sat on sat in yeah how long ago
32:40 do you think this photo was taken I
32:42 think this photo was 2014 based off of
32:44 his haircut which looks like it was from
32:46 like the um when it was doing the little
32:48 rockabilly kind of era and kind of place
32:51 I'm blinking on the album that it was so
32:53 he was uh he was having a little piping
32:55 hot caffeinated beverage with his Idol
32:57 weird owl you can even get breakfast
32:58 food at any time of the day you can get
33:00 the big boy scramble any of this
33:02 breakfast stuff but as again I have my
33:04 uh I'm a creature of habit what can I
33:06 say
33:08 I think it might get so my usually my
33:11 go-to obviously as stated is the Bob's
33:13 chili so I think I might get some onion
33:14 rings too you want you want somebody
33:22 now the waitress asked you want onions
33:22 on that I said oh yeah bring me a lot of
33:24 onions and they did not disappoint this
33:26 is a mountainous volcano area of onions
33:29 going on here but I love the chili on
33:32 top of the spaghetti with the with the
33:35 bread here the toast I've been on like a
33:38 club sandwich cake and I've been getting
33:39 them
33:40 every presentations yeah so you can get
33:43 like a side of fries and the salad that
33:45 you got the salad and she was like do
33:47 you want to exercise
33:56 there's a club sandwich in there
33:56 somewhere you can even purchase this
33:57 concrete big boy you got some hats over
34:00 here you got some stickers like it has
34:01 the Dodgers logo yeah I used to have
34:03 this hat I lost it on the log ride right
34:05 you know what you're saying yeah it's
34:06 not so I remember from your video that
34:07 it went like flying
34:09 all right all right a successful day I'm
34:12 full you got some leftovers
34:15 and I think that's it I think we had a
34:17 good day in the valley
34:19 we're not in we're not in the thick
34:21 Valley now we're in the more hot North
34:24 hollywoodish Valley yeah even though
34:26 it's a technically burbanking it's the
34:28 valley we were deep in the valley yeah
34:30 if the weather's drop down quite a bit I
34:33 think we might even start raining soon
34:34 yeah it's supposed to rain in a couple
34:36 days
34:36 yeah as long as it doesn't rain on us
34:38 right now in front of the big boy but
34:41 that's gonna do it for today check out
34:43 the Daphne show on YouTube she has a
34:45 channel as well
34:46 and I'll see you in the next video from
34:48 the valley well my vid next video might
34:50 not be from the valley we're in the
34:51 Valley now but I'll see you in the next
34:54 video all right take two I'll see you in
34:56 the next video the Vlog
