0:10 new event that has reared its head since
0:13 i was in florida they began taste of
0:16 calico where they have partially
0:19 reopened their theme park
0:21 i'm gonna head over there check it out

0:29 the appropriate
0:30 face and head covering
0:34 you're right big the foot you do have to
0:36 purchase a tasting card in advance to
0:38 gain entry
0:39 good thing i got one they sold out
0:43 the main entrance here is blocked off
0:45 gotta go around to the other
0:47 got myself a nice little spot here for
0:50 my vehicle
0:56 as the traffic cruises by and i'm still
0:56 adhering to
0:58 my weight loss plan project that i've
1:01 been on
1:03 this will not be a temptation i may eat
1:05 a little bit but i'm not going to eat
1:06 all the items now there will not be any
1:11 rides or attractions like ghost rider
1:15 looming over me up there
1:20 will not be happening but it's the area
1:23 of knots that i love that is open this
1:26 knott's berry farm is kind of almost
1:28 like two separate
1:30 theme parks in one there are the
1:32 coasters on the other side
1:34 of the property and then there's the
1:36 ghost town section which is my
1:38 favorite and that is what is open for
1:41 this
1:42 event i'm i'm really happy about that
1:46 and this hat because of being stored in
1:49 my
1:50 in my car for the last month or so
1:52 without being used is a little
1:55 misconstrued or maybe it maybe it'll
1:58 it'll formulate around my noggin who
2:01 knows i'm heading in there
2:02 in recent days they have announced
2:04 another event which will be called
2:06 taste of knots this one taste of calico
2:09 is all sold out and that other event
2:11 which doesn't happen for a couple of
2:13 weeks will expand into
2:14 even more of the property that's
2:17 something to look forward to
2:18 it's kind of hard to believe i'm going
2:19 to be stepping foot back in here after
2:21 all
2:22 after months and months and months this
2:24 starts at noon current time 11
2:26 53 at seven minutes till it opens i
2:29 can't swing by here without saying hello
2:31 to the bear looking good bear looking
2:33 very good
2:34 about to go through the screening tent

3:19 but they didn't make you pull this down

3:22 i have missed this oh these guys got the
3:26 right idea they
3:27 they knew how to get through things the
3:28 last couple of months they playing some
3:30 cards
3:31 walk down this alley here to check in on
3:33 an old friend see if he's still around
3:35 after all this time

3:44 it's been like four months since i've
3:45 seen who did you think you were gonna

3:53 the trendy thing it totally you've been
3:55 doing it way before was even trendy
3:57 still got some cigars for sale huh how's

4:00 probably slow but you know people are
4:02 back in here so maybe you'll sell a few
4:04 the tables stretch all the way over here
4:06 plenty of
4:08 room and you can go through
4:12 the tunnel over here but
4:15 where it stops is so all these tables
4:18 have been expanded
4:19 but there is a fence up there i'm
4:22 noticing the water on the flume is
4:23 running
4:24 oh no way they have the train out here
4:26 parked as well good to see the rio
4:28 grande train
4:30 so my dog locked me out of her room oh
4:32 no
4:33 in the saloon they have a boysenberry
4:35 smoothie i might have to look into that
4:37 good old boot hill oh yeah just kind of
4:40 tucked away under under this coaster
4:42 even some tables stretching back all the
4:44 way over here by calico river rapids as
4:46 well
4:47 and tucked away back in there is a
4:49 relaxate relaxation zone called a relax
4:51 zone but it's a relaxation area
4:53 going to go ahead and walk in and
4:56 see what's going on back here with the
4:59 soothing sound
5:02 of a waterfall upon entry
5:06 it kind of adds to the ambiance right
5:09 says you may
5:10 remove in this area so that's nice
5:14 you can come back here get yourself a
5:16 little little space
5:18 at the moment i'm the only one back here
5:21 according to this you can get up to five
5:24 different treats or meals or beverages
5:27 or
5:28 items a through g on this side and then
5:32 continuing
5:33 h through q on the other so we got
5:36 a true q
5:40 and there is quite a bit on here from
5:43 pizza
5:44 to boysenberry wings to basil lemon i
5:48 might have to try a
5:49 basil lemonade that sounds pretty good
5:51 mac and cheese which i like
5:54 what else can i kind of dive oh gumbo i
5:57 do enjoy some gumbo
5:59 i think i might do two maybe three items
6:03 how did so i've seen these before in the
6:05 past where
6:08 you just they tear off them but this one
6:10 has a qr code on it
6:11 so that must alert them to how many that
6:14 you have
6:15 left on the on the card itself
6:19 yeah there really are tables everywhere
6:21 and anywhere out here it's good to see
6:23 thank you for continuing to wear your
6:24 face covering and being mindful of
6:26 social distance it is interesting not
6:28 seeing the horse coaster running there's
6:30 a horse that goes all across this rail
6:32 a lot of craft booths out here as well
6:34 all right i'm inside the saloon now see
6:36 if they have that basil lemonade in here
6:38 or not
6:39 craving some basil lemonade they don't
6:41 have it in there it's across the way
6:43 here at this
6:44 booth which after reading the sign that
6:45 says cucumber eliminated but maybe i'll
6:47 try a cucumber lemonade instead at this
6:49 this booth you use this to scan your
6:51 card and that is the item right there
6:54 i'm getting the
6:54 cucumber lemonade is gluten-free as well
6:58 gentleman up here is doing a little
6:59 entertaining from the stage
7:01 just kind of talking to everyone as
7:02 we're here at the picnic tables
7:05 cassie oh my goodness this is really
7:07 really tasty it's a little unusual with
7:09 the cucumber in it but
7:10 i like lemonade i like cucumber don't
7:12 know if i ever had the mixture of the
7:13 tube but it's not bad i like it
7:16 it's a little tart but it's a little
7:18 tasty
7:20 and there's actually a cucumber in there
7:21 look at your two cucumber chunks down in
7:23 there
7:24 thank you for visiting today that's
7:26 where it gets the flavor well it's
7:27 probably also added in with the juice
7:29 actually there are two slices not one
7:31 but two slices hello
7:34 this is as far as you can go from this
7:36 angle did i mention how happy i am to
7:38 see that log flume with the water
7:40 running and operating again that is
7:41 good good news and it's right across
7:44 from more tables and my favorite
7:46 attraction out here the mine train well
7:48 that in the log ride
7:49 those are my two favorites can't wait
7:51 for him to be back seeing the stage
7:53 really does
7:54 does make me miss haunt season though
7:55 that's i miss hot season
7:57 and speaking of exciting the berry tales
8:00 is coming back
8:02 it's gone through a def couple different
8:03 incarnations of things it has been but
8:06 berry tales is a throwback to the past
8:08 that they are bringing back
8:10 something that was decades old before my
8:12 time here looking forward to this new
8:14 version
8:15 and to reiterate for the hundredth time
8:16 there is plenty of seating area out here
8:19 you knew when i said sit thank you for
8:20 that that was very kind of you
8:22 ladies and gentlemen of applause for new

8:26 you can all see the back the back of

8:59 oh yeah doesn't it look really really
9:01 delicious i think it looks good
9:04 oh wow that has a very thick boysenberry
9:07 flavor to it i don't know calorie-wise
9:10 health-wise if this is better than
9:12 eating a snack or a meal
9:14 but i figure if you're drinking calories
9:16 i'm no
9:17 doctor but if you're drinking calories
9:19 maybe it's better than putting a heavy
9:21 item in the stomach
9:23 and this would have been i well this is
9:25 item number two off of my tasting
9:27 cartridge scan the qr code and i have
9:29 three left to go after this i'm probably
9:30 not getting the best deal getting only
9:32 drinks it was 25
9:34 for this event for five items so maybe i
9:36 should get some food just to even the
9:37 price out a little bit but
9:38 i don't know i'm trying to stick to my
9:40 there are quite a bit of those circular
9:41 items down there in the ice
9:43 i'm looking for the basil lemonade well
9:45 my word is so close it's gonna bite the
9:46 fuzz off your beard
9:48 it's right behind you over there all
9:50 right yeah he was right it is it's right
9:52 over here right around the corner so

9:54 he is so helpful up there just anyone
9:56 that has a question he's just willing to
9:58 willing to just lend a hand and you know

10:02 letting everyone know the directions
10:03 around here in calico let's see how
10:05 lemonade is with a touch of
10:07 basil oh yeah
10:10 oh definitely oh that's a lot of basil i
10:14 like it though it might be a little too
10:15 strong for my
10:16 my my taste buds but i like it you
10:19 wouldn't think it by looking at it
10:20 because there's only just like that one
10:22 little leaf down in there but man that
10:24 really
10:24 that packs a punch i do need to get at
10:26 least one food item in my belly i've
10:28 decided on the gumbo with chicken and
10:30 rice and then i'm gonna polish it off
10:32 with another beverage the boysenberry
10:33 icy float so
10:35 four drinks and one food item total
10:37 which i know might not be the proper way
10:39 or maybe frowned upon to do things at a
10:41 food festival but you know you don't get
10:43 you don't get thinner by eating a lot
10:45 and i've worked up a little bit of an
10:46 appetite i'm kind of
10:47 a little hungry now and there it is
10:49 right there the gumbo with chicken
10:51 shrimp and boysenberry sausage
10:52 i don't think i'm gonna i'm gonna think
10:53 i'm gonna pack on too many pounds by the
10:56 you know it's just like a little sample
10:57 thing so i don't think i'm gonna put on
10:58 too much weight from
11:00 consuming this in this little small tray
11:03 here it shouldn't be too bad
11:05 just kind of enjoying the little sausage
11:07 there the chives on top and some of the
11:09 other
11:10 goodness that is kind of mixed in with
11:12 this entire thing
11:13 it is tasty and good to get a little
11:15 something inside
11:17 the belly a little it's like it's not
11:18 going to fill me up completely but
11:20 it's it's it's it's something as a you
11:23 know one-fifth of all the items at least
11:25 i got something that has a little
11:26 consistency to it
11:28 of sorts it's really good it almost has
11:30 like a sweet flavor to it
11:32 now i just got to find the icy and i'm
11:34 good to go the icy as a dessert a little
11:37 a little polishing off to the end the
11:39 crescendo
11:41 three drink items a food and now
11:44 a fourth drink item making it five total
11:46 and my tasting card
11:48 has come to an end and it just so
11:50 happens to be at this booth that i was
11:52 out earlier
11:53 when they gave me this they not only
11:55 gave me one straw but an extra straw
11:58 and i said well it's just me i don't
11:59 need an extra straw and they said well
12:01 this one's going to decompose because
12:04 it's made out of paper so
12:06 that's nice of them because plastic
12:07 straws last a little longer than paper
12:09 straws
12:10 so i'll have this in case i need another
12:11 one if this one starts to fall apart
12:14 but this is at the boysenberry icee it
12:16 also does come with ice cream but i
12:18 opted out of the ice cream at the bottom
12:20 it just went with the just a normal eye
12:23 shape
12:53 i just seriously throw the pressure
12:53 oh yes you know a little bit of a brain
12:56 freeze but
13:12 oh it's sitting in the brain freeze it's
13:12 setting in
13:17 this is nice i'm glad i did this the
13:17 last of the five
13:35 all in all a really good event and went
13:35 very well i noticed in the morning the
13:36 first couple hours it was a little less
13:39 busy i want to say busy because it was a
13:40 limited capacity but
13:42 there were fewer far fewer more people
13:44 less people
13:45 in the morning time there was as
13:47 afternoon started to kind of
13:49 come into fruition but all in all a good
13:52 time
13:53 i would come back most likely we'll come
13:55 back i do have tickets for the extended
13:57 this was the taste of calico i have a
14:00 tickets for the taste of knots
14:02 later on this month should be a good
14:03 time heading out now the starbucks is
14:06 open for business
14:07 as well i always like here in the gift
14:09 shop they have some stuff along the
14:10 walls that kind of show the history of
14:12 this establishment
14:13 oh man you got the right idea there
14:15 that's a good that's a good call very
14:17 stylish as well
14:18 this rooster has more or less become the
14:20 mascot
14:21 here on property you can just find it
14:23 all around the area
14:24 in the parking lot walking in front
14:26 through the
14:27 through the marketplace ended up
14:29 stopping at the shop on the way
14:31 at the exit and got some boysenberry
14:35 sugar-free punch mix it's concentrate so
14:37 you just put it with a little water
14:39 this will last a while i always like
14:41 having this occasionally i have a glass
14:44 every couple days
14:46 or so i enjoy it and they have special
14:49 souvenir bags now which i've never seen
14:51 with wind is kind of
14:52 blowing it around as well but it has the
14:55 the guide map on the side that's going
14:57 to do it for today
