welcome everyone I'm on the coastline of
0:12
California and I heard about a shipwreck
0:14
that happened right below our feet count
0:17
stanus is with me he's filming we're
0:19
climbing down this very steep incline to
0:21
check out the SS Dominator a ship that
0:24
ran into this very shore in
0:27
1961 and we're going to go down this
0:29
treacherous hike
1:04
step one was actually getting down from
1:04
the top we had to climb all the way down
1:07
this little pathway down to where we are
1:09
now but now we are at ground level and
1:11
there are some very unique
1:13
rocks look at this very
1:17
cool now we actually have to walk along
1:20
the shore and find the
1:30
Shipwreck you can actually see see some
1:30
houses that have actually been built
1:32
right up there and you have to wonder if
1:34
the homeowners up on that Hill that
1:38
Cliff actually know if the Shipwreck and
1:42
the history of what happened is actually
1:43
down here among the
2:00
man someone lost a
2:07
Sho there's lots of birds out here and
2:07
I'm the biggest bird not big bird but
2:10
one of the biggest
2:22
birds just curious but what the heck is
2:22
that that's like a sea creature of some
2:24
sort it's got like a bubble in the
2:26
middle is that an octopus let me check
2:29
no it's it's legitimately an animal
2:44
man well we thought it was going to get
2:44
easier the farther we went along but
2:47
check this out it's getting more and
2:48
more Steep and
2:50
Rocky just our luck continue on
3:19
it looks like some sort of door hatch or
3:19
something that's maybe the the handle
3:22
where you pull the door open perhaps and
3:25
maybe that's where you would see through
3:27
either outside or into the
3:36
ship is that a
3:36
fish is that a fish
3:49
head it's amazing look at all this this
3:49
damage over the time all the years this
3:52
portal down here I don't know what this
3:54
is looks like a big giant Cannon almost
3:56
or a j I don't know what it is it's
3:58
amazing it does look like a big jug
4:02
almost it was March 13th 1961 when this
4:06
exact ship got caught in a heavy fog and
4:09
did not see the shoreline directly in
4:12
front of them crashed directly where
4:14
we're sitting right now right
4:17
here in the
4:30
water you see how the tide is low
4:30
normally the water's way up here luckily
4:32
we were out here when it's low tide so
4:35
you can actually see all these
4:38
remnants over decades and decades the
4:42
entire ship has decomposed right after
4:44
the wreck they actually used tugboats
4:46
and they tried to actually pull the ship
4:48
back into the water to save it but atas
4:50
it was too late it was too far up on the
4:53
rocks and speaking of saving things it
4:55
looks like this mechanical huge
4:57
mechanical piece of machinery has tried
5:00
to been salvaged also but it's wedged
5:03
between the rocks for over 50 years this
5:05
thing sitting here rotting away in the
5:07
Salty Sea that's
5:13
awesome it looks like it might have been
5:13
tank at one time I'm not an expert I
5:15
can't tell but right in the center there
5:17
you can see that circular portion of it
5:19
definitely something must have spun
5:20
around who knows what giant
5:23
artillery baby yeah there's the uh
5:26
there's the Treads the Treads there and
5:28
the gear wheel
5:38
amazing you got to wonder if this was
5:38
actually one of the Smoke Stacks
5:40
probably was a lot taller but that could
5:42
have actually been one of the Smoke
5:44
Stacks that stuck out of the middle of
5:46
the ship now it's laying down on the
5:49
ground
5:51
here a lot of history out here on this
5:53
beach parts are just spewed all over
5:56
here all the way down that way I can see
5:58
it over that little Hill and way back
6:00
down over that way
7:02
the sh wrecks down here down here
7:02

7:35

7:37
said about coming out here at low tide
7:39
so if you do some research the low tide
7:42
is the best time because you can see how
7:44
far the water unless you bring your swim
7:46
truncks which I know you're super fond
7:47

8:23
Life hey B this ship this ship this
8:23
ship do I look like Ricardo mataban do
8:28
