A Rainy & Empty Day At Six Flags Over Texas - Unusual Dark Ride With Worst Coffee EVER / Summer 2024

0:19 me off in the on the horizon is the very

0:23 first Six Flags amusement park now I've

0:28 been to a few Six Flags

0:30 over my lifetime the one I go to the

0:32 most is Six Flags Magic Mountain North

0:35 of LA but I have been to this one in the

0:38 early '90s with my family I was

0:40 explaining yesterday when went to the

0:41 Rangers Rays game where the Rays were

0:43 decimated swept all three games I went

0:46 to yesterday's game but I was mentioning

0:48 how I went to a ball game at the old

0:50 original Stadium which is torn down back

0:52 in the early '90s and also with my

0:54 family in the early '90s we went to the

0:56 Six Flags don't have a lot of

0:59 Recollections of what was in there and I

1:00 think a lot of things have changed since

1:02 I have been in there but I'm going to

1:04 check it out I'm inviting you to join me

1:06 it's Six Flags time the very first one

1:10 the very first Six Flags right here at

1:11 Arlington Texas join me shall you little

1:15 view of it there across the

1:18 water even got a ferris wheel off in the

1:21 distance I do love some good Ferris

1:22 wheels let talk to my buddy Jacob the

1:25 carpet bagger he's been here a couple

1:27 times was getting a hold of him the

1:29 other day and I said is it worth going

1:30 to he goes oh yeah there's some really

1:32 great stuff in there some good theming

1:34 and a couple dark rides so I do like

1:36 dark rides so I'm heading in and the map

1:38 has me walking this way to Six Flags

1:41 this is called the road to Six Flags

1:43 however it's blocked off because in the

1:45 very near future they're going to be

1:46 having the allstar game here this is

1:49 going to be allstar game Village so I'm

1:51 going have to go around chalk to Stadium

1:54 here find another way

1:56 in also a hurricane just touched Shore

2:00 but it's heading more towards Houston in

2:02 that direction than it is Dallas

2:06 so don't think it's going to affect this

2:08 area too terribly much at least not

2:11 where I'm at all right I might be

2:14 mistaken looks as if that Ferris wheel

2:16 was placed over there for the allstar

2:19 game Village it's going to be

2:22 happening not part of Six

2:30 Flags be high of activity out here it is

2:30 certainly overcast out

2:32 here I won't be filming on any of The

2:34 Coasters I don't even believe they allow

2:36 it plus I didn't bring anything that

2:38 would I didn't bring like a GoPro wrist

2:40 trrap or anything like that but I don't

2:42 I don't believe the Six Flags now Six

2:44 Flags and Cedar fa have officially

2:53 merged I believe that was like a couple

2:53 weeks ago and the form of Wet n Wild

2:55 that has changed names is now part of

2:58 the Six Flags I believe hurricane Harbor

3:00 which is interesting because the

3:01 hurricane just touched the shore of

3:03 Texas and it kind of the name kind of

3:06 fits all right upon heading in first

3:09 thing I'm noticing is the front entryway

3:11 is a very familiar Texas landmark in San

3:13 Antonio the Alamo so you kind of have

3:16 that as you're first walking in and as

3:18 you're first going in you're kind of

3:19 seeing the Six Flags they have the six

3:21 us Flags which are above the top of the

3:24 carousel over across the fountain and a

3:27 couple characters were out and about

3:28 trying to get a photo but looks like

3:29 they're going be going backstage are

3:30 going to be taking a little bit of a

3:31 break so I caught them as they're kind

3:32 of like walking by which was kind of

3:34 nice but I'm actually in now I am now

3:37 being greeted at Six Flags Over Texas

3:41 established

3:43 1961 right here you have some of the

3:45 look like these have a sky or if they

3:47 still have the sky buckets right there

3:49 be kind of cool if they still had the

3:50 sky buckets I'm going to start making my

3:52 way in now stablished 1961 the very

3:56 first Six Flags it's happening right now

3:59 Six Flags the first the OG I like the

4:04 retroness of this place definitely has a

4:06 retro Vibe and I think the fact that

4:08 it's overcast and a little stormy is

4:10 going to there going be smaller crowds

4:12 today than usual and it's not going to

4:13 be as hot ooh there's Aquaman right

4:15 there Aquaman Power Wave take a look at

4:19 this thing this thing up here definitely

4:20 would get you kind of nauseous I think

4:22 kind of spinning around kind of reminds

4:24 me of that thing they have over at Camp

4:26 Snoopy at knots the very spinny R it's

4:28 called the pemon

4:30 right there the pandemonium that was

4:32 it's kind of like a mouse coaster You'

4:33 see it like a fair but a little more oh

4:36 that's a little more dramatic than a

4:37 mouse coaster look at that thing

4:39 pandemonium oh my gosh they have the

4:41 Hall of Justice here too just like they

4:43 have a Magic Mountain except Magic

4:44 Mountain it's a dark ride I don't know

4:46 if this is an attraction though

4:48 Centennial Park Hall Justice maybe it is

4:50 an attraction I can't tell or maybe it's

4:52 just a

4:53 facade no it is the dark ride just like

4:56 magic mountains check it look again

4:58 there is like no

5:00 one there's no one in this line right

5:02 now oh there he is there's the Joker

5:05 right there get the

5:06 Joker not a bad idea oh watch out heads

5:09 up heads

5:11 up oh what's going on over here

5:13 flammable liquids wait what what is that

5:16 machine right there oh wow

5:18 wow what the

5:22 heck also I believe this used to have 3D

5:25 glasses on it out in California but they

5:27 don't have 3D glasses on they didn't

5:29 give me any 3D

5:30 glass maybe no more 3D it's pretty good

5:34 I think they actually have a couple more

5:35 animatronics on the one in California

5:37 than the one I have they have here but

5:38 still pretty fun this is a general

5:40 layout of the land I went ahead and

5:41 grabbed a map had to go back to guest

5:43 services and grab a map and then I'm

5:45 just going to kind of make my way around

5:46 and over in the Texas area the new

5:49 attraction the new dark ride that I

5:51 really want to go on is the pirates of

5:53 the spelunker cave which is over here at

5:56 8 which is up here but I'm going to try

5:57 to do a bunch of other stuff too but

5:59 that's definitely one of the things I I

6:00 definitely want to check out through the

6:02 course of the day yeah pretty big Park

6:04 pretty big Park probably not as hilly as

6:06 Magic Mountain probably won't uh

6:08 probably won't be as dramatic on the

6:09 inclines but yeah oh you know what while

6:11 I'm walking around this place proudly

6:12 serves Starbucks over here at roller

6:14 coaster coffee maybe I'll get a piping

6:16 hot caffeinated beverage or maybe one of

6:17 these oversized hats and just my luck

6:20 the coffee stand was closed the gift

6:22 shop was open but the coffee stand was

6:24 closed I'm heading over there's a bunch

6:25 of different areas of this I'm heading

6:27 over into the Texas area over here

6:30 which looks like an old western town

6:32 they have some uh brisket Taco best

6:34 brisket tacos ever right here of course

6:36 according to that side and then over

6:39 this way there seems to be a gentleman

6:40 up on the top of this uh top of this

6:43 balcony up here looks like him and his

6:44 wife are in a set of rocking chairs oh

6:47 there's an old schoolhouse over here as

6:51 well yeah they're just sitting right up

6:53 there on the

6:54 balcony he looks like he's seen a ghost

6:56 he's like staring up at the roof looks

6:59 like he SE a ghost buddy got the saloon

7:03 here the paper the local paper here the

7:06 tombstone epap I guess the name of this

7:08 town is Tombstone the second Second

7:11 National Bank this does not appear to be

7:13 running I mean there could be a lot of

7:15 stuff not happening because of the

7:18 weather but it looks like they have a

7:20 they have rodeo bulls over here that are

7:21 kind of like the teacups but they're not

7:23 cheat cups they're Rodeo blls but

7:26 they're not moving right

7:27 now look at this thing the bull even has

7:31 a little ring through its nose right

7:34 there it's an oversized chair right here

7:37 you can sit in this chair if you so

7:38 choose to get a photo where has the Six

7:42 Flags Over Texas let me swirl this

7:44 around I am going to sit in the

7:50 just the size the magnitude of the size

7:53 of this chair just so it be panning down

7:55 like that doesn't have any like armrests

12:13 to admit this is I am pleasantly

12:15 surprised with how freaking

12:21 is I mean I love a good quirky unusual

12:25 bizarre Dark Ride and this one fits that

12:28 quota all right they got it they got a

12:30 dinner over they eating dinner over here

12:32 this must be the queen of the spelunkers

12:34 right there all right they're all saying

12:36 goodby in different language almost like

12:38 a demented Twisted small world you know

12:41 I'm kind of into going on a dino

12:43 off-road Adventure look at the little

12:45 Vehicles over here too yes sign me up

12:47 for a little vehicle and dinosaurs and I

12:49 am going to be part of the research and

12:51 Recovery fuel crew entering into the

12:54 dino

12:56 Offroad Adventure already seeing a

12:59 plethora of dinos and some really neat

13:03 looking old old Vehicles oh tell me even

13:07 some classic car style down there

13:08 something that Mr Toad Jay Fus

13:20 enough yeah this almost looks like a Mr

13:22 mobile oh all right I'm in the back seat

14:25 didn't see anything any activity

15:48 this is the entrance to the log ride

15:50 however it looks as if it is not open

15:52 they have the chains up here chains

15:55 there doesn't even look like this has

15:56 been swept out so I don't even know if

15:57 it's been open anytime recently but man

16:00 I was excited about going on a log ride

16:01 I saw it on the map but it doesn't

16:03 appear as if the log ride is open so

16:06 there's a few things not open oh dang

16:08 I'm uh I I'm completely incorrect the

16:10 log ride is open it's just a queue

16:13 diverts over here look it just log just

16:14 sitting here the log ride oh yeah so

16:17 Tiana's Bayou Adventure just opens

16:20 Splash mountains closed I just recently

16:22 went on the log ride at the Mall of

16:24 America which was originally started by

16:27 n was Camp Snoopy love love the log ride

16:30 at notot Berry Farm let's see how this

16:33 log ride holds up probably will not be

16:35 on par which's by Adventure but you know

16:37 what I love a good log right maybe I'll

16:39 get wet

17:02 all right the gift shop with the

17:02 coffee someone arrived and there was

17:05 someone behind the counter that made me

17:06 a fresh pot of coffee so price of this

17:09 with tax this is probably the most

17:11 expensive Starbucks ever this was like

17:13 $10 and like 18 with tax $10 a $10 I

17:17 mean worth it cuz this is my first

17:18 coffee but yeah this is a good bad holy

17:21 cow I walked all around the park and

17:22 that was the only place I saw that had

17:24 that had coffee he's like your total

17:26 with tax yeah he's like do you have a

17:27 season membership to this park I said

17:28 now I don't because your total with tax

17:30 is $10 and change well it may not have

17:33 been 108 but it was a couple pennies

17:35 over

17:36 $10 hope it's good and the answer to my

17:39 question is

17:41 no something something is a

17:44 Miss with this piping hot caffeinated

17:46 but which I think I'm I'm just going to

17:48 dump it out a little pirate up there and

18:14 Palace right up here look at this uh old

18:26 Palace oh check it out they're using one

18:26 of the log rides here as like a plant

18:28 sure also the ride log ride was pretty

18:30 good but there was absolutely zero no

18:32 there was no theming whatsoever it was

18:34 just standard log ride small drop

18:35 nothing to nothing too incredible it's

18:38 also interesting that the probably the

18:40 most the price most pricey cup of coffee

18:41 I've ever had is probably one of the the

18:43 worst I've ever had just let you know

18:45 luck of the draw you just never know

18:46 when you're getting a Starbucks from a

18:48 non Starbucks location at a gift shop

18:50 you just never know all right I was also

18:52 looking for a mystery house type

18:54 attraction and evidently this Casa

18:57 magnetica over here that I thought was

18:59 the log ride this is the log ride when I

19:00 said that the log ride was closed which

19:02 is not as much as this this right here

19:04 is the mystery house it's called

19:05 something else it's like one of those

19:07 like upside down throws equilibrium off

19:09 the kind of Weird Mystery House type of

19:11 things that is closed I was looking

19:12 forward to doing that we'll not be doing

19:14 that today because this is closed I knew

19:16 something over here was closed and looks

19:18 like the the bull rodeos happening over

19:21 there they also do uh just like Magic

19:23 Mountain and other Six Flags they do a a

19:24 variety of things too including holiday

19:26 in the park wonder how they're frightful

19:28 best is all right I got a water now so

19:31 poured the coffee out didn't drink drink

19:33 like one one or two steps cof this water

19:35 was $106 cents I check the receipt

19:38 evident there's like a there's like a uh

19:40 labor surcharge that goes onto it and

19:43 it's good to get hydrated but yeah they

19:45 $10 $106 for the coffee and this 33 o

19:49 Smart Water $10 might be the most the

19:53 most priciest Smart Water I've ever had

19:54 I've seen some $8 ones

19:57 $10 Arlington coming in

20:01 hot it's good though maybe it maybe it

20:03 make more intelligent smart

20:11 groceries right here next to the

20:14 swings there's also a

20:16 train called the boom toown Depot over

20:54 gentleman named Patrick talked to him

20:59 the particular moment the train is not

21:02 running so I am now going to walk over

21:06 this way this is the TNT Shack which is

21:11 interesting it's not uh there's no uh

21:14 there's no dynamite in here it's just

21:16 it's like a mister it's like a look at

21:17 you see the Mist coming down says keep

21:31 Thrill Ride coaster ah Clos due to high

21:47 chairs right here there's a shark in the

21:59 showed up and reared his head

22:01 today over here at the

22:04 newspaper I'll see I check the weather

22:06 and see how I was kind of look for a

22:11 to stop in like the next 10 minutes so

22:15 that's not too bad as I was sitting here

22:16 I met a really nice family that came up

22:18 and said hello they've been coming here

22:20 for a few years they are locals they

22:22 were letting me know that the spelunking

22:23 ride was originally a spelunking ride

22:26 then became another ride then they

22:27 changed it back and now they have old

22:30 animatronics new animatronics they said

22:33 a lot of the locals are really happy

22:35 that that it's back as well they also

22:38 said that the very select days is the

22:41 over there which is the the area that

22:43 has the mystery house is open and it's

22:46 only open on like peak times and

22:48 weekends and the family that came up and

22:49 was saying hello they're talking about

22:51 the log ride I wasn't allowed to film on

22:53 the log ride when you get to the top of

22:55 the drop they're like no filming put the

22:56 camera away that's why I didn't show the

22:57 drop it wasn't really too much wasn't

22:59 any theming on it or anything like that

23:01 but from what I was hearing I was

23:02 talking to them she was saying the the

23:05 the mom of the family was saying that

23:07 the log ride is the first ever log ride

23:10 at a Six Flags obviously this is the

23:11 first Six Flags but they have not

23:13 changed it it is the same ride system

23:16 one of the oldest log rides you can find

23:18 in a theme park so that's kind that's

23:20 kind of neat that's kind of a cool thing

23:22 and this park opened what was it 5861

23:25 1961 that predates log rides at some of

23:29 the other Parks I don't know if it

23:30 predates knots it predates the Disney

23:32 log rides though for sure ah fresh rain

23:36 so of course as I'm filming this it's a

23:37 Monday you can see a lot of the the

23:40 shows and things happen on Friday

23:41 Saturdays and Sundays as well as train

23:44 robberies nothing really happens on the

23:46 weekdays and a couple of the locals that

23:48 I have been talking to were all kind of

23:49 saying there's just less going on on a

23:52 weekday than it is a weekend not all the

23:54 attractions are open on weekdays

23:57 nonetheless kind of

23:59 still a good day this also kind of

24:00 reminds me of how it would look when

24:01 like you know when you see a movie when

24:03 you're like filming a like a movie set

24:05 they always spray down the streets if

24:06 you ever watch a movie you'll always

24:08 notice that the streets are always

24:09 sprayed down with water that's what this

24:11 is reminding me of movie Set yeah if you

24:14 ever watch a movie you'll always notice

24:16 that there's always like they always

24:18 spray down the ground when they're

24:20 showing like a when they're showing like

24:21 especially at night just to make it kind

24:23 of glimmer a little bit more looks

24:25 better on camera so right now hopefully

24:26 this looks better on camera a big eagle

24:29 over here at the Trading Post let me go

24:31 check a look at the trading post this is

24:32 the buffalo buffalo Trading Post at the

24:35 big eagle did L up a little bit with the

24:38 rain believe the co some of the coasters

24:41 not all of them but some of the coasters

24:42 are not running right

24:45 now out in the parking lot now heading

24:50 out sure because of inclement weather

24:52 certain attractions don't

24:54 run that has something to do with it

24:56 too right here on magic mile

25:06 Street definitely was a few

25:06 things that I wish I could have done

25:09 including that Sky Tower the mystery

25:16 house had to come back one day and

25:16 remember if you're here in this General

25:18 vicinity don't email anyone while

25:20 driving I mean there no texting's

25:22 obvious but don't even here don't be

25:24 tempted to send an email when you think

25:27 yeah should I send this email when I'm

25:28 at when I'm driving along I hope this

25:31 driver that's passing by is not thinking

25:39 buddy never want so they're setting up

25:42 for the All-Star

25:43 game what a time to be a Rangers Fan if

25:46 you're here in the Dallas Fort Worth

25:48 Arlington area because last year the

25:51 Rangers won the World Series in this

25:53 year their

25:56 Stadium hosting the allstar

26:00 game I will not be here for the All-Star

26:03 game but it's kind of neat to see him

26:05 set up man I wish

26:06 that Ferris wheel over there was

26:09 operational as I was walking along nice

26:12 gentleman pulled over in his truck to

26:13 say hi name was

26:18 Cliff he was telling me I was telling

26:18 him I just got back from Six

26:20 Flags and he was saying about the

26:22 spelunking ride he said originally it

26:24 was the spelunking ride then Warner

26:26 Brothers took over it was a yose Sam

26:29 attraction again I wish this was

26:31 operational and then after yose Sam was

26:34 not in that attraction they brought back

26:36 in a modified way the

26:39 spelunkers pretty

26:42 cool talked to quite a few people that

26:44 come to say hi today gave me a little

26:51 information every's been so nice here in

26:51 my stay in Arlington yesterday at the

26:53 game and then then today I don't know if

26:56 I've ever seen a fire hydrant this that

26:57 was painted this silvery before it's

27:00 like fresh silver paint right

27:07 there very

27:07 silvery over there across the freeway

27:10 freeways down from the road that you

27:12 just saw the car go

27:14 by there's the old Wet n Wild at

27:17 Hurricane

27:18 Harbor definitely could tell that was a

27:20 Wet n Wild because there used to be a

27:23 wet Wild on International Drive in

27:24 Orlando and that attraction right there

27:27 I believe was called the black

27:29 coal I would imagine that's what it was

27:31 here too as

27:38 well now owned by Six Flags and that's

27:38 going to do it for today from Arlington

27:41 Texas The American Dream

27:50 City weather cooperated it did rain a

27:50 little not rain but precipitated a

27:53 little bit well I guess it did rain for

27:54 about an hour but not

27:58 what was projected with the storm coming

28:00 about I think it shifted off to a

28:06 direction and this neck of the woods

28:06 didn't get too bad not sure how the

28:09 other rest of the
