3:39 seen an IGA in a long time for those old

3:44 White who was an ele school student who

3:48 contracted HIV and the AIDS

3:51 virus through a blood

3:54 transfusion and the school that he went

3:56 to was here in Indiana his family lived

3:59 in a town by the name of cooko Indiana

4:02 but right outside cooko the school

4:04 system that he was enrolled in was here

4:07 in

4:08 russeville and the school an interesting

4:11 story the school back in the 80s that

4:15 the HIV AIDS virus was very relatively

4:19 Unknown People did not really understand

4:21 it like we do today and the town people

4:25 and the school basically flipped out and

4:29 banned him kicked him out of school and

4:33 the news media and celebrities got a

4:35 hold of this news and Ryan basically

4:38 became the poster child and it became

4:41 national news it was a huge huge huge

4:45 story and I want to go check out the

4:47 school I want to go check out this

4:49 historic

4:50 school that did not allow him to go

4:53 there

5:03 here it is Western school and straight

5:03 ahead is the middle school which is

5:05 where Ryan went when he was 13 years old

5:08 he was diagnosed and that's the school

5:10 that expelled him the Middle School

5:12 Straight Ahead after he was expelled the

5:14 judicial system got a hold of it and

5:16 eventually the school had to let him

5:19 back by this age he was out of middle

5:21 school and he was allowed to go to the

5:23 high school which is just on the other

5:25 side of the property

5:37 I find this very ironic that the high

5:37 school that they evicted him from that

5:39 they basically kicked him out of is now

5:41 doing a blood drive which was the

5:45 reason that all this happened in the

5:48 first

5:50 place kind of weird

5:59 right now I'm sure there were plent

5:59 plenty of good-hearted people who were

6:01 not negative on the situation here at

6:02 the school either in the administration

6:04 office the students parents and whatnot

6:07 but the fact of the matter is that all

6:09 of that culminated and began because the

6:13 school ejected him from their property

6:16 they did not want him here for whatever

6:18 reasons either to protect their interest

6:20 to protect what the parents were

6:21 thinking it all stemmed from right here

6:24 so think about that when you think of

6:26 the Ryan White story everything that you

6:28 have seen

6:30 it would not have been known if it

6:32 wasn't for this property and if you know

6:35 me personally or just through the beauty

6:59 I matched it up is because of this brick

7:06 little awnings on the door are and then

7:08 right up here you can see this little

7:10 lip where the roof meets the

7:13 wall and that's it right there he came

7:16 walking out of there and all the news

7:17 media was here to interview him and take

7:19 pictures this is when he was allowed

7:21 back to go to high

7:24 school after the court system ruled in

7:27 his favor now even though he was allowed

7:29 to go back back to school here at the

7:30 high school his family and him decided

7:33 that they were going to move they were

7:34 getting too much flak from some of the

7:36 students he was getting a lot of hate in

7:38 the classroom things written on his

7:41 locker that really were not very kind so

7:44 the family ended up moving to a small

7:46 town right on the perimeter of Illinois

7:49 and that's where he lived until he died

7:52 just shy of his high school graduation

7:55 now originally when he was diagnosed the

7:56 doctor said he was only going to live

7:58 about 6 months I think he lived about 5

8:00 years give or take which is a lot longer

8:03 than anyone expected him

8:26 window it's like little splotches of bug

8:28 defecation I think I'm going to go in

8:30 here this time last time I drove by it I

8:33 want to go check it out and see what

9:41 store here in downtown cooko Indiana and

9:45 I love these towns that have the circle

9:48 around the courthouse kind of reminds me

9:50 of The Dukes of Hazard Covington Georgia

9:52 is that way and every time I see a town

9:55 that is similar I think of The Dukes of

9:57 Hazard oh it's that dang mantis again

10:23 mantis Ryan White says he gets very

10:23 lonely he misses his friends the

10:25 13-year-old was banned from school after

10:27 it was found he was suffering from AIDS

10:29 and now his school have said they never

10:31 want him back in class doctors say he

10:34 hasn't long to live I don't want nobody

10:36 else to get it and I can see where

10:37 they're

10:38 worried but I mean if my doctor says

10:41 it's okay to go back I mean I don't see

10:43 no reason why I

10:48 can't
