0:07 2024 I'm going to be heading over to
0:09 Disney Springs today because there is a
0:10 shoe store there that I'm going to
0:13 purchase a pair of running shoes usually
0:16 wear saon or tennis shoes kind of a
0:19 sporty look to them kind of a retro look
0:22 but I have
0:24 just got reservations well what's what's
0:27 the terminology I have just signed up
0:30 for that's the word for a run Disney
0:33 event Halloween edition September in
0:39 Anaheim
0:41 13 miles I will be traversing by foot
0:45 sub jogging some running some
0:48 walking the main necessity is that I
0:51 finish and I have my doubts but I have a
0:54 little bit of time over 150 days to
0:57 prepare train if you will and get my
1:01 body
1:03 acclimated to hoofing it that amount of
1:06 distance at a Brisk Pace I say race but
1:09 it's not really a race it's a run Disney
1:11 you can run you can walk as long as you
1:14 cross the finish line or even if you
1:16 don't it's all part of the fun I would
1:18 like to go from point A to point B cross
1:21 that line see what kind of you know time
1:23 frame I get and it will be the longest
1:26 race or run that I have ever done timed
1:30 in my whole life when I was younger I
1:31 used to do a lot of 5Ks even did a 10K a
1:34 lot of one miles you know very very
1:38 quick run not Sprint but pretty close to
1:40 running very quick miles but that was
1:42 when I was in school I am a lot heftier
1:45 a lot older my knees are bad my back's
1:48 not the best my ankles have some
1:51 problems it's going to be interesting
1:53 I'm inviting you to join me I'll go buy
1:55 some some shoes shall you now this will
1:58 be additional on top
2:01 of less than a month after my FIT by 50
2:04 challenge August 10th I was born August
2:07 10th of 74 so August 10th of 2024 I'll
2:10 be 50 the race is 191 days away I keep
2:14 saying race the run half marathon you
2:17 can see the marathon weekend starts on
2:20 September 5th so I'll be out in Anheim
2:22 during that time period also haunt
2:23 season will be
2:25 happening now the
2:27 sixth was a 5K the seventh was a 10K
2:32 those sold out I got into the virtual
2:35 queue 20 minutes before you were
2:38 supposed to even go into the virtual
2:40 queue and the 5K on the 6 was sold out
2:44 before it was even time the said time
2:47 for people to even try to purchase them
2:50 the 10K was sold out the only thing that
2:53 was
2:54 left is the Halloween half marathon
2:57 Disneyland's three 13 .1 miles looks
3:02 like it's going to have a a theming here
3:05 from Hocus
3:07 Pocus I wanted to do the 5K I got to be
3:10 honest I wanted to do the 5K and just
3:12 run three miles or
3:14 brisly finish 3 miles cuz 5K is about 3
3:18 mil 10K is about 6 miles but they were I
3:21 mean this event is so popular I've never
3:23 done one I wanted to do it and I got in
3:26 under the Bell on the 13 m one and I
3:31 really am kind
3:33 of hesitant about thinking that I can
3:36 finish it but looking at the amount of
3:38 days until it's happening I think I can
3:41 pull it off and at least complete the
3:45 entire
3:46 thing look at this so even this one's
3:48 sold out now which goes without
3:52 saying Disneyland half half marathon
3:55 highlights 13m course through Disneyland
3:57 Resort and the surrounding area Bel love
4:00 character sightings half marathon
4:02 finisher I got to get the metal I got to
4:05 finish participant shirt erase bib a
4:09 downloadable downloadable finisher
4:12 certificate they make you download it
4:14 and unlimited digital downloads you know
4:17 like here you can get Goofy with his
4:20 tracksuit on high-fiving you things of
4:23 like that I believe there was no proof
4:26 of guidelines on the half marathon if
4:29 you believe you will finish the half
4:30 marathon in over 2 and 1/2 hours proof
4:33 of time is not required I will be in
4:35 that
4:36 group guaranteed I'm going to finish it
4:40 but I might be hurting by the time I get
4:42 to the end again how many days do I
4:45 got 191
4:48 days and then add three on so
4:53 194 until that Sunday of the half
4:55 marathon I got this here's kind of my
4:57 game plan over the the next month I want
5:00 to drop a lot of weight now the next 3
5:03 days I'm not going to get on the
5:05 treadmill I'm not going to run I'm going
5:08 to start in March so in March I'm not
5:11 really traveling a lot until early April
5:13 when I start the baseball stuff and I
5:15 also have some non-baseball travels
5:17 going through the end of the year it's
5:19 pretty much going to be a week out a
5:21 week home a week out a week home a week
5:23 out give or take there might even be
5:25 some two weeks out and a week home until
5:27 the end of the year so a lot of travels
5:29 coming up so what I'm thinking to
5:31 prepare is all of March when I am home
5:33 before the travel start in April I'm
5:35 going to do the treadmill every day and
5:37 try to walk between two and four miles I
5:39 can usually get three miles in in an
5:41 hour just walk normally you know at a
5:44 decent pace 3.5 pace something like that
5:48 and I'm just going to get the legs back
5:49 in shape and also by then hopefully drop
5:53 cons considerable amount of weight and
5:56 keep it dropping through April and then
5:58 after a month on the treadmill I'll kind
6:00 of stay off the treadmill and I'm just
6:03 going to start walking outside and
6:05 jogging outside starting in April so in
6:09 April I'll be off the treadmill maybe a
6:11 treadmill day here and there but I just
6:13 want to start getting outside get some
6:15 earbuds in maybe I could use my
6:17 Bluetooth headphones got to get one of
6:20 those things that hold the phone and you
6:22 know so it doesn't flop out of my pocket
6:24 while I'm running but then all of April
6:26 I'll just start
6:28 brisly slow paac jogging and then into
6:32 May I'll kind of pick it up walk go a
6:34 little bit farther jog a little bit
6:36 farther in May so just to kind of put
6:40 this in my own mind March all treadmill
6:43 walking no running going to drop some
6:45 few pounds by the end of March I'm
6:46 already dropped a little bit by cutting
6:48 back on a few things even though I do
6:50 eat kind of crappy here and there I have
6:52 lost some weight but I want to step that
6:54 up through March and then April going to
6:57 start on the outdoor kind of running
7:00 jogging and then kick it into a little
7:02 higher gear in May and then also into
7:05 June and then into July I should be able
7:09 to to run a pretty decent amount and
7:12 I'll see how my knees and I'll see how
7:15 my my back probably shouldn't be too bad
7:17 but I do have problems with my ankles
7:19 and my knees especially my left knee
7:21 when I got in that bike wreck still kind
7:23 of haunts me a little bit cuz I landed
7:25 on that knee when I flipped over and
7:27 then I got all of August and then I got
7:29 a week of September until that goes so
7:32 pretty much if you take away even a
7:34 month of preparation so let's say a
7:37 month of preparation on the treadmill
7:38 then you got a full run of or a full
7:40 month of outside so you got one
7:43 two 3 four really 5 months even taking
7:49 away the treadmill preparing to to get
7:53 ready for this and I just want to finish
7:54 it I just want I just want to finish it
7:57 that that's kind of that's kind of my
7:58 goal anyway I've explained way too much
8:01 about that through the month process
8:02 kind of excited about adding this into
8:04 the a you know a little bit of an
8:05 extension of the fit by 50 that I'm
8:07 trying to do involving now it's been two
8:10 weeks since I have hit anything in the
8:11 home gym had some people had three
8:14 separate people stay they've been gone
8:18 about a week but they were here over
8:19 this over the tenure about 8 or nine
8:21 days and that kind of just I use that as
8:24 an excuse well you know we out doing
8:26 stuff all day last thing I want to do is
8:28 hop over into the garage and hit this
8:32 and do the treadmill and hit the weights
8:36 but this whole month I'm going to be
8:38 home so I'm going to really kind of
8:40 start hitting it again pretty hard as
8:43 well so be doing again doing the
8:45 treadmill for the next solid month again
8:47 taking the next couple days off my ankle
8:51 here been having some ankle problems and
8:54 I think a lot of it is because of how
8:56 much I walk each day I'm curious if the
8:59 new shoes that I'm going to get today
9:01 will kind of help with that but I also
9:03 think it's because I'm not I never
9:05 stretch like even when I even when I go
9:08 out walking I don't really stretch
9:09 enough one of my major downfalls is not
9:12 stretching and I really need to I really
9:14 need to work on that I kind of
9:16 embarrassed to say I can't even touch my
9:18 toes without it being physically painful
9:22 just because I feel like my body is
9:24 continuously feels like a pretzel so
9:27 when I get to the point where I can
9:28 stretch and I can touch my toes I touch
9:30 the floor a little more limber I'll
9:33 showcase that over the next series of
9:36 months as well cuz that's definitely
9:38 that's a big goal of mine is to be able
9:39 to just actually reach down touch the
9:42 floor without being in insane pain on
9:47 the old hamstrings or whatever those
9:48 muscles are you know what I'm saying now
9:50 that I'm looking at this I'm realizing
9:51 my garage light has quite an orangish
9:53 Hue that's bouncing off of that coming
9:55 down from the ceiling fan again no real
9:58 Rush almost like the fit by 50 which is
10:01 going to be a slow process and once I
10:04 get lose a little bit weight I think
10:06 it's going to make it a little easier
10:09 with the amount of walking I do and the
10:10 jogging and then the eventual I'm not
10:13 going to be sprinting but I will get a
10:14 little jog in also I have to give a a
10:17 big shout out to my friend the Tim
10:19 tracker he is the one that inspired me
10:21 to sign up for this race I thought man I
10:24 got kind of discouraged with the 5K and
10:26 the 10K get sold out while I still
10:29 waiting and the kid goes just get just
10:30 get the half marathon I was like okay
10:32 I'm going to do it for a day or two I
10:35 kind of had was kind of like mentally
10:36 like unprepared for thinking about
10:38 running that far but now that I'm like
10:40 Got My Mind Set I'm grateful that I did
10:43 and he is also the one that recommended
10:45 me to go get the shoes I believe they're
10:47 called ouds or iclouds no not iclouds
10:50 they're called onclouds that's what they
10:52 are oncloud shoes and they are running
10:55 shoes unlike kind of the tennis shoe
10:58 style that I wear or have been wearing
11:00 that I'll still wear throughout the day
11:01 but when I go out for my runs and
11:03 probably on the treadmill I'm probably
11:04 going to wear those so if this becomes a
11:07 thing I have I have Tim to thank for for
11:09 the advice and a little bit of
11:11 motivation when it comes to this I
11:12 probably would not have jumped in the
11:14 queue and stayed in the queue to get the
11:16 half marathon starting on the 1st March
11:19 1st few days I'll start hitting the
11:22 light weights again I'll start hitting
11:24 this again and I'll be doing the
11:27 treadmill preparing my my body doing
11:30 some stretches maybe I can find some
11:31 stuff online different stretches
11:33 different different work workouts that I
11:36 can follow along with now again I'm just
11:37 going to state that I think possibly the
11:40 reason that my ankles hurt is because
11:42 I'm not really stretching out the feet
11:44 remember when I was young when I was in
11:46 PE the PE coach would always have us sit
11:49 on the floor take your take your feet
11:51 and you kind of do the spin around like
11:53 that I don't do any of that anymore
11:55 whenever I go out I just throw my
11:57 clothes on jump in the shower take put
11:58 my cloes clothes on well first I jump in
12:00 the shower then I put my clothes on I
12:02 head out I start doing stuff so I'm not
12:04 really doing any stretches I'm not doing
12:06 any like
12:07 calisthenics so all that I think will
12:09 help considerably if I could find some
12:12 info online or you know obviously maybe
12:15 a follow along tutorials get you
12:17 motivated to do the stretches or even
12:19 without doing that I should probably
12:20 just get more into doing that so I don't
12:23 feel like a human pretzel add in the
12:25 fact that I got a little too much around
12:27 the midsection up here here you know the
12:29 whole body is definitely not as thin as
12:33 I was back when I used to run when I was
12:35 in school that was also 30 plus years
12:39 ago 40 years ago 30 30 to 40 years
12:43 ago wow where the heck does the time go
12:47 but as the weight drops off I think the
12:50 knees will be able to handle the the
12:51 movement a little bit better and so will
12:54 the ankles a little bit better as well
12:57 and then the motivation of being with
12:58 other people while you're out and about
12:59 I've also heard that you're not
13:02 necessarily you know thinking like the
13:04 Boston Marathon New York Marathon things
13:06 like that this is half of that so it's
13:08 half a marathon you're not you're not
13:10 really trying to beat it I'm not going
13:11 to be trying to beat a time I'm just
13:13 trying to create a time to just cross
13:16 the
13:17 line and really every mile or so from
13:20 what I'm hearing there are characters
13:23 there's Waters there's Gat power AIDS
13:25 snacks but a lot of photographs a lot
13:27 you in the park you want to get a
13:29 picture with the castle you want to get
13:30 a picture in front of Space Mountain you
13:32 want to go outside on the Harbor and get
13:34 photos you want to see Goofy and mini
13:36 and Pluto and Mickey and the Hocus Pocus
13:39 crew all of them you can get photos
13:41 while you're out and about so you're
13:44 basically going to be running and then
13:45 you're going to be stopping so you can
13:46 catch your breath and do all that kind
13:48 of stuff while you're partaking of a
13:51 Disney run it's not it's not really a
13:54 everyone's out there it's not every man
13:56 for themselves out there trying to break
13:58 Rec records there might be a few people
13:59 there trying to break some records but I
14:01 think a lot of people are just there
14:03 because it's a Disney event so I think
14:04 this is a perfect one for me where
14:06 there's not really a lot of stress in my
14:08 mind I'm really overthinking this kind
14:10 of a shame to say I haven't opened up
14:12 the L It app in months months and
14:17 months but back here in August I was
14:19 down as I did the thin by Dragon Con I
14:22 got down to
14:24 216 and then I went off the rails after
14:27 that and gained a lot of it back lost a
14:29 little bit of it so I am going to weigh
14:31 myself again on April 1st or at least
14:35 the end of March let's say the end of
14:37 March and 1 of April no fooling if I do
14:39 it on April 1st cuz it's not going to be
14:40 an April Fool's thing or anything like
14:42 that but I want to get down close to 216
14:46 I might not be able to hit 216 but if I
14:47 can get close then I can weigh myself it
14:49 would be awesome if by the time I do
14:52 this run Disney event I could get down
14:54 to like 200 that is Extreme but if I can
14:57 start weighing myself again
14:59 again a month to prepare on the
15:01 treadmill kind of get getting the whole
15:03 getting the getting the blood flowing
15:05 and all that is what I need but I would
15:07 like to kind of get back on track with
15:09 keeping up with the weight and all that
15:10 too but again not starting today given a
15:13 couple days my ankle's kind of feeling
15:14 weird and I know I'm way heavier than
15:18 what I was back on August 30th and I
15:20 think I would just get discouraged I
15:22 don't I don't I just want to I want to
15:24 give it that month of kind of kicking
15:26 some
15:27 tail
15:29 all right heading over to Springs we're
15:31 heading on the Disney property the shoe
15:34 store is located on property there's
15:35 another one a little farther but there
15:37 is the place that that came highly
15:40 recommended the oncloud place is at
15:44 spring so I'm going to head over there
15:45 got a little on the OG to go since 1964
15:48 I gu that's when 7-Eleven open also I
15:52 believe just today or in the last couple
15:54 days they did a run Disney event here at
15:56 wdw obviously I was a little too too
15:58 late and not prepared for that one but
16:00 yeah also look at this traffic over here
16:03 leaving Disney World trying to get on I4
16:05 and 192 brutal that's all exiting
16:08 traffic at 5:45 p.m. team orange low
16:12 clearance 8 F6 in in but mostly team
16:16 orange because this is the closest
16:18 parking structure coming from my place
16:20 all right parked over here on the very
16:22 top the store I'm looking for is a store
16:24 called fit to run which is located right
16:27 over there just packed the Capac the
16:28 Coca-Cola Store heading down the
16:30 escalator coffee in hand escalator
16:37 time tell you I I hav off the escalator
16:41 now heading past Planet Hollywood now I
16:44 don't know a lot about gambling and
16:45 placing bets but I wonder if those were
16:47 placing bets what they would say the
16:50 over under or the time frame would be on
16:53 based on me now basically what I would
16:55 end up finishing a 13 Mile whether it be
16:57 running or walking what I would do and
16:59 right next to the Fountain fit to run
17:01 right over there the runners super super
17:03 store yeah yeah yeah totally all right I
17:06 got to stand on this little cont so
17:07 you're going to measure my feet or just
17:09 figure out exactly like what shoe I need
17:11 by standing on this yeah so it's going
17:13 to it will measure a feet you'll let us
17:14 know whether you have a high arm yeah
17:16 take a look at that the sun is already
17:18 setting over there and I now have $200
17:22 worth of shoes I also bought two pairs
17:25 of socks so that was probably $30 for
17:27 the socks but yeah $150 plus tax I got
17:31 onclouds nice now I'm sure any sock will
17:36 do but the salesman very helpful by the
17:39 way said that these have less slipping
17:42 in the shoes than other socks but really
17:44 any sock would probably work so the name
17:47 of the store
17:49 was fit to run the runner super store
17:53 now what's interesting while we the
17:54 sucon which I still am going to wear
17:56 those throughout the day but when I'm
17:58 you know maybe when I'm on the treadmill
18:00 or when I'm out eventually walking at a
18:02 bris Pace or jogging or anything like
18:04 that I will wear the onclouds and who
18:06 knows maybe these will end up being my
18:08 everyday shoes but highly doubtful cuz I
18:10 really like the the fit and the style of
18:13 the sonone there's a few different ones
18:15 of these These are the runners but
18:16 there's also something called a surfer
18:18 which is like a surfer style not really
18:20 a specifically anything for surfing it
18:22 would just like the fit of it but after
18:25 checking out my shoe checking out my
18:27 feet on the little mechanism he said
18:29 that these would be the ones I would
18:31 want the interesting thing is it's a 12
18:33 1/2 where the shoes I have on currently
18:36 are
18:38 12s so he said you want a little bit of
18:41 extra toe space in these so you know
18:44 each shoe and because I've only worn
18:46 Sionis for the last 20 years I'm not
18:48 familiar with other I used to wear
18:51 Converse Chuck Taylor Allstars but man
18:53 those things have no support I could
18:55 wear those when I was you know 27 I
18:57 can't wear those when I was 49
19:02 but these are them right
19:02 here switch Swiss
19:05 engineered interesting so in a few days
19:07 I'll give these a try on the
19:09 treadmill as soon as I put my feet in
19:12 them to be honest I could tell a
19:13 difference I could tell how cushiony
19:16 they kind of look at that look at the
19:17 bottom there but when they when he used
19:20 the little machine he could tell how the
19:22 arch support was I don't guess I don't
19:24 have a lot of arch support like I have
19:27 kind of like a little bit of a an arch
19:29 issue nothing too dramatic but
19:31 noticeable on the on the machine crazy
19:35 how technology is so that's it these are
19:37 the ones I'm going to wear and if I like
19:38 them I will do more said you usually get
19:40 about 3,000 mil per
19:44 shoe 3 to 5,000 m per shoe that's a lot
19:47 of
19:51 miles and then these here I'm not used
19:51 to wearing socks that are this I'm used
19:54 to having like high high elevated up the
19:57 calf socks the shin but we'll give these
20:00 a try too he said large I was going to
20:02 go with the extra large he said oh no
20:04 for a size 12 and2 you need the
20:06 large so I trusted him I'm a little
20:08 silhouetted out but that Sunset looks
20:10 pretty dang cool right look at
20:13 that can't see me you can see the sunset
20:17 oh let me do
20:19 this give me them
20:25 shoes they kind of call this an
20:25 announcement video you call this
20:29 an addition Into My Fit by 50 and and a
20:32 extracurricular extra enhanced so I'm
20:35 doing the fit x50 by October or August
20:38 10th I almost forgot my birthday August
20:39 10th
20:41 1974 was when I was born so 24 I'll be
20:44 50 years old and by then I should be
20:47 slender going to really work hard on
20:50 dropping the rest of the the baggage
20:52 here which will help considerably and
20:54 the salesperson was also saying that a
20:56 lot of the issues with back he even said
20:58 neck sometimes the neck issues are
21:02 caused by shoes as we get older uh not
21:05 having proper shoes now sonone are Leaps
21:08 and Bounds better than anything I've
21:09 ever worn and I really like them they're
21:12 a comfortable shoe out and about but
21:14 just more of like a hangout shoe I don't
21:16 know if I want to be doing any working
21:17 out in them or running at a Brisk Pace
21:20 walking at a Brisk Pace again and all
21:24 things aside I there's a chance that
21:26 once I start jogging
21:28 that I might realize my body might say
21:31 oh no no no no no you are too unfit you
21:34 have too many health issues with the
21:35 knees with The Shins with the ankles
21:39 with the back you do not need to be
21:41 doing this and if that's the case if my
21:44 body's telling me that I will realize I
21:46 don't need to be running maybe uh maybe
21:50 it's not for everyone but I will learn
21:51 that as it goes along but from what I
21:53 was reading on the site so the the Run
21:55 starts at 5:00 a.m. this is you know
21:58 months from now this is in September
22:00 starts at 5:00 a.m. and it goes to 10:
22:01 so you have 10:00 5: a.m. 10: a.m. so
22:04 you have 5 hours to complete 13 mil
22:08 which I feel like you could get that if
22:10 you were just walking at a very quick
22:11 pace so you walk a quick mile 15 minutes
22:15 4 would be an hour yeah I can finish it
22:19 I walk in a normal Park day I can knock
22:22 out 10 20 miles if someone's in town to
22:25 we doing rope drop to clothes Park
22:26 hopping and all that
22:28 so odds are good I'm going to finish it
22:30 but I
22:31 cannot I cannot promise I will be
22:33 running the whole time and who knows I
22:37 will either never do it again or this
22:40 could be a Gateway into doing it
22:43 multiple times celebration they just had
22:45 one last month they have a half marathon
22:47 so it might be something I do for the
22:49 heck of it heck it I might end up doing
22:52 it got my onclouds I got my socks got my
22:54 features features
22:56 Elite but well that's going to do it for
22:58 today this has been an announcement
23:01 video Sun is going down looks beautiful
23:03 there's a STK flying by right there or
23:06 some sort of a bird some sort of a fowl
23:09 I'm excited about trying these to
23:11 reiterate one last time will not be
23:14 hopping on the treadmill for a couple
23:15 days my ankle's been kind of feeling a
23:17 little bit weird I think these are going
23:18 to help with that a little bit so also
23:21 to add in the other night I went on a
23:24 little run around the neighborhood
23:26 probably ran a/4 mile just for the heck
23:28 of it to try it out holy cow I am out of
23:32 shape so that's probably why my ankle is
23:35 hurting if I can drop 20 30 lb if I can
23:38 drop 10 lb next month or 15 lbs before I
23:41 start doing the jogging month after next
23:44 that will help considerably and then as
23:46 that decreases want to get down below
23:48 210 it' be nice to get down to 200

24:33 parking flat parking
24:36 now it's 75% or
24:39 more parking
24:45 structures which I am in right now and
24:45 over here on this side there's not
24:46 really a whole heck of a lot of people
24:47 parked on the top floor always park on
24:49 the top because there's way more spots
24:57 available what's a Cirus solle kind of
24:57 have a Space Mountain vibe to
25:04 it oh check it out see the lights on
25:04 spaceship
