0:08 up to wayna Park to one of the few
0:11 locations in this neck of the woods of
0:14 this establishment most of them are
0:16 based around Illinois Indiana and those
0:20 surrounding states this is gonna be good
0:23 I'm inviting you to join me shalyah
0:27 preparing to pack up my accessories and
0:30 heading out
0:31 I agree big the food I was thinking the
0:34 same thing this place just might have a
0:37 Chicago dog here in SoCal fine flow
0:43 arrived at the corner of La Palma and
0:55 Buena Park Downtown East
0:55 those are the cross streets in fact
0:57 there is a rather large sign here
0:59 stating the area it was in looking
1:02 towards the drive-through they have
1:03 someone over there taking the order
1:05 really nice old school neon there there
1:08 are a variety of choices you can choose
1:10 to get your food I believe yeah the
1:13 according to that banner on the other
1:14 side of the patio there says the dining
1:16 room is open I'm gonna play that
1:18 half-mile by ear however I notice there
1:21 is a park in close proximity so I just
1:23 get it I just get it to go and keep up
1:25 with the theming of the series it was
1:28 built to look like a a vintage diner a
1:31 roadside diner and maybe mix with a
1:33 train station of some sort on either
1:36 side and they have beef burgers and
1:41 salad looking at the lettering there on
1:44 the side also they work owns a look at
1:48 the neon signage from this particular
1:50 angle look the tree is blossoming there
1:54 a few vehicles there peeking up over the
1:56 hedge line getting their orders through
1:59 the drive-through section giving their
2:01 tasty meal seems to be very busy it's
2:04 very popular I've heard a lot about this
2:08 place so I'm pretty happy to try it out
2:10 the backdrop of the palm trees is a nice
2:12 touch as well certainly love that and I
2:16 have met up with kin from theme park
2:18 access you've been here before Ken's
2:22 about how many times if you had to say
2:31 yeah so more than more than ten times
2:31 you ate lunch here with Jay Leno just
2:35 randomly showed up sat down at your
2:38 table what was the what was the menu
2:41 item the Jake should I get Jake what Jay
2:43 chose Italian people
2:48 an Italian beef what would you recommend
2:50 I was thinking Chicago dogs I guess
2:52 Chicago dog that's that's what they're
2:54 famous for is the Chicago dog the same
2:56 as an Italian beef or is that different
2:58 Italian beef is a shredded beef shaved
3:01 feed like sort of like a french tips
3:03 okay so I'm not gonna get that cuz I had
3:06 French Dip recently but I haven't had a
3:07 Chicago dog probably since the last time
3:09 I was in Chicago I'm gonna do it they
3:12 really have dressed it up nice in here
3:14 good enough taking a gander here at the
3:18 menu
3:28 I'm not sure what he's getting at oh he
3:28 ordered onion rings they're suffering
3:30 some of the classic characters that you
3:32 would know from that area
3:34 Capone up there on the top corner to
3:36 pick up section over there behind
3:37 Wrigley Field if you will
3:45 oh whoa what's going on up there this
3:45 guy's like looming down upon us this
3:47 guy's taking a nice little bubble bath
3:49 up top back in there is where all the
3:52 magic happens
3:53 sure in hundred they're just all kind of
3:55 figures up there along the railings
3:57 there they also sell a take-home bottle
4:00 of their own hot peppers that's pretty
4:02 dang cool see if she shared a meal with
4:05 Jay got our order I got a couple bags a
4:07 couple of little drinkable items hey so
4:11 there's a park close by Yeah right right
4:13 up the street here where they do the
4:14 summer concerts all right let's cruise
4:15 over there and eat boys Iraq Park bo is
4:19 s e ra NC the center of the Southland
4:24 Lena Park California I never realized
4:29 that that was their slogan or one of
4:32 their slogans we have found a bench to
4:36 sit on now there is a picnic table kind
4:38 of tucked away between those few trees
4:40 over there but there is a gentleman
4:41 walking his dog who has procured it and
4:43 there's also a picnic area but it is
4:47 taped off but I think the guy with his
4:50 dog might be yeah it looks like he might
4:52 be meandering away so we'll sit here for
4:55 now are we gonna try it we're gonna try
4:57 to walk over there okay let's get rides
5:00 do it now what's gonna happen is we're
5:01 gonna get all the way over there and
5:03 then he's going to sit back down yeah
5:06 you're still on the phone look let's
5:08 just let's take our chances all right
5:12 got ourselves a table cam
5:15 two bags of food and what do you see
5:20 kind of shake that was chocolate cake
5:22 shake they take their chocolate fudge
5:24 cake what I see I got the standard
5:28 vanilla and you got the chocolate cake I
5:32 don't have any cake in my No thank you
5:33 no where'd you get it - iced tea iced
5:35 tea you always go for the tea yeah I'm
5:37 going with the bottled water even though
5:39 I got a shake yeah kind of balances it
5:41 out I believe it was a yesterday or the
5:44 day before they said these were not
5:45 technically required when you're out and
5:47 about anymore as of today as of today a
5:49 point apart still has a mask code so
5:55 when you go in to order yourself like
5:57 that when you eat you could they haven't
6:02 maybe they've created one that you could
6:04 maybe put a straw through it oh yeah I
6:10 got the logo right on there it's a it's
6:13 a little dog it's a pup I'm a hot dog I
6:16 could smell it like treason - yeah
6:18 there's the Italian beef the Italian
6:21 beef wow what kind of cheese is that on
6:23 their problem provolone cheese that
6:28 looks pretty tasty and then get the
6:29 gravy on the side so they give it you go
6:31 inside well normally they put it on
6:33 there they really wrap that up in a bag
6:35 like well yeah cuz it leaks so you put
6:39 it on the side you kind of dip it in
6:41 interval it on that way it's not all
6:42 soggy when you get it to where you're
6:44 going okay that make sense and then
6:47 inside here that's all mine oh you got
6:50 on your rings - yeah those are your
6:51 onion rings I'll let you got those one
6:53 of your enter rings fell out into the
6:55 bag somebody take one
7:04 okay good aren't they we're good onion
7:04 it's done by two dogs this one you can
7:07 see chili already coming out and this is
7:10 my proper sir cago dog they don't call
7:13 us a cago dog do they they do name it
7:16 that how do you pronounce that house you
7:18 are Jew
7:20 oh you're gonna just go dump it right on
7:23 mmm
7:24 that way it's not all soggy when you get
7:26 it here so I make sense so it's not dip
7:29 beforehand you going on first impression
7:38 well you've had it before but first
7:40 impression on this this outing this was
7:42 good Wow Chicago and chili dog I was
7:51 thinking the same thing you kind of read
7:52 my mind on that one Wow yeah look at
7:57 that just like oozing oh look at the bun
8:00 look at the little flavorings why is
8:02 that sesame seed it might be sesame seed
8:06 sesame seed bad poppy poppy seed but why
8:11 I have Kilowog he can distract me on the
8:13 menu items if I've learned anything from
8:15 these 30 30 days I've been doing this
8:17 now but I know nothing about food other
8:20 than the fact that it tastes really good
8:23 okay I'm gonna take it down
8:39 mm-hmm I've yet to have anything from
8:39 Portillo's it's not you
8:52 I like onions a lot there's a lot of
8:52 onions on this
9:01 and this chili has beans on it and
9:01 nourishes a couple different types of
9:02 people people who do not want beans in
9:04 their chili and those that love beans in
9:07 there chillout I'm kind of either or do
9:10 their a meat chilling or being told
9:11 right but there are some people who
9:13 adamantly do not like either told
9:17 grilled chili does no beans
9:27 there's beans enough a little messy but
9:27 definitely worth it definitely worth it
9:31 just challenge out and I think I can't
9:35 stop eating it just pour it on don't be
9:41 shy
9:41 oh I get like I get food items all over
9:46 my lens all the time let me see my
9:47 fingers they have like chili and cheese
9:49 all over them so what happens after I
9:52 finished the videos sometimes even
9:53 halfway through I have to take the
9:55 little Lysol wipes and wipe everything
9:57 down not for the obvious thing that's
10:00 floating around that people are
10:02 concerned about that too but more to
10:04 clean all the sticky stick-to-itiveness
10:08 from the food off of my camera little
10:11 side little behind-the-scenes info
10:21 mm-hmm you know it's good when I was a
10:21 crunch that snap snap
10:37 often think about that too when I have
10:37 someone kind of tagging along for
10:38 tagging along to eat and I put the
10:41 camera at the far end to get those shot
10:43 yes you know that way you can see both
10:45 people in the frame that if we were both
10:48 on this and what if the picnic tables
10:50 sit back huh do you want to try it
10:53 hasn't happened yet if I keep eating
10:55 like this every day in a couple couple
10:57 weeks to a month and I have a little bit
10:59 more weight on me too that freaking
11:02 water that's up balancing now
11:18 switch the camera angle up just a bit
11:18 slide to the other side you can see back
11:20 over there they have those picnic tables
11:22 kind of roped off even though the tape
11:25 has been torn down yeah I kind of
11:27 figured I supposed to be back there but
11:29 this tables not it's fine oh yeah look
11:32 at this oh yeah that looks good when I
11:37 went to Chicago
11:38 I know Chicago is known for its pizza
11:41 but I never even got around the pizza I
11:43 got around to eating a lot of these
11:45 items the Chicago how they should do it
11:48 well because they're a chicago-based
11:49 company that's what I'm thinking look at
11:51 this it's got the little pepper on there
11:53 it's got the full cut-up half-size
11:56 pickle well full length plus slice down
11:59 here pickle and some onions I've also
12:03 learned that you do not it's also
12:05 frowned upon you do not put ketchup on
12:07 Chicago dog that is a big negatory but
12:11 mustard as seen here what stop talking
12:15 see the suckers
12:42 okay mm-hmm and far beyond okay right
12:42 now there was a lot of noises going on
12:45 whoo when I was crunching into this
12:47 thing hear the snap of the hotdog
12:50 you had the swashy bizarre sound of the
12:54 pickle swirling around in there
12:56 and then he had the juiciness of the
12:58 tomato being crunched into what's all
13:02 about a symphony of food it was like
13:05 music playing it was music to my mouth
13:07 well not to my ears I could hear it you
13:11 could always hear what's going on when
13:13 you bite into food more vocally in your
13:16 ears than the person sitting next to you
13:18 or people watching well we definitely
13:19 heard that
13:20 so imagine how it sounded to me
13:40 there's old
13:40 there's a lot of relish on that I'm not
13:45 usually a relish guy but it works with
13:47 this do you know the type of peppers
13:52 these are no they look like green beans
13:55 with their peppers why by itself I think
14:07 it's better when it's the whole package
14:23 this was a good stop and in your
14:23 hometown yeah right done super it's a
14:29 local spot for you yeah not far from me
14:31 only for my miles there's only like two
14:34 in California yeah I was looking up
14:36 there's one over near kind of hamona
14:39 area I believe somewhere in that area I
14:41 came here the name of the exact town but
14:43 there's like no other than that there's
14:44 not even a tea in Northern California in
14:48 Indiana as well
14:49 Indiana Chicago baby Minnesota just in
14:54 the states around Illinois and maybe one
14:58 in Florida I'm gonna go here again
15:26 two dogs down number are you normally
15:26 more of a fry guy or an onion ring guy
15:28 definitely you always go for the onion
15:31 rings how do you compare these onion
15:32 rings to other places I don't know these
15:36 are pretty unique they taste different
15:37 than most places like what you think the
15:39 flavoring is this different or the way
15:41 they're made
15:49 got the crunch aren't you not dried out
15:49 on the inside that's a big fact
15:51 sometimes you'll have like a good
15:53 exterior but the inside just kind of
15:55 throws it all to the wind and they're
15:57 not you know a lot of places to
15:58 over-salt them like they turned salt
16:00 their fries yeah like the one I had you
16:05 got a good size hanging inside of it and
16:09 you get a pretty good amount yeah pretty
16:12 good pretty good all right sometimes you
16:14 order from other places you wonder why
16:15 do you get like three onion rings three
16:17 or four yeah yeah do or need half up you
16:20 still got like half a dozen laughs so
16:21 pretty good amount when I was a kid my
16:23 dad would always get vanilla ice cream
16:25 or vanilla shakes and I would say what
16:28 the heck I've told the story before but
16:30 I'm gonna reiterate it I always always
16:32 say why the heck would you get vanilla
16:34 when you could get you know mint or
16:36 chocolate or Neapolitan that's how you
16:40 pronounce it Neapolitan yeah but as I've
16:43 gotten older I'm starting to embrace my
16:46 father's thought process and I have
16:50 opted I'm going to spill all this I have
16:52 opted for vanilla on more than one
16:56 occasion good vanilla is one of the best
16:59 flavors for the taste buds if it's done
17:02 right I'm gonna see if this whoo it's
17:05 oozing I must see if this is done right
17:07 I've been discarding of our trash over
17:09 in the receptacle this right there we're
17:11 noticing that it might be the only
17:13 people in recent days that have done
17:15 that there's quite a bit of litter
17:17 around us at the moment cups and napkins
17:21 now my lid I did not put back on because
17:23 I've laid it on the table just put my
17:27 inserted the straw Sabby just I went on
17:32 that whole rant about an ally now I'm
17:33 looking at your cake chocolate chocolate
17:36 cake chic
17:37 chocolate so what do they do they grind
17:42 it up put it in there with been allies
17:44 for you ended up in the shake so you got
17:46 a piece of cake and a shake
17:49 he's the cake handshake holding one next
17:52 time I'm gonna get that for now
17:53 don't try to sway me on my vanilla go
18:02 with getting that through the straw
18:04 stuff that's a thick shake so is yours
18:17 even possible to drink with a straw
18:18 yes versa to chunky it is it's possible
18:22 to drink it through straw until you get
18:23 to a chocolate cake suddenly came
18:27 through this there's chunks of cake
18:31 chunks of frosting let's see if we can
18:33 find a big chunk there's some smaller
18:35 chunks it looks amazing but the frosting
18:40 is really good when you get to it and
18:41 sometimes it's stuck to the side of the
18:43 cup seeing it I say even the frosting
18:45 included when they grind it but there's
18:46 there's a huge chunk at the bottom
18:47 feeling it down in there oh yeah see if
18:51 I can dredge it up but it's it's a huge
18:55 chunk of frosting you'll get to it
18:57 just be patient
19:04 not something you want if you're on a
19:04 fitness program or a weight-loss well at
19:08 the way to the shake you lift it game
19:10 the muscles if you're making it if
19:13 you're the one making the shake and
19:14 shaking it all out beforehand you might
19:16 burn a few calories but for us
19:26 I know as I was giving me a shot chunk
19:26 of frosting together frosting
19:35 I'm a sucker for a good shake this is
19:35 really good we also deliver
19:53 all the info there they also hope Peters
19:53 like a big party right now they might
19:58 not be doing too many of those catering
20:01 big parties know California's two
20:05 gatherings of a hundred now you can
20:08 gather a hundred people now that's a
20:11 hundred people's a lot so if you had a
20:13 hundred people in this park no one would
20:16 say anything come up and say hey you got
20:17 to disperse that well we need fifty
20:20 times our current amount to reach 100 I
20:23 don't know would you be comfortable with
20:25 being in a crowd of a hundred people if
20:27 they were all kind of packed together if
20:31 they were wearing masks yes
20:32 if most of the people weren't wearing
20:34 masks I would I guess since the theme
20:39 parks have already started to announce
20:41 that they're opening there's gonna be
20:44 way more than a hundred people there
20:45 yeah but they can only operate and
20:47 tracks anyway
20:50 but they used operator my sparks are
20:53 going with 35% so when you think
20:55 Universal and Disney opens out here what
20:58 do you think the percentage of capacity
21:00 building and your your your theme park
21:03 access knowledge probably about it is
21:07 Neil probably open about 35 36 percent
21:09 so here's 80,000 people so it probably
21:12 be 25,000 total this capacity here
21:24 Disney World a two thousand now you need
21:24 to 100 right when I used to work at
21:25 Disney before the expansion it was sixty
21:28 thousand per part but now with galaxies
21:30 are just a little more they've added a
21:32 little bit more that's a probably 70
21:33 totally 70,000 so 25% of that it's like
21:41 20,000 I'm like 20,000 25,000 and then
21:47 they'll be plenty of elbow room and then
21:49 with like knots they're gonna they're
21:51 gonna run it their minimum which is
21:54 probably got 16,000 days
21:58 and now it hasn't announced today yeah

22:03 we're in Buena Park and not this right
22:04 there and so is this place
