0:16 it's the daily wounds

0:33 today I want to talk about the past of

0:33 My Life on

0:37 YouTube so

0:44 far I haven't always done YouTube videos

0:44 in fact I used to work a lot of

0:45 different jobs and play in quite a few

0:47 different

0:48 bands starting in 1991 my retail career

0:52 kicked off I work these series of jobs

0:56 for 20 years can't forget about the

0:57 part-time jobs as well on top of

1:00 full-time jobs everything changed on

1:01 August 9th

1:07 2011 this was the day after putting my

1:07 two-e notice in that I walked away from

1:09 the feed store thus ending my retail

1:17 career now I know what you're thinking

1:17 how do you just walk away from a job

1:19 well there is a backstory to this in the

1:21 mid to late 2000s I started a YouTube

1:23 account now this was not a YouTube

1:25 channel I didn't even know what a

1:26 YouTube channel was I just had an

1:28 account where I could upload home videos

1:31 or clips from the bands I was in over

1:34 all the years on April 7th 2009 when I

1:36 uploaded my first real video onto the

1:39 Adam the woo Channel happy

1:42 Halloween happy Halloween shortly after

1:45 that video was uploaded I realized how

1:47 YouTube was meant to be operated

1:50 somewhat and I started my adventure

1:52 series I would travel around central

1:54 Florida finding all kind of weird wacky

1:57 abandoned locations a few people watch

2:00 the videos but then all that

2:02 changed with this

2:05 video right

2:13 here yeah definitely inside uh inside

2:13 River Country with that video everything

2:16 changed kind of back then I had no

2:19 friends on YouTube that did videos I had

2:21 no shoutouts I had no one reposting my

2:24 videos so when I say everything changed

2:27 kind of that meant I just got got a few

2:30 trickling in subscribers one maybe two

2:34 maybe three maybe four when I hit 100

2:38 subscribers it blew my mind what this

2:40 did was motivate me by getting a few

2:42 subscribers and getting comments from

2:44 people I had never met in real life I

2:46 got excited I wanted to go out I wanted

2:48 to see things I wanted to document what

2:50 was out in the world I filmed a couple

2:52 more abandoned videos and then I decided

2:55 to film my very first filming location

2:58 video standing here in front of where

3:00 Edward scissor was filmed and this would

3:02 have been the salon in the movie it's

3:04 kind of interesting to look back on now

3:05 but when I did the first filming

3:07 location video a lot of people did not

3:09 enjoy it they wanted abandoned videos

3:11 all the time abandoned abandoned

3:13 abandoned now looking back on it I think

3:16 a lot of people appreciate my filming

3:17 locations it's interesting how when you

3:19 put something out at first people

3:21 dislike change and then they learn to

3:24 enjoy it here's a red letter date in the

3:26 history of Adam the woo December 11th

3:28 2010 on that date I firmly decided that

3:32 I needed to get out of debt eventually

3:34 quit my job and eventually move forward

3:37 into making videos fulltime and this

3:40 moment is so exciting to me that I'm

3:43 going to pull the video up on the TV my

3:46 van

3:47 dwelling experiment Adventure whatever

3:50 you want to call it I'm going to sell

3:51 all my stuff that I can't fit in the van

3:53 anything that's not a necessity I'm

3:55 going to get rid of it at this point it

3:58 makes a lot of sense the van I've had

3:59 for for about 3 3 and 1/2 years is the

4:01 Ford E150 van it's a

4:05 2006 I'll show you kind of what I did to

4:07 it if you look here yeah you see the

4:09 limo tent it's crazy to rewatch this

4:11 window has no tent on it I sold

4:14 everything that wouldn't fit in my van

4:15 moved out of my apartment spent the next

4:18 few months paying off the van getting

4:20 out of debt continuing to work all

4:24 culminating to my master plan we'll

4:27 continue later but right now I need some

4:36 lunch I've had this really crazy

4:38 hankering for fish tacos lately there's

4:40 no cell phone signal here do you ever

4:41 have those moments when you don't have a

4:43 very good cell phone signal so all you

4:45 do is just go through old pictures on

4:46 your phone instead of surfing the web

5:03 I really need to clean off my phone me

5:03 and Tyler when Tyler live with me that's

5:14 there that's what I'm talking

5:17 about now where were we on December 24th

5:20 2010 I traded in my shoddy camera for a

5:23 professional Canon T2i complete novice

5:27 being me still pretty much a complete

5:29 novice but back then I was more of a

5:31 novice than I am now either way I had

5:33 the gear but did not have the knowledge

5:36 what did I create with my new camera

5:37 gear this video the Christmas Florida

5:40 video was the first video that I got

5:42 hate on and I decided right then that I

5:44 would never mock a subject again for

5:47 those really in the festive Christmas

5:49 mood get

5:50 buried at the Christmas Cemetery I don't

5:54 know though that is pretty funny you

5:57 failed your failure following that did a

5:59 video called The Devil's Chair you can

6:02 see the thumbnail right there and the

6:05 reason I bring up this video is cuz this

6:06 is the first video where a friend of

6:08 mine a close personal friend of mine

6:11 contacted me and said bro what are you

6:15 doing realizing you can't please

6:18 everyone and even those that are close

6:20 to you might not approve of what you're

6:22 doing I continue traveling around

6:24 Florida filming close to 100 videos

6:28 until

6:29 now we're back at this date remember

6:32 August 9th 2011 was the last time I

6:35 punched a time card I went on tour with

6:37 a band let's digress for a second and

6:40 talk about bands these are all the bands

6:42 I played in Hidden children Alias Clark

6:43 the new threat formally called 10 new

6:45 toes and the last band I ever played

6:47 music in gutter mouth after I quit my

6:49 last job I went on tour then visited my

6:51 sister for a few weeks in Indiana after

6:53 that I was ready to start my full-time

6:56 career on YouTube after one year of

6:58 planning I knew what I had to do it was

7:00 time to hit the open road with the help

7:01 of my friend Jinger we slept in my van

7:04 traveled around the country filming

7:06 random roadside attractions abandoned

7:08 theme parks movie locations anything and

7:11 everything I felt the world wanted to

7:14 see I had no money there was no patreon

7:17 there was no AdSense I did not monetize

7:20 any of my videos at that time all I knew

7:22 is it was something I needed to do the

7:25 early bird gets the huge

7:27 gargantuan 100

7:30 plus abandoned Six

7:33 Flags

7:35 right because of this one video the

7:38 momentum of everything changed the

7:40 interesting thing

7:42 is I'm watching the video and laughing

7:45 everyone told me the Six Flags was not

7:47 there anymore this is before the

7:49 internet and urban exploring Community

7:51 was so popular and everyone was doing

7:53 YouTube videos and everyone said don't

7:56 go don't go don't go it is not there I

7:58 did not listen and I went and this was

8:01 the result after I uploaded this video I

8:03 started getting hundreds of subscribers

8:06 that meant so much to me because I had

8:08 done over 100 videos before this road

8:11 trip over 100 videos to gain 1,000

8:14 subscribers and now I've almost doubled

8:16 my subscribers because of one video we

8:19 need a medic over here we need a medic

8:21 now most of the videos on that road trip

8:24 all did really well when it comes to

8:25 views after that I continued to keep

8:28 traveling stay staying in the van

8:30 staying in Florida going to Indiana to

8:33 my sisters coming back to Florida

8:35 sleeping in the van just traveling

8:37 traveling traveling and filming and then

8:40 I decided welcome everyone Adam the woo

8:42 here it's my second channel daily blog

8:45 channel the daily woo and like any

8:48 change like anything different people

8:51 hated

8:52 it you know what I'm talking about

8:54 Frankie but over time people started to

8:56 embrace the daily woo I had some great

8:59 ideas and one of those

9:02 ideas started right here January 1st

9:06 2013 I had this crazy idea not about

9:09 breeding pine trees but about filming

9:12 Disney

9:14 Vlogs welcome everyone Adam the woo here

9:17 I was going to start doing daily Vlogs

9:19 from Walt Disney World documenting weird

9:22 little secrets fun facts keeping up with

9:25 the park food rides parades anything

9:29 everything you may be thinking no big

9:31 deal a lot of people do Disney Vlogs

9:33 well I assure you back then that was not

9:35 the case I was excited about what the

9:37 future held

9:40 until that's the entrance to the

9:42 happiest place on Earth through every

9:44 single fault of my own Fox News ran a

9:46 story on me and two other explorers who

9:49 snooped around Disney goldw everywhere

9:51 it's just sitting there rotting on

9:52 Disney property the crazy thing is they

9:55 really haven't done anything with it

9:56 Disney did not like that and they

9:58 trespassed me it's a trespass warning

10:01 right there there's some pertinent

10:03 personal information on there so I can't

10:04 get too close to it it's a trespass

10:06 warning from this guy right here I got

10:08 trespassed yesterday from Walt Disney

10:10 World property

10:12 hard get aad of this guy I was not in

10:15 the right frame of mind even though I

10:16 was completely at fault for what

10:18 happened and what I did being trespassed

10:21 from a place that you know and love and

10:23 cherish it's like being kicked in the

10:27 junk proverbially

10:29 proverbially whatever that p word is

10:32 because of my actions and the decision

10:33 that Disney made this proved to be very

10:36 sad but also very beneficial and

10:38 motivational I hit the road even harder

10:41 than I ever did before never looking

10:43 back filming traveling documenting both

10:46 for the Adam the woo Channel and the

10:48 daily woo

10:49 Channel it was a blessing in disguise I

10:52 traveled all across the country filming

10:55 hundreds and hundreds of videos I

10:57 covered 46 of the 40 8 continental

11:00 United States up the East Coast cross

11:03 country out to California back and forth

11:06 four or five continuous cross country

11:11 trips and then this

11:20 happened April 6th 2014 a small

11:20 documentary crew headed up by Kenny

11:22 Johnson out of the Baltimore area

11:24 decided to do a short film about my life

11:27 and my videos this gave people an inside

11:30 view into my life something that I

11:32 cannot present myself from an outsider

11:35 point of view this was awesome you know

11:37 one day when I'm gone then there will be

11:40 an unlimited amount of videos online so

11:42 I guess now through the beauty of the

11:43 internet things just live on forever you

11:45 should check it out it's awesome

11:48 22nd 2004 that's not right

12:00 100,000 subscribers hitting 100,000

12:03 subscribers on the Adam the woo channel

12:04 was a huge deal for me just watching

12:08 that clip kind of like brings a little

12:10 bit of emotion to my heart because it

12:13 took so long to get to a th000

12:15 subscribers sleeping in the van

12:16 traveling so getting a hundred times

12:19 that blew my mind January 30th 2015 that

12:23 was the day I moved in here this is a

12:26 historic day in my life

12:30 that was a day I got out of the van and

12:32 actually had a bed to sleep in a

12:35 bathroom to

12:37 use a refrigerator a microwave a

12:41 stove it blows my mind I'm getting a

12:43 little emotional now even thinking about

12:45 how exciting this news is that was a

12:50 historic historic day for me a very

12:54 emotional day for

12:55 me and all documented on YouTube some

12:59 point when I get a little bit of money

13:01 not going towards the rent not going

13:03 through the deposit to turn the

13:04 utilities on and get the internet

13:06 connected when I get some money there

13:08 will be a TV over here now while the

13:10 excitement of all this was underway

13:13 there was something dramatic that was

13:15 also happening from a few months prior

13:18 in Florida a video of an abandoned place

13:21 that I did came back to haunt me you

13:24 want to take

13:30 a I was hit with a the very dramatic

13:30 legal aspect of something I had done in

13:33 Florida without going into details let's

13:36 just say this changed my outlook on

13:39 going to certain abandoned places what I

13:42 would film what I would

13:44 document when it came to abandoned

13:47 locations all of this everything I had

13:50 to deal with upon moving to California

13:54 things back on the East Coast now that I

13:57 was here on the West Coast

14:00 A lot happened and it changed my mindset

14:04 when it came to abandoned properties

14:06 this did not mean I stopped going to

14:08 abandon properties I de had to be very

14:10 picky and very choosy about what I

14:13 continued to visit once all that

14:15 dramatic aspect was out of the way

14:17 something amazing was about to

14:21 happen that's a hint August 25th

14:26 2015 a place I have not been in between

14:30 two and a half to three years I am

14:33 talking

14:34 about this

14:45 shun Walt Disney World after being

14:45 allowed back by the Walt Disney Company

14:48 I vlogged it one day and then put up a

14:50 main Channel video the next day of my

14:53 journey from California back to Florida

14:56 what an exciting moment just to think

14:59 documented on YouTube the reason why I

15:02 was not allowed there and was

15:05 banished and now it was documented my

15:08 return on that very same

15:10 format so cool watching those old videos

15:14 really tugs at the heartstrings makes me

15:16 a little Misty eyed gone through a lot

15:20 and vicariously you guys have joined

15:22 along together with me and I cannot

15:24 thank you enough for this journey I have

15:27 taken and this journey that I will take

15:29 documented through the beauty of the

15:31 internet and YouTube just think right

15:36 now

15:42 currently the daily woo channel has

15:42 44,000 subscribers The Adam the woo

15:44 channel has

15:47 205,000 with a combined 40 million views

15:53 and rest assured this is only the

15:55 beginning and I speak from experience

15:57 because in the past

15:59 there were certain points that I hit

16:02 certain plateaus that I have showed you

16:05 in this video and through that there's

16:08 always been a future and there will be a

16:11 future and I'm glad you're on board
