1:06 hi that's Ben Stiller playing the

1:09 character of Walter midi I went and saw

1:12 this movie about a week ago I was going

1:14 to do a movie review then but I put it a

1:17 little bit on the back burner thought

1:18 it'd be a good video for New Year's

1:20 because a lot of people make New Year's

1:22 resolutions and they decide I'm going to

1:24 get the gumption to do things I've never

1:25 done before I'm going to make a packed

1:27 with myself to make some changes

1:30 and that's what this movie here is all

1:33 look Walter midy Ben Stiller look at him

1:36 right there he's on a mountain he's on a

1:37 mountain right there with his coffee and

1:40 his

1:46 briefcase right there Ben Stell Ben

1:46 Stellar actually directed this movie and

1:48 he co-produced it and he was the leading

1:51 man star was pretty much in every scene

1:54 in the film which is pretty awesome this

1:57 in my opinion is Ben Stiller's best

2:01 directorial film that he's done the

2:03 other one that I think is probably a

2:05 masterpiece an Undisputed Masterpiece

2:07 and unknown Masterpiece is the Cable Guy

2:10 cable guy is a great movie too but this

2:12 movie is fantastic on a whole different

2:15 level it's about a guy who works for

2:17 Life Magazine Life Magazine is crumbling

2:20 the division of Life magazine that

2:23 creates the hard paper copies is ending

2:25 everything is going to the internet

2:27 pretty much like everything is nowadays

2:29 so the hard copy paper editions are

2:31 going away and they need a final photo

2:34 to go on the front page of Life magazine

2:38 and who has to find that photo that came

2:40 up missing well no one can find it

2:44 except this guy right here Walter midy

2:48 the premise of the movie is Walter midy

2:50 is kind of a loner he keeps to himself

2:52 he always Daydreams and imagines things

2:55 so at the beginning part of the movie

2:56 there's a little bit of crazy CGI stuff

2:59 like that that tries to get him tries to

3:01 depict him what he's imagining what he's

3:04 fantasizing trying to ask a girl out

3:06 that he likes his love interest trying

3:08 to actually go on these adventures in

3:10 his mind but he's never actually done

3:11 anything he's never left or gone and

3:13 done anything other than go to work come

3:16 home and imagine he's never let his

3:19 imagination protrude into his legs and

3:22 his arms and actually gone out and gone

3:24 anywhere or done anything all these

3:26 things that he wants to do this guy

3:28 right here Walter

3:35 it in the movie his father passed away

3:35 at a young age I think about 15 or 16

3:37 years old his dad died so he had to get

3:40 a job he had to take care of his mom but

3:42 then when he got older when he got

3:43 financially stable he was still stuck in

3:45 his ways of doing his job and not going

3:47 out seeing the world his dad who passed

3:50 away gave him a travel journal and that

3:53 travel Journal was completely empty he

3:55 was unpacking some boxes when he moved

3:58 he found the travel Journal

4:00 completely empty he had gone nowhere so

4:03 he needed to change his life and that's

4:05 what I like about this movie this movie

4:07 is awesome I don't want to give too much

4:09 of it away but go on YouTube and look up

4:17 minutes and 15 seconds 6 minutes and 8

4:19 seconds 6 minutes and something it's an

4:21 extended version it's one of the best

4:23 trailers I've seen out there in a long

4:31 in watching this film I really hope you

4:34 like it I loved it I'm an adventurer it

4:36 kind of sums up my life and what it's

4:38 like to just throw caution to the wind

4:40 and just go go go go go I mean you can

4:43 only do this life thing one time so get

4:45 out there and do it like Walter midi

4:49 right here you don't have to climb a

4:50 mountain but you can do something you've

4:52 been wanting to do just go do it just

4:55 like Walter midy right here Walter midy

4:58 it was a 19 39 short story that became a

5:02 1947 film so a long time ago the

5:05 original film so this is a remake this

5:07 is actually not the paper but the movie

5:10 of Walter midy Walter midi right there

5:15 is actually a remake of the 1947 movie

5:19 but it's nothing like the original 1947

5:21 it's got its own little spin on it it's

5:23 got a little bin Stiller humor in it but

5:26 it's not really a comedy in my opinion

5:28 it's one of those things that just sinks

5:29 into your heart sinks into your head and

5:32 it's fascinatingly shot like the way

5:34 it's filmed the cinematography in this

5:36 is awesome the music is completely

5:39 awesome the places they go he goes to

5:41 Iceland he goes to

5:43 Greenland which is really cool I think

5:45 the whole movie is pretty fantastic one

5:47 of my favorite scenes in the movie he's

5:49 trying to go to find this guy who's on

5:51 this ship in the middle of this huge

5:53 ocean the only way you can get there is

5:55 this drunk pilot of a helicopter says

5:58 I'm leaving in 5 minutes you can see see

5:59 this in the trailer this isn't a spoiler

6:01 it's in the trailer so Ben Stiller's

6:03 character Walter midy has to make the

6:05 conscious decision right there at that

6:07 minute to jump on this helicopter in the

6:09 love interest in his movie he's

6:11 imagining her playing guitar David Bowie

6:16 playing a David Bowie song and Ben

6:18 Stiller gets all excited the music's

6:20 going over it ground control to Major

6:22 Tom was the song and the way it's shot

6:25 the way it's filmed the slow motions the

6:26 wide angle all that combined of this guy

6:29 here here getting his gumption up and

6:33 running to that helicopter definitely

6:35 one of the coolest scenes I've seen in a

6:37 movie in a long time I'm very particular

6:38 about movies I don't really see really a

6:40 whole lot of new movies but this one

6:42 stuck out and that scene is my favorite

6:44 scene in the movie if you seen it leave

7:23 stuff in the movie at the end of the

7:25 movie which is awesome so go check it

8:17 everything this movie I'm looking at

8:19 this as a glass half full movie this

8:22 glass is more than like this is like 90%

8:25 full not 10% empty so forget what the

8:28 critics say why watch it on your own if

8:30 Ben Stiller if you're watching this for

8:31 some reason if this video gets to Ben

8:33 Stiller great job on this movie buddy

8:37 not only directing it but producing it

8:39 and also starring in it I loved it let
