0:03 number one of losing some weight
0:10 dropping some pounds a challenge I am
0:13 presenting to myself to eat better and
0:17 drastically reduce the amount of
0:21 consumption that I have done for 40 plus
0:26 days ending the previous series in
0:29 starting a 40 day adventure for myself
0:35 to go on a diet
0:37 I'll explain more I'm inviting you to

0:51 packed up in the backpack of it head out
0:54 on the bike this has been a long time in
0:58 the making it has been years since I
1:02 stepped on a scale
1:08 that's going to change going to the
1:08 store now you can see what was the
1:11 Crystal Cathedral over there currently
1:15 an orange temperature is about 70
1:18 degrees put the sign yep right there
1:28 leaving orange and now technically and
1:28 Garden Grove after I purchase said
1:30 product I'll head back home a little
1:33 later on I might do a couple other
1:35 things and then weigh myself which will
1:38 keep me motivated and also give me a
1:42 starting point for one reason or another
1:44 I never realized there was a park over
1:48 here Abraham Lincoln old school look at
1:53 that Rockies the pattern along the
1:56 ground there is interesting Harbor
1:59 Chapman doesn't look as if koco's bakery
2:03 and restaurant is currently open
2:06 wouldn't matter anyway to me I am it's
2:09 gonna be a hard habit to break
2:11 not getting lunch takeout I've been
2:15 doing it for over the last 40-plus days
2:19 now it's time for 40-plus days being a
2:24 little more careful well careful is not
2:26 the appropriate word but now eating less
2:29 much less got my bike all locked up
2:32 there now this entrance is not
2:35 accessible you have to go in through the
2:38 other one down there I'm not gonna take
2:39 the camera in I'm just gonna go in real
2:41 quick and get a scale and come back out
2:45 waiting head and also purchased a couple
2:47 bottles of water which is going to be
2:49 pretty much par for the course of what
2:51 I'm going to be drinking for the next
2:53 month and a half
2:56 oh yeah also they had two different
2:59 scales available out of the probably 25
3:03 items that were sold out the other one
3:07 was an open box there's only one of each
3:09 this was that this was the only one that
3:11 was sealed so went with this one runs on
3:13 triple-a batteries which should be
3:16 pretty easy to replace I don't know
3:17 probably over the time period I probably
3:20 won't the batteries probably won't go
3:23 out but it's called a balance scale
3:26 right here and the weight that is shown
3:29 there on the front as an example is
3:32 probably considerably less than a half
3:34 of what mine is at the moment $29.99 for
3:39 this plus tax and a couple bucks for the
3:42 water so it was like less than 35 bucks
3:44 for all this
3:54 all right I think this will fit my
3:54 backpack
4:04 the glasses are fogging up quite a bit
4:04 there are a couple of different couple
4:07 of different motives on why I'm gonna be
4:10 partaking on this quest for myself I
4:14 have done this in the past the last time
4:16 was well over five or six years ago
4:20 don't have the exact date in my mind I
4:25 rolodex of my mind my eye a calendar of
4:28 my mind but it's been it's been a while
4:31 I have not stepped on one of these
4:35 probably half well I guess a half of a
4:38 decade but it's been it's been less than
4:40 that's but it's definitely in the years
4:43 growing up I was always very fed up
4:46 until us probably bout 27 or 28 years
4:48 old and currently now 45 years old but
4:51 up until 27 or 28 there's a there's a
4:54 real beehive of activity happening over
4:57 there I was probably about 175 180
5:00 pounds never went over 180 pounds I'm 6
5:04 foot 3 inches tall if I could still
5:07 remember when I had 200 pounds I'm
5:08 thinking I'm getting heavy if I could be
5:12 200 pounds again I would be doing a
5:14 cartwheel I would be juggling doing a
5:17 cartwheel doing a backflip out of
5:19 excitement when you're younger you think
5:22 what do you realize what overweight
5:26 really is compared to as you get older
5:28 yeah it seems like you could just eat
5:30 something that is non healthy and gain
5:33 two pounds instantly after the age of
5:37 you know 35 40 years old and I have
5:40 heard you know 50 when I approach that
5:43 will it'll be even more dramatic once it
5:46 gets to that stage so gonna change
5:49 things up not always about the numbers
5:52 it's about feeling good now as stated I
5:57 just got done completed as of yesterday
6:00 going out and focusing on Southern
6:03 California you know iconic places local
6:07 hangouts some mom-and-pop restaurants
6:10 and such and really none of me know
6:15 feeling poorly when it comes to you know
6:19 just kind of feeling like ha man I'm
6:21 kind of dragging a little bit from how
6:23 much I've been eating really none of
6:26 that series affected how any of that in
6:29 any way it started way before it was
6:32 going on for months if not years before
6:36 that in fact what I had been doing
6:40 recently in the previous previous weeks
6:43 eating less than I had been you know
6:46 eating the one big meal and then having
6:48 a salad at night so in reality feel
6:52 better than I have I'm starting I'm kind
6:54 of already getting a little bit of a
6:55 head start
7:01 but that did not help realize I was
7:01 eating burgers I was eating pizza I was
7:03 eating tacos drinking some sodas here
7:07 and there gonna I'm gonna cut sodas out
7:08 I'm gonna try to cut as much juice out
7:11 I'm gonna try to trim back on the coffee
7:13 if I do very little creamer sugar I'm
7:16 just gonna try to drink this I'm not
7:17 saying I might get some you know
7:19 caffeinated withdrawals so I might have
7:24 to you know take a sip or two until
7:26 those the headaches go away but other
7:28 than that it's gonna be all h2o okay
7:34 let's get back let's get back on the
7:35 bike take a ride
7:42 that's going to be a that's going to be
7:42 a tough one
9:01 I've noticed it's a lot of the local
9:01 parks why I am really I am really
9:03 silhouetted out at the moment but a lot
9:06 of these local parks are some workout
9:09 equipment out here in the elements under
9:11 well this is not really in the shades
9:13 and the Sun but instead of going to a
9:15 gym you could just go outdoors to get
9:17 some fresh air
9:18 well where you going I've never taken
9:23 this path before that's why it's called
9:28 a basin Park because there's water right
9:32 there also this will not be a continuous
9:35 everyday showing you know what I'm doing
9:40 what I'm eating me working out me riding
9:43 the bike I'm gonna be doing a lot of
9:45 other things not just focusing on the
9:51 task at hand just consider this an
9:56 announcement at the end of the 40 days
9:58 I'll pepper in some updates you know
10:02 every few days every week or so this is
10:04 more of an announcement at the end of
10:06 the 40 I will give you the tallied total
10:09 of how much I've lost and if I choose to
10:12 you know pick an episode where I do
10:14 focus on the subject matter you know
10:17 over the course of it but there's gonna
10:18 be a lot of other there's a lot of
10:20 things are opening so I will be you know
10:22 featuring other content as well but on
10:25 the days where I do a weigh in I'll show
10:27 myself riding the bike kind of give an
10:29 explanation of you know what I've been
10:32 doing the process and whatnot
10:35 not sure if I'm doing this correctly or
10:38 not am I supposed to be on the dirt path
10:41 there or am I supposed to be on the
10:44 concrete here it's a full loop around
10:52 this lake
11:10 it's rather busy a lot of people on the
11:10 pathway they are kind of stepped away
11:11 took my mask off you know away from
11:13 every all the activity just to gets them
11:16 just skittle the lair it's a little
11:17 toast it's a little warm out today
11:18 started off cool Sun is definitely out
11:21 what a great idea that do a little
11:23 hiking and walking and as you go along
11:26 you have your choice of exercise
11:28 equipment some of these I've never
11:29 utilized before nor do I really know if
11:32 I want to be if I want to be using them
11:35 under the current another current time
11:37 frame that's why you really don't see
11:39 anyone these are called Tai Chi wheels
11:42 and what does this do is this some sort
11:45 of sit-up mechanism no you put your
11:48 shoulders under here and hoist it upward
11:52 the instructions which should be there
11:55 kind of kind of weather-worn pretty sure
11:58 that's what that is that made it onto
12:02 the dirt path and the reason I am
12:05 wearing this even while on the bicycle
12:09 is right now I'm not near anyone but you
12:12 pass a lot of people and in this region
12:16 I believe it changes from day to day but
12:21 in you're supposed to be supposed to
12:22 have it on you know when you're out and
12:24 about
12:24 now you come into contact just walking
12:26 by and riding by people so I just do
12:30 that but when I'm by myself
12:31 obviously at home okay I don't know if
12:35 I'm supposed to be on the dirt okay I'm
12:37 like go back on the concrete it's a
12:38 little smoother ride here's a stair
12:40 stepper of some sort and okay this is
12:43 for sit-ups the one there on the far end
12:45 that's for sit-ups and this is for a
12:47 stiff stepping or you could just walk up
12:50 a flight of stairs back home now
12:53 unpacking this the moment of truth is
12:58 near the moment the wake-up call it's
13:06 about to happen
13:07 shoes off obviously clothes on
13:12 here goes
13:15 oh my gosh it's adjusting to 81.5 let's
13:31 give that another try stepping on with
13:33 the other foot first to see if it makes
13:35 any difference you know I just want to
13:38 make sure everything is hold on let me
13:43 get my 280 1.7 take best of three looks
13:51 like it's probably gonna be around the
13:53 same get adjusted their feet kind of
13:57 squared give it to me two eighty two
14:06 point two okay let's go from around four
14:10 it might be because I'm kind of hunching
14:12 over take turn on turn on it might be
14:19 because I'm kind of hunching over I'll
14:20 stand more straight up like this okay
14:24 I'm not moving I'm just gonna
14:39 it's because I'm shifting to 82.6 I'm
14:39 gonna round it off look what a little
14:41 lower went a little high burner put it
14:43 at 282 even I'm also holding the camera
14:48 while on the scale so that adds a little
14:50 bit and you know have the bell to have
14:53 pants it was a little before blue below
14:56 blue below 10 to 80 is what I'm going
15:03 for it was one that was a little bit few
15:05 ounces below and a few ounces above but
15:07 after all those I'm gonna put it at 282
15:10 the heaviest I've ever been in my entire
15:14 life as far as documented may have been
15:17 a little heavier but didn't jump on a
15:19 scale I got a lot I got a lot of work to
15:22 do a long ways to go I am 6 foot 3
15:25 inches tall just to give you a little
15:28 perspective when I was around 250 I
15:33 thought I need to lose a few pounds very
15:36 obvious that adding another 30 on to the
15:40 250 it's time definitely something that
15:46 needs to happen been putting it off for
15:48 a very very long time as stated I have
15:52 done this before there have been moments
15:55 in my life when I have dropped quite a
15:59 bit of weight and that is going to
16:00 happen again the whole purpose of
16:03 documenting this in a video and sharing
16:06 it with anyone that either stumbles on
16:09 it out there in the YouTube world is to
16:14 you know to give myself a grasp on
16:16 something to give me something to look
16:19 back on if I fail if I accomplish it I
16:24 have a better chance of accomplishing
16:26 something if I state it if it's just a
16:31 casual I might do that it's not gonna
16:33 happen
16:34 you have to 100% devote your mind set to
16:38 something and that is why I am putting
16:41 this out there
16:42 as I express I will reiterate this will
16:45 not be something I am showing on a daily
16:48 basis back to the regular scheduled
16:52 programming here on this channel that
16:55 means I'm going to mix things up quite a
16:57 bit more than they have been you know I
17:00 did the food series that was a lot of
17:03 fun and side note there are a lot of LA
17:06 and Orange County spots I did not get to
17:09 check out I had a laundry list the
17:12 places I wanted to go but in the future
17:15 I might pepper some in but not until
17:19 this 42 main go longer than 40 days what
17:21 I'm stating 40 days and I will be you
17:25 know showing on a graph I will write it
17:28 down I will put it next to the
17:29 refrigerator so every morning I see it I
17:32 will weigh myself every day even though
17:34 I will not state what it is in each
17:36 episode following episodes every week or
17:39 so I will chime in and let you know the
17:41 progress and on that fortieth day will
17:45 give you the running tally day by day on
17:48 a list that I will prescribe you know
17:52 prescribe scrub script out for all to
17:56 see including myself that's going to do
