0:03 that name says it all on the overpass
0:03 Orlando Orlando oh oh Orlando in
0:07 comparison to a lot of other cities
0:08 around the US Orlando is rather new but
0:12 it's progressing very nicely there it is
0:17 my parking receipt you always got to pay
0:19 to park in most downtowns after about 30
0:22 minutes of driving around downtown
0:24 populated areas I usually give up and
0:25 just pay a few dollars for parking lots
0:28 Plus Orlando the roads kind of wacky
0:30 there's a lot of bus lanes only one-way
0:33 directions not a lot of parking but they
0:35 do have some very cool murals along
0:39 these walls that guy right there kind of
0:41 looks like a
0:42 1980s Val
0:44 Kilmer to a degree and why talk through
0:48 a tin can when you can use a cell phone
0:52 or that's not really a cell phone that's
0:55 kind of like something out of Secret of
0:57 My Success what a great movie Michael J
0:59 fox the limo or woman in the back seat
1:01 flirting with him rolls the window
1:03 down one thing this state is known for
1:06 are its bodies of water but you got to
1:07 be careful because these guys are
1:09 normally looming around them in fact
1:13 there's a security guard there trying to
1:15 protect me from those gators this guy
1:17 however does not need protection he
1:21 ain't
1:22 scared do they this those have those
1:24 bumper stickers remember those bumper
1:26 stickers ain't scared I don't need no
1:28 sticker I got it tattooed on my arm
1:31 today I really want to check out what's
1:33 inside the Old Courthouse there in front
1:35 of me it's now the Orange County
1:38 Regional History Center and there is a
1:40 globe in front of it as well but this is
1:43 no ordinary Globe this one is filled
1:46 with fish which might be a premonition
1:49 that one day we will be overrun by the
1:52 fishes and I'm just noticing that along
1:55 the banister up there they've actually
1:58 taken down the courthouse sign and
2:00 replaced it with the History Center sign
2:02 they've changed the engraving you don't
2:04 normally see that and here we have the
2:06 world's
2:07 smallest
2:09 alligator we oh no that was a lizard man
2:12 I thought it was I thought I was on to
2:13 something I thought I stumbled on I
2:14 thought it was one of those guys but I
2:16 was wrong that's what the building
2:17 looked like in 1927 Orlando Florida the
2:20 city beautiful that's the nickname of
2:23 this
2:24 place I've never really figured out why
2:26 I mean I know it's aesthetically nice to
2:29 look at which makes it beautiful but is
2:31 there a deeper meaning is there a deeper
2:33 reasoning for why it's titled that I've
2:35 been in here once before but it was many
2:37 years ago and it was extremely rushed I
2:41 want to actually take my time and see
2:43 what there is to be
2:45 seen right here look at this Central
2:48 Florida history is there check this out
2:51 this is a photo of the man that the
2:53 sculpture out front is modeled after
2:57 that's the guy with the tattoo one
2:58 prominent thing in this next back of the
3:00 woods of course is NASA and they have a
3:03 Mercury capsule here and a little
3:07 control board that you can Tinker around
3:09 with holy cow that's the master
3:12 switch let's do this oh yeah I'm in the
3:16 elevator now going to the fourth floor
3:18 the oldest history is at the top I'm
3:20 going to work my way down admission in
3:22 here is $7 and it gives you an array
3:25 from start to finish on the beginnings
3:27 of the state leading up to the Mecca of
3:30 Tourism that it is now and they have a
3:33 tree that just spins around it's a it's
3:35 a spinning Bush and if you are a boat
3:38 operator be very careful because these
3:40 little guys could be below you you don't
3:43 want to hurt them they go into the
3:44 history of the simal Indians and as you
3:47 walk out of this structure there is a
3:50 map an old map of the state well before
3:53 some of the towns weren't even listed on
3:55 there yet as time progressed sugar cane
3:57 became very popular and this couple is
4:00 on a date pulling on sugar cane of
4:05 course back then it was a courtship they
4:07 would call it courting but this is taffy
4:09 made out of sugar what an interesting
4:12 way to spend the evening this gives real
4:14 meaning to being back in the saddle
4:18 again I think this is this might be too
4:20 small for me we found a thin old cow at
4:22 the edge of a thicker thorn bush she was
4:25 a mean
4:27 Beast bck challenge Roper and put your
4:30 mark on her I'm learning about the story
4:34 of bone nizzle and of course one of the
4:36 most popular and largest crops oranges
4:40 you can't think of Florida without these
4:43 tasty Delicacies grown on trees I sure
4:46 do need some vitamin oh it's made of
4:49 plastic I really love this picture of
4:52 this child who's very disappointed by
4:54 the freeze damage on all this fruit
4:58 that's just a really cool old black and
5:00 white photo if you are a fan of Walt
5:02 Disney World you certainly know that guy
5:05 the orange bird but before Walt Disney
5:07 kind of adopted it as its own Florida
5:11 really promoted it kind of like as a
5:14 moderate type of mascot in Florida not
5:16 only for oranges but also for another
5:20 agricultural Marvel and I I guess I
5:23 would be saying that correctly right
5:24 well yeah it's not exactly I guess it
5:26 could be considered agricultural because
5:27 of all the place around here and what
5:29 your name t my name is TG Le I think I'm
5:32 I know who you are oh I bet you have sir
5:35 see I've been serving milk and dairy
5:36 products around here for lots of years
5:39 absolutely walking from the fourth to
5:41 the third floor is the original
5:44 courtroom there's something very
5:46 interesting there I want to show you I'm
5:47 really hoping it has not been
5:50 removed but carved in the desk over
5:53 here is something very interesting this
5:56 was the location of some very famous Tri
6:00 but one in particular of a guy that will
6:04 live on in infamy that's sa right there
6:08 as unbelievable as it is Ted Bundy
6:13 carved his name etched it right here in
6:17 the side and they
6:19 have placed a plastic cover over it to
6:23 preserve it because that
6:27 is pretty incred there is a group of
6:31 school kids doing a tour in here you can
6:33 hear them in the background they're
6:35 probably not going to bring them in here
6:38 and share this bit of history with them
6:40 probably not definitely not the happiest
6:43 bit of history in the world but history
6:47 nonetheless and to think that the judge
6:50 sat right here where I'm
6:53 standing overlooking the
6:59 courtroom Ted Bundy was sitting right
6:59 there
7:00 that's
7:08 wow it's pretty wild to think
7:08 about the jury
7:11 here of
7:13 12 three rows of four
7:15 chairs and the
7:18 onlookers sitting behind the
7:22 lawyers
7:24 wow incredible this is a photo circa
7:28 1960 he was was on trial in
7:31 1978 for the murder of Kimberly leech
7:35 it's a very unusual feeling to be
7:37 sitting in the same exact
7:40 spot the only thing that makes it a
7:42 little less
7:45 creepy are the school kids out there I'm
7:47 just going to put this chair I'm just
7:49 going to I'm just going to put that
7:51 back where I found
8:04 isn't that a little little we little
8:04 crazy
8:05 that his name is still
8:08 left etched in the
8:11 wood there's a model of downtown you can
8:15 see the airport over here if you look
8:18 closely down here Disney World and right
8:22 there Universal
8:23 Studios some of the outlet malls check
8:27 this out I never realized that there was
8:29 a place by this name at one time
8:34 promoted as a tourist spot in Florida
8:37 interesting on the corner of colonial
8:39 and orange in the ' 50s sat this sign
8:41 this Arrow leading to downtown and they
8:44 have preserved it the actual sign is
8:48 inside here that now that's cool here's
8:51 an explanation of how long it takes for
8:53 things to decompose in the environment a
8:56 diaper 450 years oh check this out if
9:00 you're drinking squirt out of a bottle
9:02 it's going to take a million years to
9:05 decompose that's a heck of a long time
9:06 this is an exhibit called Plastics
9:09 unwrapped and whoa they have a light
9:30 bright aw Adam the wood
9:30 not bad for a short time frame of
9:32 creation I like it that place was
9:34 awesome especially if you are a fan of
9:36 the history of Florida from everything
9:38 to the beginnings all the way up through
9:41 the theme parks whatever it is when it
9:43 comes to Florida that you're into they
9:46 probably have it in there
9:47 including a little serial killer
9:51 memorabilia who knew it's pretty nice
9:53 I'm slimming
9:54 down I've been slimming down
9:57 lately oh wait
10:00 wait a second how misleading I was just
10:03 sitting in a bigger chair that's all
10:06 there we go see this side still says
10:09 Orange County courthouse and how
10:12 incredible the dark history that's in
10:15 that courtroom the fascinating thing I
10:17 wanted to show you was that engraving
10:20 pretty wild right the new courthouse is
10:23 directly in front of us and if you look
10:26 very closely up there you will see a
10:30 plethora of birds
10:34 always circling around the top they are
10:36 always there you know what that means
10:40 Hitchcock would
10:46 be okay that might have been a little
10:46 little much my
10:58 apologies see what I did there and
10:58 speaking of Infamous
11:00 trials this is where all the Casey
11:04 Anthony stuff was happening and it looks
11:07 to be judging by the news cruise over
11:10 there something else is of importance is
11:13 going down I technically don't think I'm
11:16 allowed to drive up in here but I'm
11:18 going to anyway why not right let let's
11:23 see what's
11:24 happening we'll do our own Columbo like
11:28 research skills
11:42 well I learned
11:42 nothing I learned nothing well that's
11:44 not entirely true Tim taught me that
11:48 you're more likely to be killed by a cow
11:50 than you are a
11:51 shark that's what he says seriously like
11:55 there's a
11:55 little little get together little
11:58 gathering going on down here here also
11:59 that billboard says someday 70 will be
12:03 the new 40 so will 40 be the new 10 if
12:08 that's true that means in one year I'll
12:11 be becoming a
12:13 teenager heck yeah check that
12:16 out there's a guy on the side of the
12:18 road in a van and he's selling bonsai
12:22 trees or at least the side of his van
12:24 says
12:26 Bonsai that's pretty cool I've never
12:27 seen that before a mobile Bonsai dealer
12:30 okay I've officially decided whenever I
12:32 get a home base again whenever I move
12:35 into a house or an apartment in the
12:37 future whether it's 3 years from now 2
12:39 years 1 year 1 month one week or
12:42 tomorrow I'm going to get a bonsai tree
12:45 hold me to it remind me cuz I'm going to
12:48 make that happen look at this guy and
12:51 George I still have
12:55 him
12:56 Vlog over
