0:16 welcome everyone Adam the woo here top
0:16 of the morning to
0:30 you it's my second chance daily Vlog
0:30 channnel it's the daily
0:51 woo I don't know about you but I think
0:51 this waitress is a little stiff
1:27 Oklahoma this is an old jail cell and
1:27 even more bizarre than that is the class
1:30 of 1939 all the students their names are
1:34 right here so I guess the high school
1:36 which used to be in town was torn down
1:39 and they moved this placard which looks
1:42 kind of like a tombstone is placed in
1:45 front of this old school jail
2:14 wow look at all these rusted out old
2:14 classic cars just sitting
2:17 here grass growing up around them just
2:22 forgotten it's
2:28 crazy oh how's it
2:28 going for
3:14 Williams and they have one of the old
3:14 school fire
3:26 poles I'm a real fire they even have a
3:26 replica Old Bridge I love these old
3:28 timey Bridges
3:39 no girls
3:39 allowed that's what the sign says right
3:41 there that's what the sign says this guy
3:43 clearly did not obey the sign there's a
3:45 girl
4:06 I hate snakes ew what the heck is that
4:06 yes ladies and gentlemen there still are
4:09 video stores in existence I wonder what
4:11 the security is like in that
4:15 place that's what I'm talking about lawn
4:17 mower in the back of the trunk small
4:20 town life that's what's
4:26 up sign off the interstate said they're
4:26 supposed to have a rock Grotto in this
4:28 tiny little town
4:30 I guess this is it right here in this
4:35 Cemetery it's
4:44 locked I don't know if that's the grotto
4:44 the town is promoting there's Graves
4:46 inside of
4:48 there would they be promoting that off
4:50 the freeway go get them dog go get him
4:54 go get him go get him go get that guy go
4:58 get him hey do you know where the Rock
4:59 Grotto is I'm sorry I don't oh you know
5:03 where the rock Grotto is the rock Grotto
5:06 in town you know where that is the sign
5:08 pointed that way but I couldn't find
5:10 it it's like a little sign over
5:13 there yeah I don't think I don't think
5:15 many people stoping for gas are thank
5:26 you at first I thought that was the
5:26 Oscar Meer Wier mobile but I was wrong
5:29 it's a water the trade wins in what's
5:32 the significance and importance of this
5:35 place now you wouldn't think of it by
5:37 looking at it but Elvis Presley stayed
5:40 right here on four separate
5:49 occasions notice the numbers on the
5:49 doors how they all have the same type of
5:51 emblems all of them except that one up
5:56 there is a little bit different
5:59 this is where the king stayed Elvis
6:02 Presley himself in this room seriously
6:06 who would have ever guessed that Elvis
6:09 stayed
6:30 here exit 88 exit
6:30 88 88 exits per
6:42 hour this building was built in the late
6:44 1920s but really did not get popular
6:46 until the 1940s When a Woman by the name
6:49 of Lucille Hammond bought the place
6:52 raised her family and her children right
6:54 here on this property on Route 66 and
6:58 this is way before
7:00 the interstates came in and this was a
7:02 very thriving area once the interstate
7:05 came in all business on Route 66 dried
7:08 up but the building Still
7:15 Remains look at the stained
7:15 glasses front door and you can even see
7:19 inside the
7:21 windows look at that that is some
7:23 serious history right
7:26 here I love this stuff so much that's
7:29 where where the family lived up on the
7:30 top floor Lucille died in the year 2000
7:34 but someone brought the property and has
7:37 fixed it up a little bit so it's still
7:38 here as a momento of Route 66 pass
7:41 goodbye
7:42 lucil we'll never forget you what the
7:46 heck
8:03 history is very important to me I think
8:03 it needs to be respected and preserved
8:07 and that's why I do these videos not
8:08 only because I'm excited about visiting
8:10 places and learning new things every day
8:13 but also to express to other people who
8:16 might not know a certain backstory or
8:19 certain information that's why I do
8:30 this welcome to Hinton Oklahoma
8:30 now I don't normally do this but I'm
8:33 making the exception right now in the
8:37 Vlog just by sheer coincidence I was
8:39 checking comments this morning and
8:40 someone left a comment someone I have
8:42 never met someone that watches these
8:43 Vlogs wanted to know if something still
8:47 existed in Hinton that they remembered
8:50 from their youth right here downtown on
8:52 Main Street smack dab in front of the
8:57 barber shop is a bar Harbor shop pole
9:01 his grandfather made in the
9:04 1950s out of an old water tank now to me
9:07 and everyone else watching this video
9:09 this might just seem like a cool
9:11 creation but I know to you it holds a
9:14 Sentimental place in your heart so
9:16 hopefully you enjoyed seeing this and it
9:19 put a smile on your face
9:41 the eloquent riding of The White Buffalo
9:41 should they be riding down the
9:43 interstate with their trunk open like
9:45 that what the heck I never knew there
9:47 was a g Brooks Boulevard straight ahead
9:49 is Oklahoma City it's kind of exciting
9:52 to see a little bit more civilization
9:54 because since I've been on I40 as I
9:57 crossed over the Oklahoma State l
9:59 I haven't really seen any big buildings
10:02 there's some big buildings over there in
10:04 downtown I almost said Los Angeles
10:06 that's not Los Angeles that's Oklahoma
10:09 City I love Oklahoma City wow these
10:12 Oklahoma
10:13 roads
10:15 beautiful that's a good way to promote
10:17 your bail bonds business little Classic
10:19 Car action in a parking lot okoklahoma
10:22 there's the Bricktown Ballpark and
10:24 there's the man himself Mr Mickey
10:27 Manel right there it's good they got
10:30 shaved ice the last thing you want is
10:32 ice with a beard check this out Flaming
10:35 Lips alley named after the band they
10:39 have an alley named after them here is a
10:42 monument here in Oklahoma City that they
10:43 have erected in honor of the land rush
10:47 this
10:48 horse and the guy riding the horse have
10:51 had better days Adam the woo whoa you
10:55 can take a boat through the land rush
10:58 Memorial
11:00 look the horses can't cross the stream
11:02 but that pontoon boat sure the heck can
11:05 I can't even imagine what it was like
11:06 back then during the land rush on that
11:08 specific moment when they opened up all
11:10 that land and everyone just stormed in
11:12 over the line to claim their land must
11:15 have been full panic mode goodbye
11:18 City till next time I'm not stopping to
11:21 eat in here but I want to show you
11:23 something right around the corner of the
11:26 building it is a huge Sonic
11:30 drink gargantuan thirst quenching
11:33 goodness I know you really couldn't
11:35 gauge the scale of that but it was like
11:37 15 ft tall Patrick
11:57 swayy I definitely can tell I'm going
11:57 farther east cuz it's getting humer is
12:01 that even a word
12:02 humer well it is look at my glasses
12:05 they're fogging up yes check it out old
12:07 school dryer I get excited about the
12:10 most simple things when you pull in this
12:11 rest stop it's a one-way Direction so
12:13 you park here and then when you exit you
12:16 go that way it's pretty like
12:17 self-explanatory do they really need a
12:20 huge gargantuan 14t tall exit sign we
12:25 get it I'm 6' 3 in tall and I just
12:28 walked under the bottom of that thing
12:30 it's
12:37 massive this is the hometown of singer
12:37 Woody Guthrie who his political views
12:40 were very controversial but there's
12:42 really not a whole heck of a lot else in
12:44 this town that they can Embrace so they
12:47 have a statue here for him are those
12:55 patunas and from information I found
12:55 online I think his former home is right
12:58 up here on the right
12:59 I don't know if walking through this
13:01 grass is the best
13:03 idea but check this out you can see the
13:06 foundation here's the bricks from the
13:07 foundation of where the home was right
13:10 here someone has taken this old tree and
13:12 carved this land is your land and a
13:16 guitar across the
13:22 top I've been to a lot of cemeteries in
13:22 my day and seen a lot of Graves and a
13:25 lot of headstones and tombstones and I'm
13:28 looking for what could be the most
13:30 unusual one ever this is a lot more
13:34 difficult to find than I thought not a
13:35 lot of information online about where
13:37 the exact spot is okay I found it
13:42 prepare yourself now for the most
13:43 unusual grave site I have ever
13:53 seen Barbara Sue Man passed away in
13:53 2005 and the tombstone reads her humor
13:57 lives on and there is a time expired
14:00 parking meter on The Headstone
14:08 itself I've never seen anything this
14:08 creative before in a cemetery and it's
14:11 really hard to see but if you look
14:13 closely in the quarter slot there is a
14:16 quarter in
14:19 there you got to wonder who put the
14:21 money in there and I didn't even realize
14:24 it but some of Woody Guthrie's family is
14:26 buried in the same Cemetery now Woody
14:29 Guthrie himself when he passed away was
14:32 cremated but they do have a tombstone
14:34 here with a cartoon character while he
14:37 was alive he drew this little cartoon
14:39 character right here and they placed
14:42 that on the tombstone as well and you
14:44 can see people have left coins guitar
14:48 piics right here in the same Cemetery
14:51 which isn't very
14:52 far right over there is the parking
14:56 meter Tombstone another thing that's
14:58 interesting about about this town is
15:00 there are three count them three water
15:04 towers so strange normally there's only
15:06 one water tower maybe two but you rarely
15:09 see them side by side next to each other
15:12 this one has three water towers in this
15:15 town I was really trying to find a good
15:16 spot to fly the Drone to get the shot
15:19 those water towers you see that
15:21 convenience store back there there was
15:23 no cars in the parking lot I thought it
15:25 was abandoned so I parked right smack
15:27 dab in the middle of the parking lot
15:30 took the Drone out got it all ready to
15:32 go up and then a car pulled in and
15:33 looked at me so confused as to why I was
15:37 blocking the business because I thought
15:39 it was abandoned cuz there's like hardly
15:41 anyone out and about right now so I
15:43 ended up coming over to this K refactor
15:46 parking lot that's closed today and I
15:48 flew the Drone from there kind of funny
15:50 the awkward stairs I just got if you
15:52 build it they will corn
16:10 I have not paid less than $2 a gallon in
16:10 probably a year and a half take that
16:13 California however it's super humid here
16:16 and the sun's going
16:18 down I don't like humidity so paying a
16:21 little extra for gas might be worth it
16:23 by the way this is the slowest moving
16:26 gas pump I've ever seen it's just
16:28 inkling along Penny by Penny I prepaid
16:32 $30 it's moving as slow as Oklahoma
16:35 molasses wait a second do they have
16:38 molasses in
16:40 Oklahoma I got the gas pump to work
16:42 finally the cashier told me just go out
16:44 to the pump ungrip it count to 20 and
16:48 then repump it again and it should work
16:50 and she was right it worked I'm on the
16:53 road again look at that beautiful sunset
16:55 the day is coming to an end thanks for
16:58 watching I'll see you guys tomorrow
17:01 Vlog over
