Transcript
0:03
today I would like to talk about which
0:03
are my favorite Disney theme parks in
0:07
order well at least the 6 in the US I've
0:13
never been to the international ones
0:23
even though I love them all almost
0:23
equally there are definitely some
0:25
favorites gonna start with the least go
0:31
to the top I'm six to one count them
0:36
down welcome everyone the whoo here now
0:41
keep in mind these are just my opinions
0:43
based on nostalgia my life circumstances
0:49
memories everyone is not going to share
0:53
the exact thought pattern oh that's warm
0:59
and right out of the gate I will just
1:01
eliminate number 6 being Animal Kingdom
1:04
and number 5 being DC a Disney
1:08
California Adventure I enjoy going into
1:12
both of those places but not nearly as
1:16
much as the top 4 so even though it's
1:21
the top 6 it's really just a top top 4
1:25
I'm inviting you to join me I said just
1:28
ramble a bit shall you
2:06
yeah I should also mention that this is
2:06
a current time frame what are my faves
2:09
during this moment April of 2020
2:13
Hurley in my life would have been a
2:15
little bit of a different list but this
2:17
is current day and the fourth my fourth
2:22
favorite of all the Disney theme parks
2:24
might come is a little bit of a shock it
2:28
is Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World's
2:31
Magic Kingdom in Central Florida while
2:35
it is a great place to go for events for
2:39
example no Christmas Day New Year's
2:42
certain festivities that they are having
2:45
or if family and friends would like to
2:47
go there it is not my go-to first and
2:52
foremost granted they do have country
2:55
Bear Jamboree they do still have the
2:57
People Mover Carousel of Progress and a
3:01
few other ones that the Anaheim resort
3:04
does not have however I'm still putting
3:09
it that far down the list it is magical
3:13
it's not number one these are very tough
3:16
decisions trust me the entire wdw resort
3:22
is a wonderful place that I spend many
3:26
many many hours weeks months and years
3:31
at this is a pretty good book about the
3:34
first decade and even though it says
3:36
Disneyworld the first decade other than
3:38
basically the hotels resorts was there
3:42
Magic Kingdom look at that wonderful old
3:44
school logo there on the opening pages
3:49
some great photographs in here including
3:52
Cinderella Castle and Roy Walt's brother
3:57
giving the Opening Day speech Walt had
4:02
already passed on but his brother
4:04
carried the torch made sure it was
4:08
completed
4:10
that his brother's vision would be seen
4:14
through one of his brothers mini visions
4:18
they came to fruition and still live all
4:26
gotta love some pirates speaking of that
4:26
people-mover there it is as well as
4:30
space and some behind the scenes the
4:37
utili doors look at this cast of
4:40
characters just cruising around on the
4:43
cart they're even promoting Discovery
4:46
Island which no longer exists
4:48
the islands still there but it is not
4:52
accessible to park guests anymore
4:55
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and I
4:58
guess Mickey because he's wearing that
5:00
frontier-style cap didn't get the memo
5:03
about hats and glasses
5:05
you best remove them I'd really like to
5:09
see the dapper dan singing while on a
5:11
tandem style bicycle and who could
5:16
forget the Main Street Electrical Parade
5:18
and check this out back when 20,000
5:20
Leagues Under the Sea was still an
5:22
attraction here is them transporting one
5:26
of the vessels from California to
5:29
Florida one of the 12th I am so thankful
5:34
this still exists at least on the East
5:37
Coast
5:38
hold and strong a 10k one of the key
5:42
factors that separates the Florida
5:44
section away from the West Coast
5:46
counterpart resorts is space waltz
5:51
stated there's enough land here to hold
5:54
all the ideas and plans we could
5:56
possibly imagine
6:03
that's very true carries on to this day
6:03
and speaking of this gentleman in the
6:06
boat kinda looks like mr. Disney it's
6:11
not it kind of looks like him
6:20
very similar I've created shared and
6:20
continually develop a lot of memories at
6:23
this place in fact it was the first
6:24
Disney park I ever set foot in as a
6:27
young boy my mom took my family and
6:30
myself there probably helped install a
6:35
little nostalgia and love for the place
6:38
Florida's Magic Kingdom truly a
6:40
wonderful place and we're back in the
6:44
day you could see it tobacconist a
6:47
tobacco nice I love it here but moving
6:56
on staying in the same state of Florida
7:04
number three my third favorite of the
7:07
parks Hollywood studios which I will
7:11
always refer to in my head maybe not
7:14
verbally because it's been a while it's
7:17
been called that but MGM studios now if
7:20
you would have asked me what my favorite
7:21
park was back in 1991
7:24
- probably 97 the number one would have
7:28
been Disney's MGM studios and I still
7:32
hold it in high regards even though a
7:35
lot is gone a lot has reared its head on
7:39
that current property whether it be Toy
7:42
Story land whether it be galaxy's edge
7:45
Star Wars land there's a lot of goodness
7:49
there and a lot of memories a lot of
7:51
heavy memories for me it was the first
7:55
place I ever went where they showed me
7:58
how television and movies behind the
8:01
scenes were made in the first tram tour
8:04
I ever went on and I learned a lot I
8:07
loved that whole area of making movies
8:12
and how things are done little
8:14
behind-the-scenes look into Hollywood in
8:17
fact fun fact part of the reason I moved
8:20
on to Hollywood Boulevard years ago I've
8:22
moved out of there since now I'm down on
8:23
Orange
8:23
County but part of the reason I moved to
8:26
Hollywood is my love for MGM studios and
8:30
those facades based on the real-life
8:33
Hollywood counterparts kind of bizarre
8:37
but it's the truth even though the name
8:39
has changed I spent a heck of a lot of
8:42
time when I am in Florida visiting this
8:45
property great movie ride was my
8:47
favorite but I also thoroughly enjoy and
8:51
love Nicky's runaway railway it's a good
8:55
one
8:55
I'm just happy to be able to go back in
8:57
that building again so it's kind of a
9:00
combination of nostalgia and the way
9:02
things used to be by the way this was
9:06
given to me by a guest on the 30th
9:10
anniversary last year of the studios the
9:16
Hidden Mickey it's hard to see it
9:18
nowadays if you're looking from a
9:19
satellite view but there is a Hidden
9:22
Mickey in front of the Chinese Theatre
9:23
and was also given this napkin so a
9:28
combination of the past some very happy
9:32
and intense memories my love for what it
9:36
used to be and my happiness an approval
9:40
of what they're now putting in the place
9:44
you can always find me there on my
9:46
Florida visits all the time here's a
9:51
guide map I have from 1998 way before
9:56
galaxy's edge and Toy Story land the
10:00
earful tower still there catastrophe
10:03
Canyon up top backlot tour and that was
10:08
after Sunset Boulevard had been erected
10:11
over here and Tower of Terror came into
10:15
play you'll notice there is no rock and
10:17
roller coaster quite yet and the pathway
10:21
here where John Ritter did that opening
10:25
day promotional video right next to the
10:30
Brown Derby that's still there to this
10:33
day
10:34
for mr. Ritter open the park I could
10:39
really go on and on and on about this
10:43
place in the past and current day I'm
10:48
happy they've kept up with the old
10:49
theming but carried on new traditions
11:00
remember and continuing the magic pre
11:00
digital photographs number two it was
11:04
very close to number one number two
11:08
Epcot Center there is as with the other
11:13
parks there is a lot taking place the
11:16
future no pun intended
11:19
cuz they used to have your future world
11:22
even though they've kind of dropped that
11:24
name and they're phasing that out I am
11:26
very content with what is going to be
11:29
happening they're highly approve of
11:32
finally a little TLC a little love being
11:36
shown to a now back to being all
11:39
capitalized Epcot they drop the center
11:43
but they are giving a little nod to the
11:46
old-school by bringing it all back
11:48
capital e capital P capital C capital o
11:51
and capital T I know my face was a
11:54
little out of focus in that last frame
11:57
let's be realistic the poster that I got
11:59
at d23 a couple years ago is way more
12:02
important than my noggin if you have not
12:07
kept up with the renovations at all they
12:10
have already pretty much removed
12:12
communica West so communica is a thing
12:16
of the past however it will open up to a
12:20
more spacious area a visual of the land
12:24
journey to imagination and living C's
12:26
which is going to be pretty fantastic
12:29
when completed speaking of not completed
12:34
at the time of this guide map Norway was
12:40
still being built
12:46
universe of energy is being revamped
12:46
well a considerable revamp not even
12:50
close to what it was it's gonna be
12:52
guardians of the galaxy and while I love
12:56
the dinosaur scene like everyone else I
12:59
was not too too happy with the later
13:03
years and think something new is
13:08
something to look forward to I never
13:10
have and most likely never will lose my
13:13
love for this place
13:23
progress is inevitable but what a
13:23
feeling walking in and they're bringing
13:26
a lot of it back like the spires in
13:29
front of spaceship earth
13:37
don't call it a golf ball don't you dare
13:37
call it a cop
13:45
please don't spaceship earth under its
13:45
construction a hundred and eighty feet
13:49
in diameter and Rises some 18 stories
13:54
high I might be one of the few who truly
13:58
enjoy still going on imagination and
14:01
seeing figment it is nothing like it
14:04
used to be and if they ever decide to
14:05
revamp it I would not be opposed to
14:09
seeing this gentleman in there once
14:12
again but I still aboard the
14:15
transportation device and go through
14:24
sealed Figment who was kind of Epcot's
14:24
Mickey Mouse for a while
14:26
ah World Showcase it's what really
14:32
separates separates this from other
14:36
theme parks incredible walk around the
14:40
countries around the lagoon and the
14:41
American adventure which I highly
14:44
recommend if you haven't seen it to
14:47
check it out it's still active
14:50
groundbreaking animatronics absolutely
14:53
incredible show always a nice cruise
14:55
through the boat ride which is now three
14:58
cowboy heroes but in the Mexico pavilion
15:01
that Olmec head could still be seen as
15:05
you're passing passing the pyramid it's
15:08
on the left before you go through the
15:09
tunnel a lot of learning and imagination
15:12
went into Epcot and still does a very
15:16
good quote from Ray Bradbury the only
15:19
people I see who are successful at
15:20
changing world are right here people
15:23
with very special dreams of all the
15:26
groups in the world while everyone else
15:27
is busy talking Disney is doing the
15:31
stuff that's really gonna count that
15:34
brings me to number one on my list Sid
15:37
goes without saying without question
15:40
that it would be Walt's original Magic
15:43
Kingdom in Anaheim California Disneyland
15:50
there is a number of reasons why I live
15:53
in Southern California
15:55
the weather the movie and television
15:58
history in Los Angeles and not
16:03
discarding those other to the fact that
16:07
Disneyland is only a few miles from my
16:12
current resident I can be there in ten
16:14
minutes to the parking structure is a
16:18
wonderful thing I truly love Disneyland
16:23
the vibe the community the size of it
16:27
how easy it is to just be and ER around
16:30
and soak in the ambience the fact that
16:33
Walt Disney himself had his hand in
16:37
everything there in his creation prior
16:42
to 1955 and on opening day and up until
16:46
his passing and it has carried on even
16:49
though a lot has changed there is a lot
16:55
that is precisely the same currently it
17:02
is it's my favorite Disney park without
17:07
a doubt and while I am a pass holder to
17:10
both coasts and go regularly to west and
17:14
east
17:15
there's just something extra special
17:17
about walking in here in Orange County
17:27
it's tough to explain unless you've
17:30
experienced it on a regular basis either
17:33
a couple times a week
17:35
weekly even monthly you know more than 5
17:38
6 10 15 times a year you start to you
17:43
start to understand what I'm mentioning
17:46
and notice this Trey state's Magic
17:49
Kingdom some people do not agree that I
17:52
should ever call it the Magic Kingdom
17:55
and just say Disneyland a prior to 71
17:59
before Florida opened its rendition
18:03
that's what it was called
18:05
that is Sleeping Beauty Castle
18:08
not Cinderella Castle I own a couple of
18:12
really in-depth books as far as history
18:15
and photographs this one came out
18:17
relatively recently called Walt Disney's
18:21
Disneyland you can see it has a lot
18:25
going on there and this came out years
18:27
ago the first quarter century with thumb
18:31
through both of these I don't want the
18:33
public to see the world they live in
18:35
while they're at Disneyland I want them
18:38
to feel like they're in another world
18:49
and you do he had the vision to create a
18:49
19th century Main Street a lot of behind
18:53
the scenes here I held every other theme
18:58
park to this standard well not this
19:01
standard this is when it wasn't
19:03
completed but you know I mean the
19:04
official opening of the Grand Canyon
19:06
section there's Walt standing right
19:12
there to the entrance of the tunnel all
19:15
of these spots you can see when you
19:18
visit the park and you can match all of
19:19
them up where Walt stood and did you
19:23
know that mermaids used to hang out on
19:25
the rocks there and this submarine
19:30
Lagoon there goes you know the rest
19:37
on-site constantly making sure
19:40
everything was correct I know a lot of
19:43
people who have never been out to the
19:45
California Park because they think oh
19:48
it's just too small
19:49
why would I go to a smaller version I
19:53
want to go to the the main spot but this
19:59
was the creator of all of it he's
20:03
standing at these spots that still exist
20:07
in Anaheim
20:14
maybe it's just me but that's pretty
20:14
fantastic it has been said many times
20:16
that this is the last photograph of Walt
20:19
and Mickey together the firetruck which
20:27
still runs down Main Street USA still
20:31
does that same one now to this edition I
20:34
want to show everything that's in here
20:36
but some of it needs to be shown look at
20:41
this
20:42
pull out poster it's the first thing
20:47
when you open it up what one of the
20:49
first things years prior to DCA you
20:52
could just pull your classic car right
20:54
up to the front can't do that anymore
20:58
when it he wasn't at his Los Angeles
21:00
home or at the Studios in Burbank he was
21:04
camping out in his apartment above the
21:06
fire station which still exists to this
21:09
day and they placed a lantern a light in
21:13
the window looking out over Main Street
21:14
which even during these closures is
21:18
still on even though no guests are
21:20
currently in the park the lamps still on
21:24
this always blows my mind just being on
21:28
Main Street and Walt comes cruising by
21:31
on a vehicle signing autographs
21:36
can you imagine this is something I wish
21:39
they'd bring back real mountain climbers
21:41
on the side of the Matterhorn you don't
21:44
see that anymore take a look at Bob ger
21:46
here young Bob Gert shredding it through
21:50
the dirt in an auto Pia vehicle is
21:53
responsible for pretty much anything
21:54
that moves as far as on wheels or ride
21:57
vehicles in the park
21:59
gotta love Bob another photograph of
22:02
Walt in front of construction of small
22:04
world there's just so much in this book
22:07
I want to give it all away but this
22:10
thing is worth a purchase
22:16
I don't have this Mickey clock plug down
22:16
it doesn't really work
22:18
kind of works doesn't keep very good
22:20
time so I just unplugged it but it is
22:23
classic I have it I have it set to 1004
22:26
that's another subject matter but just
22:29
you might you might know why still
22:32
recalling how long the line was to get
22:35
this little figment from Epcot
22:37
thirty-fifth it was lengthy as is for a
22:41
lot of special edition merchandise
22:52
that's gonna do it for today if you're
22:52
new here please subscribe by doing so it
22:55

23:22
