0:32 Herzog filmed filmed primarily in Berlin

0:36 but however they filmed the very final

0:38 scene right here in Cherokee North

0:41 Carolina in this parking lot and across

0:45 the street and right here where this

0:48 Subway sandwich shop is and Fort

0:52 Tomahawk it's very bizarre that they

0:54 actually went from Berlin a Berlin film

0:57 came here to film the final scene

1:00 not really sure why they did that but my

1:02 opinion or my judgment on that might be

1:06 skewed or whatever but I have no idea

1:08 why they filmed it here maybe you guys

1:10 will know but the final scene happened

1:13 right here where the main character

1:16 actually took a stolen truck what kind

1:18 of truck was it a tow truck it was a tow

1:20 truck drove through the Smoky Mountains

1:23 pulled in right here kind of where my

1:25 van was parked right here went into a

1:29 sandwich shop which is now where Subway

1:31 was it was actually a little farther

1:33 over right here where this traditional

1:35 hands Art Gallery was this whole facade

1:38 was a little bit different now you can

1:40 follow along with this Vlog you see they

1:42 actually it says we Speck and de they

1:46 speak German that's very interesting

1:48 Berlin is bizarre it was a German

1:51 film very very un very interesting point

1:54 that you saw that also a very

1:56 interesting point is you can actually go

1:57 on YouTube just look up Dan in chicken

2:04 says final scene and you can follow

2:06 along with this Vlog as we take you to

2:09 the filming locations of the actual

2:12 final scene so he pulls in right here

2:14 Bruno pulls his truck in right here his

2:17 tow truck which is actually having some

2:19 problems with the engine there's a fire

2:22 burning in here after he gets done

2:23 eating a sandwich in there he walks over

2:27 here gets inside of his car the shot was

2:30 kind of like this inside the tow truck

2:32 cranks it up drives in a circle a couple

2:36 times right here in a circle they've

2:38 actually built a concrete area here

2:41 maybe because so many people were trying

2:42 to imitate the final scene let their TR

2:45 trucks a lot of people are pulling in

2:46 here with their tow trucks trying to

2:47 recreate the very final scene of straik

2:50 spinning around around in this circle

2:52 they built a concrete layer area right

2:55 there you can actually see that little

2:57 brick area right there in the shot as

2:59 well

3:00 as well as Fort Tomahawk here which is

3:02 still here but they've resurfaced this

3:05 as well so now we're going to cross the

3:08 street into what was an epic bizarre and

3:11 unusual final scene basically in the

3:14 movie The guy lost his girlfriend he

3:16 lost his home he tried to rob a bank the

3:19 bank was closed and then he went and

3:21 robbed a barber shop got about

3:24 $38 his accomplice got busted by the

3:27 police he went stole

3:30 his work truck drove right down this

3:33 pulled into there got out of the truck

3:36 holding a frozen turkey frozen turkey a

3:39 shotgun and what else did he have and he

3:41 had his cowboy hat on and he walked

3:44 straight across Towards the Sky Ride and

3:46 into this building which was painted a

3:48 little bit differently and the Indian

3:50 store used to have teeps at one time

3:52 correct they removed the teps when did

3:54 they remove the T probably recently only

3:56 been a couple years probably to be more

4:00 recently there used to be teps right

4:02 here in the shot so he crosses the road

4:05 hopefully you're following Along by

4:06 looking on YouTube or you've seen the

4:09 movie maybe you have the DVD the VHS or

4:11 you can just find the clip on YouTube he

4:13 crosses the road to walk right in

4:16 here let's cross

4:18 over woo all right left him behind the

4:21 interesting thing is this was the last

4:24 movie that Ian Curtis the singer of Joy

4:27 Division Joy Division eventually became

4:29 new order a very successful band with a

4:31 lot of hits but Joy Division Ian Curtis

4:34 committed suicide very shortly after

4:37 watching the final scene of this film so

4:40 it's kind of an interesting tie in in

4:42 the movie The Character we were telling

4:44 you about actually commit suicide on the

4:47 sky ride after he walks right through

4:50 here as he walks in he actually

5:00 passes he actually passes this and walks

5:00 right along that little wooden area and

5:03 right against that wall they used to

5:05 have dancing chickens dancing chickens

5:08 chickens that played the piano a rabbbit

5:11 that rode a fire truck I drove a fire

5:13 truck and of course dancing chickens

5:15 this is 1977 when the movie was filmed

5:18 they're they're in vending vending

5:19 they've actually kind of gone out of

5:21 style a little bit thankfully because of

5:23 animal cruelty basically the way the

5:24 chicken worked it would dance on a hot

5:27 flame a hot plate so the chicken would

5:29 dance around because if I'm in bare feet

5:31 and there's something hot under me I'm

5:32 going to dance so that's how the chicken

5:34 danced so the character of straik walked

5:37 right down there says chicken Roost oh

5:39 yeah look at that chicken

5:42 roost that is very interesting fish

5:45 right here it's a creepy this a very

5:48 creepy look at that fish so basically

5:52 straik walked right where we are the

5:55 dancing chickens were right in here so

5:58 just imagine some dancing chicken

5:59 chicken machines all colorful all

6:01 painted red yellow blue green all these

6:03 wacky colors you can kind of see the

6:06 outside of the woods in the shot where

6:08 he's standing right here and then the

6:10 next shot he's actually walking

6:12 downstairs so let's actually go

6:14 downstairs see what it looks like now

6:17 compared to then here's the

6:28 stairway so he's walking down these

6:28 stairs stay right there go back up a

6:30 little bit go back up okay so this is

6:33 the shot

6:34 here so you walk down the stairs that's

6:37 the exact angle that he walked down this

6:41 was there you go you got your tur you

6:42 got your turkey and your shotgun he

6:45 walked completely past this was all

6:48 painted a little bit differently I know

6:50 I don't know if I got the shot do it

6:51 again hurry back up there hurry back up

6:53 there this was all painted differently

6:56 there you go okay walk back down quickly

6:58 shotgun and turkey in hand this was all

7:02 painted differently which is awesome but

7:04 this brick is all still the same then he

7:08 came over here and he actually messed

7:11 with these knobs and gizmos he turned

7:15 that up pushed that up opened that and

7:19 kicked that

7:20 on just like that that's it nothing

7:24 happened it didn't start to so he was

7:25 flipping that the lights came on turned

7:28 that the sky Sky Ride started to move

7:31 and check this out

7:37 shun it's Jacob the carpet bagger

7:37 standing in front of the actual

7:40 abandoned Sky Ride

7:49 Hearts so these are the actual

7:49 carts it's awesome because in the movie

7:51 these were painted and over time they've

7:54 actually removed the painting on them

7:56 but on the back of them they used to

7:57 actually have different wooden sayings

7:59 and the saying that he when he was

8:01 riding on it said is this really me so

8:05 you got to wonder if this was one of the

8:08 actual carts he sat in so he would have

8:10 been sitting right here the wooden sign

8:12 saying is this really me was right there

8:15 and he went up the side of the

8:18 mountain that is cool of course this was

8:20 all painted here and it had a lot of

8:24 logo Indian logos up the side of it and

8:27 he went straight up the mountain

8:31 that is

8:32 awesome so the final scene basically

8:35 outside the police show up the fire

8:37 department shows up his truck is on fire

8:40 burning he drives right not drives but

8:43 he actually goes up the mountain one

8:45 time comes back down then comes through

8:48 here spins around you see him spin

8:51 around this way right through here

8:55 straight up the

8:57 hill and as he's going up the mountain

9:01 the camera angle pans way up high above

9:05 where his Sky Ride cart is and then you

9:08 hear a shotgun

9:11 blast pretty much signifying that he

9:14 committed suicide killed itself on The

9:16 Sky Ride cart makes for a very unusual

9:19 ending to a very unusual movie and then

9:22 the movie pans back over to the dancing

9:26 chickens and the movie basically ends

9:28 with the chickens dancing around they're

9:31 dancing they're

9:34 dancing right up there so that's the

9:37 scene that is awesome have you ever seen

9:39 the movie you should definitely check
