0:15 check out this Bulldog right here he's
0:15 ready for a road
0:17 trip welcome everyone Adam the woo
0:23 here a few days ago was the 25th
0:26 anniversary of the release of an album
0:29 by a rock band that changed the course
0:32 of music no matter what your thought
0:34 process is on these
0:38 gentlemen the fact of the matter is that
0:40 music and the music industry changed
0:43 with the release of Nirvana's never mind
0:47 and I'm going to tell you my Nirvana
0:50 story it's a
0:52 doozy it's my second channel daily Vlog
0:55 channel it's the daily woo my dad used
0:59 to be the Minister inside that church
1:02 building and we lived in this house on
1:05 the back of the property and I'm going
1:07 to take you back in time now to November
1:10 28th 1993 it was early in the morning
1:14 we're right in that exact spot I loaded
1:17 into my Ford
1:19 1984
1:22 LTD and the day began the event I was
1:25 going to was just a little over 50 miles
1:28 from this spot but it took me all day to
1:32 get there because on this day years
1:35 before the internet and years before
1:37 cell phones I had two tickets to see
1:41 Nirvana and I had no one to go with me
1:44 nor did I even know how to get to the
1:47 concert and while in this day and age it
1:49 would seem simple to find a concert
1:51 buddy to go with either by posting on
1:53 social media or sending out texts to
1:55 your friends it was not so simple then
1:58 in fact I drove around to countless
2:02 houses of friends
2:04 acquaintances pretty much anyone I
2:08 thought that might have an interest in
2:10 going with me all in all I stopped by
2:12 about seven or eight different places
2:13 asking people to go with me the two
2:15 biggest responses I got were it's too
2:17 far and I will just see them next time
2:21 they come to town and to understand why
2:23 I had an extra ticket we have to go up
2:25 to CMI there used to be a music store up
2:27 here that sold CDs and cassette tapes
2:29 and they also had a Ticket Master kiosk
2:33 in the store and it was located right
2:35 over here in this corner spot where this
2:38 clothing store is now about once a week
2:40 I would walk in these doors walk over to
2:43 that far left wall and check out who was
2:45 coming to town right next to where the
2:47 cash register was was a little computer
2:49 screen and this is way before you could
2:51 search the worldwide web you would stand
2:54 in there and you would ask what bands
2:56 are coming to town and that's how I'd
2:57 buy my tickets and I'd always buy an
2:59 extra ticket just in case someone wanted
3:01 to come along with me and that is what
3:03 happened in this situation and while I'm
3:05 in the area I'll show you where the
3:07 other music store in town was where I
3:09 bought my first Nirvana CD by the way
3:12 that used to be a Hooters and now it's
3:14 not right here on the backside of this
3:16 mall sits an old movie theater which is
3:18 now some sort of school but in this door
3:21 used to be a record shop and I use that
3:23 term loosely because they mostly sold
3:25 cassette tapes but that was around the
3:27 time at the threshold of the who this
3:29 door
3:31 p l push that was the time the threshold
3:34 when CDs were becoming very popular and
3:37 right inside here where is now a salon
3:40 is where I first picked up the band
3:43 Nirvana's album I spent many a dime in
3:46 that place buying different bands you'll
3:48 never forget the first time you heard
3:49 that album will you
3:51 Panther Pink Panther I think I might
3:54 have just broken a rule right there I
3:57 should leave I'm so ashamed ashamed so
4:01 ashamed I guess I should probably give a
4:03 disclaimer now I'm not trying to say
4:04 Nirvana is the greatest band ever I'm
4:06 not trying to say I justify what each
4:08 member's personal life is all about all
4:11 I'm saying is being into that band in
4:14 the early 90s was an experience that
4:17 changed my life remember that song
4:19 smells like bat
4:21 boy don't listen to him I'm thinking
4:24 maybe it's
4:26 time to refresh my CD collection
4:34 countless times I have purchased pretty
4:34 much every Nirvana album bleach never
4:36 mind insesticide in Udo and the live MTV
4:41 acoustic I've never bought this album it
4:44 has all the usuals but it also has a
4:46 song that was released after Kurt passed
4:49 away called you know you're right I love
4:52 that
5:01 song where we are now in routs to
5:01 Lakeland Florida I eventually coer my
5:04 friend Shawn into going with me I begged
5:07 I pleaded I twisted his arm in every
5:09 possible way and everything was going
5:11 pretty well up until the time he said he
5:14 knew a shortcut and this shortcut did
5:18 not bode well with our heroes let me
5:21 tell you this ended up almost costing me
5:26 the entire evening of course in these
5:28 days you would just look up on like
5:30 Google Maps or on your smartphone which
5:32 direction to go and back then I wasn't
5:35 coherent enough to buy a
5:38 map so I guess it's kind of my own fault
5:41 that we got
5:54 lost if we would have stayed on I4
5:54 another 30 m just to the left of this
5:57 road would have been our destination
6:00 however we decided to jump on Highway 27
6:04 and go that way and this is the pivotal
6:06 moment where everything went a ride now
6:10 you can get to Lakeland that way if you
6:12 go a few miles hang a right and
6:14 eventually you will take back roads
6:16 until you arrive in town my friend kept
6:18 saying I think the turn's coming up soon
6:21 I think the turn's coming up soon this
6:23 went on for over an hour I finally did
6:26 the thing every man does not want to do
6:29 I stopped at the side of the road went
6:30 in the convenience store and I asked
6:33 directions waham Lincoln always asked
6:37 for dire I know I know and the bad news
6:40 was I was so far away I didn't think I
6:43 was going to make it to the concert on
6:44 time so I made a WRA
6:47 decision WRA decision I pushed my car
6:52 which had never left town
6:54 before to the utter limits trying to get
6:58 to the concert on time the car I had at
7:00 that time was not the best to say the
7:04 least in fact if you did not put water
7:06 in the radiator on a regular basis it
7:08 would overheat and when my check engine
7:10 light came on I avoided it like the
7:14 plague because I had somewhere to be I
7:16 did not have the time to pull over wait
7:19 around for an hour for the engine to
7:20 cool down and put water in the
7:25 radiator man I was smart back then
7:27 wasn't I on a side note these are always
7:29 interesting to drive past quite the
7:31 conversation piece and because I avoided
7:34 the warning signs and did not heed the
7:38 vehicle overheating every time I mashed
7:40 on the gas the car would not go any
7:42 faster it was going 65 I was
7:46 accelerating there was a grinding noise
7:49 then the fastest it would go would be 55
7:51 then the fastest was 45 35 25 the entire
7:55 front of the vehicle engulfed in Smoke
7:59 coming out funing into the sky and just
8:03 like that my car was completely dead
8:07 sitting off the side of a busy road
8:09 billowing with smoke to the heavens and
8:12 even though the car was done for the
8:14 fact that this smoke signal if you will
8:16 was in the air helped me out because a
8:19 police officer a very kind man pulled in
8:22 behind me thinking that my car was on
8:25 fire long story short I left my car on
8:27 the side of the road not knowing where I
8:29 was hopped in the back of the officer's
8:32 vehicle and he drove us 20 or so miles
8:36 to the Lakeland Civic Center to see
8:40 Nirvana they have hence dropped the word
8:43 civic from their title and now it's just
8:45 called the Lakeland Center but this is
8:48 it pulled right up here in the police
8:51 car to a
8:53 throng of fans waiting to see the
8:55 concert giving us very awkward looks on
8:58 why a cop was dropping us off a pretty
9:02 good siiz building of course they were
9:04 hitting the peak of their Fame around
9:07 this time so the crowd was pretty
9:09 massive you could almost say they took
9:11 the
9:12 World by storm a few key things about
9:15 the concert I remember it was so many
9:17 people up front that I couldn't even
9:19 breathe it was like compressing me
9:22 against the front of the wall if you've
9:23 ever been to either punk rock or heavy
9:26 metal or any kind of rock show that's a
9:28 little bit more aive Rive you were
9:30 familiar with Slam Dancing or what they
9:32 call Mosh pits when they played smells
9:34 like teen Spirits I thought I was going
9:36 to die the other major concern I had is
9:39 how was I supposed to get home as luck
9:41 would have it by some miracle in the
9:43 crowd I saw a friend of a friend of a
9:46 friend down on the floor and I asked him
9:48 if he could give me a ride home yelling
9:50 in his ear between songs and afterwards
9:53 he gave my friend and I a ride back to
9:55 St Cloud now there is a political rally
9:58 going on here to today I could not get
10:00 inside because it is ending and the
10:02 police would not let me in and I'm not
10:04 even going to attempt to fly the Drone
10:06 because I do not need Secret Service
10:08 shooting it from the sky at first I was
10:10 pretty excited because the doors were
10:11 open and I could get inside and maybe
10:13 get a shot of the stage where they
10:14 played didn't work out but
10:17 nonetheless pretty cool to be here again
10:20 after all these years check out the sun
10:22 setting over there it's pretty
10:25 Majestic just over the horizon and I did
10:28 man managed to get my car back into town
10:32 a guy my dad knew owned a car repair
10:35 shop and he had a tow truck and he drove
10:37 out the next day with me to get it and
10:40 he fixed
10:41 it and I'm eternally grateful for that
10:44 for
10:45 sure a bad experience a lot of bad
10:48 experiences in one day that ended up
10:52 being pretty
10:58 awesome life's weird like that and now I
10:58 have a story to
10:59 tell thanks for
