I DO NOT Want To Run The Disneyland Half Marathon / Halloween Race Weekend & runDisney Expo

0:03 today's adventure begins here in the

0:03 hotel room I've been staying in the last

0:05 few days the Disneyland DVC Tower just

0:09 sitting here the edge of the bed looking

0:13 out on the splash pad in the pool out

0:15 there this has been my view the last few

0:17 days I'm checking out of this hotel and

0:20 into another one on Harbor

0:22 Boulevard it is race

0:30 weekend I leave town on Monday go to to

0:30 another

0:31 state been here a while but leaving in a

0:35 few days checking out of here now

0:51 though it's only about 10:40 right now

0:51 but at noon the Run Disney health and

0:54 fitness expo opens up today it was open

0:56 yesterday I wasn't able to go to it

0:58 because I was on my way up to Hollywood

1:00 and to Halloween Horror ice but I put my

1:02 stuff up in the car and then come back

1:04 down later parked up on the roof the

1:06 Disneyland Hotel convention center which

1:09 is where the Run Disney Expo is taking

1:13 place so I'll go put my backpack and my

1:17 popcorn bucket and my rolling bag in the

1:21 car up there which is up you can take an

1:23 elevator but you can also just walk up

1:25 these stairs I usually just choose to

1:27 take the stairs welcome everyone

1:39 2024 it's kind of nice in the shade hot

1:42 in the sun another scorcher here in

1:44 SoCal I have a little over an hour hour

1:46 and 15 minutes give or take before I

1:48 have to head back over here to the

1:50 Health Fitness Wellness run Disney event

1:54 I am doing a run Disney event this

1:57 weekend I kind of think they should

1:58 change the name because I would imagine

2:00 a lot of people that do it do not run

2:04 myself included will not be running I

2:06 might jog a little but I have a very

2:09 wide step and I walk very quickly I walk

2:14 about a

2:15 15m 15minute mile Pace when I'm on the

2:18 treadmill from what I've heard you get

2:20 eliminated if you do not have a

2:22 16-minute per mile pace so if I jog a

2:24 little bit and then do my normal walking

2:26 pace with the long strides I should be

2:29 good who knows though I might fail

2:32 nonetheless I'm going to give it the old

2:34 try I'm going to be doing a 13 Mi the

2:37 things need about it too also no matter

2:39 if I finish it or not I know I can do

2:41 the distance cuz I walk about that much

2:43 every day anyway I probably walk 10 to

2:45 13 to 14 miles a day on a normal day

2:47 anyway the thing is I'm not walking at

2:49 that fast pace and it's not within you

2:52 know 2 or 3 hours however one neat thing

2:55 about it is get to go into the

2:57 Disneyland park early in the morning not

3:00 tomorrow morning but this weekend and

3:02 then also into DCA and also into Angel

3:04 Stadium and go around the warning track

3:06 at Angel Stadium so that' be pretty cool

3:08 nonetheless I got about an hour to just

3:11 kind of waste a little bit of time and

3:12 then I'm going to check out the event

3:14 the Expo get my bib that's the thing

3:17 that goes on on front there with my

3:18 number and everything like that and just

3:20 see where the day leads check into

3:22 another hotel on Harbor I'm inviting you

3:24 to join me it's good to have you here

3:26 shall you and there's a part of me that

3:28 really just doesn't want to do it but

3:31 the fact that it's going to have some

3:33 extracurricular things happening some

3:35 characters are going to be out photo

3:38 opportunities and just to say I did it

3:40 I'm going to do it I made a promise to

3:42 myself that I would do it and I'm going

3:44 to do it I'm going to have a buddy going

3:46 along with me he said he's not going for

3:48 time he will not be running the whole

3:50 thing either he'll be jogging and

3:53 keeping the pace with me and we both

3:54 decided made the commitment that we're

3:56 going to stay together no matter what

3:58 and if we finish it together cool we get

4:00 eliminated together that that works out

4:02 too there are people who take it very

4:04 seriously there's the novices there's

4:06 through casual joggers and walkers for

4:09 these events but there's also people who

4:11 take it very very seriously Disney sent

4:14 out an email about the heat excessive

4:17 heat warnings that are going over

4:18 Southern California the whole month

4:21 warning everyone and just stating stay

4:23 hydrated go at a slower Pace in fact

4:26 their words of paraphrasing were

4:28 something to the extent of if you're

4:30 going for time this might not be the

4:33 race to try to to best and beat your

4:37 best time that was kind of what they

4:39 were saying they were saying slow down I

4:42 wonder if maybe the balloon ladies won't

4:44 exist they probably will still exist but

4:46 nonetheless that was kind of interesting

4:49 that that Disney sent that out is right

4:50 now in the in the sun scorching in the

4:53 shade in the shade right

4:56 here feels pretty good last night at hhm

4:59 really bore me out it was very hot all

5:01 day I got there early around 2:00 to be

5:02 traffic up to LA and staying all day at

5:05 Universal and then through hhn I was

5:08 pretty tired when I got back here I

5:09 crashed out pretty hard right here at

5:10 the bottom of the escalator is an old

5:13 autopia car right here and they have a

5:16 little history through the decades of

5:18 autopia like going back to 55 here's an

5:21 arrow to all the different things you

5:22 got the race big pip race bib hiccup

5:25 that's hard to say this early without

5:26 caffeine Club run Disney headquarters

5:29 race shirt gear bag the uh I ended up

5:31 getting uh the QR code which gives me

5:33 the shirt and official race merchandise

5:36 and an info booth and there's Mickey

5:38 right down there as a reminder for run

5:40 Disney guest costumes must be

5:41 familyfriendly Etc I'm not going to wear

5:42 a costume running is going to be or

5:45 walking fast is going to be enough as it

5:46 is not to be dressed up costumes may not

5:48 contain sharp objects unre obviously

5:51 guest who do not adhere to the

5:52 guidelines would be refused ENT also

5:54 loving the lobby here they have the

5:56 hotel and the convention center they

5:57 have the hotel in the 50s and 60s

5:59 through the decades and what it looked

6:01 like way back in the day you can kind of

6:04 see how it originally looked here's

6:06 another version of how the Disneyland

6:09 Hotel originally looked kind of browse

6:13 around some of the old uh the old

6:15 photographs and things this was the

6:17 original tower there was only one Tower

6:19 and because it is Friday as I was saying

6:21 a big TGIF these are the hours 12:00

6:23 noon to 8:00 p.m. this bat will be

6:25 landing at noon and like I said it's

6:28 about it's about an hour right now the

6:29 door are closed even in the front they

6:31 got little Balloons look at that a

6:32 little hidden evil Mickey for Halloween

6:35 you got the hatbox ghost getting a

6:37 little uh brisk jog on right there they

6:40 got this whole section adorned with with

6:43 balloons even over here thought that was

6:45 like a ursul as tentacles but it's not

6:46 it's just more balloons it looks like

6:48 Hattie is like one of the main main

6:50 focal points over here this is the

6:54 Halloween

6:55 run series there was a 5k which I think

6:59 was yesterday yest I think today was the

7:00 10K which probably just ended wait a

7:03 second I'm I'm I'm incorrect on this 5K

7:06 was today 10K is tomorrow and then

7:09 Sunday is the 13.1 mile and then for

7:13 anyone who does these two they combine

7:16 and they can get the Jack Skellington

7:18 lanyard and or badge I don't know I'm

7:21 new to this but I don't think this one

7:23 counts the Chip and Dale 5K which was

7:25 today which is 3 mil 3 MI 6 mil half

7:29 half

7:30 marathon combine those two if you can do

7:33 both of those then you get that I think

7:34 that's how it works I don't know I don't

7:37 know 100% I'm I'm not 100% sure big

8:08 time I get going got the video uploaded

8:10 all that was time to check out I'll hit

8:12 the pool at the other Hotel later like a

8:14 little hot tub time and pool time

8:17 definitely will uh limber up the bones

8:19 and muscles cuz I'm definitely ooh they

8:30 at this brand new this just opened that

8:49 and they're testing it out can't imagine

8:52 but yeah that's what I was just told

8:54 I've been trying this new thing it's a

8:56 vanilla latte but sugarfree vanilla

8:58 latte so I got that they do not have the

9:00 sugar-free lattes in pumpkin spice but

9:03 they do have it in vanilla and they

9:05 taste pretty much the same as long as

9:06 they get that caffeine flowing through

9:09 my system it all long as it's piping hot

9:11 and caffeinated it's good booked a quick

9:13 reservation at

9:15 Disneyland so I am now walking into

9:18 Walt's original Magic Kingdom at 7

9:20 minutes after 11: so I'll be in here

9:23 about an hour less than an hour until

9:25 noon and then I'll go over to the Expo

9:27 just uh drinking a coffee walking around

9:29 down Main Street and around the around

9:31 uh Disneyland not a bad way to spend the

9:33 morning an elevated trash can so if

9:35 you're going to the recycle trash can is

9:37 up on a little uh little ledge it's

9:39 higher up and it's not just that one

9:41 this one over here also hold on now that

9:43 one is on the ledge and this one over

9:45 here is on the ledge too I wonder why

9:48 look at that it's on like a little thing

9:52 there wouldn't be for flooding cuz it

9:54 hasn't rained here in Forever

10:01 seeing a lot of people with their race

10:01 stuff on they run Disney stuff it's a

10:04 whole Community kind of like Disney park

10:06 people Disney movie folk the cruise line

10:10 folks and there's also the the race

10:12 folks there's a lot of folks so many

10:14 subcultures in the Disney Community it's

10:18 just tourists as it go to the parks and

10:22 it's not just APS again it's like it's a

10:25 whole bunch of different stuff that

10:27 people are into so I guess I'm jumping

10:29 right into the the Run Disney stuff even

10:31 though this is going to be the first and

10:32 most likely the last one I ever ever

17:45 reason I'm I didn't do the 5K or the 10K

17:48 is because they were immediately gone

17:50 while I was in the queue this event sold

17:52 out immediately I mean I got into the

17:55 queue like a couple hours before by the

17:57 time I even got to the point where I can

17:59 try to purchase the 5 and 10K is

18:02 completely sold out so that's why I'm

18:05 opting to do the 13.1 because that was

18:08 the only one that was left and when I

18:10 say only one that was left it's not

18:12 because it was left a couple days after

18:13 they went on sale it was really before

18:16 they went on sale with the virtual queue

18:18 that's how fast they sold out d23 was

18:21 almost impossible to get tickets to

18:23 getting tickets to these race events

18:26 pretty pretty dang tough as well it's a

18:28 big deal yeah this is really good it's

18:31 kind of got a little filling aspect to

18:33 it too because it is the PB and or not

18:35 no jelly just peanut peanut butter PB

18:38 and something I can't remember what the

18:39 other ingredient

18:41 is taking these escalators so much I've

18:43 never seen anyone on them athlete race

18:47 times over here I go back downstairs for

18:50 the race shirt pick up well this is the

18:53 exit and over here is where I get my

18:56 bib hav't I haven't wor a bib on a long

20:17 a real beehive of activity in here oh my

20:25 extensive I have not been in this room

20:27 since a Dapper Day convention a few

20:29 years ago for d one of the Disneyland

20:39 here Disney Half Marathon this is the

20:41 one I will be doing 13 1 12 miles starts

20:45 and finishes right there over by Disney

20:47 way goes into the parks goes all around

20:51 there shows the water stops shows the

20:52 medical stops going to be a lot of

20:55 through the streets of Anaheim which

20:57 that early in the morning I would

20:59 imagine they'll probably have it all

21:01 blocked off with police presence and

21:03 some areas of Anaheim not the best

21:05 there's the Honda Center where the d23

21:07 parks panel took place Angel Stadium

21:10 over here be going through around the

21:11 warning track here looks like down and

21:15 then around and then ending back over

21:17 there a frightful run for

21:25 everyone there's right over here is

21:25 the official end of the line for the

21:27 merchandise switch is over in there love

21:30 all the characters that are running over

21:31 there all the hitching as well all three

21:35 of them and hading this is the shirt

21:37 that I was the the prepaid shirt for the

21:39 event so I got that but there's a few

21:41 other ones again the 10K I'm not doing

21:44 that one this was finished oh that's the

21:48 19 M finished now they have some magic

21:50 key items over here including that and

21:53 they have a magic key pin this is the

21:54 first pen I'm going to get there's

21:56 actually quite a bit of merchant pens

21:57 for the thir chain actually going to get

21:59 this one as well so I've got two pins

22:01 picked out and a little magnet for my

22:03 fridge here as well I'm kind of only

22:05 looking at the 13 M merchandise again

22:09 there is quite a bit of

22:26 magnet and then maybe you can whatever

22:26 you want to do the yeah this area over

22:28 here usually is not very busy unless

22:29 there's a convention going on usually

22:31 just people go into the hotel but

22:33 definitely uh very busy

22:36 today I can definitely see the hype of

22:39 the Run Disney events as you get in

22:42 there you start getting hyped and you

22:43 get excited get now I'm getting excited

22:45 to do it at least to try

22:50 it oo it's a scorcher up on this

23:20 okay though it's just me got my stuff

23:35 a lot bigger space here kind of a lot of

23:38 empty space right over there which would

23:39 be nice cuz I could probably put my

23:42 luggage here well if I could have if I

23:44 had one of those little tray tables

23:46 which there isn't little place to hang

23:49 clothes usually what I'll do is I'll

23:51 just put my luggage there that'll work

23:53 too I was thinking I got a little more

23:59 yeah I always like staying here it's

23:59 right across from the Disneyland Resort

24:00 and it works out I'll go outside and

24:03 show a couple things it works out pretty

24:04 good that I

24:06 coincidentally ended up checking into

24:08 here also no central air it's just a

24:11 little kind of old school air

24:13 conditioner unit down there but nice and

24:15 cozy right across the street from the

24:17 Disneyland Harbor entrance I've stayed

24:18 here a few times I think this is also a

24:20 different style shower than the last

24:22 time I stayed here I think the other one

24:23 was a tub style shower this is the more

24:26 this is the more kind of flat to the

24:29 ground style as well kind of a cozy old

24:34 style hotel but fix up and renovate it's

24:37 nice decent also this is the stuff I

24:39 purchased at the expo comes with the

24:42 little pins there to put it on the shirt

24:45 I got the shirt that wait a second

24:47 where's the shirt that hold on one

24:49 second open my bag up here is the shirt

24:53 but let me show you what else I got

24:55 first I got the magnet I got the two

24:57 pins I bought these socks these I could

25:01 put the bib they call it on the on the

25:06 shirt and here's the shirt I'll be

25:09 running in right there Sanderson sisters

25:13 or at least the Disney's version of them

25:17 2024 there you go a nice uh kind of

25:20 running

25:24 lightweight this came with the the price

25:28 the price of the the Run Disney event I

25:31 think it was like 250 bucks 300 bucks it

25:33 wasn't cheap but you also get the metal

25:36 at the end the lanyard you get the shirt

25:38 and you get the experience and all of

25:40 them not just the not just the 13 Mile

25:43 all of them sold out pretty much

25:44 immediately within the first like hour

25:47 or less was like the pool here hot tub

25:50 that's out

25:52 here ni set up there even rooms up top

25:56 there that over Overlook kind of

25:57 Overlook hard

25:59 never stayed in those though not only do

26:01 they have a low clearance sign but they

26:02 also have the blinking light to alert

26:08 anyone you got the Montreal beam over

26:08 there monreal is not working

26:11 currently it is so hot so hot that the

26:15 little metal around the edge of these

26:20 sunglasses gets this happened yesterday

26:23 and today gets so hot that it almost

26:26 it's like permeating against the skin

26:29 cuz it's not plastic it's like I guess

26:30 like a cheap aluminum or a cheap tin

26:33 when you put these on my face when

26:35 they've been like sitting in the sun for
