0:17 a few months ago over on the Adam the

0:18 woo Channel I did a video of all the

0:22 different spots in the history of Spawn

0:25 Ranch and in that video people were

0:28 suggesting you should go to some of the

0:30 other Charles Manson spots around the

0:33 Greater Los Angeles area so I'm going to

0:35 do that today I'm going to drive up to

0:37 LA and show off a few of the other

0:40 things that have to do with the tragedy

0:43 the folklore the mystery the decades

0:49 old I don't know what the word would be

0:51 the decades

0:53 old Mystique behind the whole Manson

0:57 family some of the spots that's what I

0:59 I'm doing sitting in traffic now driving

1:04 Angeles and we got a few other things

1:06 we're going to be doing today too so

1:07 it's going to be a whole gamut of

1:10 excitement I hope you're ready it's my

1:35 look at that humongous chair in a

1:35 parking lot there's just a gargantuan

1:38 chair in the middle of a parking area in

1:41 downtown Los Angeles and that's the

1:43 courthouse right there which is our

1:46 first stop of the

1:49 day this is the Los Angeles Superior

1:51 Court building when Manson was arrested

1:54 the remaining family members who were

1:55 not arrested and in court set up a

1:58 makeshift vigil on the street corner and

2:02 I want to find that spot after

2:03 researching the footage what I thought

2:05 was going to be right here on this

2:07 street corner I was incorrect the

2:09 location is on Broadway but not Broadway

2:12 this far up it's actually farther down

2:13 that way about 10 minutes down the road

2:15 while I'm here I might as well check out

2:17 this photo con see if there's anything I

2:18 could use inside oh this is a pretty big

2:21 convention I had no idea that this was

2:24 going to be this extreme look at all

2:27 this WOW everything you can possibly

2:29 need for filming and taking photos all

2:32 right here look at these crazy things

2:36 like something out of 20,000 Leagues

2:38 Under the Sea but a futuristic version

2:41 of it wa I don't know if we'll ever use

2:44 something that extreme to do YouTube

2:46 videos or photography but holy cow look

2:52 boom mike they have a staging area set

2:55 up where if you are an amateur

2:57 professional photographer you can take a

2:58 picture with this girl

3:02 camera and you get a free

3:05 model snap

3:19 away in my honest opinion I found that

3:19 to be completely overwhelming and

3:22 confusing I've always been never really

3:24 a big Gearhead when it comes to what I

3:26 use I do use Canon dslrs to film my main

3:29 Channel videos

3:30 and I use my iPhone which I'm using now

3:31 to film The Vlogs I was hoping to find

3:33 like a wide angle lens for my iPhone or

3:35 maybe some iPhone accessories to make

3:37 these Vlogs better there was nothing in

3:39 there it was all like super intense high

3:42 gear photography stuff are those patunas

3:45 I also feel very strongly that it's

3:46 about the content of what you're filming

3:48 versus the quality now there are

3:50 exceptions to this rule but if you're

3:52 buying camera equipment thinking all of

3:55 a sudden you're going to start taking

3:56 better pictures at better places but yet

3:58 you don't go to the better place places

4:01 it kind of defeats the purpose just

4:02 saying okay heading up Broadway going to

4:04 the proper

4:12 Courthouse whenever I see this area of

4:12 downtown Los Angeles I always think of a

4:14 Mega Man the beginning of a Mega Man

4:15 with Charlton hon cuz this is the area

4:18 he was driving around all by

4:26 himself I love all the old theaters down

4:26 here on Broadway people taking a little

4:28 tour some of the theaters some of the

4:30 movie spots down here look at the

4:32 carvings on the top of that

4:34 Marquee right there on the side of that

4:36 building had to park in a parking

4:37 structure parking in downtown Los

4:39 Angeles not easy you know what I'm

4:41 starting to wonder I see this sign for

4:43 Hill Street do you think the show Hill

4:46 Street Blues was that base in Los

4:49 Angeles huh I think we're in the right

4:52 spot now this is what I was looking for

4:56 go go

4:58 go okay I

5:07 will okay if my calculations are correct

5:07 like Doc Brown even though Doc Brown

5:09 probably would not be on the hunt for

5:11 where the Manson women sang when Charles

5:14 Manson was on trial but if he did his

5:16 calculations would be correct and I'm

5:19 assuming and so would he the spot is

5:21 right up here holy cow this is it right

5:24 here this is the

5:36 wow it looks the same as it did from

5:36 1969 this whole area this corner the

5:39 street corner all looks exactly the same

5:42 including this this was here in the

5:44 photos 300 North

5:47 Broadway and they were right there

5:50 singing a song to Charlie and you could

5:53 see that in the video footage and the

5:56 photos and even these little grates on

5:58 the ground all still look the same they

6:00 would have been sitting right in

6:11 here the four girls would have been

6:13 sitting basically where that crack was

6:16 right in that exact spot this is before

6:18 they shaved their heads when the trial

6:21 first started and then later they shaved

6:24 their heads and more of the Manson

6:26 family joined in and they all sat right

6:28 here with shaved heads in protest and as

6:31 a vigil to Charlie there's a famous

6:34 photo of two of the girls sitting on

6:36 this side two of the girls sitting on

6:38 this side one of them leaning towards

6:40 the edge of this pole and you can see

6:42 this building back in the background

6:44 still looks exactly the same those trees

6:47 have grown up considerably there used to

6:49 be a light pole and there still is

6:51 buried in those trees that resembles the

6:54 light pole that's right there this is

6:58 the spot right right here that is

7:14 crazy I have stopped off in this

7:16 residential neighborhood and right

7:19 straight ahead up the hill is the home

7:23 of the

7:24 Lanas now a lot of people know of the

7:27 Manson family murders in Sharon Tate but

7:29 the following night was a second set of

7:32 murders the Lanas who

7:35 lived right up the

7:47 hill now since all that happened the

7:47 people who now own the residence have

7:48 built a carport but the house still

7:51 looks the same the driveway still looks

7:54 the same there's a famous photo of a

7:56 police officer standing right here at

7:58 the four front of the property and this

8:01 would have happened the night after the

8:04 Sharon Tate

8:09 murders pretty sad there's something

8:09 really interesting right here off the

8:11 side of the freeway on the side of this

8:13 little Cliff that I've always wanted to

8:15 pull over and check out right on the

8:16 side of this huge concrete wall take a

8:20 look at that protruding out of the side

8:23 concrete is a statue of a woman taking a

8:26 selfie or

8:28 vlogging

8:29 either or I think maybe she's vlogging

8:32 just because I'm a vlogger even though I

8:34 do take selfies occasionally I Vlog more

8:37 than selfie

8:39 myself so there you go the very first

10:44 before that tragic evening earlier in

10:47 their life they had lived in a house

10:51 owned by Walt Disney and it's also

10:55 interesting that Walt Disney passed away

10:58 on on

10:59 Rosemary's 36th birthday and there's

11:03 also another Charles Manson Disney tyin

11:09 the tragic death and the murder of

11:11 Sharon Tate happened just after midnight

11:13 in the we hours of August 9th

11:17 1969 the entire next day all the news

11:21 agencies were all posting their articles

11:24 in the newspapers and into the magazines

11:28 letting Los Angeles and the world know

11:31 that on August 9th

11:34 1969 Sharon Tate was

11:38 killed and this has become infamous and

11:41 legendary and what else happened on that

11:54 day Disneyland's attraction The Haunted

11:54 Mansion

11:56 opened on the same

11:59 day as that dramatic Manson family

12:03 murders of Sharon Tate and the others at

12:07 her

12:08 home the same
