0:02 today's adventure begins here on the
0:04 corner of Mount Vernon Street looking at
0:06 scabby the rat
0:14 does this stand for West Philadelphia
0:14 the W that stands for Mortar oh it
0:18 stands for water but we're in West
0:20 Philadelphia oh we're not in West
0:22 Philadelphia we're not we're in
0:23 Fairmount Philadelphia Fairmount okay is
0:26 that near West Philly
0:28 not really okay completely in Center
0:30 City Philadelphia
0:32 see I'm glad the Philly Captain is with
0:34 me because you know your way around I
0:35 don't know anything you know anything
0:37 what about Philly about Philly
0:40 you're not welcome everyone this is
0:41 bright I should probably put these on
0:42 out of the woo here
0:44 with the Philly Captain pick me up at my
0:46 hotel and we don't really have a major
0:48 game plan today we were supposed to go
0:50 to a baseball game but it got rained out
0:52 got rained out
0:53 so we're just gonna Traverse around
0:57 first do you just like make up words in
0:59 your head I do Traverse around the
1:01 greater Philly area
1:02 at some point I want to get coffee
1:05 this guy loves coffee like yeah all he
1:09 talks about seriously all I talk about
1:11 come on all right if it's not Disney
1:13 World Baseball it's coffee that's it and
1:16 we're in this area the reason I thought
1:18 it was West Philly is because I asked
1:21 you
1:21 where is the basketball court from Fresh
1:24 Prince of Bel Air in West Philadelphia
1:27 where Will Smith's character was born
1:29 and raised it's right here in the
1:32 playgrounds where he spent most of his
1:33 days
1:34 you know what I like about that song it
1:36 really slaps it's yeah well you know
1:40 I was gonna say so does he but that's
1:42 what you were doing I'm inviting you to
1:43 join me and the Philly Captain today
1:45 shall you
1:47 my sunglasses are broken
1:50 convert they broken last time are they
1:52 the same ones probably different ones
1:54 okay so we can't can we go in there uh
1:57 we can't go okay it's gotta go this way
1:58 so between ten and six you can't go in
2:01 here so this is where the intro the
2:04 singing
2:05 the intro West Philadelphia born and
2:07 raised where the playground is where he
2:10 spent most of his days right he threw
2:12 the basketball on the guy on that court
2:15 right there yeah and one of the
2:17 background things that you can tell that
2:19 it was this school is you can see that
2:21 evil the mural that mural you can see
2:24 that in the background wearing all these
2:26 trees
2:28 are you serious yeah that's still there
2:29 all these years later they touched it up
2:31 because it's such an important thing
2:34 Phil yeah history we need to prove that
2:37 this is not West Philadelphia this
2:40 is fairly I don't know what is that an
2:42 eagle I think so you know what that
2:43 nowadays I would look at that and think
2:45 of Cobra Kai the Ebro Eagle Fang Dojo
2:48 whatever it is
2:50 I think that the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
2:52 I also think I see Will Smith coming in
2:55 right there plunging getting ready to
2:57 get you because you made a joke about
2:59 his bald wife
3:04 so to get on the court we got to go past
3:04 Roberto Clemente playground
3:10 Roberto Clemente famous baseball player
3:10 for the Pittsburgh Pirates
3:20 the interesting thing is I did not I was
3:20 assuming that the playground was going
3:23 to be in LA because the show was filmed
3:26 in the Hollywood area in fact the
3:28 mansion that he moved in with
3:30 was in Hollywood but I guess they flew
3:32 out here just to do the opening sequence
3:35 yeah I mean I don't
3:37 I don't like
3:46 yeah if they came all the way out here
3:46 because I know when they filmed this in
3:48 this area when they filmed that theme
3:50 song this wasn't the greatest area so I
3:54 don't yeah I don't even know how they
3:55 would pick this this uh
3:56 basketball Maybe Will Smith was just
3:59 here playing basketball they were had
4:01 their cameras Will Smith will school
4:03 around the corner that's it yes he did
4:06 really The Mastermind okay okay
4:10 are these real there's no way these are
4:12 real flowers sure those are real
4:19 don't those look fake
4:19 I think I think I'm losing my mind I
4:22 like the artwork on the side of that
4:24 wall there
4:29 sure probably in Philly you hear a lot
4:29 of helicop police helicopters yeah it's
4:31 not a good sign that means a crime
4:32 happened or a bad traffic accident
4:35 but usually it means crime
4:37 so this is it right here the Roberto
4:41 Clemente
4:43 basketball score
4:45 doing the in between the legs and he
4:48 does the hook shot yeah he don't have a
4:51 hook shot hits the guy in the head right
4:53 here facing this way and the guy and the
4:55 guy in proper Philadelphia tradition
4:57 beat the crap out of the guy for hitting
5:00 him okay I had to pull the video up to
5:02 watch it this is the angle here where
5:05 Will Smith pops his head in right here
5:07 with the basketball it starts the Line
5:09 West Philadelphia born and raised that's
5:11 the angle and the little brick building
5:14 behind it still looks the same
5:23 oh
5:23 I always like to shoot a basketball with
5:26 a fort
5:27 so this isn't a base that's an oversized
5:30 uh softball softball you can try
5:37 yeah that's why you're not supposed to
5:37 place an airball so there's kind of a
5:39 frame of reference there
5:41 and it's kind of a big glare was it
5:43 wasn't prepared for this I didn't print
5:44 anything out but
5:45 thankfully I'm not using the back side
5:47 of water I'm using the back side of the
5:48 Philly Captain his back because he's
5:49 wearing a darker shirt right so I was
5:51 able to block the sun I got a big
5:53 backside as we were driving over you
5:55 were saying there's a Boys to Men video
5:56 that was filmed at the community gardens
5:58 over here no it was filmed in this
6:00 basketball of course the boys the boys
6:01 The Men Who Sat On Top of the Nets they
6:03 they sang and won you really yeah Wanye
6:06 was up there singing really I couldn't
6:08 tell you what song it was because it was
6:10 after the two album yeah I bought the
6:12 two album I'll make love to you all
6:14 those songs I I forgot the name of the
6:17 other yeah yeah Motown Philly back again
6:19 doing a little East Coast thing very
6:21 good right I know my some of my old
6:23 school Boys to Men what's your favorite
6:25 policeman song Motown Philly back again
6:28 doing a little easy I think it might be
6:29 a bad influence on my sunglasses every
6:31 time I'm with you I end up bending the
6:34 sunglasses completely out of fashion
6:36 like just look at this what happened to
6:38 the thick sunglasses you used to wear
6:40 used to wear thicker sunglasses I did
6:42 and I lost a pair and I bought a pair
6:44 like this on Hollywood Boulevard I
6:46 thought I I'm never going to wear
6:48 aviators more than one day and I wore
6:50 them one day and then I just never
6:51 stopped wearing them now I'm an aviator
6:53 guy I think I think the other way the
6:56 glasses last you longer enough they're
6:57 probably these are like eight bucks
7:00 come on stop and what I'm noticing about
7:02 this neighborhood is how wide the
7:04 sidewalks are they take right
7:06 so there's hardly any parking look at
7:09 that tree like the roots yeah that's
7:11 unique what are they doing over here
7:13 what are they doing to the road I'm
7:14 probably going to fix the gas pipes our
7:16 City's so old all of our pipes are
7:18 getting replaced okay her random streets
7:20 are exploding so maybe we should
7:22 skedaddle and get out of here we just
7:24 talked to a local ask if there's a good
7:25 coffee shop around he suggested over
7:27 here on fairmounts they have a good
7:30 coffee shop which happens to be right
7:31 next to the eastern states pen yeah Al
7:36 Capone
7:37 you all about Alcatraz but this is the
7:39 other prison hello friend we see you
7:42 um
7:43 hopefully he haunted us for crossing
7:45 when the green light uh Al Capone was
7:47 imprisoned here for a year
7:50 there was a guy who broke out of prison
7:51 his jail cell really great
7:54 on this this side of the wall
7:57 now they have a garden
8:02 just go over the wall like how did he go
8:02 he dug under he like he and he defraimed
8:05 it really so right in here somewhere
8:09 Hey where's the spot
8:17 where's my spot I'm sorry where's the
8:17 spot where the prisoners
8:19 no I did okay
8:25 visitors okay don't be able to tell you
8:25 uh it's right here somewhere like I
8:27 thought you would know the spots that
8:28 you're digging holding I think he came
8:30 out on him
8:38 I don't know fair amount okay so he did
8:38 a fair amount of digging he did a lot of
8:41 digging would you say he did a fair a
8:43 fair amount yeah I make bad jokes this
8:45 is Fairmount Ave a fair amount of
8:48 digging so the lady was saying that she
8:51 thinks that the Escape happened over
8:53 here look there's people digging right
8:55 now maybe you don't know
8:58 that Tim Robbins does this hit right
9:00 here is this the hole
9:02 I don't think so I think Andy Dufresne
9:05 April crawled through five miles of dung
9:11 to be free on the other side Andy
9:15 Dufresne
9:16 I just wanted to see my friend if you
9:20 had to break out of prison but you had
9:22 to crawl through 500 yards of that stuff
9:24 would you do it absolutely yeah me too
9:26 freedom is so important this is
9:28 interesting if they walk the bike up
9:30 elevated like that the bike is locked up
9:32 so this is called
9:34 ocf Coffee House
9:45 The Beehive of activity inside of the
9:45 ocf coffee house piping hot caffeinated
9:49 beverage
9:50 achieved
10:02 do tours inside We're not gonna do one
10:02 today we're going to try to cover a lot
10:03 of ground
10:04 but Philly Captain was telling me they
10:06 will not let you film inside
10:09 you can't film in there right yeah you
10:11 can't film in there worse worst idea for
10:14 any museum is to not allow YouTubers to
10:16 film it's just free advertising
10:23 yeah I'm telling my viewers that you're
10:23 uh a national Treasurer and that that
10:26 news helicopter means there's definitely
10:28 something bad going on around here
10:29 pretty neat though you can see the the
10:31 guard Tower up there what was the guard
10:33 Tower up on the corner this prison is
10:35 the prison that started solitary
10:37 confinement really like the whole Breeze
10:40 in this prison was built was for
10:42 pennants you had to because prisons
10:44 before this prison was built it was kind
10:47 of fun like it wasn't you didn't really
10:50 get punished but in here you had
10:52 solitary confinement for 23 hours
10:55 and uh this is the one that started it
10:58 all yeah yeah I guess mental torture
11:01 look over here it says no littering
11:02 violators
11:04 will be eagleed subjects subject to
11:07 Eagles that's an old Eagle sticker
11:09 you're saying Charles Dickens was in
11:10 there Charles Dickens he spent like a
11:12 year or two in Philly yeah and he went
11:15 to this prison and he wrote back that he
11:17 saw it was like the most horrible things
11:20 that they were doing to human beings
11:22 happened in that prison just them being
11:24 separated I just I just blocked you okay
11:33 but uh so he uh yeah so Charles Dickens
11:33 what's that yeah
11:43 all right can you tell your Sirens from
11:43 another
11:44 that is gonna be a fire truck
11:51 I saw it I did too oh
11:51 this is not what I thought at first I
11:53 was like what the heck is holding up
11:54 this street sign here
11:56 this looks like uh well I don't want to
11:58 say what it looks like
11:59 human waste yeah human waste or elephant
12:02 waste holding up the sign here
12:05 no it's definitely not though it's more
12:07 yeah it's more stuck in there the fun
12:10 thing is though there's not even a slime
12:11 left on it now I don't follow football
12:14 baseball is really the only sport I
12:16 follow but I feel the captain was saying
12:18 this is Jalen Jalen hurts the evil
12:21 starting quarterback he was the
12:22 quarterback for the Eagles when uh we
12:23 were in the Super Bowl just a few days
12:25 ago
12:26 you were in the Super Bowl a few days
12:28 ago it feels like it
12:30 so what is this Philly versus everyone
12:31 mean we have a saying about Philly like
12:35 people don't like people from Philly
12:37 people don't like Philadelphia sports
12:39 fans we have a a song we sing at
12:43 sporting events we sing no one likes us
12:46 no one likes us no one likes us we don't
12:50 care we're from Philly F until we no one
12:55 likes us we don't care but we curse I
12:57 don't yeah I know it's one of your Vlogs
12:59 and in case I don't see any more I want
13:01 to show these cherry blossoms that are
13:03 in Full Effect probably we'll see a
13:04 bunch of them but
13:05 there's something right there
13:07 they're everywhere yeah it's Cherry
13:10 Plaza now last time I was in Philly
13:11 which is interesting it was I was here
13:13 like a month ago I showed a couple of
13:16 trading Trading Places spots but didn't
13:19 show this one
13:20 this is where Jamie Lee Curtis
13:22 they come walking down these stairs
13:24 right they're walking out of here Jamie
13:26 Lee Curtis
13:27 um Jamie Lee Curtis was standing on that
13:30 column over there Dan Acker where he
13:32 comes walking out of that prison and
13:34 Jamie Lee Curtis comes over and hooks up
13:36 with them on those steps right there
13:37 that was the prison in trading places
13:40 announce the Community College of Philly
13:42 used to be the United States man oh the
13:44 Old Mint yeah
13:47 so I'm doing all the Trading Places
13:49 spots and I'll do one every time I'm
13:51 here so after a couple years I'll have
13:52 hit every one of them not in order if
13:55 you want to see a video Trading Places
13:57 video locations check out my YouTube
14:00 channel I did a full video about it yeah
14:02 and in case you didn't hear the Philly
14:03 Captain he did an extensive Trading
14:06 Places location on his channel and as
14:10 this garbage truck goes by I just want
14:11 to say
14:13 here we are the real Citizen Bank
14:18 non-park here
14:20 in Philadelphia
14:22 Pennsylvania did I do you justice
14:31 that's a real Citizens Bank yeah you can
14:31 kind of see downtown from here as well
14:33 the downtown Skyline City skyline
14:36 we found a parking spot we're gonna take
14:38 a Brisk little walk over to the Liberty
14:40 Bell
14:41 or to the area the Liberty bells in how
14:43 far is it from where we just parked five
14:45 blocks five blocks this underpass looks
14:48 awesome over here so there's paintings
14:50 on the side and there's also some Neon
14:53 how cool is this
14:56 I do love some neon I love Samira did I
15:00 show you the tunnel last time no I don't
15:02 think he showed me a tunnel okay
15:11 I've never seen this before either here
15:12 at this roundabout
15:13 right off the freeway
15:21 there's a little sculpture here of a
15:21 kite up in the air and a key and a
15:23 lightning bolt
15:25 Franklin
15:26 flying the Kite with the key and the
15:28 lightning ball hit it
15:33 let's see some storm clouds rolling in
15:33 too
15:35 it's gonna rain later
15:36 maybe some lightning
15:38 we should go find a kite and a key
15:41 it's a horrible idea they call that guy
15:43 a genius and he flew a kite with a key
15:45 during during a lightning storm The
15:48 Fifth Street tunnel
15:50 according to you has what we see mural
15:54 in the city of Philadelphia at least is
15:56 it down these stairs
16:02 police scene mural
16:02 of Guess That Smell just now
16:10 yes that smell
16:10 that should be a new series on your
16:11 channel Guess That Smell with the Philly
16:14 Captain I guess this smell in one sniff
16:17 oh I know that smile
16:19 I know that smell
16:23 okay this is cool
16:36 so that's the Ben Franklin Bridge down
16:36 here is the best across Bridge or
16:38 branches
16:53 this is pretty neat
16:59 so Whitman's Chocolate started here at
16:59 the Chocolate Factory yep
17:01 oh yeah definitely a stench in here a
17:05 little bit of an odor
17:07 all Whitman yeah for him
17:34 what I don't know
17:34 something's growing right there okay
17:36 this is cool though
17:39 directly underneath the Benjamin
17:41 Franklin Bridge well the entryway to the
17:43 Ben Franklin if I break one down I'll
17:45 give you a dollar
17:49 that's disgusting
17:49 stalact tights or stalact mites
17:52 which is which one goes up one goes down
17:56 yeah I don't know
17:59 I thought maybe you know because I don't
18:00 remember let us know in the comments
18:02 there you go you're doing some
18:04 interacting that's right you want them
18:06 to comment make sure you hit like too
18:07 it's always nice to let people know you
18:09 like them you can see the Heat
18:11 coming right out of here look at this
18:19 that is warm yeah
18:19 that's where the chuds are
18:21 the chuds love
18:26 now I'll tell you how much of a
18:27 Philadelphia novice I am with when it
18:29 comes to like stuff so when I saw this
18:31 and I drove past this a month or so ago
18:33 when I was here I thought this was yo
18:35 when Rocky would say
18:38 right but it's not it is it's a museum
18:43 it's supposed to say oi right it's it's
18:45 he's laughing he's laughing at me I
18:48 thought it was right
18:49 I thought it was Rocky saying yo
18:52 is it when you walk out of the Jewish
18:54 History Museum it says boy okay so going
18:58 in so it is made for that reason oh
19:00 interesting okay
19:06 now we impulsively kind of had an idea
19:06 to go
19:07 see the Liberty Bell but it is
19:10 approaching Easter and there's a lot of
19:12 there's a lot of people you know Easter
19:13 is coming up soon
19:15 so the Liberty Bell what's that probably
19:17 an hour wait you see Liberty Bell that's
19:18 about a 30 minute wait okay I'll tell
19:20 you the true fathom it's just a bell
19:21 with a crack in it I've seen the Liberty
19:24 Bell before Oh there's a shortcut if you
19:26 ever come to Philadelphia and you only
19:28 got like 10 minutes and you want to see
19:29 the Liberty Bell you ain't gotta wait in
19:31 line there's a spot right next to the
19:33 side of the Liberty Bell yeah you can
19:35 peek your head in and you can see the
19:36 bell with the crack and we'll do that
19:38 let's do that yeah but also you tried to
19:40 get a reservation for Independence Hall
19:41 and you couldn't you said what the heck
19:42 why can't we get a reservation for Indy
19:44 hall right and then you realize oh
19:46 Easter Easter Crowds Are Here Yeah you
19:48 see all the people with their kids
19:49 wasting up don't they know Adam the
19:51 Woo's in town you wanted to see the
19:53 Liberty Bell but these people they don't
19:54 care about you Adam they care about
19:56 their family out there today
19:58 yeah there it is right there there's the
20:01 guy giving some info
20:02 people getting photos with it the kid
20:06 they clean this window once it's like
20:08 the dirtiest window and people come here
20:11 from all around the world they'll look
20:12 at the Bell
20:14 maybe they want you to go inside and
20:15 look at it no I'm not waiting in line
20:23 don't forget to see the historic stuff I
20:23 would wait a little bit uh 2026 is the
20:25 250th anniversary of America so
20:27 everything's getting spruced up right
20:29 now
20:30 uh but yeah the first time the
20:32 Declaration of Independence was read
20:33 publicly was read by a guy named John
20:35 Nixon who was the sheriff of
20:37 Philadelphia on these steps and I'm not
20:39 sure if it was
20:41 his ex but he stood here and he read the
20:43 Declaration of Independence outrageous
20:45 it's amazing oh here's the real Rocky
20:49 statue this is like this is the one most
20:51 people this is the one most people don't
20:53 know about there's not even though
21:17 yeah this is it that's everybody from
21:17 Philly talks like Rocky right because
21:19 everybody ever met they talked just like
21:21 see the guy behind us is like yelling
21:23 yelling that way too this is great
21:25 though look at the detail on this what's
21:28 he looking at you think uh
21:31 what's he looking out of there the
21:33 welcome sign
21:39 that's a pretty good view up here
21:39 Liberty View they call it
21:48 this is nice that gives you a night
21:48 that's the exact outline of George
21:50 Washington's house where he lived when
21:52 he was president
21:54 pretty neat that's where the house
21:56 really was right I think that's the
21:58 exact layout of the house yeah so that's
22:00 where his front door was that was
22:01 actually the same door design too
22:08 not much to see up here but it's still
22:08 awesome
22:12 and of course the buildings behind
22:12 Independence Hall you see the American
22:14 flag when that big flagpole yeah that
22:17 used to be a uh like a a an observation
22:20 tower but the thing was in 177 1976 when
22:24 that was an observation tower he
22:25 couldn't really see much there was no
22:26 Skyline but Queen Elizabeth and Prince
22:28 Philip went up to the top of the
22:30 observation tower back in 1976.
22:34 for the 200th anniversary yeah David
22:38 Washington he is a local broadcaster Who
22:41 Wants To Be A broadcast do a radio talk
22:44 okay you're listening to KYW News Radio
22:48 1060. hoop Double D wasn't enough
22:49 broadcasting serving Pennsylvania New
22:52 Jersey and Delaware on Independence Mall
22:55 wow so if anybody wants to hire a
22:58 broadcaster hire my buddy David
22:59 Washington I love it nice to meet you
23:09 sign up for DJ right now nice to meet
23:09 you what's your YouTube yeah my YouTube
23:10 channel is
23:11 kdjwd5 all right
23:13 that's me sounds good David all right
23:17 buddy
23:32 all right we drove a little bit of a
23:32 ways found more parking in this area
23:34 it's all back in parking
23:36 wow this person up here this this is
23:38 front end parking but behind us is
23:39 back-end parking South Philly it's South
23:41 Philadelphia you do whatever you want it
23:43 doesn't matter it's just chaos and
23:44 agriculture here
23:46 so when I was here a month or two ago
23:48 you took me to the best philly
23:50 cheesesteak Place John's Roast Pork
23:52 right which I had to agree we ate a
23:54 bunch of cheesesteaks but that was
23:56 definitely your opinion on that was
23:57 completely 100 accurate right not
23:59 opinions my facts your fact and now
24:02 you're gonna take me to what you state
24:05 is the best Hoagie place in Philadelphia
24:07 best hoagie Philadelphia is that
24:10 Richie's 111th Street
24:13 Richies Richie do you ever go to a place
24:15 you ever gonna get you ever get a Subway
24:17 and you get one of those disgusting
24:18 sandwiches yeah and the lunch meat's
24:21 already pre-cut and they open up the
24:23 rapper and they place that stuff down
24:25 Richie's
24:27 he don't do that but he does you want an
24:30 Italian hoagie he gets a piece of ham he
24:32 slices it right there you want a piece
24:35 of cap of coal just slice it right there
24:37 everything cut fresh to order every
24:40 Hoagie I'm getting Goosebumps thinking
24:43 about it because it's just it's so good
24:46 and I'm so excited that you're gonna
24:48 have this so a hoagie is basically a
24:50 Subway sandwich not not the company
24:52 it's what other people call a sub okay
24:56 and it's just a pile of lunch meat
24:59 lettuce tomato onion on a roll and of
25:02 course Philadelphia as we discussed
25:04 previously we had the breast best bread
25:07 in the world yeah and it right here here
25:10 it is Richie since 1920 yo they've been
25:13 making sandwiches for over a hundred
25:15 years how do you make sandwiches for 100
25:17 years that's how good they are
25:21 Richie's r-i-c-c-i
25:24 well I think there's technically called
25:25 it Ricky's I call it Ricky Ricky's yeah
25:34 let's do this
25:34 thinly sliced pickles down here those
25:37 look like sweet pickles not even Dill
25:39 are this Dill I don't even have it yeah
25:41 then we slice Tomatoes here we've got
25:44 the we want to eat it and they uh we've
25:47 got onions got the lettuce
25:52 I see
25:54 if you go to Subway they have the sale
25:56 we gave a little well years ago yeah
25:59 yeah
26:00 cut it right there right there in front
26:02 look at that we're going with the
26:05 old-fashioned Italia that's a lot of
26:07 meat on there too
26:13 having the sun run and they uh they were
26:13 such a fan of the place they bought it
26:15 so you live right across from the family
26:17 business no more I live in Jersey now
26:19 they live in Jersey I'm in hatterfield
26:21 oh really yeah
26:22 yeah yeah we're just over in Haddonfield
26:24 that's the the namesake from the
26:26 Halloween series all right for a
26:28 beverage I got something I've never
26:29 tried before Pennsylvania Dutch Birch oh
26:33 this is caffeine free all right I'll go
26:35 with it it's like a it's like uh old
26:36 Pennsylvania it's like root beer right
26:38 it's just like root beer yeah
26:40 he's doing like a little whisper thing
26:42 here saying this is like a secret well
26:44 the secret
26:46 the secret rap snacks
26:48 all right Richie doesn't want to be on
26:49 camera you know I was talking to your
26:51 wife the other day she said yo make sure
26:53 you put them on camera more
27:00 this smells so good
27:00 oh this smells so good
27:02 this is what we're dealing with
27:05 where are us made are they made here
27:07 we're here they are made here they sell
27:09 these
27:10 in downtown celebration I eat a lot in
27:13 Celebration Florida they have they
27:14 pronounce UTZ or OOTS
27:16 yeah but they're made in Philly yeah wow
27:20 all right so every time I have one I
27:21 don't know about Philly Pennsylvania
27:22 right us Pennsylvania I think so all
27:25 right yeah
27:26 they have transplanted to Florida
27:29 snacks I got the little baby are those
27:31 made here too barbecuing with my honey
27:39 your honey heat oh these are hot spicy
27:43 well they used to have aisles in there
27:43 like grocery aisle like like a corner
27:45 store yeah my dad used to have a little
27:48 store here like a little mom and pop
27:49 store here down here and we used to live
27:51 on the second and third yeah and you
27:53 gotta remodeled I'm going in
27:55 all right guys looks good how does it
27:58 eat
28:03 people love the old bathroom get gotta
28:03 get a bite of that bottom you gotta get
28:04 that that provolone
28:08 but you don't like the shark I like the
28:11 sharp I like the Purdue I'm not crazy
28:13 about this people love the super sauce
28:16 that's good come on I know it's good
28:18 that's a good sandwich
28:20 best Hoagie in the city look at that you
28:23 just beat the rush too the line was out
28:25 the door really that is good yeah I was
28:29 I was thinking I was like oh one o'clock
28:30 it's probably gonna be super busy
28:35 what it's a tasty sandwich
28:41 first off let's talk about the bread are
28:41 we even talking about the bright Apple
28:43 the bread the bread is really good who's
28:45 the bread
28:57 what kind of meat is it
28:57 Super Sod the roasted peppers in the
28:59 sharp hello okay that's the one we keep
29:02 winning awards for that one but people
29:05 love the tuna too and I'm not a tuna guy
29:07 but the Italian tuna is packed an olive
29:10 oil on the can oil drained on the bread
29:13 that sounds pretty good instead of mayo
29:15 some people don't get mayo in the tuna
29:30 wow yeah because a lot of people don't
29:30 like the Mayo so they like the oil from
29:32 the can on the bread yeah you got the
29:35 tuna in the oil yeah it's packed in
29:37 olive oil wow I always get to tune in
29:41 water I don't know why are you an
29:44 albacore guy
29:45 yo I'm the four pack for 3.99 knives
29:50 like that's the it's like probably like
29:53 three or four dollars a can I think oh
29:55 do you yell it what so where you went do
29:59 you do a lot of tuna Hoagies yeah you
30:01 know that Catholics we can't eat meat on
30:03 Fridays tomorrow would be okay yeah the
30:06 more Friday I'm not gonna be hungry
30:09 after this no there's a lot of meat on
30:11 me in that
30:20 if you guys adjust the recipes at all
30:20 nah these are they made 100. they didn't
30:23 have the old-fashioned we started that
30:25 when we got it oh we started the
30:27 old-fashioned when we got it
30:29 no Philly cheesesteaks here right just
30:31 no just Hoagies straight up Hoagies yup
30:34 dude most places do one or the other
30:35 some places do both yeah but most like
30:39 mama pop pizza shops you can get a
30:41 hoagie a cheese steak
30:43 and then you got right down the street
30:44 you got cheese steak corner you got the
30:46 patches yeah you don't want that passage
30:48 I've had them yeah I think uh John's
30:51 Roast Pork and I I like Jim's steaks too
30:53 I don't know but Kim steak is good I
30:56 want to try gems but I think it burned
30:57 right yeah they're fixing it up now they
30:59 bought the place next door to make it
31:00 bigger so
31:08 it's like a root beer yeah three bears
31:08 yeah it's a little bit sweeter I don't
31:10 know why I got excited said oh
31:12 Pennsylvania thinking I was in a
31:13 different state
31:14 Philly is in Pennsylvania right well
31:17 money
31:19 I've seen them as two separate things
31:22 I represent as a Philadelphian
31:25 fight as a Philadelphia Pennsylvania
31:28 okay
31:29 so there's Pennsylvania and there's
31:31 Philly right right
31:33 they're kind of like and most people
31:34 from New York City in New York right
31:36 exactly they were very accommodating
31:39 here and very nice in fact
31:41 they gave us a couple free t-shirts
31:44 for stopping in yeah we can act like
31:47 we're employees we can go behind the
31:48 counter
31:50 that's nice that's nice this place is
31:53 legit so now every time I'm in Philly I
31:55 go to John Rose pork so I can go to
31:58 yeah yeah yeah
32:07 I would imagine talking about food in
32:07 Philly is like bringing up
32:09 religion or politics yeah everyone has
32:11 an opinion oh okay yeah yeah but it's
32:14 you know what the thing is though people
32:15 don't like talk about politics and
32:17 religion
32:18 Philadelphia
32:22 yeah yeah
32:22 this is look at this
32:25 this is no joke there's not one
32:27 imperfection on this sandwich like
32:30 everything
32:31 freshly cut on site
32:34 the veggies the lettuce
32:36 onions
32:39 the meat a lot of meat on this right
32:42 very difficult to find parking down here
32:44 though very difficult to find parking
32:46 look at that everyone just double parked
32:48 and that's just not because of the food
32:50 place that's just because of the whole
32:51 neighbor no no somebody wants to turn
32:53 down this street they can't because yeah
32:57 but people know they understand now
32:59 they're getting a hoagie from Richie's
33:00 you gotta wait that made the commute
33:02 over to the Old Navy Yard
33:26 so this must be the air path where the
33:26 plans uh the planes land yeah the
33:29 airport is
33:32 about two miles that way
33:35 that plane's Landing over there
33:39 I noticed yesterday when I landed in DC
33:42 it's interesting when the plane comes in
33:44 it turns it tastes like a hard shift and
33:47 then lands it doesn't go straight in and
33:50 land all the planes go this way turns
33:53 and then lands
33:54 over downtown I'm guessing
34:02 this is wild
34:02 this whole wooden dock here
34:05 see some wasps up top
34:20 an Old Navy shipyard how big I mean the
34:20 aircraft carrier is so big
34:22 but can you imagine Landing a plane on
34:25 that yeah that's insane that they can do
34:28 that I mean I have the Tom Cruise Top
34:30 Gun aviators
34:31 does that give me credentials uh classic
34:33 truck alert over here now it's
34:36 interesting there's a lot of offices and
34:38 stuff on property but this building here
34:41 is the headquarters or at least the
34:44 associated with the headquarters of
34:46 Urban Outfitters
34:48 so you got area out here Urban
34:49 Outfitters and you go in this building
34:52 which I guess is where they used to work
34:54 on like a maintenance building of some
34:56 sort that they've transferred into like
34:58 a little
34:59 meditation garden and a snack bar and a
35:03 restaurant and all kind of stuff
35:05 very interesting I guess a set of a
35:07 building sitting empty and unused
35:09 they're utilizing it and it's kind of I
35:11 almost say it's thriving I'm sure like
35:13 at some points probably pretty busy in
35:14 here but yeah it's open for business
35:16 anyone can just walk in here and
35:18 check all this out very unique usage of
35:21 an old building
35:26 this is looking out the window
35:26 that was just showing
35:36 ships don't call it a boat
35:36 almost like a boat to me I was gonna
35:37 call it a boat fill the cap and said
35:39 don't call it a boat people who work in
35:41 the United States Navy if you call one
35:43 of their ships a boat yeah of course I
35:45 get it I don't looks like a boat
35:48 so what is it ever seen a ship and a
35:50 boat let us know in the comments you're
35:53 really you're interact you're uh
35:55 interacting with the comment section
35:56 dramatically today well I just want them
35:58 to tell you what the difference is yeah
36:00 that's how I get my answers
36:03 look at this
36:05 2300 volts below
36:23 this ain't just sitting here
36:24 oh there goes a tugboat going over there
36:25 a tug ship
36:27 so this would be a ship that would be a
36:29 boat it's a tugboat it's a tug boat and
36:31 this is a aircraft carrier so is it a
36:35 carrier or a ship or a boat I'm just
36:36 going to call it a boat does it kind of
36:38 line 200 is pretty awesome
36:40 definitely could be lived in as the
36:44 has the curtains there this is awesome
36:47 got the little uh
36:49 it's got the little hula dancers right
36:51 there on the
36:52 on the dash
36:54 this is nice it's got a two flat tires
36:57 it's got two flat tires okay that's not
36:59 nice the inspection stickers are at the
37:02 valley
37:03 that's a great I would I would buy this
37:05 fix it up and drive it around
37:07 that is awesome I love I love old Vance
37:10 and not too far from where we just were
37:12 a couple hundred yards away
37:14 is how is the former housing area the
37:18 Navy Yard
37:20 all closed up now but this is where
37:23 a lot of them in the Navy left
37:29 it's crazy because these buildings
37:29 are
37:31 like the buildings itself the brick and
37:33 mortar
37:34 they seem like they're okay we can't go
37:36 too far in here with the no trash pants
37:38 but
37:40 like the houses themselves
37:43 they look
37:45 uh
37:48 rather livable
37:50 and but yeah it's just overgrown
37:53 and uh
37:56 I don't know it's just it's just a weird
37:58 thing like an empty neighborhood like
38:00 this it's totally empty it's like all
38:01 the doors have been taken off
38:10 what river is this over here that's the
38:10 Delaware River that's the Delaware
38:11 that's the river George Washington cross
38:14 back in the day that's the that's the
38:17 one back in the day a few years ago yeah
38:19 back in the day
38:21 a few years ago
38:27 last time I hung out with you I had a
38:27 stupid thing I said that Ben Franklin's
38:29 grave I said
38:30 yeah Ben Franklin was known for that
38:32 check out Philly Captain merch you can

39:12 George Washington said Ben Franklin
39:14 George Washington's the one that said
39:16 buy a penny take a penny no Ben Franklin
39:18 says
39:19 by Infinity leave Infinity take a penny
39:22 it's a pretty nice little view here huh
39:24 how deep you think this is oh so is that
39:28 Delaware over there now that's New
39:30 Jersey oh we don't want to go there nah
39:32 nobody wants to go there all right I'm
39:34 just going to end the video here now
39:35 okay the Vlog I'll see in the next video
39:37 the Vlog
