0:19 woo I want to talk about my van the Ford

0:27 2006 is the year that they produced this

0:31 model I got this van in 2007 it had

0:36 1,000 miles on it when I bought

0:39 it the hub caps have since fallen off I

0:43 have gotten a few different

0:45 Tires over these years that I've owned

0:48 this van but the hubcaps have all

0:51 sporadically over different occasions

0:54 and different situations fallen off we

0:57 lost one a few years ago then another

1:00 year later I lost another one then a few

1:02 months later I lost the third one and

1:05 the last one held on tightly for quite

1:07 some time until

1:09 finally it ended up biting the dust by

1:12 hitting a pothole in the road and losing

1:15 final the final Hub Cap so now there are

1:19 no hubc caps when I first got the van

1:23 the van did not have tinted windows and

1:25 because I slept in my van for two or

1:28 three about 3 years of I traveled across

1:32 the US

1:33 OFA I tended the windows with limo tent

1:36 I put some curtains up since then I have

1:38 taken the curtains down I have not been

1:40 residing in my van anymore I've actually

1:42 moved to Southern California but I

1:44 wanted to show you what's inside the van

1:46 now now please do not get discouraged

1:48 because it is a mess in there I have not

1:51 thoroughly cleaned my van out in quite

1:54 some time months and months and months

1:57 so there are a lot of water bottles

1:59 there are a lot of bags in there there

2:00 are a lot of assorted things in fact I

2:02 don't even know what you're going to see

2:04 when I actually open this door so let's

2:07 go inside the van I'm actually not going

2:10 to clean the van out in the Vlog because

2:13 I do not want to deafen you guys by the

2:15 sounds of this plus it's going to take a

2:18 while I need to go through some of the

2:19 paperwork that is underneath the cup

2:21 holder underneath there that's kind of

2:23 like the makeshift glove box of a van a

2:26 Ford E150 van but I will show you what's

2:29 inside talk about the fate and the

2:31 future of the van and ask some questions

3:29 water bottles which just shows you how

3:31 much water I've been drinking with the

3:33 occasional Mountain Dews mixed in and

3:36 look back there there's actually some

3:38 bags of

3:40 mulch because at the

3:43 homestead I actually did some stuff

3:46 around the flower garden I actually just

3:49 dropped a bag

3:55 there I will pick all this up

3:55 momentarily and throw all of this away

3:58 so I will not leave that I will discard

4:00 all of that into that brute trash can

4:05 I'll call the brute Squad I'm on the

5:11 drink this huge Mountain Dew but I went

5:22 were sold out all they had was Diet

5:23 Mountain Dew I do not like Diet Mountain

5:25 Dew plus the 16 o du were $189 so I

5:29 walked over to the produce area they had

5:31 like a bunch of energy drinks and juices

5:33 and stuff and this was only

5:37 9 that was only 9 so I said heck it why

5:42 not just get the bigger one only drink

5:44 half of it and I'm still saving money

5:48 which is crazy and awesome and as you

5:50 can see I have DOS down here that I

5:52 haven't really even tapped into I've had

5:54 these 12 packs for a while this one I've

5:56 kind of tapped into a little bit and

5:58 there's actually a soda here that's warm

6:00 but I don't really like warm Mountain

6:02 Dew I've been drinking a lot of water I

6:05 go through probably one of these 12

6:08 packs 24 pack

6:10 Waters probably every few days maybe

6:13 every four or 5 days I keep these above

6:16 the fridge at the house and I go through

6:18 a ton of these

6:19 Waters so let's talk about the fate of

6:22 the van I moved to Southern California

6:25 traffic is brutal out here gas is way

6:28 more expensive than California than it

6:30 is in other areas of the country now I

6:32 will be flying to Atlanta for Dragon Con

6:34 first week of September I will be flying

6:38 to Knoxville Tennessee for a Gatlinburg

6:43 Pigeon Forge exciting time that I will

6:45 be spending there in

6:47 November I will also be flying to

6:50 Florida in December for a couple weeks

6:52 probably 10 days to two weeks and I will

6:55 be spending Christmas time with family

6:57 and friends out there and I'm thinking

6:59 about doing a road trip as well sometime

7:03 intermittently between all those time

7:05 periods I'm thinking about going out

7:06 into the desert Monument Valley going up

7:09 into Utah

7:10 Colorado those areas and I'm thinking

7:13 about doing that maybe possibly the end

7:15 of September I probably will rent a car

7:19 I don't know if I will take the van

7:20 because as the amount of miles that are

7:22 on there are still running very very

7:24 well but I don't know how many more good

7:27 road trips the van has in it which

7:29 brings me to this quandry this question

7:33 that I have for you guys should I keep

7:36 the van in the future should I sell the

7:40 van and should I not downgrade but grade

7:44 downwardly I guess that's the same as

7:46 downgrading to a vehicle that gets way

7:49 better gas mileage this van gets 12

7:50 miles to the gallon so you can imagine a

7:53 35 gallon tank at $3.50 $4 a gallon

7:57 sometimes just to drive to La just just

7:59 to drive to Hollywood just to drive

8:01 around down to San Diego in those areas

8:03 just around the LA area you can imagine

8:06 how much money is shelled out of my

8:08 wallet into the gas tank so I got to

8:11 thinking if I was to either keep the van

8:13 get another vehicle make payments on the

8:16 payments I'm making on the other vehicle

8:18 would probably be about the same as what

8:21 I'm putting in gas in the van now none

8:25 of these things will come into fruition

8:27 until next year but I just wanted to get

8:29 your guys opinion on what I should do in

8:32 the future of the van the van will stay

8:34 in my possession probably forever but if

8:37 I consider selling it based on your

8:39 opinions and what I think of mentally

8:42 over the next few months I probably will

8:44 keep the van another year or so so I'm

8:46 thinking around this time next year I

8:49 probably will consider getting another

8:51 vehicle and here's another

8:54 question after you leave comments

8:56 whether I should get rid of the van or

8:57 keep the van should I keep the van and

9:01 should I get another vehicle and keep

9:03 both vehicles should I keep the van just

9:05 to have it in case I need to move

9:07 something around if I get some wild

9:09 hairbrained idea to go on another road

9:11 trip and sleep in the back of the van

9:14 the thing that's interesting it's very

9:16 there's a lot of Romanticism to sleeping

9:18 in a van I did it for 3 years it

9:21 definitely changed my life it definitely

9:24 had me see the world in a totally

9:27 different Outlook and I am super

9:29 grateful for that and even though I

9:32 saved a lot of money I started to do the

9:35 math based on the amount of money I

9:37 spent in gas in the van driving around

9:41 the country the amount of money I spent

9:43 in a 12 m per gon van I could have

9:47 probably I could have probably paid for

9:50 a cheap motel occasionally for about the

9:53 same price a$ 30 $40 Motel each night

9:57 instead of just driving around

9:59 constantly trying to find a place to

10:00 park probably would have been a little

10:02 bit more expensive for the hotels but a

10:04 lot of that price would have been

10:06 negated based on how much gas I was

10:09 spending on the van so should I in the

10:11 future this is not happening this week

10:13 this month or even this year it probably

10:15 will not happen until early next year

10:19 2016 but I wanted to put the feelers out

10:21 there I wanted to get your guys opinion

10:24 on what I should do with this the van

10:31 part of my life for an incredibly long
