0:41 Lakeland Antique Mall hopefully traffic

0:44 is not too bad I4 westbound do some

0:48 shopping over there and get one or two

0:50 maybe just one maybe

0:52 two Christmas decorations for my

0:55 Homestead I should probably start I'm

0:57 not going all in this year cuz it's it's

0:59 right around the corner but I should get

1:02 something to

1:04 celebrate my celebration homesteads

1:07 Christmas for the first time I turned my

1:09 keys to my apartment on New Year's Eve

1:11 last year and officially moved into my

1:14 house on January 1st even though I got

1:16 the keys a little before that I was

1:18 moving was a whole thing but I turned

1:19 the keys into my apartment and

1:20 officially became a homeowner with no

1:24 other

1:25 apartment on New Year's Day so this is

1:28 officially my first Christmas it's kind

1:30 of a gray area but I need to purchase

1:31 something to celebrate this and then

1:33 I'll see where the rest of the day leads

1:35 join me it's a long intro I

1:43 know that's good shall you got the self-

1:44 pumping gas

1:45 Nole just filled it up ended up getting

1:48 some fuel I think it was $32 a gallon if

1:51 I remember correctly fueled up oh yeah

1:55 treat I4 westbound looking pretty smooth

2:11 while one of the rare times I for

2:13 westbound is not too backed up because

2:26 Lakeland shouldn't take too long maybe

2:28 40 minutes to the antique mall last

2:31 night I watched a grinch great Christmas

2:34 movie when I think of other Christmas

2:36 movies I think of Edward Scissor Hands I

2:37 was just reminded that there is a

2:39 location in Lakeland so I might stop by

2:42 there too just to see it notice there's

2:44 a rest stop here maybe about 10 miles

2:46 down the road from where I was going

2:48 halfway between here in the Lakeland

2:50 Antique Mall there's a picnic area I

2:53 don't think I've ever stopped at this

2:54 rest stop I go to travel a lot and I do

2:56 stop at a lot of rest stops but

2:58 usually if I'm just going to Tampa or St

3:01 Pete I bypassed this one to go a little

3:03 bit farther down the road before needing

3:04 to stop a lot of cones right

3:09 here I always like to point out the fact

3:11 that you will rarely see every picnic

3:13 table at a rest stop utilized sometimes

3:17 you'll see one I'd say one out of every

3:19 30 times I stop at a rest stop I will

3:30 picnicking I see a restop pick table

3:30 always like a National Lampoon Vacation

3:32 with the dog wet on the picnic basket

7:15 season everyone's at the mall I'm going

7:16 to go before walking in there realize

7:19 there's a Lowe's next door see what kind

7:21 of Christmas decor they have in there

7:23 probably just Inflatables I kind of want

7:25 blow molds but let see what they got in

7:26 in Lowe's over

7:28 here and then antique time be a good

15:20 the booths are going to be in different

15:23 some are going to stay some are going to

15:24 go Lakeland antique mall is still

15:26 sticking around but in Lakeland but not

16:18 are going to have more room in their own

16:20 spot they're pretty excited about going

16:25 you're a frequent Shopper or have been

16:28 in here back to this back corner it will

16:30 only be here for a couple more months

16:32 give or take a month no exact dates yet

16:48 but I would have had this when I went to

16:48 Hawaii this is basically like my vibe

18:10 I made it over to the Southgate Shopping

18:14 Center probably about 5 six miles from

18:16 the Lakeland Antique

18:19 Mall Tim Burton shows this because he

18:21 liked this Archway so we filmed quite a

18:24 few scenes here from Edward scissor not

18:27 necessarily A Christmas film but they

18:29 ended up having some of the ending

18:31 scenes happening around Christmas

18:33 Christmas lights and all

18:43 that the majority was filmed of the

18:44 house was over near loots near Tampa

18:47 they filmed definitely quite a bit right

18:49 here where Anthony Michael Hall was with

18:52 wona ryer standing at the base there she

18:54 having a little bit of an Embrace and

18:57 Edward was over in this corner staring

18:59 longingly this love

19:01 for my known as character got in the van

19:05 and drove off he was very sad went to

19:07 the hardware store look at the knife

19:09 sharpening there's also another scene

19:11 where Johnny DPP as Edward was walking

19:14 here with the hairdresser this was the

19:15 hairdressing shop covered this before

19:17 but just because I was in the area

19:19 figured I'd check it

19:22 out this was the was all cover this was

19:26 all glass at one point and you can look

19:27 into where the hair salon

19:30 was my buddy world of mik has done a

19:32 very detailed video on all the location

19:34 he's been back here quite a few times

19:35 too I think he was here recently again I

19:37 just happen to be in the area and when I

19:39 am this is definitely one of those

19:40 places you don't want to not stop by if

19:43 you're within a couple miles of it South

19:45 Kate shopping

19:47 center and I love the fact that it still

19:49 looks pretty much exactly the same the

19:50 front they painted made it very Tim

19:53 bertony with the the coloration and that

19:56 retro look around the front but this

19:57 Archway still looks EX exactly the

20:00 same it's almost like its own golden

20:02 arch it's not Mickey D's but it's a

20:04 different version of a golden arch this

20:07 is more or less the angle that you see

20:09 it was painted green and yellow and a

20:11 little more

20:21 retroyard and they pulled in to the

20:21 second spot so where that truck is the

20:23 red car next to it that's where the

20:25 family pulls that's where Edward pulls

20:27 in for a brief moment into right there

20:31 and then he

20:32 sees his love interest over there in

20:34 that corner and just to show what it

20:36 look like then versus now anyway I just

20:39 wanted to stop off and check out a

20:40 little Edward Scissor Hands a little

20:41 Christmas action go into the Publix they

20:44 have some retro photos in here as well

20:47 but they also talk about Edward CES

20:50 hands and its movie debut Southgate

20:53 gained a fair amount of notoriety being

20:55 featured the 1990 movie Edward Scissor

20:58 Hands the Arch and shopping center

21:00 looked right out of the 1950s with its

21:02 retro looks also an old restaurant

21:05 across the way called sambos which is

21:08 now a dental place was also used and

21:10 that is the that's it right there Johnny

21:12 that walk it up over to the archway in

21:15 the

21:16 background there it

21:18 is while in Lakeland got to see the

21:20 dragon that's coming out of the ground

21:22 right here got a fullsize dragon in the

21:25 side yard

21:34 in the neighborhood with a brick on the

21:34 ground just need the Santa cap on it be

21:37 Christmasy all right going over to

21:39 another place called Dixie Land which

21:41 has some antiques as well and a painted

21:44 Gator here on the side of there looks

21:46 like kind of like a

21:47 shrimp some sort of a fruit right there

21:50 a thrift store now called something

21:52 Cottage thrift store Cottage or

21:54 something like that but check out all

21:55 this little coffee stuff you got mug

21:57 life coffee is brief for friends sipped

22:00 for pleasure and enjoyed by all you

22:04 can't buy happiness but you can buy

22:05 coffee and that's pretty close and then

22:07 also coffee a warm and delicious

22:09 alternative to hating everybody every

22:11 morning forever name of the place is

22:14 Colleen Cottage Thrift Antiques and more

22:18 I think last time I was in town I

22:20 noticed that over here is a really good

22:23 kind of old school looking sub shop one

22:25 day not today but one day I want to eat

22:27 there at the Subs and Such right there

22:29 just look at that building that is like

22:30 a relic of time this is Dixie Land

22:34 relics guess they had relics on the

22:47 brain you can have an antique date night

22:50 shop this is really cute it's an old

23:22 globe inside I'm going to buy a 1954

23:34 the shop into this back door there's a

23:36 whole other area back here there some

23:46 ladders bonsai trees right here always

23:46 wanted a bonsai except I have a fake

23:48 Bonsai in my house so I don't know if a

23:51 real Bonsai would

23:53 survive have a fake one chandelier in

24:15 just like some plastic
