0:09 must be bert reynolds or something
0:09 as much
0:28 it's my second channel daily vlog
0:28 channel it's the gay lee
0:35 stopped off here on the side of the road
0:35 since 2005 the homeowners right here
0:39 have been creating a thing called barbie
0:41 beach and i think that that is the
0:43 gentleman
0:44 who has created barbie beach
0:47 walking back
0:49 to his house there is a bag hanging here
0:51 with some pamphlets and it says
0:53 take one the women's beach volleyball
0:55 team won the gold medal at the turin
0:57 olympics in 2006
1:00 to honor them they brought in sand made
1:02 a volleyball net and six barbies this
1:05 culminated
1:06 into what is now
1:08 known
1:10 as barbie beach you can see there's a
1:13 variety of kins and barbies sans
1:16 clothing hanging out
1:18 in mort's bar and there's even a few
1:21 riding some horses and if you look
1:23 closely on the side
1:25 there's a couple barbies that looks like
1:26 they had a wild night of partying and
1:29 they're just hanging out over in the
1:30 corner
1:32 little inebriated i don't know the back
1:34 story on this situation but woody from
1:36 toy story
1:38 has two barbies behind
1:41 some sort of jail cell the thing i love
1:43 about traveling is you never know what
1:45 you're gonna find on the side of the
1:46 road in this case it just so happens to
1:49 be
1:50 that and where i parked my van has been
1:52 designated barbie parking
1:55 now i'm not barbie nor am i ken
1:58 so am i technically allowed to park
2:00 right there
2:02 i sure hope so
2:04 i didn't get a ticket
2:12 yeah if i was in the market for
2:12 groceries
2:13 i don't know if i'd trust
2:16 this place
2:21 we are now heading into the historic
2:21 sonoya district
2:23 and this little area has been used in
2:26 countless
2:27 amounts of television shows and movies i
2:29 love these small towns and the size of
2:32 their city halls
2:34 there's the water tower
2:36 look at this place i could see why
2:38 production companies would choose this
2:40 little area and all along the sidewalk
2:42 there are markers of some of the
2:45 productions
2:46 that were filmed here in town they're
2:49 all along the road here in fact there's
2:51 a little tour going on right now i think
2:53 those tours are always cool but i kind
2:55 of like to go my own way i kind of like
2:57 to be a loner dottie a rebel but if you
2:59 ever show up to town
3:01 you can buy a zombie filming location
3:04 map
3:05 for ten dollars a couple scenes from
3:07 fried green tomatoes was here
3:09 i love that movie of course
3:11 driving miss daisy
3:13 morgan freeman was here oh man drop dead
3:17 devo was filmed here that has got to be
3:19 the most
3:20 fluffy blinged out bike i've ever seen
3:24 that is cool oh look what else was
3:26 filmed here
3:27 and don't look now
3:29 are those zombies
3:31 are those zombies ah heck it you know
3:33 what i'm gonna buy into the consumerism
3:35 and get some
3:37 walking dead
3:38 oh excuse me waking dead
3:41 coffee like your pen holder here
3:44 thanks
3:51 whoa look at that up there it's a zombie
3:51 head
3:58 according to this i'm drinking the
3:58 official walking dead coffee and there's
4:01 some kind of noise going on over there
4:03 sounds like a chainsaw is leatherface
4:05 out here if daryl dies we riot
4:09 let's be honest no one is gonna riot
4:12 it's not gonna happen and look at this
4:14 it's the official walking dead
4:16 store
4:18 wow they have a lot
4:20 of walking dead stuff in here look at
4:23 this place what if i should wear this
4:24 around my neck i wonder if someone would
4:26 legitimately bite me if i wore that you
4:28 can buy a brains cupcake kit
4:31 that is freaking awesome
4:34 i'm not sure why but there is a siren
4:37 going off right now does that mean the
4:39 zombies are gonna start stomping around
4:41 these sidewalks and streets
4:44 what the heck
4:54 why is there a siren going off what the
4:54 heck have i wandered into
5:09 this town is moderately
5:09 that is my cue to get the heck whoa
5:13 i think i pulled this a little too close
5:15 to the curb
5:17 oh my gosh i hope my tire's not flat
5:19 look at this traffic jam
5:21 people are turning around and coming
5:23 back the other direction
5:25 what's going on up there
5:28 the threat of zombies
5:30 a siren in town warning people and now a
5:32 traffic jam
5:34 what the heck is this
5:42 check this out
5:42 there's an old gas station and it's
5:44 still there buried
5:46 buried in the woods that's where the gas
5:48 pumps were
5:50 but if you look closely you can see
5:53 the building
5:54 completely submerged
5:57 in foliage
6:10 can i make it through this
6:10 oh
6:11 this is a tight squeeze
6:15 very tight squeeze
6:17 oh that was close
6:25 there is an old covered bridge up here
6:25 i think i'm just going to pull over and
6:27 walk through that
6:28 because i don't know if my van exceeds
6:32 the weight limit
6:42 i'm thinking it was a wise decision that
6:42 i didn't drive across this because look
6:44 you can see
6:46 you can see the bottom of the ground
6:48 through the bridge itself
6:50 look at this
6:55 wow look at this too
6:55 so i don't know if this is safe
6:57 for my van to be
6:58 careening through the center of it i
7:00 don't know about you but it's almost
7:02 nearly impossible for me to see a
7:05 covered bridge and not think of
7:07 beetlejuice lots of engravings on the
7:10 side of the walls there's a sign here
7:12 saying that the water reached this level
7:16 in 1994 which means
7:18 the entire interior of this was
7:21 completely flooded up to there some sort
7:23 of pod-like creatures have embedded
7:26 themselves in the wood
7:33 what is that
7:33 you don't see too many of these covered
7:34 bridges anymore so when you see one you
7:37 kind of have to walk through it
7:39 because it's a rare occurrence it's
7:40 almost like stepping back in time this
7:42 is the red oak creek covered bridge
7:44 built by horace king in the 1840s
7:48 although king is credited with the
7:50 construction of many covered bridges
7:52 throughout west georgia this is his only
7:55 surviving bridge of this design
7:59 391 feet long including the approaches
8:03 this structure is the oldest and longest
8:05 wooden covered bridge in georgia the
8:08 leaves are slowly starting to change and
8:11 fall
8:12 look at that
8:14 the changing of the seasons is slowly
8:18 beginning
8:27 roosevelt's little white house
8:27 straight ahead this should be very
8:28 interesting this is the spot where
8:30 franklin delano roosevelt
8:33 died
8:34 right over there behind this sign
8:37 let's go check it out
9:06 just left the museum
9:06 and now i'm standing right here
9:08 and i'm on my way
9:11 to what is known as the little white
9:13 house it's pretty interesting there was
9:15 a security checkpoint here
9:18 and a security checkpoint here
9:20 and then you would walk down to
9:22 basically his home away from home which
9:24 is where he would have spent
9:26 his very last moments alive
9:41 yeah so you're saying these were the
9:41 wishbones from his last meal
9:44 and the paper towels are from
9:46 from back then as well
9:48 that is
9:50 it's amazing if that's preserved like
9:52 that
9:54 and this is all electric he was very pro
9:57 electricity as you know
10:00 and this is the time that he died yes
10:02 so 336
10:04 everything in the room is original so
10:07 this is where he passed away in this
10:08 chair
10:09 oh he had the show okay so he had a
10:11 stroke in this chair yes
10:13 and they took him to his bedroom and
10:14 that's where he was pronouncing that is
10:17 the bedroom upstairs no it's through no
10:19 there's not an upstairs so he was in the
10:21 middle of having his portrait done this
10:22 was the easel uh-huh originally and
10:25 where is the portrait today the
10:26 unfinished it's gonna be up the left
10:28 walkway once you leave the video so it's
10:29 outside on the back side there's this
10:31 deck
10:33 overlooking another security post
10:36 so there was lots of security when he
10:38 lived here and inside there are panic
10:40 buttons
10:41 in case he needed to press one they
10:43 would run from their security post
10:45 inside
10:46 to see what he needed and now we're
10:48 going in his bedroom
10:56 this is the exact bed
10:56 that he died in right there
10:59 he laid here as he passed on
11:03 in that exact spot
11:05 that bed
11:08 is rather mind-blowing if you ask me
11:11 look at this toilet paper that's
11:14 original toilet paper
11:16 from when he was here
11:18 and look at how it is discolored over
11:20 time
11:21 you see it yeah i do see that he would
11:23 get aggravated because he kept dropping
11:24 things and so we had him put that in so
11:26 when he drop it in slide he could reach
11:28 behind him and pick it up so he pulled
11:30 this away from the wall so he could prop
11:32 himself in put his hands on both sides
11:34 and lower himself in the top this chair
11:36 that he is sitting in is the same chair
11:41 right in that room right there
11:44 the same chair and these are original
11:45 towels and there is his dog's chain look
11:48 at that just hanging there in the closet
11:51 so these scratches here i know the one
11:53 on the windows oh the one on the windows
11:55 oh right here
11:57 oh yeah yeah yeah
11:59 you might be able to get them yeah you
12:01 can faintly see some scratches on there
12:04 so those are the scratches
12:06 look at that yeah i can see them there's
12:08 scratches there
12:10 left by the dog did you scratch that
12:12 window
12:13 did you scratch that window i know it
12:15 was you that's incredible that you can't
12:17 see it on your phone oh yeah i can see
12:18 it it's there oh i see it now yeah
12:22 that is amazing that that is still there
12:24 that was amazing i've been to a lot of
12:26 historical places in my day and that was
12:28 one of the coolest ones because almost
12:30 everything in there 99 of everything
12:32 inside is from when he was actually in
12:36 there and the last stop on this tour is
12:38 inside this building the portrait that
12:41 was being created
12:42 when he died
13:17 look at this old little house
13:17 or maybe it was a gas station the murals
13:20 on the side is a woman waving
13:22 in a horse and carriage
13:25 hot
13:26 diggity dog
13:29 is that a hot dog stand
13:31 too bad it's not open because i am a
13:33 little hungry
13:36 old coca-cola convenience store
13:39 now that is awesome a cool little wooden
13:42 archway there made of trees
13:45 old gas pumps
13:47 look at those doors those are like
13:49 antiques
13:50 i love driving around back roads because
13:52 you never know what you're gonna see
13:54 and then also right up here is an
13:56 antique store and while it seems pretty
13:58 normal i notice on the side of the wall
14:00 it's part of the national register of
14:02 historical places that's so cool and i
14:04 love these steps these rock steps and
14:06 the way the side of the building is
14:08 look at this this is awesome
14:11 it's amazing the history that just lies
14:13 on the side of the road
14:22 look at these guys
14:23 we got some goats here on the side of
14:25 the road
14:26 what's up fellas oh and a dog
14:30 a couple dogs
14:32 just chilling with the goats
14:34 you know what's funny
14:36 look at the name of this road
14:38 adams avenue see you guys
14:41 see you
14:42 buddies that was cool
15:07 that's the chattahoochee river
15:07 way down yonder on the chattahoochee
15:10 it gets hotter than and by crossing that
15:12 river we are now in
15:15 but
15:23 sweet home alabama
15:23 vlog over
