0:08 2024 got my bags all packed up right
0:11 back there my hotel right here you can
0:14 see the baseball stadium off in the
0:17 distance over there you see it peeking
0:19 over the flags
0:20 are really very prominently blowing in
0:23 the wind I have an American Airlines
0:25 flight a layover in Washington DC and
0:28 then from DC it's only about a 55 to an
0:31 hour 55 minute to an hour layover in
0:33 Washington and then down to MCO Orlando
0:36 returning home this evening a little
0:40 flight day for
0:42 myself if you're watching this for you
0:44 as well join me good to have you here
0:48 shall you yeah I just like how the
0:49 stadium is peeking up went to the game
0:51 last night did a tour yesterday and the
0:52 game last night it's a good time to
0:55 raise barely one in the ninth inning
0:59 it's kind of UN usual
1:01 game great tour also when I checked in
1:04 here a few nights ago a couple nights
1:05 ago there's this little the check-in
1:07 desk is through that set of doors
1:09 there's another set of doors here they
1:10 have the heat on in this little room
1:11 it's like a sauna in there it's like the
1:13 hottest room other than a sauna that's
1:16 not meant to be that hot I think I've
1:18 ever been in this little tiny section
1:20 right here is boiling hot it has been
1:23 that way for the couple time couple
1:25 couple nights I was here I went ahead
1:27 and ordered an Uber it'll be here in
1:28 just a couple minutes heading over to
1:31 MK Milwaukee Airport this is the current
1:34 weather where I'm standing at this
1:35 moment 59° it's going to be a little
1:38 warmer in Florida
1:42 82° in
1:49 celebration 87 later at 400 p.m. I think
1:49 I land around 8 with the layover let's
1:51 see what it's going to be at 8:00
1:55 78° at
1:56 8:00 nice got pretty casual today with
1:59 my shorts and my Jurassic Park
2:03 Extinction shirt Universe Studios
2:05 Hollywood hard to believe it's been
2:07 since 2018 when Jurassic Park the ride
2:09 went away Jurassic world started to
2:11 formulate and eventually rear its head
2:14 I've been dropped

2:55 see a lot of older buildings but rarely

3:58 nice Title Here in in Milwaukee with the
4:01 Old Clock up top there which is kind of
4:04 neat look at that's that's a pretty bold
4:06 that's a pretty bold and
4:07 impressive achievement and take a look
4:10 at this how often do you see a bookstore
4:13 like this in an airport renaissance

4:18 books which is a bookstore it's like new
4:21 books and used books inside a freaking
4:24 airport I don't know if I've ever seen
4:26 that
4:27 before if I have I don't definitely
4:29 don't call it here's all the different

4:36 Northwest American West and there's the
4:39 one I'm flying American air today

4:44 Air did not expect to be walking through
4:46 a bookstore in an
4:58 airport probably the most
4:58 luggage travel it's bookstore in
5:01 existence I'm sure a lot of
5:08 people have their luggage walking
5:08 through here usually when you go to a
5:10 bookstore most people don't have
5:22 luggage interesting right look at this
5:22 Calvin and Hobbs oh that's cool what if
5:26 they have Far Side

5:37 number five $7 not a bad deal little

5:43 was when I was very young but still

5:51 you know before I get on the plane I
5:52 probably put it in my bag during the
5:53 plane maybe I can take I probably take
5:55 it on the plane and read it on the plane
5:56 I might get a little little seasickness
5:58 though by reading on a plane
6:00 icept I don't know if reading on a plane
6:01 is the same as like reading in a car
6:03 when I read in a car I get a headache
6:05 maybe I'll try it all right I have now
6:06 stepped into the Mitchell gallery of
6:08 Flight Museum big thanks to the guy at
6:11 the bookstore who said hey if you're
6:13 around there's some a couple other
6:15 unusual things in this airport check out
6:17 the Museum of Flight a few doors down
6:19 from the bookstore so I thanked him for
6:21 that and said I would definitely check
6:23 it out there is a Museum of Flight in
6:27 here as well which is really really
6:28 awesome I me sometimes you'll see like
6:30 little displays similar to something
6:32 like this in airports but you rarely
6:35 well not all I want to say rarely but
6:37 it's not every day you go to an airport
6:39 and see a fullon Museum of Flight and
6:43 here's General William Mitchell which I
6:45 believe the airport is named after I
6:47 believe that is the airport name is
6:50 named it's MK but I believe it's also
6:52 William Mitchell Airport I could be
6:55 wrong on that but I believe seeing
6:57 seeing the name there's his
6:59 musette bag M tte bag it's used when he
7:05 was second Lieutenant station in the
7:07 Philippines a couple old Airline chairs
7:18 there FF strike Captain FS FF
7:18 stripe airport landing oh wow an airport
7:21 landing register December 7th 1941 when
7:24 the Pearl Harbor they grounded all
7:26 flights except scheduled Airlines
7:28 airports and aircraft were affected
7:30 aircraft owners required to render the
7:31 aircraft inoperable not new use and
7:33 guarded civilian Pilots outside the V
7:36 vent
7:37 Zone were permitted to fly as long as
7:39 they designed protected airports
7:41 official Landing register or setup for
7:44 those flights so that's what this is
7:47 right there this is the official
7:48 register they had they had to jot down
7:51 all the different names of those who
7:53 were flying imagine if he still had to
7:55 do that in this day and age if he had a
7:57 written scribbl down book as opposed to
8:00 doing everything everything
8:09 online and looking at this gentleman
8:09 here kind of reminds me of the Guard
8:13 from Sha Shank Redemption he's been in a
8:15 lot of other stuff I think he was in a
8:17 few things recently too but doesn't he
8:19 kind of look like the guard from
8:22 Shashank I mean that was way before that
8:24 actor's time but kind of resembles him a

8:33 Spirit of St Louis is parked at the
8:35 Milwaukee County Airport today's General
8:37 Mitchell International Airport there's a
8:40 photo of it back in
8:43 1927 it was parked
8:45 here okay I'm going to assume that's who
8:47 that is even though it doesn't say it
8:50 looks like that's probably what that is
8:52 got the Milwaukee pinnet there in the
8:54 airport this is a nice little cute
8:56 little airport it's got a lot of good
8:58 stuff to do while you're waiting I
8:59 should probably go ahead and get through
9:02 the checkpoints though just to make sure
9:03 I'm not going to be late for my flight
9:05 cuz you never know how you know going
9:06 through going through security works out
9:09 and there he is General William Mitchell
9:11 there is a bust of his head right here
9:15 next to the elevator and when in the
9:18 city you're going to see a lot of Miller
9:20 stuff around as well not called Miller
9:24 Park anymore at the baseball stadium but
9:25 Miller still prominent around here
9:27 greatly all right so passing back past
9:29 the Mitchell gallery of flight the
9:30 bookstore and heading to my gate check
9:32 out the attitude of gratitude compliment
9:35 complimentary oh the compliment tree
9:38 compliment tree here at the Mike Side
9:42 Street Market which has a pretty good
9:44 little mural there on the side oh in
9:47 fact there is a brewery shop right here
9:51 I love this clock right here I got a
9:53 little time before I had need to get
9:54 into d52 but that's the time also I
9:57 heard about this and I'm glad I got to
10:00 see it with my own
10:07 eyes I think this is the only airport
10:07 that has one of these
10:10 areas

10:25 these from what I heard
10:28 anyway awesome so nicest TSA agents ever
10:32 sometimes I get a really nice TSA
10:34 agent but this is like the most
10:39 nice TSA folk that I as far as a a
10:44 conglomerate group like all of them so
10:46 nice

10:59 are just a little more mellow than some

11:08 bigin not everyone has a big
11:08 one some of them are a little more

11:15 Bakery right over here in Brew City you
11:18 got some brew city merch of course
11:20 Milwaukee known for their beer brew city
11:24 was established 1986 is a company that
11:26 sells all kind of
11:28 Brew merchandise and another clock it is
11:32 almost it is almost noon I love this
11:34 look at this little look at the seats
11:36 over here looking out on to the tarmac
11:38 that's kind of neat so you got to go
11:40 that way I think that's a 51 through 56
11:43 I need to go where am I going to I'm
11:44 going
11:45 to that way I think I'm 50 I got to look

12:13 airport has gum I always like to show
12:17 which airports sell gum and which
12:18 airports don't a lot of them don't some
12:21 of them do all right we went with the
12:22 small the smallest portion of piping hot
12:24 caffeinated beverag just cuz we would be
12:26 getting on a plane I would have to keep
12:27 jumping up and down to go to the
12:29 facilities got a Pikes Place with a
12:31 little tiny bit of cream and sugar
12:33 little Pikes Place drip coffee also it
12:36 was kind of nice the Starbucks here at
12:38 the dgates they weren't playing top 40
12:40 music they were playing like Smooth Jazz
12:43 it was like a smooth jazz Vibe looks
12:46 like it's going to be a very small
12:50 plane to DC for the first
12:53 leg the first section of this lay well
12:56 the first
13:00 the first flight I should say two
13:03 flights one
13:11 destination not a huge
13:11 plane in fact I think the seat I have is
13:14 not seated next to anyone it's just a
13:16 one seater on the one
13:18 side and then two seats on the other
13:21 side so I think my seat there isn't
13:23 anyone sitting next to me on the first
13:25 section the first flight to DC from DC
13:28 down probably be a lot bigger air air
13:30 line or bigger airplane I'm having
13:33 trouble talking this coffee hasn't
13:35 kicked in
13:54 yet door's going
13:54 down don't believe they're going to walk
13:56 out on the tarmac yep there goes the def
13:59 52 you hear

14:11 there believe that's what that's

14:48 Burbank I think my luggage my carry out
14:51 luggage the roll around one I'm probably
14:54 going to have to have like a subtle
14:56 check in and then pick it up at exit
15:04 this so funny looking how that thing
15:04 just like sers itself up against
15:15 this okay there is an option that I
15:17 could just have
15:19 it arrive at my final destination or CU
15:23 I think the next plane is going to be a
15:25 little larger plane I'll be able to put
15:27 it above my head so the small plane
15:29 I have opted to
15:32 valet I'm going to valet the heck out of
15:34 my bag which means I'm going to leave it
15:36 at the bottom and then once I leave it
15:38 at the bottom I'm going to pick it up a
15:40 little bit afterwards and I'm going to
15:41 use my Valley claim check and pick it up
15:44 and take it with me that way I'm not
15:47 going to have this go to the final I'm
15:48 going to valet my freaking
15:50 bag

17:25 right before our final turn uh following
17:27 the river down to the airport you'll see
17:29 the uh Pentagon and if it's clear enough
17:32 out in the distance you'll see the
17:34 arlingon national cemetery that's
17:36 awesome welcome board awesome

25:29 not my gate but it is pretty

25:41 amuse or just I just like seeing things
25:44 I don't normally see especially from an
25:47 airport window like this group not group
25:51 seat 4f is what I'm sitting on this
25:53 plane 4f I always get the window seat I
25:56 would say 99 out of 100 times I will get
25:59 the window seat because I want to be
26:01 able to film out the window and see what
26:03 I'm flying over that's the best part of
26:05 flying

27:30 usually when that happens it's going to
27:32 be a long day this really might be a a
27:36 clincher on how often I end up taking
27:39 layovers I had this happen just the
27:41 other day and it did not end
27:44 well not that I have a choice sometimes
27:47 in doing layovers
27:49 but gosh why is it always on the
28:11 say very I'm crossing my fingers but
28:11 this is nothing but why would we have
28:13 got off the
28:14 plane just to Orlando we still have
28:18 maintenance on board we still waiting
28:19 for update we do not have make purch
28:22 time yet this remain on the boarding
28:24 area in main passengers to Orlando still
28:27 waai for maintenance to give us a
28:30 departure time so please remain on the
28:32 boarding
28:33 area please remain in the boarding area
28:36 maintenance has not given
28:38 them an estimated time of when it's
28:40 going to be fixed so they said remain in
28:42 the boarding area they could be good
28:44 news or maybe they just want you to stay
28:46 close so that they can alert you on bad
28:49 news kind of been saying it out here
28:51 probably about a half hour give or take
28:53 not too bad but see how the evening
28:56 progresses
29:00 and it still has the little tug
29:02 mechanism vehicle there for the push
29:04 back so they haven't dismounted
29:07 dismounted that yet and they haven't
29:08 started unloading the luggage
29:11 yet looks like they got the fuel thing
29:13 hooked up to it you're at
29:17 d42 the pilots are still in
29:27 there so the pilots haven't gotten out
29:27 of the cockp
29:34 at so those are all positives but not
29:34 necessarily meaning that this thing's
29:36 going to get off the ground
29:44 today usually when you get off of a
29:44 plane they make you get off of a plane
29:46 you don't really get back on for like a
29:48 long time if at
29:51 all all right the door's open passengers
29:53 traveling to 1763 service to Orlando
29:56 gate number D40 uh right is reporting
29:59 please come back to gate number
30:01 d42 passengers traveling to Orlando
30:03 reporing just 5 please come back to gate
30:10 number all right don't mind if I yeah
30:10 the other night same kind of thing
30:12 happened and it was a 6-h hour
30:15 delay and we had a switch completely
30:18 switch uh planes
30:20 so heck yeah we're taking off well
30:23 hopefully Wheels first small under the
30:26 seat in front of you those passengers SE
30:28 in the all
30:31 your I was looking up other flights to
30:34 Orlando
30:36 differentes the only thing I could find
30:38 to get there tonight would have been
30:41 down to Miami lay over there and then
30:43 Orlando up arriving at
30:45 midnight and I thought about flying to
30:48 Miami running a car driving up cuz I
30:50 really want to get back tonight so I'm
30:52 really glad this worked
30:54 out again haven't taken off yet but it
30:56 looks like it's going to
31:09 1763 service to Orlando and
31:09 um I will be right back to you I've got
31:11 my ground crew talking to me I can't
31:13 talk to both of you at one okay right
31:14 back to we do expect to push in
31:16 hopefully just about another 5 to 10
31:18 minutes we're waiting for maintenance to
31:20 finish up paper
31:22 work they did advise us to go ahead and
31:26 board the air aircraft however so that
31:28 uh usually is an indicator that they're
31:30 going to be within 15 minutes of
31:32 completing their
31:33 tasks so once we get the go ahead from
31:35 them we will be uh good for push back
31:37 and take off uh try to make up as much
31:39 time as we can on the way to Orlando do
31:42 expect a mostly smooth flight today
31:44 however seat belt sign is off it's going
31:45 to stay that way until I know it's safe
31:46 for to get up out of your seat please
31:48 don't get up until I have that seat belt
31:50 sign off it could be 20 to 30 minutes
31:52 maybe even a little more than that into
31:54 the flight before we have reach our
31:56 final Cru count have
32:06 insurance all right basically what the
32:06 captain was just saying they're still
32:08 doing maintenance but they feel as if
32:10 that once they start filling the
32:11 paperwork out they could leave within 10
32:13 or 15
32:15 minutes so I went ahead and reboarded
32:17 the plane and once the paperwork is
32:18 filled out we're going to have a push
32:20 back and take
32:27 off again see what happens not uh not
32:27 doing it job not doing what it was
32:29 supposed to do and they don't have
32:30 another part to use so they're going to
32:32 have to take this aircraft out of
32:33 service and look for a spe so we are
32:36 going to have to ask everyone to depl
32:38 the aircraft I'm very sorry I know it's
32:40 a big inconvenience and I had a way to
32:43 make it not be this way I
32:52 would all that coming a mile
32:52 away got to get off the plane
33:02 look the draw up the
33:02 draw I'm just curious you just St one
33:05 set of groundhog de all right customer
33:07 service line is very extensive probably
33:09 everyone on the plane I went and talk to
33:11 the customer service and the only
33:13 options is to go to Miami and then have
33:15 a layover from Miami back to Orlando but
33:17 then I'm taking a chance on a layover
33:18 there not happening so I have opted to
33:21 just waited it out they said if the
33:23 flight is still delayed if it gets
33:25 canceled they'll give me a hotel for the
33:27 night I don't want to stay in DC I have
33:29 things to do tomorrow in Orlando
33:31 but that's the only option there's also
33:34 one other option there was a 745 or 7:30
33:37 which is boarding you know another hour
33:39 from now I could have flown directly to
33:42 Tampa there was a seat on that there
33:44 were three seats on that which are
33:45 probably going to be booked up now
33:47 because that line was pretty long ran
33:48 over was the first one in line and I
33:51 opted away from that because I would
33:52 have had to take either an Uber from
33:55 Tampa to MCO or rent a car car and drive
33:59 all the way to Orlando International to
34:01 get my car so I'm just going to wait it
34:03 out I do have things to do in the
34:06 morning in
34:08 Orlando you know what just got to roll
34:10 with the
34:12 punches not going to stress too much
34:14 over it I'll stress a little bit over it
34:17 but it's all
34:23 good and now I'm kind of thinking worst
34:23 case scenario if I get stuck in DC the
34:27 things I was going to do when I got into
34:28 Orlando tomorrow I wouldn't be able to
34:30 make it in time so do I just stay in DC
34:33 a few
34:45 days
34:45 cruddy all right Pilots are getting off
34:48 that plane so that plane is definitely
34:51 100%
34:52 not and so my method is just to roll
34:55 with the punches now this is the line
34:57 there's every single person on the plane
34:59 is trying to
35:00 rebook now I might get
35:08 lucky and maybe they bring another plane
35:08 in long as I get to Orlando tonight if
35:10 not I'm staying in DC and if I don't get
35:12 back to Orlando tonight I'm staying in
35:14 DC for a little while all right while
35:16 I'm standing here I just hearing some
35:19 murmurings from one of the employees
35:21 lady came in and said that we're about
35:24 to board this one again everyone's over
35:26 in that other line rebooking flights and
35:28 they just said that they're about to
35:29 reboard this one oh my good
35:38 Lord all right this is
35:38 insane everyone's over there rebooking
35:40 their
35:42 flights and now they're being called
35:44 back over the Ste the flight
35:47 attendants and now we're going to board
35:49 here to that whole line of people over
35:52 there are booking other flights and now
35:55 for the third time we're about ready to
35:57 get on this air all right Pilots heading
36:00 back
36:01 in third times's a charm maybe
36:05 possibly the crew is going to double
36:07 check if everything is okay to work
36:10 we're going to give them about 15 to 20
36:12 minutes just to make sure that
36:13 everything is fine to be in the boarding
36:16 area with your boarding taes ready and
36:17 available to scan we'll keep you update
36:20 in 10 more minutes whenever they ready
36:22 to Bo we're going to start the boarding
36:24 process all right number three walking
36:28 down this jet
36:30 way holy
36:33 Lord I bet the flight's probably less
36:36 people on the flight now though because
36:38 people were
36:40 rerouted I almost did I almost went to
36:56 Tampa they definitely were not planning
36:56 on getting back on of this plane cuz
36:58 they had removed up the luggage now
36:59 they're putting the luggage back on of
37:00 course mine is above my head yeah I
37:03 think they were all willing and ready to
37:06 just transfer to a different plane not
37:08 that plane
37:09 but man this is just so weird again
37:12 speaking I'm up at the front of the
37:13 airplane you can see me if you want to
37:14 look um we've got 11 passengers that are
37:18 still supposed to be going with us that
37:19 have not yet uh shown back up at the
37:21 gate we're trying to give them a
37:22 fighting chance to go with us
37:24 still so we're not going to wait we're
37:26 not going to wait very long but we're
37:27 going to wait a few more minutes and
37:29 just try to get as many people that were
37:30 supposed to be on this flight back on it
37:33 to explain what happened earlier with
37:35 the mechanic Interruption that we had
37:37 mechanical Interruption our
37:40 mechanics thought they communicated
37:42 correctly to our maintenance control
37:45 people in Dallas regarding an issue that
37:48 they saw with the
37:49 airplane the communication failed the
37:52 people in Dallas misunderstood what
37:55 mechanics here in Washington saw
37:58 that's why they took the airplane out of
38:00 service and in the time it took us to

38:07 Lounge they tracked us down and found us
38:09 and told us about the miscommunication
38:11 and told us that the airplane is
38:12 actually in fact good to go so there was
38:16 never anything wrong with the airplane
38:17 that was anything that was uh even
38:20 worthy remotely worthy of taking it out
38:22 of service it was all due to a
38:23 miscommunication so I'm very sorry again
38:26 we're going to wait a few more minutes
38:27 to try to get uh a few more passengers
38:29 back that we've lost that uh are in the
38:32 airport somewhere once we uh either get
38:35 them or get word from our uh
38:39 uh basically our ground service manager
38:42 that uh we need to go anyway that's when
38:44 we'll go shouldn't be more I don't think
38:46 than 5 or 10 minutes and the airplane is
38:48 uh again completely ready to go we'll
38:50 have you on your way as quickly as we
38:51 can once we get our last few people

42:46 a lot later getting into Orlando than I
42:46 originally planned but you know what I
42:49 got back to Orlando so pretty happy
42:51 about that all these little stands are
42:55 closed restaurants are closed
43:02 closed going to pick up my car and I
43:02 almost made the decision to fly to
43:05 Tampa and it was also Daytona I could
43:08 have flown to Daytona and thankfully I
43:11 did not do that because I would have
43:13 been it would have been kind of really
43:14 inconvenience to go from those places
43:17 there's also the Miami and then Miami
43:19 hit a layover come back up coming back
43:21 up to MCO the reason I didn't do that
43:24 because then that would have been two
43:26 layover uh with my luck I would end up
43:29 having I would ended up having an issue
43:32 with the layover in Miami so it worked
43:34 out I held my ground and I made it to
43:37 Orlando few hours late but I'm here and
43:41 I was a little stressed out because
43:43 bright in early
43:44 tomorrow got some stuff going
43:47 on and didn't want to miss that but if I
43:51 did actually over the next 3 days I had
43:54 plans I have plans tomorrow next day and
43:57 the next day but if for some reason I
43:59 was to have missed the plants tomorrow I
44:02 would have just stayed in DC and because
44:03 if I would have not made it home by
44:05 tomorrow would have put the wheels in
44:07 motion where the other days really
44:10 wouldn't have made a lot of sense to
44:11 come back for either and I probably
44:13 would have just stay
44:14 but seeing DC from the air reminds me I
44:18 need to get back over to DC so I'm going
44:20 to put that on the list at some point

44:24 year and get up there for a few
44:46 now very mow over to my car I think I
44:46 parked in B everything is closed up even
44:49 that store Gat your down and that's
44:52 going to do it for today going to bck my
44:55 car back at
44:58 Orlando I love flying until things
45:02 happen that make me not love flying had
45:05 some bad experiences with layovers and
45:07 delays
45:09 and I
45:11 really did not think the third time was
45:14 going to be a charm on that
