0:15 now they are open for tours however

0:17 today I will not be partaking of one

0:20 because it's frowned upon to film once

0:23 inside and the subject matter that I

0:26 will be tackling today can be documented

0:29 without actually stepping foot inside

0:33 the studios that historic archway now we

0:38 all know and love the television show

0:41 The Brady Bunch

0:42 utilized the property and sound stages

0:45 here off Melrose Avenue but what I want

0:49 to focus on for this particular video is

0:52 the homestead that the entire Brady

0:56 conglomeration lived in throughout the

0:59 series and some of the structures

1:02 leading up to them moving into the Brady

1:06 house and this comes in recent days

1:09 within the last week they have announced

1:10 that that very famous homestead is

1:15 available for purchase that's right the

1:17 Brady house where they all lived at

1:21 least the front facade that you are

1:24 familiar with is available for purchase

1:26 for a cool 1.8 million dollars I will

1:32 not be buying it but I am gonna go take

1:35 a gander

1:36 join me shall you heading about 9 miles

1:40 north to Studio City to where Mike lived

1:43 with his sons prior to the wedding and

1:47 being married to Carol it looks pretty

1:50 much the same as it did back in the 70s

1:59 right in there it was only shown one

1:59 time while he's loading up the trunk

2:02 about ready to head to the wedding but

2:06 that's it it was Mike's house it's

2:09 basically the first thing you see on

2:11 screen for the show season 1 episode 1

2:16 children's bikes in the driveway and the

2:19 trunk to the car still open in this

2:21 screenshot a couple more miles up the

2:24 road is Sherman Oaks heading to the

2:27 location where the wedding took place if

2:30 any lesson can be learned from that very

2:33 first episode is do not bring a dog to

2:36 an event that has food obviously like

2:40 catering for a wedding ceremony you'll

2:43 see the shrubbery has grown up quite a

2:46 bit over the years

2:48 blocking most the facade of this house

2:52 the car pulls up would have been just

2:55 about in that spot there and the tree to

2:58 the left of your screen it's a little

3:02 taller now than it was back then but

3:04 look closely it's still still here after

3:08 all these years that's the tree there

3:11 looks like it's protruding up out of the

3:13 hood same tree decades later it is kind

3:19 of neat to think that if they had not

3:21 tied the knot at this very spot the

3:24 whole premise of the show would not have

3:26 worked they would not have been Wed and

3:29 became the Brady Bunch

3:32 but everything Bam Bam Bam it all

3:35 started here

3:49 stop we've arrived at dilling Street in

3:49 North Hollywood to a location that needs

3:53 no introduction in fact there are a

3:58 couple people getting their picture in

4:00 front of the home as we speak

4:02 notice the car parked out front from

4:05 this photo and the window on the far

4:07 left of the home of course over the

4:11 years automobiles have changed quite a

4:15 bit progress and progress for the front

4:19 of the house that window has been

4:25 covered up it's no longer there on the

4:28 far left would have been basically right

4:31 about there not gonna wander any farther

4:35 up onto the property you can get a

4:38 pretty good look at the home huge tree

4:44 has sprung up since way back then but

4:48 it's neat to notice that right down here

4:50 are these rock formations on the

4:56 driveway there they are back when the

4:59 show was on the air and there's an angle

5:03 from this position as well there's that

5:05 window that is no longer here current

5:08 day but the shot would have been

5:10 something about from that angle just a

5:14 little bit more zoomed in but not too

5:17 much farther maybe three or four steps

5:19 forward even though only the exterior x'

5:22 were filmed here you can kind of get the

5:25 vibe of the football scene in the

5:28 backyard getting the nose smashed you

5:32 can use your imagination and just

5:34 pretend that it really happened right

5:36 there in front of the garage can be seen

5:38 from season 1 episode 2 and beyond how

5:43 iconic is this piece of television

5:46 history everything I showed before this

5:49 was just leading up

5:51 to them moving in that's the Brady house

5:54 right there could be your home you got a

5:58 little extra cash laying around you

6:00 could be walking through those doors

6:01 each and every night it's a little

6:05 pricey however one would say it's even a

6:08 whole bunch of money okay that was that

6:16 was bad even even for me and if you do

6:19 decide on purchasing this property be

6:21 aware that many of people stopped by to

6:24 get their photographs in front of it

6:25 that's why this wall now exists since

6:29 I've been standing here about a dozen

6:31 people have gotten out of their vehicle

6:34 to take a photo in fact someone else is

6:37 pulling up right now to do the same or

6:40 you could just use it as a business

6:41 opportunity rent it out air B&B style

6:46 dress up as Alice every morning to come

6:48 downstairs and make breakfast for your

6:50 tenants I don't know that that might be

6:53 a little creepy it's always a cool

6:54 feeling to be standing in the spot of a

6:57 place that you remember so well from

6:59 your childhood not only the house but a

7:03 little mountain range behind it

7:11 brings back some memories it's unusual

7:11 how TV show can get stuck in your head

7:14 for your whole life enroute now to the

7:17 neighborhood that they made us think was

7:20 where the house was but in actuality

7:22 it's seven or eight miles away on more

7:26 than a number of occasions the family

7:28 can be seen jogging or riding their

7:31 bikes through this neighborhood and each

7:34 and every time they head back home which

7:38 we assume is right at these cross

7:41 streets but it's not they fooled us the

7:46 greenery behind them has changed over

7:48 the years but look at the tree to the

7:50 right and the driveway and the little

7:54 drainage area which means they would

7:58 have been running right through here

8:00 even this branch and the way this

8:04 particular tree Forks upward is still

8:07 the same in that center point where the

8:09 branches meet is right there as I back

8:13 out get a better perspective of where

8:16 they would have been jogging past notice

8:18 where Carol is leaning exhausted see the

8:22 pole there in the middle between the two

8:24 trees and the one she's holding on to is

8:27 leaning at a very distinct angle that's

8:30 down the way is about a block or so and

8:35 there you go there's that pole and

8:39 pretty much the angle that they were

8:43 shooting from was right there

8:52 and this little section of street was

8:52 used in quite a few episodes for a

8:55 number of scenes which is totally

8:57 bizarre in the reality of the situation

9:00 because he comes down these stairs to

9:03 check on her to give her a little more

9:06 RAL up boost to keep on running

9:10 but you'll notice up those stairs whose

9:14 house is this was he visiting a friend

9:18 guess that's not the Bradys residence

9:21 that's gonna do it for today if you
