welcome everyone adam the woo here
0:03
i am noticing the fountain at the
0:04
threshold of market street by the way
0:06
i'm holding a piping hot beverage that i
0:08
have
0:08
procured from the cornerstone market and
0:11
deli
0:11
right over there also the christmas tree
0:14
has been
0:15
taken down it has been unerected
0:19
oh that's warm game plan today today's
0:22
adventure
0:22
will be going up and down well down 192.
0:25
ending in saint cloud at the last
0:29
technical job where i was punching a
0:31
clock
0:32
and i'm going to just kind of share some
0:34
memories i have been on a
0:36
i've been a thought process since moving
0:38
back to central florida
0:39
and a nostalgia overload i have covered
0:42
some of this before but it has been
0:43
quite a few years and there were
0:45
different subject matters
0:47
this is just going to kind of be a
0:48
mishmash of all that in update
0:51
if you will inviting you to join me
0:53
let's take a ride
0:54
shall you you see the water tower for
0:56
celebration florida which is my new
0:58
neighborhood poking up over the tree
1:00
line
1:00
there at the shopping plaza
1:03
just across the way is the former
1:05
clermont hotel
1:07
which i believe was called something
1:08
different
1:10
and for a while i worked at a pool bar
1:14
back behind this establishment i am
1:17
basically going to be going by a few
1:19
places i worked and
1:20
lived from 91 until 2011.
1:25
kind of a 20-year retrospective if you
1:27
will
1:33
yeah there's the former pool right over
1:33
there sometimes people will occasionally
1:35
ask
1:37
what i did before starting youtube
1:40
what did i do so i thought i'd clarify
1:44
and
1:44
showcase some of those things yeah right
1:47
over there you can see a window on that
1:48
little
1:49
little shack let me zoom in
2:00
i would serve food beverages
2:00
and just little snacks to guests that
2:03
were staying here at this hotel
2:05
after they would get back from the theme
2:06
park swim in the pool
2:08
it was just a part-time i had a lot of
2:10
full-time jobs too but this was a
2:11
part-time job i did for a few years
2:17
it is kind of neat that everything that
2:18
we'll be covering is right here on
2:19
highway 192 stretching from kissimmee to
2:21
saint cloud
2:22
not going to cover it all but quite a
2:25
few of the best of my memories
2:27
can you spot the tree that's not really
2:29
a tree
2:32
the one that's a cell phone tower
2:36
it's good to see that remnants of river
2:39
adventure golf
2:40
are still here light pole
2:44
probably not going anywhere i've passed
2:46
by this quite a few times
2:49
the last decade or so even featured it
2:53
in videos but always nice to stop off
2:56
another part-time
2:59
job that i had they have placed a fence
3:02
up here since my last
3:04
my last visit oh the mailbox
3:15
still there oh it has grown up
3:15
considerably
3:17
since my day
3:24
i'd pull my car back in here the lot
3:24
was back there
3:27
also grown over with foliage
3:30
over here was the viking motel
3:39
same owners that also owned the
3:39
miniature golf course river adventure
3:42
golf
3:43
just the lights remained and maybe a few
3:46
other items but i'm not going to be
3:47
traversing
3:48
over in there because there's probably
3:50
alligators snakes
3:53
a mosquito infestation as well
3:57
as this little beauty
4:07
one of my many many jobs
4:07
i did a lot of stuff before youtube
4:10
a lot of places i worked it's unusual
4:13
but when i started making videos i had
4:15
no idea that
4:16
it would become a career or that you
4:18
could even
4:19
make money off of you know doing what
4:21
you're passionate about and just
4:23
exploring point
4:24
like i always say i point out the
4:25
obvious and talk to inanimate objects
4:27
give a little history
4:28
that's kind of a rundown of the way i
4:31
describe
4:32
my my career now and what i do before
4:35
that
4:35
it was all retail if i was not if this
4:38
had not come along
4:39
the the blessing and the you know what i
4:42
am doing
4:43
currently i would be most likely
4:46
stocking shelves
4:47
at a grocery store like i was in the
4:49
past 2011
4:52
august 9 2011 i worked at a feed store
4:56
that was the that was the last place
4:58
that i was at i would do something
5:00
something similar
5:01
to that i guarantee that's what i not
5:03
really a big
5:04
skill set and a lot of talents i
5:07
i kind of played bass guitar in a few
5:09
bands i don't know if that would have
5:10
paid the bills
5:12
so probably would have gone back to you
5:14
know working retail
5:16
if i wasn't doing this pretty grateful
5:19
to be doing what i'm doing
5:20
and to have started on a kind of entry
5:23
level of this platform
5:25
and it worked out if i hadn't started so
5:26
early i might not even be
5:29
you know the early years of the
5:30
development of youtube
5:33
i wouldn't be as far along as i am now
5:34
so i'm grateful to have
5:37
not even have the wherewithal to just
5:40
to have taken that step forward
5:46
there was there was really nothing
5:46
guiding me i just felt like it was
5:48
something i needed to do and
5:49
made the right decision i'm pretty
5:52
pretty lucky
5:53
to have done that this apartment complex
5:55
has gone through a
5:56
series a multitude of names over the
5:59
past couple decades
6:01
and to be honest i don't even recall
6:03
what the name of it was when i lived
6:05
here
6:06
but i do remember where my apartment was
6:09
right up here
6:10
up there in that top corner i go up
6:12
those stairs every day
6:14
that was the porch 2209
6:18
right there top one
6:21
for just over five years and this was
6:24
was office max though that
6:25
i think office depot has purchased
6:28
office max or merged with officemax
6:32
but i worked right in there good old
6:35
office max did about everything you
6:37
could possibly do
6:38
didn't work except for copy center i was
6:41
cashier
6:42
worked in receiving worked overnight
6:44
stock
6:45
yeah a lot of a lot of time spinning
6:48
there
6:48
stood right there at the front door on
6:51
more than one occasion waiting for the
6:52
store manager to arrive to
6:54
open the door so i could go in and
6:57
head to work and just a few blocks away
7:00
from there
7:01
when i lived in this neighborhood which
7:02
is known as orange gardens
7:04
i was always told it was one of the
7:06
oldest neighborhoods
7:09
in kissimmee never confirmed that but
7:12
i heard it's one of the oldest maybe one
7:14
of the first neighborhoods
7:16
and i resided directly across from this
7:18
home which features a lot of
7:20
tonka trucks now it's not this one it's
7:23
the one on the the other side of the
7:24
road
7:25
all these tonka trucks were not here
7:28
when i resided in this area
7:30
look at that that was where i lived
7:34
this is around the back side of the
7:35
property it was very short-lived however
7:38
only about a year i was in there i
7:40
wanted to come over from this angle
7:42
to show that there there were also
7:44
neighbors on the opposite side the fence
7:47
of me
7:47
and these houses were torn down
7:55
also over there was a kmart one of the
7:55
two kmarts i worked out
7:57
occasionally they would send me to that
7:58
one it was closed down
8:00
the other one was a little farther down
8:02
192 at the corner of simpson road
8:06
but when i was in a band there was a
8:08
side room
8:10
over here
8:13
that i built well i attempted to build a
8:17
soundproof
8:18
room so the drums could not be heard it
8:21
wasn't the best scenario but
8:22
it did kind of curb the sound a little
8:25
bit
8:26
so people outside of the out of the
8:27
house didn't really hear it so much
8:34
this end was the garden center from that
8:34
kmart
8:35
probably maybe we only was here a few
8:37
weeks
8:38
on and off and they would send me from
8:41
the main store that i worked at for
8:43
five plus years
8:48
and i didn't work in the garden center
8:48
so even the reason i'm showing this is
8:51
from this angle i'm not really sure why
8:53
i didn't show the front door but
8:55
the front door was way on the other end
8:58
and if i remember correctly they had a
9:01
tle tire lube express well i think
9:03
walmart called it a tla
9:05
tire lube express but an oil change
9:08
center as well on this end reason i
9:11
bring up walmart because i work there
9:13
speaking of places that have changed
9:15
their names over time
9:17
this apartment complex over there not
9:19
called the same thing
9:21
but the on the far end very top
9:26
last window in this building top floor
9:28
was my room
9:30
and a little balcony
9:34
it's been fixed up quite a bit spent a
9:36
lot of time with friends on that balcony
9:44
maybe four four or five years about
9:44
three or four years
9:46
i lived in that apartment clean this
9:49
they cleaned it up nicely
9:51
it was not as kept up when i resided
9:57
new owners new establishment
10:00
i'd go up that staircase and to my
10:03
accommodations
10:04
in that window look out that window all
10:08
the time
10:09
my roommate at the time rob and i we
10:11
worked at the same place
10:13
that would have been office max and on
10:16
our days off our two days off a week we
10:17
would
10:18
stay up so used to working third shift
10:21
so it would be up till you know four or
10:22
five a.m every day and on those days off
10:26
we would walk up here to this 7-eleven
10:28
and get a press
10:29
sandwich after play playing diablo
10:33
all night long on playstation we'd
10:36
always make the walk to that 7-eleven
10:38
over in the corner of where that
10:40
building is well the corner piece
10:43
a couple different storefronts was video
10:45
center
10:47
a vhs driven store the owner
10:50
did not want to transfer over to blue to
10:53
dvds not even blue rise
10:55
so ended up closing but he had a lot of
10:58
great
10:58
80s movies
11:04
and i i learned a lot from working there
11:04
from taking vhs
11:05
vhs cassettes home watching them
11:08
also browsing through the i believe it
11:11
was called movie hound which was a book
11:13
this is a pre
11:14
imdb preview internet
11:18
there was a book called the movie hound
11:19
a big thick
11:22
book that you could look up all movies
11:25
and me being a film nerd i loved it i
11:28
loved browsing through
11:30
the decades of history
11:34
for the movies that he had inside video
11:37
center worked here part-time while
11:38
working
11:39
other full-time jobs it was located in
11:41
that corner
11:43
right over there also shout out to
11:46
coliseum the comics which
11:48
also was in this little strip mall
11:52
it moved a long time ago i'm going to
11:54
mention a very deep
11:56
cut now when it comes to this road here
11:58
on the corner of den john
11:59
this far lane that i am in see the light
12:02
is all green but back in the day
12:04
it was always a continuous green where
12:07
the other ones even though they turn
12:09
yellow and red wouldn't be happy to
12:12
report that this development is still
12:14
referred to and called simpson ridge
12:18
apartments oh it still has the speed
12:22
bumps
12:24
here's a photo of a much younger and
12:26
more punk rock
12:28
me and my broken down
12:32
ford ltd was in the spot that i am
12:36
standing and there are still plenty of
12:39
geese and ducks
12:42
around here yeah even the the backdrop
12:46
of where the car
12:46
was parked behind that photo it sat
12:49
right here
12:51
they they sent me a letter saying if i
12:54
do not
12:54
have the car towed that there would be
12:57
ramifications and i would have to move
12:59
out so i had to
13:01
my first car i ever had a ford ltd
13:04
it had a different colored door
13:07
than the rest of the cars i got in an
13:08
accident had to get a another door from
13:11
a junkyard
13:13
sat right here for for a couple months
13:15
until tow truck showed up
13:17
removed the car and as payment they they
13:20
take the car for the payment
13:22
of the towing uh it's very broke
13:25
back in those days it's all coming back
13:29
to me now
13:31
the car didn't run it was it seemed
13:33
better dice but it served me well
13:36
see those geese over there hiding in the
13:38
shadows
13:39
a couple more walking across the way
13:45
that was my place right there on that
13:45
corner right there
13:49
for a few years
13:56
hey you guys don't like you guys are
13:56
like me you like being in the shade
13:58
you're just you can't even really can't
14:00
even really see it because you're are
14:01
you going out in the sun now
14:03
you're gonna brave the sunlight
14:17
i had some good times good times over
14:19
in the mid 90s as fun as those days were
14:22
there were there were some tough times
14:24
as well it really did not have a lot of
14:26
motivation
14:27
i had been working for a few years prior
14:29
to that and for about
14:31
half of that year i was unemployed
14:34
sitting around doing nothing unmotivated
14:37
and you know pretty much a loser during
14:40
that time
14:41
frame the girlfriend i had then which
14:44
was
14:44
the first girlfriend i ever had we lived
14:46
together broke up with me
14:48
for valid reason i really had nothing
14:50
going on in my life i thought you know
14:52
it'd be really neat to just do nothing
14:54
sit around it was a a game changer with
14:58
the way my my brain works if you don't
15:01
do anything
15:02
nothing gets accomplished you do not
15:05
have an income
15:06
that you can pay rent and bills
15:10
yeah that was that was not a good time
15:12
when it came to that
15:13
subject matter that that point in my
15:16
life so i had to step it back
15:18
up and you know take the bull by the
15:20
horns
15:21
walk over to what is the zenith
15:25
theater not zena theater the zenith
15:27
center now
15:28
which at the time was a k-mart which
15:31
eventually
15:32
morphed into a big k their version of
15:34
super walmart
15:36
i worked here for half a decade
15:39
five years and what happened over
15:42
at simpson ridge really kind of changed
15:45
the course of my life and
15:46
you know coming over to get the job here
15:49
as well
15:50
as this parking lot also served another
15:52
purpose
15:53
later when i stopped working again but
15:56
under different scenarios with you know
16:00
self-employment opportunities being a
16:02
little more
16:02
vast as the internet progressed
16:07
i ended up moving into my van and did a
16:10
video
16:10
right here in this parking lot quote
16:13
unquote van
16:14
dwelling which was which was a game
16:17
changer
16:18
in my life and it is why i am at the
16:21
point now
16:22
and have the opportunities that i have
16:25
now was based on that decision as well
16:28
so a lot a lot of history
16:30
of adam the woo here in this parking lot
16:32
and right over there
16:34
simpson ridge apartments kmart
16:40
life's funny the way things happened
16:40
pulling into saint cloud now passing the
16:42
walmart that i also worked out and the
16:46
publix well it's not a publix anymore
16:49
but it was over there it's now a
16:50
gym on that side of the road
16:54
worked there for a few years as well as
16:57
behind that dunkin donuts is a staple
16:59
and an aldi now staples and an aldi now
17:03
but it was a winn-dixie back then worked
17:06
there as well yeah
17:07
a lot of retail it was a lot of retail
17:10
spots
17:16
where this boat shop is used to be a
17:16
cabinet shop
17:19
i only only worked there about six
17:21
months
17:22
give or take i knew nothing about
17:23
carpentry so i was laid off
17:27
yeah here's another one on august 9
17:30
2011 i quit the last job i ever had
17:34
working for someone
17:36
and became self-employed the hay trailer
17:40
used to sit right here
17:46
it is sits changed hands it's no longer
17:46
the same business
17:47
but this is the building it's a
17:49
different feed store
17:50
it was a another named feed store
17:54
but they closed down and this place took
17:56
over
17:58
there it is right there the last job i
17:59
ever had august 9 2011 was the last day
18:03
i had promised myself not to go back in
18:05
and say hello to everyone i worked with
18:08
until i made enough
18:09
on this platform that i did working
18:12
there and by the time that happened
18:14
i had kind of forgotten and then they
18:16
closed so
18:17
never never fulfilled that end of my
18:20
thoughts
18:21
taking this little shortcut walking
18:23
through this alley and turn the corner
18:25
and it will be the apartment i was
18:26
living in the last
18:28
apartment i had before moving
18:31
quote unquote into my van and traveling
18:33
and going full time
18:35
here on the youtube platform oh yes
18:38
memories are flooding back i know i've
18:40
covered a lot of this
18:42
over the last 10 years you know in small
18:45
portions
18:46
but it's always good to to kind of
18:48
rehash and
18:50
not forget your roots and you know over
18:53
time
18:54
people people will
18:57
hop on the channel that might not know a
19:00
little bit of history
19:01
it's always fascinating to some and good
19:04
to keep it fresh
19:05
in my head but this metal door here
19:08
was the entryway into my apartment
19:12
there are two different ones up top it
19:14
looks like they're both
19:16
for rent the top two windows on this
19:19
side
19:20
maybe the three but this was my room
19:23
right here and my van would always park
19:25
where that car is
19:32
right there i could be incorrect
19:32
the two far windows do not have a four
19:34
rent sign so that apartment is occupied
19:36
my former apartment is occupied
19:42
gave it many hours of thought well days
19:42
of thought weeks of thought
19:44
about selling all my possessions
19:47
starting to travel around
19:49
my van i made the right decision
19:53
didn't know what i was doing but looking
19:54
back hindsight
19:56
it was the right decision that's gonna
19:58
do it for today
20:00
just a little step back in time a little

20:10
channel if you enjoyed this particular
20:12
episode
20:13
give it a big thumbs up it lets me know
20:15
you care my only advice
20:17
is if you have a passion to do it i do
20:20
not have the answers
20:21
what i did might not work in this day
20:24
and age
20:25
nor did i even think i would be
20:27
successful
20:28
or know there would even be something to
20:29
be successful at
20:31
with what i did but it's fun to look
20:35
back
20:36
i'll see you in the next video
20:42
a vlog is over i
20:42
cannot even count the amount of times i
20:44
opened that door
20:46
and sat right there on that planner
20:49
contemplating life
20:50
thinking about my future if what i was
20:53
doing at the time the current time
20:55
was what i was destined to do forever
21:02
i've always done a lot of thinking and
21:03
continue to this is just
21:06
one of the many spots i did that
21:10
the clouds look pretty neat today
