0:03 Welcome everyone. Adams Aoo here as the
0:03 recording of this Thursday, December
0:06 18th, also known as exactly one week
0:08 till Christmas Day. I'm back in
0:10 Celebration, Florida from my
0:12 international travels, just a couple
0:14 days shy of being gone a month and I am
0:18 happy and it is good to be home. I'm
0:22 going to start the day off by getting a
0:24 coffee, checking out some decor from
0:27 here to there, and then go back and put
0:29 my own Christmas decorations out.
0:33 One week till Christmas and I'm back
0:36 putting Christmas stuff out. Join me,
0:40 shall you? It's beginning to look a lot
0:42 like Christmas. I think I might put a
0:45 Grinch of my own out in my own
0:49 my own way. They got full Grinch action
0:51 going on here, though. And the
0:53 inflatables in this yard. As always,
0:56 this house never disappoints. Decorates
1:00 for every holiday,
1:02 including Christmas.
1:11 There's jolly old Saint Nick right there
1:11 on the porch.
1:14 And my decor is not going to rival this
1:16 in any way, but doing my part. to be
1:20 part of the community during the
1:21 holidays in December and Halloween. Put
1:25 Halloween stuff up and now got to put my
1:27 Christmas stuff up. But this house is
1:29 awesome. Also go out at night at some
1:32 point during the duration of my stay
1:34 back in town. I'm here till till New
1:36 Year's, so I'm sure there'll be lots of
1:38 Christmas decor at night around
1:40 celebration. Maybe even tonight. I won't
1:41 be doing any inflatables and not a whole
1:43 lot of lights other than some solar
1:45 powered lights, but I do have quite a
1:47 bit of stuff that I've accumulated over
1:50 the past couple months post Halloween
1:53 before I went on this last road trip or
1:55 this last international trip.
1:58 I've been ready to put out. So, putting
2:00 it out today, but no inflatables for me.
2:02 Even though this Olaf is pretty awesome.
2:04 He just likes warm hugs. Also, it's 2
2:06 weeks to the day to New Year's Day.
2:10 Well, I'll be starting doing my US road
2:12 trips all next year.
2:15 Highways, byways, small towns.
2:19 Good times. Two weeks. Well, in just
2:21 about a month being gone, you notice a
2:23 lot of changes when you're driving
2:25 around. Doesn't look like that they've
2:28 started doing construction on this, the
2:29 town hall, but it really hasn't
2:31 progressed too much in the last month,
2:33 but it's getting there. Have the town
2:35 hall back soon enough.
2:38 Weather feels pretty good. I want to say
2:40 it's cool or crisp or anything like
2:41 that, but definitely not as hot as it
2:44 was last time I was in town. Still a
2:47 little bit of humidity in the air, but
2:49 definitely not warm. At least at this
2:52 particular moment, warmer than where I
2:54 just was overseas. Oh, yeah. Cup of Joe
2:58 to start the holiday Christmas decor
3:02 setting up, if you will. Good to see you
3:05 again. Like Lakefront
3:07 Lake shore lakefront. The lake is the
3:10 fountain over there isn't on. They saw
3:12 the new fountain. Maybe when it's I
3:15 don't know. I mean, it's I wouldn't say
3:16 it's winter conditions, so I don't know
3:18 why it wouldn't be on, but
3:21 Oh, yeah. It's a good day. It's a good
3:23 day. I'm going to need to get down here
3:24 at some point and see the snow and all
3:26 that.
3:29 Christmas tree is up. It was not
3:31 completely set up. They were setting it
3:32 up when I was out when I was here last,
3:36 but they did not have the decorations on
3:38 it. They did not have the lights and the
3:40 Christmas decor all set up. It's now
3:44 ready to rock. Before I bought my house
3:46 here in town, which is just down the
3:48 ways a bit. I'm not right in downtown. I
3:50 used to live over to this side of Market
3:52 Street up on the top floor. And I always
3:55 got a pretty good bird's eye perspective
3:58 either out of my window or hearing the
4:00 music. you know, if I was in my living
4:01 room or kitchen or my bedroom, I could
4:04 hear the music when they were pumping in
4:05 the the holiday Christmas tunes when
4:07 they were dropping the snow, which is
4:09 pretty fun and definitely always kind of
4:11 put me in a nice holiday mood. But now
4:14 I'm not right in the thick of it. And I
4:15 was definitely kind of nice when it
4:17 comes to parking because Downtown
4:19 Celebration during December after about
4:22 4 or 5:00 at night, there's no parking
4:24 anywhere. So,
4:27 parking situation has changed for the
4:29 better in my opinion. But I did like
4:31 being down here, but the parking was
4:32 definitely the the one thing during the
4:35 holidays that was a little bit of a
4:38 conundrum. I haven't showed this clock
4:40 in a while.
4:42 I always like how the minute hand has
4:44 the girl on the bike and then the hour
4:47 hand has the dog chasing the person on
4:50 the bike, which is kind of neat.
4:54 I'm not sure if it just went or if I
4:55 have to wait another full 60 seconds for
4:57 the bicycle was to move, but
5:01 established 1994, the town of
5:03 Celebration.
5:05 The Market Street clock.
5:08 It's a pretty decent size. Not as big as
5:10 some of the ones I saw when I was
5:11 overseas. Oh, there it goes. But it's
5:15 probably a lot bigger than you would
5:16 expect it to be because it is so high
5:18 up.
5:21 All right, I go home and decorate. Yeah,
5:23 the streets are always blocked off for
5:24 the entire month of December through New
5:26 Year's. I haven't decided when it comes
5:28 to my road trip if I am going to leave
5:31 on New Year's Day or leave on New Year's
5:33 Eve and start the first road trip, the
5:36 first highway that I'm doing lengthy
5:40 from coast to coast.
5:42 if I'm going to go ahead and get up
5:43 there and start it on
5:46 New Year's Day, which means I'd have to
5:48 leave on New Year's Eve, or I would just
5:49 want to start to get to head up there.
5:52 Either way, it's about two weeks from
5:53 now, so I'll be around for about two
5:54 weeks, give or take a day. Do not touch.
5:56 Don't even think
5:59 about touching this major thing. Oh, I
6:00 just felt some sprinkles.
6:03 This is These aren't my rules. Don't
6:06 touch. I don't know how you could
6:08 because it's stioned off. Maybe they
6:10 mean the fence. Nonetheless,
6:14 got
6:16 Mary, Joseph, maybe Jesus there under
6:19 plexi.
6:22 I have a little nativity I'm going to
6:23 put out as well. This is a pretty good
6:25 one. You got the camel, donkey, the
6:27 sheep, cow,
6:30 the angel, three wise men, gold,
6:33 frankincense, and myrr.
6:44 You always hear you always hear gold.
6:44 Gold is used all the time, but I other
6:47 than the Bible, I don't know if I've
6:48 ever heard the word frankincense or
6:49 myrr, but it's it just rolls off the
6:52 tongue because I'm, you know, familiar
6:53 with the Bible growing up, preachers
6:54 kid,
7:02 all the stories, Christmas, gold, we all
7:02 know. Not a lot of us really know what
7:04 frankincense and myrr is. Only these
7:07 guys.
7:09 Wonder which one has the myrrh.
7:23 That might be the frankincense.
7:23 That might be the myrr. There's a nice
7:25 little Disney setup. Got Goofy, Donald,
7:30 Mickey, and Minnie,
7:32 Santa up there near the porch. Those are
7:35 great little
7:37 little sculptures of the Mickey
7:39 figurines. The Mickey and Minnie and
7:40 Donald and Goofy.
7:44 Looks like Goofy is doing a little
7:46 little reading there.
7:48 He's reading the 12 Days of Christmas.
7:49 Or maybe he's singing the 12 Days of
7:51 Christmas. Donald looks very happy.
7:54 Again, at some point I will peruse
7:56 around town and show more of the decor
7:59 all illuminated under the shroud of
8:01 nightfall and the illumination of
8:03 beautiful lights. But for now, just
8:05 cruising around, getting ready to head
8:07 back to my place.
8:09 I bet this looks great at night. That's
8:12 Chris Cringo right there. Shy old Saint
8:14 Nick. Got some polar bear polar bears
8:17 climbing that tree. They got a lot of
8:19 Santaas in their yard.
8:28 Little drummer boy. Drummer man.
8:28 Wow.
8:30 This is a good setup.
8:41 The squirrel is perched upon the
8:41 donkey's head.
8:43 Manger scene
8:46 like right there between the ears.
8:47 There's now now it's jumping on his
8:49 back, his torso.
8:56 This is awesome.
8:56 Over in my garage where I have the
8:58 Christmas stuff that I purchased. I did
8:59 I do have a storage unit, but I didn't
9:01 put it in the storage unit because I
9:02 knew I was going to be getting back and
9:04 putting it out after Christmas before
9:06 New Year's. So, right around New Year's.
9:08 I'll put the Christmas stuff into the
9:11 storage unit along with my Halloween
9:12 stuff. and it'll be in there until, you
9:14 know, October of next year for Halloween
9:17 and then Christmas after that, you know,
9:19 a month or two after that. So, I put my
9:21 magnets, my international magnets. I put
9:24 the ones I just got on this current this
9:25 last international trip along with the
9:27 ones I gotten the rest of the year.
9:30 Probably going to put them in order at
9:31 some point so that I can itemize.
9:33 Started off with Bise in January and
9:36 then went from there. That way I can
9:38 recollect a little easier on the order
9:40 of the countries and how many I've gone
9:42 to. I think I've been to at least 12,
9:43 maybe 13. I'll do that at another point.
9:46 But I went to a decent amount of
9:47 countries this year. It's been a good
9:49 internet. It's been a good international
9:50 year. But I got my Christmas stuff kind
9:52 of wedged in here.
9:55 This isn't all of it, but this is some
9:57 of it. And I'm going to put it all out
9:58 right now. Get the yard all decorated.
10:02 Going to be changing out my my pilgrim I
10:04 got from Thanksgiving. He's been holding
10:06 it down here in this room while I've
10:08 been gone. So, he is going to be turning
10:11 into a Christmas character.
10:14 So, pilgrim is going to be put away as
10:16 well.
10:19 He's just been hanging out here while
10:20 I've been gone, watching over the place.
10:22 All right, starting off with the blank
10:24 slate. Let's get this thing decorated.
10:27 All right, first thing is the wreath and
10:32 Santa Claus down here. Little ho ho ho.
10:36 Now, last year, the only Christmas
10:38 decoration I had out was this hot cocoa
10:41 or maybe a coffee
10:45 little coffee cup, cocoa cup,
10:48 gingerbread man with the Santa cap and
10:50 the candy cane on. That was the only
10:52 thing I had last year. This year I'm
10:55 going to have a little bit more. Each
10:56 year it's going to progress, but this
10:58 year a little bit more than just one
10:59 blow mold. Off to a nice little start
11:01 here with the ornaments and my manger
11:04 scene.
11:13 Little Rudolph.
11:13 All right, I got a few of these. I got a
11:15 Mickey Mini and a Grinch this size. Just
11:17 opened it up. This is awesome. 3.35t
11:22 tall. So, 3 and a3 feet tall. That is a
11:25 great blow mold. Look at that. I like
11:28 that one.
11:30 Got to have a little
11:32 little manger scene and some Santa stuff
11:34 and also some Disney Christmas. A little
11:36 mixture of all three.
11:43 All right, the rain is coming in now. I
11:43 put Mr. Grinch here in the same spot
11:46 that
11:54 that pilgrim was. Oh, nice little wind
11:54 going through here, too. Hopefully these
11:55 blow molds don't completely fall down.
11:58 blow mold overload. Got my Mary
12:00 Grinchmas. So, actually four different
12:03 themes. You got mangers
12:11 and the birth of baby Jesus. Got the
12:11 Grinch.
12:12 Let's see. One, two. Got the Grinch
12:14 theme. Got Santa Claus theme. And then
12:17 the fourth theme.
12:23 What would the fourth theme be? Santa
12:23 Claus, baby Jesus, Grinch, and Disney.
12:27 That's it.
12:30 So, you got Grinch. You got some Santa
12:33 Claus. This is Santa Claus in his little
12:37 Florida version. Also, a pink flamingo
12:40 with a Santa hat on.
12:43 Nothing says Florida like that.
12:46 You got some stitch action over here.
12:49 Love these.
12:56 I think in future years, maybe next year
12:56 I'll put some lights out. This is This
12:58 is a pretty good second year in my
13:01 opinion.
13:02 Got my nativity here. Really love this.
13:26 It all started off last year with this
13:26 little guy.
13:28 Plenty of solar powered lights. I'm kind
13:29 of curious to see. A little bit of a
13:31 rainstorm just went through, so I don't
13:33 know if they're going to be all juiced
13:34 up and ready to go, but see how it looks
13:39 under the shroud of nightfall.
14:00 didn't go with anything up on the second
14:00 balcony. I did order, which is not here
14:02 yet. I ordered a Christmas flag for the
14:06 for the balcony up there, but went a
14:09 little heavier on the Halloween.
14:15 This year was my second year doing
14:15 Halloween. This is only my first year
14:16 doing Christmas other than the little
14:18 gingerbread guy. But in time, this will
14:22 escalate and grow. I'm pretty happy with
14:24 this, though. It's cute. It's very cute.
14:27 Except for the Grinch up there on the
14:28 porch. He's terrifying.
14:50 It's pretty good.
14:50 It's pretty good. And from one Grinch to
14:52 another. Cruising around. Celebration
14:56 again. There are Grinches everywhere.
14:58 This is not the Grinch at my place. This
14:59 is another Grinch elsewhere.
15:02 Lots of Grinches. I also want to go over
15:04 here to the Presbyterian Church where
15:07 they also have a nativity scene
15:10 right over there.
15:12 Make sure you do not climb on the hay or
15:16 the nativity.
15:29 This church does a live nativity every
15:29 year. Usually I'll do a I'll show up and
15:32 do a video of it, but I was out of town
15:33 when they did their live nativity this
15:34 year. I'm assuming they already did it.
15:37 Last year they had a they had a real
15:38 camel. It's pretty cool. I'm noticing
15:41 this house, which goes all out for
15:42 Halloween. They always do the castle.
15:45 They put the castle facade the front of
15:47 their home, which is awesome. They don't
15:48 go as heavy for Halloween as they do for
15:52 the holidays and Christmas. They do have
15:54 a few things out.
15:59 Kind of wondering if they just leave the
15:59 castle facade up during October,
16:02 November, and December.
16:05 Cornelius over there. Some snowmen. You
16:08 got Santa sleigh or a sleigh right here.
16:11 And you got one of the elves
16:15 presents in the forklift.
16:17 Little Santa male. North Pole
16:20 here.
16:32 The gingerbread house. Yeah, they
16:32 definitely don't go as heavy as they do
16:34 for for Halloween, but they still got
16:37 the mystery machine out. Mystery
16:39 machine.
16:41 The whole gang's got the Christmas tree.
16:43 They went out and chopped a Christmas
16:45 tree down and got on top of the van. And
16:47 the neighbors got these little
16:50 little yard ornaments.
16:58 There's a some big inflatables here.
16:58 Santa's towering over by like another
17:00 foot over the Grinch.
17:03 A little snow globe elf there. All
17:04 right, I'm over in Jeter Bin now. Again,
17:07 I mentioned this before. Jeter Bin used
17:09 to go all out for Halloween and
17:12 Christmas, especially Christmas, but
17:13 they don't they don't do as much as they
17:15 used to, but they still have quite a few
17:17 houses that participate.
17:19 They used to be they block the streets
17:21 off every night. They have foam snow
17:23 machines, music playing.
17:26 Now it's a little little quieter here in
17:28 Jeterbound.
17:30 This says Merry Wolfmas. These dog
17:33 inflatable dogs.
17:38 Oh, look at this one over here. This dog
17:38 is like it's got a peppermint stick in
17:41 its mouth looking for Santa. His friend
17:44 next to him says, "Santa paws, please
17:47 stop here." That dog looks very
17:50 startled.
17:53 Be interesting if the homeowners here
17:54 didn't even own a dog. That would be
17:56 really weird. Starting to get some
18:00 lights illuminating now.
18:09 Another little manger scene over there.
18:09 Very nice.
18:17 There's a pretty good Grinch like inside
18:17 the television.
18:33 Little combination Grinch and Griswalt.
18:33 In fact, take a look. Got Clark up there
18:36 on the ladder. And got some Disney
18:39 characters up there singing as well. But
18:41 they have gone all in on Grinch here.
19:05 going to Publix. I'll grab a bite to
19:05 eat, take it back to my place, and watch
19:09 Die Hard 2.
19:11 Die Hard 1 is one of my favorite action
19:13 films of all time. I do consider to be a
19:16 Christmas movie. Some people don't.
19:18 Takes place on Christmas Eve. Has a
19:21 happy ending
19:23 where John Mlan and his wife
19:27 end up getting reunited after their mar
19:30 marriage problems.
19:32 And that spawns off into the sequel. I
19:33 haven't seen the sequel in a long time.
19:35 Been a while since I watched part two,
19:37 but it evidently also takes place on
19:40 Christmas Eve.
19:42 So, you could kind of classify that as a
19:43 Christmas movie. What exactly makes up a
19:45 Christmas movie? It's definitely a very
19:47 heated argument whether the first one is
19:49 a Christmas film or not. I've always
19:52 seen it as so
19:55 just how people will say that Home Alone
19:56 is a Christmas film which I think was
19:59 released November of that year where Die
20:02 Hard was a summer release. But if you're
20:05 going off that, there's a lot of
20:06 Christmas films that were released in in
20:07 different times other than December. So
20:10 if that's the only criteria for being a
20:12 Christmas film, then I guess Die Hard
20:14 wouldn't be. However,
20:16 it's got to thinking about it
20:19 that Home Alone and Die Hard are pretty
20:21 similar. There are people there's, you
20:24 know, Kevin is by himself. John Mlan is
20:27 by himself trying to
20:31 keep those who are infiltrating a
20:34 building
20:36 from being overtaken.
20:43 You the wet bandits, they were not good
20:43 people.
20:44 So you kind of look at it that way. And
20:47 Kevin ended up taking care of business
20:48 just like John Mlan took care of
20:51 business and it was during the Christmas
20:53 time. So what's the difference between
20:56 the films
20:59 and they both have happy endings? Both
21:01 are reunited with their family at the
21:04 end.
21:05 So food for thought. Not that what I'm
21:08 saying is going to sway anybody's
21:09 decision because I don't know. It's just
21:10 a fun thing. It's not not not that big
21:12 of a deal if you perceive it to be or
21:13 not. But I'm going to watch the sequel
21:14 tonight. I'm watch part two.
21:17 I have not seen it probably since the
21:21 mid9s.
21:24 So, I'm excited to to see it. Also, I
21:26 believe William Sadler is the villain,
21:29 and I had forgotten. I was kind of
21:31 looking looking it up before I go home
21:32 to go watch it. He was at Shaw Shank
21:34 Redemption. He didn't have he didn't
21:35 have a very big part in Shawshike
21:37 Prediction, but evidently has a lot
21:38 bigger part in the airport version
21:43 of the sequel. No Nakatomi Plaza or
21:46 Nakattoi Tower. So, I'm going to get
21:49 some food, go home. I'll pass back by
21:52 through downtown Celebration and maybe
21:54 see some dusk deer. If not, no big deal.
21:57 Maybe show a few more lights, show my
21:58 place. Hopefully the solar power
22:02 is like kind of illuminating my my
22:04 little decor, my blow malt.
22:08 And then I'm going to kind of probably
22:10 turn in early. Last night I ended up
22:12 waking up or this morning I woke up at
22:14 3:00 a.m. Still on Paris time, which
22:16 would have been 9:00 a.m. in Paris. Went
22:19 to bed probably about midnight last
22:21 night. Woke up at 3:00 automatically. my
22:23 body thinking it was 9:00 a.m. So, I've
22:26 been up since 3:00
22:28 and I'm kind of feeling that. So, I'm
22:31 kind of getting reverse jet lag. It's
22:32 not as bad as going, you know, over to
22:35 England and over to France from the US.
22:38 It's not as bad coming back this
22:39 direction, but you get a little
22:40 moderate, mellow reverse jet lag. So,
22:45 just going to watch a movie, eat some
22:47 food, and
22:48 call it a night before December 25th. I
22:52 got to watch one of my all-time
22:53 favorites as well, Gremlins, which I
22:55 also consider Christmas flick. Lethal
22:58 Weapon,
23:00 also during the holidays. There's a lot
23:02 of great action movies, you know, of
23:05 that genre. Action-packed. Grandma's not
23:08 an action movie, but guess you classify
23:10 it as a comedy horror. Love it. All
23:13 those movies
23:15 I consider
23:16 Holly Joll Holly Jolly Christmas films.
23:21 I don't know. I just It's a fun time. I
23:24 think a nat just hit me in the cheek.
23:41 Yeah, downtown's getting pretty hectic.
23:41 Always during December, especially a
23:43 week out before Christmas, it gets
23:45 really busy down here.
23:54 Got the horserawn carriages out over
23:54 here, which is kind of cool. Hayride.
24:00 Doesn't look like anybody's really
24:00 lining up for the hay ride at the
24:02 moment.
24:11 See if we can get a peek down at the
24:11 tree here.
24:18 There we go.
24:18 There it is. All lit up. All right,
24:20 prepare for flashing strobe lights.
24:23 Take a look over here. This is in full
24:26 effect of the blinking lights going on
24:30 over there. Very nice. Very nice.
24:37 All right, some of the lights are
24:37 working. Some of the solar powered
24:39 spotlights.
24:41 Santa has a nice little glow about him
24:43 there with the surfboard.
24:50 Yeah, it looks pretty good.
24:50 This one over here.
24:52 The little lights aren't twinkling,
24:54 Clark.
24:56 And that one's not working for whatever
24:58 reason. Maybe it's not dark enough. This
25:00 one has a nice little glow over here
25:02 next to these vintagey looking glow
25:05 molds.
25:17 Like this one here is working pretty
25:17 good. Give it a nice little
25:21 little spotlight on Mickey and Pluto and
25:23 Minnie there.
25:25 Stitch has a good little light on him,
25:26 too.
25:32 Manger scene really looks good with the
25:32 two
25:34 all lit up.
25:37 Very nice. And the Grinch on the porch
25:42 really is illuminated.
26:10 Disney Plus. Yeah. Gotta love it.
26:10 You just log into a Disney streaming
26:12 service and you got the whole arsenal
26:15 here. The classic. Hard to beat the
26:18 first one.
26:20 I feel like I'm going to enjoy I think I
26:21 enjoyed it when I watched it years ago.
26:24 So, I'm going to watch the watch the
26:26 second one. Separated by two years, 88
26:29 and 1990. Same year as Home Alone. I
26:33 believe Home Alone was also 90.
26:37 And that's going to do it for today.
26:40 Thanks for watching. I'll see you in the
26:42 next video. The vlog
26:45 is over.
