0:46 wonderful thing and the fact that we

2:41 the beginnings of my YouTube career

2:44 which is a weird way to say it this

2:46 YouTube career that I have engulfed and

2:50 put myself directly in front of when I

2:52 started doing videos I started doing

2:54 some videos in

2:55 2010 but if you ever hear me explain

2:58 things over the past year or two I

3:01 always state that I technically fulltime

3:05 I fulltime started YouTube in November

3:08 of 2011 now there were some videos

3:10 before that but I considered myself a

3:12 part-time YouTuber I went fulltime I

3:15 went full fulltime if that's lot a lot

3:18 of full in November of 2011 when my

3:21 friend Ginger and I loaded into my van

3:24 and started traveling across the country

3:28 filming a lot of stuff Six Flags new

3:29 world orans ghost town in the sky the

3:32 Land of Oz Friday 13 part 6 filming

3:34 locations a bunch of videos and all

3:37 those videos have a lot of views now and

3:39 really kind of help helped jet Propel

3:42 this channel the main channel the Adam

3:44 the woo channel into the next

3:48 level of I don't know

3:51 YouTube I don't know what the word would

3:53 be YouTube algorithms and moderate

3:58 popularity

4:00 and then 3 and a half years ago on July

4:04 1st three and a half years ago so four

4:06 years on July 1st would be four years I

4:09 created this the daily woo Channel a

4:11 more personal look into my life not

4:13 really focusing so much on the adventure

4:16 side of it but more of an unedited

4:18 random impulsive everyday filmed and

4:22 everyday uploaded in the same day in

4:25 real time basically within an hour or

4:28 two of me filming this I upad it and I

4:30 did that as a continuation of the Adam

4:34 the woo

4:35 Channel and somewhere in

4:38 there somewhere in there

4:41 something went

4:44 wrong what does that mean I'm talking

4:46 about creating content I'm talking about

4:50 living life I'm talking about going on

4:52 adventures and documenting them in the

4:56 form of videos either for this the Vlog

4:59 Channel which I have not missed a day

5:01 yet in 3 and 1/2 years have not missed

5:04 an upload yet and then the Adam the woo

5:07 Channel which has close to

5:09 400 lengthy edited down videos a lot of

5:14 traveling a lot of hours editing a lot

5:17 of pre-planning especially movie

5:19 locations trying to find abandoned spots

5:21 that no one has done trying to get in

5:23 abandoned spots trying to deal with

5:27 legal aspects that happen after the

5:29 video was uploaded lots of stuff on the

5:33 back burner and behind the scenes that a

5:35 lot of people do not realize between the

5:38 two channels these things started

5:41 popping up these things called social

5:44 media platforms I'm talking about your

5:46 Twitter's your Instagrams your mysp

5:49 spaces your Facebooks your Snapchats I

5:53 never got into Snapchat but I know a lot

5:55 of my friends that use Snapchat pretty

5:57 regularly but I really got into and

6:00 still am into Twitter Instagram Facebook

6:02 and then this new fangled Periscope

6:04 which is really cool and I started I had

6:07 an eye openening experience last Monday

6:12 so a week from tomorrow or a week

6:14 tomorrow a week ago so 6 days ago was

6:17 the last time I used Periscope look at

6:20 these plants right here what is this

6:23 that's

6:24 crazy what are these all the way along

6:30 anybody know what kind of plants these

6:43 crazy are those

6:43 patunas I don't think those are patunas

6:45 those aren't even a plant like a plant

6:47 like as oh there a train going by check

7:01 train so so Monday 6 days ago I had an

7:01 eye openening experience I was at

7:03 Disneyland which also is the last time I

7:06 have been at a Disney park I have not

7:07 been at to Disneyland in 6 days which

7:11 for me is crazy I kind of needed a #

7:15 Disney detox if you will kind of need to

7:17 clear my head got a lot on my mind

7:19 lately with having a place to myself now

7:23 being newly

7:25 single and this today you know

7:28 Valentine's Day

7:30 a lot of stuff on my mind let's talk

7:32 about Monday I'm getting sidetracked

7:34 Monday I was at Disneyland and of course

7:38 a week ago today a week ago was actually

7:40 the Super Bowl and you've heard the

7:43 famous saying you just won the Super

7:45 Bowl what are you going to do now I'm

7:47 going to Disneyland I'm going to Disney

7:49 World well the quarterback Payton

7:52 Manning who actually won the Super Bowl

7:55 winning team he was in the parade at

8:00 noonish last

8:02 Monday the day after the Super Bowl and

8:04 he was there and I thought this would be

8:06 a great pariscope this would be awesome

8:08 to do a periscope I'm in the park I'm

8:11 not a huge football fan I'm not a huge

8:14 self-proclaimed offici andado of

8:16 football teams but I know a lot of

8:18 people are and I thought I'm already

8:20 here why don't I document this through

8:23 the beauty a periscope a live stream of

8:25 Payton Manning coming down the road a

8:27 lot of people would be interested in

8:28 that the way Periscope works it's a live

8:31 stream but it all depends on how many

8:33 other people in your area are on their

8:35 social media using up data using up the

8:38 cell phone towers and this was the case

8:40 at Disneyland a lot of time is the case

8:43 at theme parks so what happened was it

8:45 was very hard for me to log into

8:46 Periscope and once I finally logged into

8:49 Periscope once the parade route started

8:51 coming towards me I could see all the

8:54 comments lots and lots of comments were

8:57 all saying how

8:59 fix this is this is the quotes fix your

9:02 Periscope man fix your Periscope

9:05 something's wrong with the Periscope

9:07 feed reception's bad fix your Periscope

9:10 fix your Periscope fix your

9:12 Periscope and I got a little upset

9:15 because unlike YouTube where I'm

9:17 uploading the videos and the video is

9:20 uploaded Periscope is a live stream and

9:22 I can only do so much because it's all

9:24 based on the cell phone signal that I

9:26 have so after that I made a commitment

9:28 to my myself that I was rarely going to

9:32 do Periscope again for that reason and

9:36 this started a whole Whirlwind in my

9:39 mind thought process in my mind about

9:42 what is really important and what I

9:45 really want to be doing and what I want

9:47 to be allotting my time to

9:52 do and that be may be very confusing

9:54 when I say that but what that means is

9:57 social media the periscope scope being

9:59 the Forerunner and the reason I all

10:01 started this idea but also Twitter and

10:04 Instagram and Facebook that I

10:06 prominently use all day every day and

10:09 have become kind of a full-time job when

10:11 I wake up I immediately get my phone I'm

10:14 laying in bed I check Twitter I check

10:16 Instagram I che check Facebook I reply

10:19 to some people I favorite some tweets I

10:20 check some email stuff like that in the

10:22 course of a day I'm this is pretty much

10:25 the way I figured it out when I was

10:27 using Periscope a lot I was periscoping

10:29 oping an hour to an hour and a half a

10:31 day three or four periscopes a day for

10:33 15 20 minutes at a time that's an hour a

10:35 day dedicated to Periscope Twitter an

10:38 hour a day Facebook an hour a day

10:41 Instagram probably two to three hours a

10:43 day just browsing through comments

10:45 posting stuff about what I'm eating

10:47 posting weird wacky things basically

10:50 things that I could talk about in a vlog

10:53 the next day that I'm posting on the

10:57 social media and then it's interesting

11:00 because I don't I've never followed

11:02 anyone on social media and my social

11:05 media is kind of I got a quite a few

11:07 people following me my Facebook page has

11:09 about 14 to

11:11 15,000 followers my Instagram has about

11:15 10,000 9 to 10,000 my Twitter has almost

11:18 10,000 Periscope I have like 21 20 to 21

11:23 or

11:24 22,000 followers on there but in reality

11:28 all of the these social media platforms

11:31 based on what I really want to be doing

11:34 is unimportant because when I started in

11:37 2011 my whole goal was not social media

11:41 my whole goal was doing YouTube videos

11:45 going on adventures traveling getting in

11:48 the van traveling now a lot of that has

11:50 changed because I moved to Southern

11:51 California and I'm not talking about

11:54 what went wrong you're not living in

11:56 your van any anymore you're not sleeping

11:57 in parking lots that that is not is what

12:00 I'm referring to what I'm referring to

12:02 is the time barrier that social media

12:06 has on society and has on me because if

12:10 you add up all the hours 1 hour here 1

12:13 hour here two hours here 1 hour here 1

12:16 hour here all day I'm spending 5 to 10

12:20 hours a day on social media that's just

12:24 crazy because I'm stopping every few

12:26 minutes and I'm checking something arm

12:28 replying to something and I'm here to

12:31 say this I've stated this in the fact in

12:32 fact I went on a social media Hiatus for

12:35 30 days and a lot of people shunned me a

12:37 lot of creators that are out there

12:40 people that I know have all said this is

12:42 crazy because social media helps promote

12:46 what you're doing and I am here to say

12:48 that I completely disagree with that it

12:51 is basically a way for us to just be a

12:54 little bit pompous to put oursel out

12:56 there and you can say the same thing

12:57 about YouTube videos these Vlogs or the

12:59 main Channel videos but is a way to just

13:01 have fun social media is fun it is a way

13:04 to toot our own horn look what I'm doing

13:06 look what I'm eating and that could be

13:08 said about YouTube as well but the other

13:11 thing about YouTube especially the main

13:13 channel is the fact that I'm actually

13:14 going out doing stuff filming things

13:18 putting together a movie editing stuff

13:21 down for the main channel so I think

13:23 what I am going to do is taper back on

13:26 social media dramatically now I am not

13:29 going to delete my accounts I'm not

13:31 going to stop posting but you will

13:33 probably only see maybe one Periscope a

13:36 week if that I'm going to taper back

13:39 Periscope dramatically I'm going to very

13:43 randomly and occasionally and rarely

13:46 post on Twitter or Instagram or Facebook

13:50 if I'm going to be in a certain place

13:51 and I want to do a Meetup I will post

13:53 that if I have something going on or if

13:55 I'm promoting a video that will be the

13:57 form of social media

14:00 the the aspect of trying to reply to

14:03 everyone on social media who have all

14:06 come from the Vlogs either this Vlog

14:10 Channel or the Adam the woo Channel be

14:13 honest with me now if you are following

14:15 me on social media odds are really good

14:18 the only reason you are following me on

14:19 social media is because I mentioned it

14:22 in this

14:23 Vlog and you have stumbled over to those

14:25 social media sites these videos are not

14:29 promoted because of something I put on

14:31 Twitter or Facebook I do a daily Vlog

14:33 every day in the mind of everyone you

14:37 should realize that there is a video

14:39 every single day on this the daily woo

14:42 Channel I've been giving this a lot of

14:43 thought so if you send me a tweet if you

14:47 tag me on Instagram and you do not hear

14:49 anything back it is because I am taking

14:52 a step back from social media once again

14:55 this time I'm not cutting it out cold

14:57 turkey I will still use it but I've

15:01 actually I wish you could actually see

15:02 my phone because on my phone that I'm

15:05 filming this Vlog with you know how you

15:07 can organize on the iPhone you can

15:09 organize all these little like folders

15:13 well I took Twitter Instagram Periscope

15:15 and Facebook this morning those four and

15:17 I put them in the the folder and I

15:20 titled the folder waste of time and why

15:24 did I do that so that way I would not be

15:26 tempted every time I pick my phone up to

15:29 click on that app to click on Periscope

15:33 and start a periscope to click on

15:35 Twitter and see who's tweeting stuff see

15:37 what I could tweet and Facebook to see

15:41 what I could post on Facebook and all

15:42 that and I did that because it is

15:45 becoming very timec consuming kind of a

15:47 little bit of a hindrance to a degree

15:50 and I want to use it properly now for

15:54 those who are saying no it helps me

15:55 promote my stuff I get that to a certain

15:58 degree but when you reach a certain

16:00 Plateau on social media it becomes

16:03 almost impossible to reply to everyone

16:07 when I was giving you those little

16:08 little stair step hours of each of each

16:12 amount of time I'm spending on each

16:14 social media platform that is just in a

16:16 moderate Pace that is not even me

16:18 replying to everyone and I feel like I

16:21 don't want to shun anyone I do not want

16:24 to abolish anyone from social media I do

16:27 not want to make some feel like they are

16:30 unloved by not replying to them and it's

16:33 so

16:34 overwhelming and when I can't reply to

16:36 someone I don't want to hurt someone's

16:38 feelings because I'm not replying to

16:39 them so I think it would be easier for

16:41 me to just clarify this through the Vlog

16:44 if I don't reply to you if I am not

16:46 posting on social media that this is the

16:49 reason I want to dedicate those four to

16:52 five to six hours a day that I am

16:55 wasting my time on social media and I

16:57 actually want to dedicate that to

16:59 filming videos to filming Adventure

17:03 videos I have so many ideas and now this

17:06 whole social media thing which is a

17:10 major problem for me I know people are

17:12 thinking you're crazy this Vlog makes no

17:13 sense and I'm sure you will chime in

17:15 with your opinions I would rather reply

17:18 to your opinions here down below this

17:20 video on this Vlog Channel and we can

17:22 keep it all contained to the Vlogs keep

17:25 the comments contained to the vlogs and

17:28 let's leave social media to more not

17:31 even a part-time Endeavor cuz before

17:34 full-time videos part-time social media

17:38 and then slowly the videos I'm not to

17:40 say they went to part-time but they

17:42 weren't at the plateau of me going out

17:45 and filming so much cuz I was so worried

17:47 about posting stuff so now let's take

17:49 the social media that has been at

17:52 part-time almost a fulltime let's take

17:54 that part-time and bring it down to like

17:56 volunteer status like a volun choking

18:01 volunteer status I really need something

18:03 to drink I'm getting so choked up about

18:06 this whole topic let's take social media

18:08 which is at a volunteer status and bring

18:11 it down to maybe like a a friend helping

18:14 you fix your washing machine status

18:16 that's not your job but if your friend

18:18 asks you to help you fix something you

18:20 might help your friend out but it's not

18:21 a part-time job a moderately three-day a

18:25 week job or a full-time job it's a

18:27 little tiny friendship thing that's how

18:30 social media is going to be I'm going to

18:31 use it on a very small small scale I

18:34 have talked for 18 minutes 35 seconds
