0:05 Today's adventure begins
0:05 as the recording of this Saturday,
0:08 November 29th, 2025. I'm just waking up.
0:13 It's about 6:30 a.m. Maybe a couple
0:15 minutes before
0:17 6:30 a.m. I'm sitting here
0:21 my bed in my hotel in Pisa,
0:25 Italy,
0:26 looking out the leaning tower
0:30 from my window.
0:33 Sun is just about to rise.
1:41 You see the sun attempting to peek up
1:41 over the horizon.
1:43 It's already getting pretty bright, but
1:45 you can see the little coloration and
1:47 the hue
1:49 over there across the
1:51 top of the mountains.
1:58 It's also very quiet down here. I would
1:58 imagine in the next hour or two
2:02 be very busy with tourists and people
2:04 taking photos once again. right now.
2:06 Just a handful.
2:33 Everybody out there setting up for the
2:33 day. Setting up the souvenir stands.
2:38 Getting ready for the crowds.
3:26 See the sun is now
3:26 pretty much starting to rise and
3:28 glistening off of the tower itself.
4:01 Amazing.
4:01 It's okay. Get over this. [bell]
4:14 Just caught the bells ringing. Holy cow,
4:14 that was cool.
4:22 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo here.
4:22 Looking out the window. The day has
4:24 begun. Crowds are starting to formulate
4:28 and I am going to catch a train to
4:31 another destination
4:33 here in Italy.
4:35 I'm inviting you to join me,
4:43 shall you? Yeah. One last peak of my
4:43 hotel room. You see the tours have
4:46 started. The one I did yesterday where
4:48 you go to the tippy top of the tower
4:51 itself.
5:01 It was so dang cool,
5:01 >> not only seeing and climbing the tower
5:03 yesterday, but also staying in the
5:05 closest proximity that one could have to
5:08 set tower. So iconic,
5:13 so awesome.
5:51 Goodbye, Leaning Tower. There's a cool
5:51 angle. I didn't see yesterday. Taking a
5:53 different route, walking back to the
5:54 train station. And as you're pulling
5:57 away from these buildings, you can
5:58 really see the lean here
6:00 pretty dramatically.
6:23 Just in front of the train station. I
6:23 got a few minutes where my train departs
6:24 and I need to buy a ticket. Going to pop
6:26 into the coffee bar here. Get myself a
6:29 little caffeine. But yeah, if you just
6:31 turn around this way, pan around, there
6:35 is the train station. So, get some
6:37 coffee before popping out. All right. I
6:38 grabbed a seat out here. The each of the
6:41 tables here come with an ashtray. I'm
6:43 I'm a non-smoker, but if I need an
6:44 ashtray, they have a This is a cafe
6:48 latte, not served in the coffee cup, but
6:50 served like in a in a glass almost.
6:58 There is a flower bed here that says
6:58 pizza.
7:00 And kind of go around.
7:03 It's a nice little little fountain of
7:06 sorts. And then there is the train
7:09 station that I'm heading into. Got to go
7:11 buy two separate tickets. One from here
7:13 to Florence and then Florence to Naples
7:16 is where I'm going. Going to Naples. I
7:19 could maybe buy them at the same time,
7:21 but it's two different trains. That's
7:22 what I meant to say.
7:25 So, Pisa
7:27 to Naples with one little stop off in
7:30 Florence. Purchase ticket in this little
7:33 electronic booth here. I'm going to
7:36 Fenz, which is Florence 1054, platform
7:41 2. It's already letting me know what
7:43 platform and then once I get there, I'll
7:45 have about 20 minutes, 20 to 25 minutes
7:47 to book my ticket down to Naples.
7:51 So, you can either purchase tickets at
7:53 the little booth here, as I did, or
8:00 you can get in the slide, which I chose
8:00 the machine. All right, it turns out
8:03 that I don't need to get off the train
8:06 when I get to Florence to purchase my
8:10 Bigieti ticket express train
8:14 because this is the company that does
8:15 the express. And they had not only the
8:19 Trinitia,
8:20 which is the localized train, but they
8:22 also had this. So, I went ahead and
8:23 booked both tickets here. Two different
8:25 machines. Nailed it. All right, it's
8:28 arriving
8:31 at 10:54. Arriving a few minutes before
8:35 it departs. Time for everyone to load.
8:37 This is not assigned seats. This means I
8:40 just got to fend for myself. The next
8:43 section or the next train will be
8:45 assigned seats. This one.
9:52 I'm actually going parallel
9:52 >> to another train here. Take a look at
9:55 this. It's like train racing.
10:13 >> That was cool.
10:13 Going
10:31 >> All right, approaching the Florence
10:32 station.
10:47 Pulling into the station. Train number
10:47 one, the shortest of the two trains of
10:49 the day.
10:50 >> Almost completed.
11:10 12:28
11:10 to Napoli.
11:16 Platform 12. There it is. Bottom one
11:16 there. Well, the bottom one with the
11:18 number on that side. Platform 12. 1228.
11:23 All right. I'm on my way.
11:47 All right. Got to this platform and now
11:47 this one. AlmValo
12:15 the train will stop in
12:15 Roma.
12:16 >> This is kind of a neat little cabin
12:17 here. You got the club seat, window
12:20 view, and then there's also a little bar
12:23 here,
12:25 waters and coffees, cookies. This is
12:28 actually a service card here. A lot of
12:30 turbulence here. Well, not turbulence.
12:32 I'm on a rail, but it's bouncing around
12:34 a lot. But I had the option to get a
12:37 couple sandwiches. I went with the ham
12:40 sandwich. Also, this little muffin
12:45 right there. Very bouncy.
12:48 This is the ham sandwich.
13:11 >> All right, I've arrived in Rome. Arrived
13:11 in Rome.
13:17 This is a 10-minute delay before the
13:17 train departs again.
13:19 >> Not too bad of a delay.
13:33 More people are exiting and reboarding,
13:33 but I'm staying in my seat
13:42 and heading out. Okay, it went from a
13:42 10-minute delay to a 20 minute delay. It
13:45 is now up to 25 minute delay.
13:55 10 to 20 to 25 at the Rome station just
13:55 sitting here on the train.
13:58 All right, ended up being a 35minut
14:00 delay, but I'm pulling out of the
14:03 station now. 8902
14:06 from
14:21 Please be reminded that smoking is
14:21 prohibited on
14:31 244 km hour.
14:31 Heat. Heat.
15:21 All right, arriving
15:21 405 35 minutes late. It's 14° C outside.
15:26 35 minutes late. Not too bad though. Not
15:28 too bad considering there were a lot of
15:30 train strikes the last few days here in
15:32 Italy.
15:33 soluble in
15:35 >> 35 minutes total.
15:37 >> I spent about 5 hours on a train today.
15:40 >> About 5 hours
15:42 in total.
15:50 Check this out. After getting off the
15:50 train, I have never seen a completely
15:53 dedicated store to Barbie. I've seen
15:55 Barbies in lots of stores, but never a
15:58 store dedicated completely
16:01 to Barbies. But this one is got all the
16:03 signature collection over here. You got
16:05 astronaut Barbie. You got surfing kin
16:09 right over here. You got the holiday
16:11 2025 Barbie. This is kind of neat. Yeah,
16:14 I've seen lots of, you know, stores that
16:15 have Barbies in them. But never at a
16:17 train station. As soon as you get off
16:19 the train, you are greeted with a Barbie
16:23 store. And all look, there's the Barbie
16:25 Dream Home right over there. Yeah. Not a
16:27 lot of sunlight left. There are Look at
16:30 all these taxis.
16:32 There are
16:35 Wow. This is all taxis.
16:40 Taxi overload. I'll have no trouble
16:42 getting to my hotel. There are plenty of
16:44 taxis.
16:46 Plenty of taxis.
18:54 Okay, have arrived at my hotel. I must
18:54 say
18:56 this place is crazy hectic. I mean,
18:58 there are so many people driving
19:02 on the streets. The hotel I'm at is kind
19:05 of tucked away on the shoreline
19:09 right here. But man, getting over here
19:10 was really an experience.
19:13 This I did not expect Naples to be this
19:16 busy. Definitely a lot more hectic and
19:18 busy
19:20 than Pisa where I just was.
19:27 Million times busier. Just checked in my
19:27 room and I'm looking here at some of the
19:28 famous celebrities that have stayed here
19:31 over the duration of time. Check out
19:33 Clark Gable right here. And right above
19:37 there's the man Alfred. There's
19:39 Hitchcock would be proud
19:42 right out front by that pillar. All
19:44 right. Now that I'm walking in, I walked
19:45 in, I opened the the doors up and turned
19:47 the lights on to give a little room
19:48 tour. I'm kind kind of wondering which
19:51 room Alfred Hitchcock stayed in because
19:54 this thing is nice. Take a look at the
19:58 tub here. So, you got the shower, you
20:01 got the tub, you got the shower nozzle
20:04 up here, this little piece of plexi. If
20:07 I want to take a bath, I could take a
20:09 bath. I want to take a shower, I could
20:10 take a shower. I got a telephone over
20:13 here in case I want to make some calls
20:15 while I'm
20:17 going use going number two right over
20:20 there in the shower. And then, well, in
20:24 the commode, I mean. And then, let me
20:26 turn this way and show the rest of this
20:29 room. Got my luggage all put away.
20:33 Hear the traffic out down below. You got
20:36 a kettle over here. You got some waters.
20:39 You got some really big teacups.
20:43 And then you got a couple chairs here.
20:47 A little lai outside.
20:50 Massive massive bed.
20:57 I mean that would be like I don't even
20:57 know what size you even consider that
20:58 thing. Like twice the size widthwise of
21:01 a queen. The television is tiny in
21:04 comparison to the size of the t size of
21:06 the bed. A chandelier.
21:09 A desk. An end table. I believe that
21:11 goes to another room. Let me go out onto
21:13 the balcony here. Show the balcony.
21:17 Oh, I hope that's fireworks.
21:28 There's two balconies to this room. The
21:28 one I'm standing on and that one. The
21:30 other balconies are the next room over.
21:33 Got some seagulls flying around. That
21:35 looks like it looks be a castle over
21:37 there. You got a port of some sort. You
21:39 got some sailboats.
21:42 Very nice. Very nice.
21:46 This is nice. Seagulls are squawking.
21:57 So, my agenda this evening is to get a
21:57 >> All right.
22:03 We'll let you get a taxi and go over to
22:04 the first ever pizza place is here in
22:07 Naples. The very first pizza place ever
22:09 the history of the world from what I'm
22:10 hearing
22:12 is here. So, I'm going to get myself a
22:15 pizza pie, a pizza pie, or maybe a few
22:17 slices.
22:19 see how the night goes. Also, before
22:21 heading over to that pizza place,
22:23 decided to pop up to the roof terrace,
22:25 which is only one floor above the room
22:27 I'm on. I'm on I'm on the sixth floor.
22:30 The seventh floor has a roof terrace,
22:31 which is just really great. I was able
22:33 to catch it just at the end of sunset. I
22:37 wouldn't call it proper sunset, but
22:38 you're getting that hue of the sunset.
22:40 You have a little bit of the leftover
22:42 sunset that's kind of off in the
22:44 distance over across the waterway here.
22:47 Off in the distance and the shorelines
22:49 and the hills
22:52 of Naples, Italy.
22:55 Very beautiful from this this hotel. I
22:57 am really really amazed how nice this
22:59 hotel is right here on the corner
23:01 portion of the city of Naples, right on
23:03 the water, which is great with the
23:07 seagulls flying around and everything.
23:10 really beautiful. I'm going to grab a
23:11 taxi. The concierge at the front, the
23:13 bellhop, said they could just order a
23:15 taxi at any point. I want to take a taxi
23:18 over and grab a slice of pie from the
23:20 first pizza place ever, which is just
23:22 mindblowing to think about.
23:25 So, going to do that shortly.
23:28 I'm just enjoying the rooftop on the
23:30 seventh floor and then back down to my
23:32 room on the sixth floor overlooking the
23:35 little terrace here.
23:37 Little balcony.
23:39 They had a whole restaurant upstairs on
23:41 the seventh floor also, but I opted not
23:42 to get anything up there because I'm
23:44 going to that pizza place. First pizza
23:45 place. I'm standing right here
23:50 top of the balcony.
23:53 This is actually a lot more mellower
23:55 area of town than it was from the train
23:58 station to here
24:00 and the taxi. All right, going to put my
24:03 stuff away in the room and get going.
24:05 So, I looked up a little bit about
24:06 Hitchcock and other people that stayed
24:08 here and evidently Orson Wells was seen
24:12 in here a few times in the lobby meeting
24:14 up with people. Yeah, Orson Wells,
24:16 Citizen Kane, Touch of Evil. Ain't that
24:19 freaking cool to think about? I couldn't
24:22 find any photos of Orson here, but I did
24:25 find that Hitchcock photo.
24:36 There you go. That's very Medusaesque.
24:36 Right here at the intro to Hotel Excels,
24:39 Exc Excelsior. And this is the spot here
24:42 where Alfred Hitchcock, the photo was
24:44 taken of him kind of right here along
24:48 the next to the pillar where it sells
24:50 Excelsier. Like all those famous photos
24:52 of people were all right here. He was
24:54 probably hailing a cab or maybe his
24:55 driver was picking him up. Also, I was
24:58 kind of as I was reading his stay here,
25:01 they filmed a couple episodes of Alfred
25:03 Hitchcock Presents here in this area of
25:06 Italy. So, that's fun. Yeah, the
25:07 Hitchcock photo right there. Hitchcock
25:10 would be proud.
25:12 This area over here is got a little
25:14 construction fence, but there's a looks
25:16 to be a historic archway there. And I'll
25:20 kind of pan around and show the historic
25:23 hotel staying at up there towards the
25:27 roof. Very beautiful. I will say it is
25:30 mellowed out quite a bit since when the
25:32 taxi driver dropped me off an hour or
25:34 two ago. I've ordered an Uber now and go
25:37 over to the first pizza place ever. That
25:41 is something else to think about. And
25:43 while I'm waiting for my Uber, I'll just
25:44 match that photo up. Alfred giving a
25:47 little wave there.
25:49 and Spock. Also a photo of him and Henry
25:52 Fonda in there in the lobby hanging out.
26:01 >> Yeah. Hollywood royalty
26:01 stayed right here.
26:03 A pretty good pretty good amount of
26:04 history.
27:58 All right, I decided to get out of the
27:58 Uber. There's a lot of road closure, so
28:00 we kept going. bunch of back roads and
28:02 alleys and whatnot. And I figured it'd
28:06 probably be quicker to just get out and
28:07 walk. I was in the Uber for about 45
28:09 minutes. Really didn't go anywhere
28:11 because of the road closures. Kind of
28:13 went around in circles, more or less.
28:17 So, 45 minutes. Decided to get out. I'm
28:19 just going to walk the remaining 15
28:21 minutes over to get some some pizza.
28:24 Probably should have just walked a few
28:26 miles instead of doing the Uber, but
28:29 traffic here. And the roads, the way
28:31 they're set up, the oneway roads and
28:33 road closures are pretty wild. Pretty
28:36 wild. Taking a little stroll.
28:48 I will say my first impression here is
28:48 this is the most stressful of all the
28:49 places I've been in Italy so far.
28:53 I think this place is more hectic than
28:54 Rome even.
29:14 All right. There's a lot of pizza places
29:14 through this area. It's kind of thinned
29:15 out a little bit. The one I'm looking
29:17 for is called Antisa Pizzeria Port Alba,
29:22 which should be, according to the
29:25 directions I punched in my phone, right
29:28 up here, perhaps maybe. Ah. Ah. Right
29:32 here. Here it is. So this is the
29:36 historic place 1738
29:38 according to what I was reading. I mean
29:41 it may be up for discretion. It might be
29:43 up for you know interpretation and
29:47 and arguing but it is said that this is
29:50 the very first place that ever created a
29:52 pizza. This place was established back
29:55 in 1783
29:56 and not just here in Italy but in all
30:00 the world. I mean it originated here.
30:02 the Italian food and pizza. And it's not
30:04 exactly like the pizza we have today. It
30:07 was more of more basic. There was no
30:08 pepperoni or ham or anything on it. It
30:10 was more like oil and cheese and stuff.
30:12 But yeah,
30:27 go upstairs. I
30:27 use the restroom real quick. They said
30:29 it's upstairs. Surprisingly, as
30:31 slam-packed as it is outside,
30:34 there's like only a couple people in
30:36 here.
31:59 Yeah,
31:59 >> this place is really tiny. They make the
32:01 pizza right back in there, right in
32:04 front of your eyes. I didn't see
32:06 anything when I read the info that this
32:08 was the place that had the first piece
32:09 of pizza, but it dates back to 738 and
32:13 1738 and is the oldest
32:20 in the city. So, it would stand a
32:20 reason. All right. I asked the server
32:22 what he thinks the specialty would be.
32:24 He said traditional or more modern. I go
32:27 traditional and he recommended this one
32:29 here which kind of has like a variety of
32:31 different things. It was kind of like a
32:33 margarita style pizza. I noticed too
32:35 when I came in that the box they have
32:37 out front, they have a recreation of the
32:39 original box before they became an
32:40 actual sitdown restaurant that they
32:42 would serve on the street underneath the
32:44 archway.
32:45 Still out there. I'll show that. But
32:47 this is the pie I got right here. It's
32:51 pretty good.
32:57 Yeah, it's pretty much a like a thin,
32:57 very thin crust.
33:04 >> Tomato sauce is good.
33:04 Look at all that goodness in the middle
33:06 there.
33:08 Interesting that it must not must be a
33:09 thing here in Italy. They don't cut the
33:10 pizza. You got to take a a regular
33:14 knife and cut it yourself. Well, just a
33:17 standard knife, not even a sharpener.
33:19 All right, there is the postcard that I
33:21 end up getting from inside.
33:23 And there's the restaurant dating back
33:25 all the way back to 1738.
33:29 Port Alba Restaurante. And they no
33:32 longer have the exact same box out
33:34 front, but they do have,
33:37 you know, they have that box there, but
33:38 they do have a another version of the
33:41 quick service to to go box to go stuff
33:44 if you wanted to grab something out of
33:45 there. But highly recommend eating
33:47 aside. The place was awesome. Very, very
33:50 good. Dating back to the se early 1700s.
33:56 If not the first pizza
33:58 ever. Definitely one of the first places
34:00 to have the first pizza. Right. Right
34:02 here underneath this historic archway.
34:05 That's how you know where to find it.
34:06 Right underneath the archway. And again,
34:08 I'm shocked as busy it was getting down
34:10 here. There was hardly anybody in there.
34:12 Only a few people. And I kind of learned
34:15 from my mistake originally trying to get
34:17 over to the pizza place. Not going to
34:20 get in a car now. I'm just going to walk
34:22 20 25 minutes back to the hotel, which
34:25 is about half the time that I was in the
34:28 original taxi and went pretty much
34:30 nowhere. So, we're just going to walk
34:32 it.
35:47 I don't know what kind of city I've
35:47 stepped into.
36:03 They do have a lot of Christmas lights
36:03 up. Very, very festive. There are
36:05 Christmas lights and decorations
36:07 everywhere on every corner. Christmas
36:09 trees, lights, garland,
36:13 festive, festive holiday cheer all
36:16 through here.
36:19 Just didn't really know what to expect
36:20 till I got here. Didn't realize the
36:23 hustle and bustle of this place.
36:32 And all the scooters, too. Look at these
36:32 scooters. They just like wedge
36:35 themselves between the cars.
37:11 Yeah. Again, I didn't know what
37:11 impression I had crowdwise what Naples
37:14 would be, but I was thinking it would be
37:16 a little more low-key than this. This is
37:23 this is like Time Square,
37:23 London, Piccadilly Circus. Actually, it
37:26 makes Piccadilly Circus look like a
37:29 rural area, like empty. The best way to
37:32 describe this, it's almost as if an
37:34 entire arena emptied out into the
37:37 streets.
37:39 But I don't know if there was an event
37:41 or if people are just down here on a
37:43 casual Saturday night. That's the best
37:45 way to describe it. Like a 50 or 60,000
37:48 person arena emptied out.
37:51 >> But I don't think there was an event.
37:54 Uhoh. Something's going up here.
38:27 Oh, somebody pickpocketing
38:27 Nobody
38:34 can clutch on your stuff pretty good,
38:34 they got a pickpocketer.
38:45 One thing I have noticed about Italy,
38:45 anytime there's crowds, there are
38:47 pickpockers.
38:49 Everyone trying to bump up against you,
38:52 looking where your wallet might be.
38:56 That's why I brought my over the
38:58 shoulder fanny pack. I also have a
39:00 hoodie over the top of it zipped up. The
39:03 only thing that's exposed is the camera
39:04 that I'm
39:06 holding at the moment, which if that
39:09 gets lost, I can buy another one. But
39:10 wallet,
39:12 stuff like that. So, definitely don't
39:15 want that stuff grabbed. is like
39:18 shielded against my my chest in a in a
39:22 bag and then a hoodie over the top of it
39:24 and my left arm is clenching it against
39:27 my torso.
39:30 Think they got that guy though.
39:32 All right, moving on.
40:44 I don't really know what's going on to
40:44 be honest.
41:05 Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's not
41:17 >> Maybe there's another altercation
41:17 developing around it.
41:50 All right, that was entertaining. I
41:50 think I'm going to leave.
41:52 >> Starting to get a little heated over
42:07 >> All right, moving on farther into the
42:07 thick of the crowd.
42:09 Trying to find some gelato out here
42:13 under the Christmas lights.
42:21 All right, here's a gelato place. Il
42:21 gelato
42:23 Manila. Established 1969.
42:27 Get some gelato. All right, these are
42:28 the flavors. You got capri in the back.
42:33 Coconut right here. You got some
42:35 traditional vanilla.
42:37 You got some mango sorbet in the back.
42:39 All right, I went with pistachio and
42:42 vanilla.
42:44 Gelato from
42:47 Manila established
42:49 1969.
42:52 There you go. And down below a bunch of
42:55 birds up there or maybe it's bats, but
42:58 there's some sort of like a little fair
43:00 of some sort that no one is at. There's
43:03 a bazillion people out in other areas,
43:05 but down here hardly anyone is at this
43:09 little carnival thing below the ledge.
43:13 down there. It's like a hidden little
43:15 carnival
43:17 right down below. There's like no one
43:19 down there. The street I was just on had
43:21 8 billion people. All right, I'm almost
43:24 back over to my hotel. The crowds have
43:26 thinned out a little bit, but the
43:28 parking situation
43:30 is just there's no parking. People are
43:32 parking here and walking like a mile
43:34 over to that major busy thoroughare.
43:37 This area here is just they're just
43:40 cramming cars in here. I don't even know
43:42 where you'd even park to come. I don't I
43:44 got to be honest. I don't know why
43:45 everyone's just heading downtown. I
43:46 mean, there must be something going on.
43:51 Or maybe it's like this every night on
43:52 the weekends.
44:00 Almost back to the my hotel, which is
44:00 kind of in a I want to say secluded, but
44:03 in a corner spot of the city. Right on
44:05 the corner of the water. Right on the
44:07 right on the if it's the ocean, but it's
44:08 the waterfront.
44:17 It's actually right around the corner.
44:17 All right, I'm back in front of my
44:18 hotel. That's going to do it for today.
44:20 Looking over here at the construction
44:22 zone and this really cool looking
44:24 historic archway of some sort right here
44:27 on the water. Right here on the bay.
44:29 Thanks for watching. I'll see you in the
44:30 next video. The vlog
44:33 >> Naples.
44:35 It's pretty wild.
44:37 The vlog is over.
